Elbsalon in Dresden

Nice place, friendly staff. A little bit short on vegan alternatives and they were a little bit overwhelmed with requests regarding allergies. Coffee was crap, as usual in Germany, but the breakfast/brunch dishes were generous (but - why couldn’t there be more of the delicious baked beans for the French toast???) and well prepared. However, I missed bacon on the toast and the sheer amount of cheese knocked me out.

Unfortunately, friendliness and quality decrease here. For just under €10 you can get just one scrambled egg that fits on a dessert plate. The service doesn't look at you, doesn't smile and is hectic. Really a shame.

It's quite tasty, I just think the price-performance ratio is too high given the business principle of self-service, self-clearing and the payment method via machine and ordering at the counter. A no-go is that if you reserve 9 people, you get the worst and most uncomfortable table in the entire store. That doesn't work at all. Why do I make reservations if I have to sit on hard stools without backrests right next to the entrance. Furthermore, the ordering process takes an infinitely long time, also a symptom of the personnel policy, there are only two people working. Overall, I can't recommend the store. Everything screams for maximum profit at the expense of staff and comfort, if you like it, you're welcome...not me.

Unfortunately the woman at the counter is in a very bad mood. The offer actually sounds very tasty, but if you order a smoothie (Smart Apple) very dirty fruits are processed. This is very unsavory. The guest room is nicely furnished, but the music is usually very loud, so you have to have a pretty loud conversation.

After waiting for over an hour (for a simple scrambled egg and a bagel), we were told very rudely by the kitchen staff that it could take at least 20-30 minutes, unbelievable.

Urban café with international vibes in the middle of Dresden's Neustadt. Here you can relax and/or meet people with a perfect view of the outside with a delicious smoothie, latte macchiato or Maybe Baby tea. The delicious, sugar-free Chai Latte is also perfect - you rarely get that otherwise! There is a large selection of delicious and healthy dishes, such as salads, pancakes or veggie food that you can put together yourself. In summer you can sit comfortably outside. Prices have become a bit borderline, but unfortunately they are not inferior to other large cities. :/ By the way, the service is always very nice and accommodating.

Reading “Sandwich ToGo” as we walked past, went in and ordered. Had the chili chicken sandwich. It was also very quick, but unfortunately the sandwich came very poorly packaged, with a separate salad in an extra box. Unfortunately it fell apart - with ToGo I thought I could eat it ToGo. Unfortunately the taste was very bland and the combination was unsuitable for me (peanut butter, cream cheese?) although I like to eat sweet, spicy and savory combinations. So I don't necessarily have to go there again.

We wanted to have breakfast in the Elbsalon today. According to the website it is open from 7:00 a.m. We were there at 7:45 a.m. and at first we were surprised why some of the chairs were still on the tables. Since the door was wide open, we went in and asked if it was possible to sit down. The staff pointed out their changed opening hours (8:00 a.m.) and asked us to leave. We were made aware of a bakery opposite where we could get coffee. When we pointed out the 7:00 a.m. time according to the website, the "cook" came and stated in a very unfriendly and rude manner that the website was no longer maintained and that we were not allowed in 15 minutes before the current opening time. We are very angry and disappointed. They could have at least let us in, we would have waited 15 minutes to order Unfortunately, customer friendliness looks different! Unfortunately, we will no longer go to the Elbsalon because of this behavior.

After several visits, unfortunately a bad rating for the food is due. This time, with two identical dishes, one was served, as expected, on crispy wheat sourdough and the other on wholemeal loaf bread. When asked, they said that's just the way it is, and it would be desirable to at least serve it straight away when the order was placed. The poached eggs have always been too hard. The green decoration on the food is sometimes very wilted. With proper quality management in the kitchen, a lot could be improved here.

We wanted to have a nice breakfast with a group of girls and reserve a table for it...impossible! We tried over the phone on several days without success. An online option to reserve would be contemporary, but not here. Then I wrote an email asking for a reservation, and even after 3 days there was no response. Why should we bring our money here?! Customer service starts with reserving a table.

In my opinion, the prices are slowly becoming a bit outrageous. The ambience and location are still nice.

