Elbsalon in Dresden

It's a shame, I used to enjoy coming here, but since the change in ownership, it's all about profit. The quality of the food has declined significantly and is completely disproportionate to the price. The prices for the shakes are absurd, and since the renovation, all the cozy atmosphere has been lost. Where there used to be a comfortable sofa area, there are now uncomfortable and terribly lit benches with cheap artificial flowers.

Mediocre scrambled eggs from a carton. Served with three wilted arugula leaves. The cheese I ordered was sliced ​​cheese. Far too expensive for what you get.

The breakfast (poached eggs) was good, but nothing special for the price. Selling a slice of bread with a bit of ham and an egg on top for almost 13 euros is really out of proportion.

I've been a regular customer for many years and enjoy sitting there. Sometimes I work there for an hour or two. Sometimes I eat there with friends. I really like the food selection. The banana pancakes are my favorite. The staff are always friendly. The food is always perfect. PS: They don't serve alcohol.

Menu and atmosphere is lovely, but unfortunately service and cost-to-quality ratio has much to be improved. Despite restaurant being nearly empty (only 4 other customers), it took nearly a half hour for our food to be ready (exactly 27 minutes from ordering for two drinks and two plates). €14 for a tiny sandwich of basic white bread, dry chicken, and an overwhelming amount of lettuce was a bit disappointing.

If you like a student atmosphere, this is the place for you. We stopped by for breakfast out of curiosity. The place operates on a self-service basis with a guest pager. However, the friendly man at the food counter helped carry food without being asked. We liked that. The food itself was amazing: somehow Turkish-influenced, very plentiful and varied... and it tasted excellent.

Fresh. Delicious. Original. That's what immediately comes to mind when I think of the Elbsalon. It's a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and simply take a break. I just love it here. The cool thing is that you pay when you order