This morning I had breakfast in the Elbsalon from 10 to 10:30 a.m. I'm calling breakfast London. Everything was very good. The Elbsalon restaurant offers something for everyone from breakfast to pasta. My conclusion: I would love to come back.

Food tastes delicious and appears to be of high quality. But too expensive

Unfortunately, overall a disappointment, I ordered vegan banana pancakes and received three small, round-shaped slime patties that didn't taste like banana and were sour for some reason. The porridge from my companion was also very bland, I think the 90c surcharge for oat milk was harsh and it smelled in the toilet. Overall, it doesn't seem like much effort.

Nice place for breakfast, the food was very good, nicely presented and prepared. The service tries hard and is very nice. Delicious coffee. I recommend scrambled eggs ;-)

Considering that you have to collect your food yourself without a cashier, get the food from the counter yourself and bring the dishes back yourself, I find the prices extremely overpriced! I had poached eggs on bread and wanted avocado with it. I got the bread with egg + an extra plate with half an avocado for a whopping €3.50 more! Since there was no service other than a chef + the prices were way too expensive, I wouldn't recommend this shop.

The only thing, that I can say is that the meal was incredibly delicious. It was really interesting, because I ordered Chicken Toast and there were three pieces of bread with peanut butter, some kind of soft cheese, salad and some fried citrus!! I didn’t manage to find out what it was, but it tastes mouthwatering! And the smoothie was without sugar or sth, it tasted pretty healthy and unobtrusively:) But unfortunately the toilets were not so good, the smell is bad, and there was a motion sensor on the light lamp, it was really unconventional and uncomfortable, when every minute while I was fixing my makeup in front of the mirror, the light was off and it was fully dark. Anyway the girl, who took my order was really nice and the chef looked pretty professional

Somehow I keep trying this store and getting disappointed. Bad, unfriendly service and recurring misunderstandings regarding the order. I think the shop and the food have potential, but the service and the associated lack of coordination always make the whole thing mad for me 😔😮‍💨

Today I chose Elbsalon for breakfast, the food was nice and the ambience was good. the Cappuccino with oats milk was very nice. it is a self service place and the only thing that i kind of didn't like was that it took 40 min. to prepare the order. Recommended, must try 🐰

I've been here several times and it's always been delicious. Unfortunately, the service is super unfriendly and doesn't even look at you or say hello. It's a shame that hospitality is so neglected.

Really not tasty, the fried eggs were too salty, the French toast was soaked in fat, the fruit was overripe and a bit overcooked. Service unmotivated, outdoor area unkempt.

The cafe has a nice location. The prices are completely okay and the quality is very good. I'm looking forward to going there with my girlfriend.

Breakfast is great value for money. Unfortunately we received a stale espresso that was only reluctantly replaced with a fresh one!

The service person at the checkout gave incorrect information. The bagel was neither grilled nor warm. In addition, wishes were ignored due to allergies. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was very mild and not warm. It's a shame, because the decor is very nice!

I had a large goat cheese sandwich, which didn't live up to its description of "grilled & warm" at all. I didn't think €10 was a fair price. The coffee was okay, the service was a bit unfriendly and not open-minded.

I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread with avocado and cottage cheese. It was delicious, but it wasn't sourdough bread. A pity. The coffee crema tastes good. The service is very unfriendly. There wasn't even a good morning or other greeting. My husband even wanted to leave again. It's a shame that the waitress can't smile or greet you.

We had the french toast and the caramel banana and apple porridge, both were good. Also had a latte macchiato and a smoothie.

Too bad, that was nothing. Forever ordering process, no hello, please, thank you. 40min. Waiting time for 2 grilled sandwiches, which unfortunately came to the table cold. The meat and toast were fried for too long and were therefore dry and hard. The knife had no chance. The side salad and sandwiches were carelessly prepared; there was only a hint of dressing on the salad. Questions about waiting times and quality were answered with irrelevant, unhelpful platitudes and shrugging of the shoulders. There is no interest in guest or satisfaction, but at least it is very expensive. Never again

I find the prices outrageous for the fact that you get 0 service. The employees at the checkout haven't really been friendly so far and the dishes taste more like 7/11 than really fresh and tasty.

Bright, clean, modern, friendly. Self-service with an alarm when you can pick it up; It went pretty quickly, but there wasn't much going on. The food (bagel with salad) was fresh and tasty. Prices completely ok :-)

Salmon bagel for 18.50 with lots of salmon and avocado but no cream cheese. Unfortunately there was silver skin on the salmon and a bone in it. The bagel is a bun with a hole. Unfortunately it has absolutely nothing to do with a real bagel and is correspondingly dry. The coffee was ok but expensive for self service. Plus, you don't know the difference between flat white and a latte.

I've had a gastronomy shock. I worked in the catering industry for years. The waitress was 100% motivated not to. You come into the restaurant and don't get a friendly reception. She was sitting in front of the bar, more occupied with her cell phone than with her work. You had to take your own drinks and menu. Then you have a nice self-service sign on the table. Okay, but the Va... offers more friendliness and service with this model. When there is so little going on, there should be time for proper care. Unfortunately, the toilet was only semi-clean. What the restaurant scores with is the quality of the drinks and food. Uncooled water should always be available. The food was really really great, Visually and tastefully. And the chef seems to enjoy his craft. But with such service there is little chance of a tip, unfortunately. And finally, clear the tables yourself. If the quality of the products weren't there you could also go with the big M. The atmosphere is great and fits very well into the new town. This is only intended as a suggestion for improvement. Was visiting in the evening on February 6th, 2024.

Industrial look and ambience, there is self-service, the selection and the food was delicious! The “big” latte macchiatto was bigger than my hand 😊

Rarely have I eaten something that contains so many good and beautifully prepared ingredients. Unfortunately it still doesn't taste good. It looks nice and the ingredients are of very high quality, but unfortunately the taste is always disappointing. This doesn't apply to the baked goods, they are very good and the hot drinks are also delicious. The problem partially arises again with the cocktails. Having been a restaurateur myself, I would say the chefs don't do taste checks. You have to take the time and check the taste of the things or have them checked. If the chefs don't notice anything, then the fine palate is obviously missing in the kitchen. This is a problem in the long term. You can conjure gold out of “nothing” and out of gold… In combination with a petulant character as a chef, the matter would be sealed. I don't know if that's the case, but I go there again and again because I like the atmosphere and always experience the same disappointments for a lot of money.

Not bad, but the price doesn't justify nor the quality neither the quantity.

2 days in a row I ordered and payed for flat white. What I got instead was a huge cup with tons of milk which was probably latte. You can’t do that if you charge 4.5 for a coffee and 17 for a sandwich. Specialty is about the service not only about the price.

Wir hatten die pochierten Eier mit Avocado, die lecker waren. Das Ambiente ist leider nicht so gemütlich, die Tische sind sehr klein, sodass man sich in der Regel nebeneinander auf die Bank setzen muss, wenn eine Person nicht auf einem kleinen, harten Hocker sitzen soll. Auch hat das Bestellen ca. 15min gedauert und Löffel sowie Glas waren klebrig.

Das Essen war geschmacklich gut. Die Einrichtung ist schick aber schlecht umgesetzt. Das Platzangebot könnte besser sein. Der Service, Selbstbedienung mit langem Anstehen, ist nicht gut im Vergleich zu den aufgerufenen Restaurant-Preisen. Wer Kaffee mit veganer Milchalternative möchte zahlt einen Aufpreis. Für Hafermilch 0,90€...

Bzw ein Teil der Gruppe, hat nach 40 min gegessen, der andere Teil nach 70. So ist als Gruppe gemeinsam zu frühstücken unmöglich. Wenn man dazurechnet, dass man um überhaupt zu bestellen schon 20 min ansteht, ist das echt schade. Die Preise sind trotz Selbsbedienung bis hin zum abräumen des Geschirrs sehr hoch. Das essen schmeckt gut, aber das drumherum verdirbt einem leider die Laune.

Es ist ganz schön und gepflegt hier. Leider schmeckt der Chai Latte aber ziemlich eklig und wässrig. Trotzdem zu empfehlen. ( Tipp: Cookies schmecken sehr )

Gutes Essen, aber viel zu hohe Preise für ein SB-Lokal mit Imbiss-Ambiente. 2x Bagel, 2x Kaffee und 2x Saft für über 50 Euro 😯. Haben die Preise erst viel zu spät gecheckt, ansonsten wären wir zum Bäcker oder ins Café nebenan gegangen.

The food was not specially tasty and it felt plain. The price is way too expensive for auto service, and we had to clean our table ourselves. It has a nice atmosphere for meeting with friends or clients, but sadly the breakfast was not the best.

Liebes Personal, wirklich leckeres Frühstück und leckere Kuchen

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, nur werden die Preise immer heftiger. Vor allem dafür, dass man sich da den Service spart. Für 2 Stullen, einmal Rührei, 2 Kaffee knapp 70€ ist schon eine Hausnummer.

This place was well placed on the corner and the decor was kind of a bit more up market which obviously speaks to the prices, however the proof was in the pudding or not shall we say. The eggs with ham and hollaindaise sauce was maybe the worst I’ve had in that the hollaindaise was passable and the eggs ok, but the ham really didn’t taste that great and now I worry about food poisoning and the chicken pasta my girlfriend sent back due to the chicken tasting and smelling not right. Additionally, we had an additional 6eucharge in the bill from no where and when we sent the food back they initially didn’t want to offer a refund for the pasta even though we had barely touched it. My opinion is don’t go here until the place has had some kind of revamp. They did offer a refund for the pasta in the end. The place has a lot of potential if someone starts to run it with love and care.

Sehr teuer, Self-Service, Getränke nicht gekühlt, essen leider für den Preis nicht überweltigend und die Portion ist auch nicht zu groß ausgefallen. Danke, einmal reicht.

The first time I went there about 4-5 years ago I was most impressed. I like their fresh juices, pancakes, oatmeal, some baked goods… it’s a half self serve system. The last time we went, we could barely eat the lentil soup because they put way too much spices (cumin, coriander). The quinoa bowl was ok but lacks a lot of flavour. Their coffee is ok but not the best. I wish they served better bread with the soup too.

Es ist ein schöner Ort um sich reinzusetzen und sich mit anderen zu unterhalten oder zu arbeiten. Die Auswahl und Speisen sind gut, jedoch finde ich es doch etwas überteuert.

Das Früstücksangebot ist gut, Service Selbstbedienung, die Damen an der Theke sind tagesabhängig gelaunt, dafür sind die Köche an der Ausgabe sehr freundlich und das Ambiente ist in die Jahre gekommen. Bemängelnswert ist die Sauberkeit der Toiletten.

Das Ambiente, die Einrichtung und Musik sind gut. Ein schönes, großes Café für Familien oder mit Freunden. Die unterschiedlichen Kakaos waren etwas schwach im Geschmack. Ich hatte mehr erwartet. Der Marmorkuchen war leider nicht mit Butter oder Margarine gebacken, sondern auf amerikanische Weise mit Öl. Das ist zwar preiswerter aber vom Geschmack her echt ein Verlust. In allem, ein schöner Ort mit leider nur durchschnittlicher Gastronomie.

Wir hatten uns sehr auf das Frühstück gefreut. Wartezeit war sehr lang. Das Essen war ok, aber für den Preis nicht gerechtfertigt, ebensowenig wie für die Selbstbedienung. Der Smoothie war absolut nicht lecker und auch hier der Preis viel zu hoch. Ambiente war ok, Musik viel zu laut. Wir haben 55€ gezahlt und das hätten wir uns lieber gespart.

Leider ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis suboptimal und von außen wirkt es einladender als es ist. Ich wäre auch länger geblieben aber leider gab es auch kein W LAN für Gäste. An der Kasse gab es leider eine Warteschlange und Besteck war nicht ausreichend aufgefüllt.

Wir waren gestern zum Frühstück im Elbsalon. Das Essen und die Getränke waren wie immer sehr lecker. Rührei, Pancakes und Croissant waren perfekt auf den Punkt und fluffig. Die Smoothies schmecken intensiv fruchtig, sind sehr gut abgestimmt. Leider schien die Mitarbeiterin am Tresen/Kasse schlecht drauf zu sein, wir wurden kaum eines Blickes gewürdigt. Im Gegensatz zu sonst ein unfreundlicher Empfang.

The worst Flat White ever.... (and that for € 4.30 each!). It needs to be really strong, but this looked like tea with milk, and tasted like it, in a huge cup, almost a soup bowl. The barista's did prepare a new one for us, but only after stating that this is the usual and only way to make it, and that we are probably used to Starbucks coffee. (Never been to Starbucks in my life..., but yes, we do visit good coffee places regularly). Breakfast: the toast with berries and cream was good, but also for a sturdy € 11,30...

Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Zwar sind die Preise recht ordentlich, jedoch passt die Qualität und Menge. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und das Ambiente hat uns gut gefallen. Es dauert zwar ein wenig, bis das Essen fertig ist,es war frisch und da störte uns das nicht. Die Getränke waren ebenfalls gut. Wir sind am nächsten Tag erneut zum frühstücken gekommen und waren wieder sehr zufrieden.

Das Essen war lecker und der Koch auch sehr nett, aber die Preise für zwei 50 Eur und dann noch Selbstbedienung ist ziemlich teuer!!! Der Service geht aber leider gar nicht... sehr unfreundlich und arrogant und man müsste auch lange warten bis die uns überhaupt ernst nehmen... war unser erster Besuch und auch der letzte...

Bestellung aufgeben und nichts erhalten. Nicht empfehlenswert

Optisch sind die Gerichte sehr nett anzusehen und auch die Einrichtung ist stylisch. Geschmacklich war unser Essen jedoch ziemlich langweilig und trocken. Etwas mehr Dressing hätte hier vermutlich Wunder gewirkt. Ausnahme war die Tomaten-Orangensuppe, da gab es wirklich nichts auszusetzen, die war einfach lecker. Zum Bestellprozess: die Bedienung wirkte sehr teilnahmslos und desinteressiert und es hat einige Zeit gedauert, bis meine Bestellung an der Kasse überhaupt aufgenommen wurde. Der Koch war sehr nett, dennoch hat es fast vierzig Minuten gedauert bis unser Essen fertig war.

Ich war mit dem Essen bisher immer zufrieden, es ist zwar teuer, aber dafür schmeckt es auch. Die Bedienung ist leider nicht so freundlich, sonst hätte ich auch etwas Trinkgeld gegeben. Es gibt außerdem eine tolle Auswahl an Zeitschriften, fernab ab von Gala und Co.

Das Pastrami Sandwich hat leider für fast 14 € nicht geschmeckt. Mit einer dünnen Scheibe Pastrami und sonst nur Gemüse, hat es eher wie ein Gemüse Sandwich geschmeckt. Sonst leider viel zu teuer, Service gibt es keinen. Nicht zu empfehlen. Schade.

Das Essen ist hier immer lecker, wenn auch mit Selbstbedienung

Mein erster Besuch hier Wir haben zu zweit 50€ bezahlt = steht nicht im Verhältnis bei Selbstbedienung Aber war alles lecker und schön angerichtet. Der Koch war klasse drauf aber die Bedienung könnte mal etwas lächeln und eine freundlicher Körpersprache anwenden Geringe Wartezeit Location ist sauber und direkt an der Köni immer was zu sehen (muss man mögen) oder nimmt drinnen einen Tisch wo rs ruhiger ist

Heute auf Empfehlung hierher gekommen. Hätte ich nur mal die Bewertungen vorher gelesen. Scheinbar interssieren diese den/die Besitzer jedoch nicht. Es befand sich eine Kundin im Lokal, die gerade gegessen hat. Wir standen mehrere Minuten an der Bestelltheke und es kam niemand. Wir sind dann um die Ecke gegangen und erst dann kam eine nicht wirklich freundliche Bedienung, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Die Pasta mit Salcica, die mein Mann bestellen wollte, wurde mit den Worten des Kochs abgeschmettert, dass dies mind. 30 Minuten dauern würde, da er die Wurst erst auftauen müsse. Wir haben uns dann leider beide für die Bowl mit Beef entschieden, welche lieblos, geschmacksneutral und wenige Zutaten enthaltend, immerhin nach kurzer Zeit fertig war. Kurze Zeit später hat sich der Koch erst mal eine Pizza von nebenan geholt. Ob es ihm hier wohl selbst nicht schmeckt?! Preis Leistung stimmt hier überhaupt nicht und der Service leider auch nicht. Einzig 2 Sterne für die nette Einrichtung. Schade, dass man hier nicht mehr draus macht.

Der Elbsalon hatte vor vielen Jahren gute Ambitionen und trotz der Selbstbedienung mit seinem Charme überzeugt. Damals standen zwei freundliche Personen hinter der geschmackvollen Theke. Im letzten halben Jahr war ich zweimal dort und bin sehr erschrocken: - Das Personal begrüßt/kommuniziert nicht - eine Person für Annahme und Getränke herstellen - lange Wartezeiten - “Ich hätte gerne einen Smoothie.” (Für 8,20€!!!!) Antwort: “Gibts nicht mehr.” - Cappucino Tasse kaputt Ich denke, Art und Weise gibt so einem besonderen Ort seinen Charme. Leider kann die wunderschöne Inneneinrichtung & mega fancy Siebträgermaschine so viel Abwesenheit nicht wegrationalisieren. Schade.

War früher leider definitiv besser! Und auch deutlich günstiger… Preis-Leistung stimmt hier nicht so ganz und das Essen ist auch nicht mehr so gut wie es mal war. Da gibt es deutlich bessere Alternativen

Zwei kleine Käseecken, eine Hand voll Nüsse von Penny, samt Croissant lieblos auf einen Teller geworfen, etwas Marmelade und Honig dazu für 14,60 Euro..?! Der seltsam säuerlich schmeckende Kaffee ist nicht inclusive. - Selbstbedienung und am Ende darf man Besteck, Essensreste und Teller selbst trennen und auf einem dafür vorgesehen Wagen stapeln..?! Ja, so ist das im Elbsalon. Und das muss wohl so sein, wenn nur 2 Mitarbeiter*innen (einer Küche, eine hinterm Tresen) das alles am Sonntagmorgen am Laufen halten müssen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht.

Schade der Elbsalon - als früher wirklich gutes Frühstückslokal - hat qualitativ wirklich sehr abgenommen. Die Speisen werden total lieblos serviert und auch die Zusammensetzung der Zutaten scheint eher “huschhusch” auf den Teller geworfen als geschmacklich abgestimmt. Das Konzept in Theorie schön aber in der Praxis nicht mehr empfehlenswert. Dafür gibt es in der Umgebung einfach sehr viele Lokale, die weitaus mehr zu bieten haben.

Schönes Ambiente, jedoch sind die Preise sehr hoch und die Qualität für dieses Verhältnis nicht überzeugend (Getränke für 4/5€ sind geschmacksneutral). Dazu war das Personal am Tresen eher unsympathisch.

Bestellung wurde vergessen. Nach ca. 1 Stunde hungrig gegangen. Die „Entschuldigung „ erfolgte mit dem Charme einer Abrissbirne. Einfach entsetzlich… NIE WIEDER !!!

It’s really difficult to find a good coffee place in Dresden. Mostly all of them have this automatic coffee machine that makes awful coffee so if you are looking for a good cafe this is a must! Good things should be share!

Das Essen ist gut. Küchenpersonal wirklich zuvorkommend. Der Cappuccino ist leider nicht gelungen. Zu heiss, Hafermilch ohne Kommentar. Die Bedienung dürfte einfach mal freundlich lächeln und zeigen das sie gern für die Gäste da ist. Total bedauerliche Entwicklung in den letzten 1,5 Jahren. Schade, denn das Konzept vom Elbsalon ist durchdacht und wirklich gut.
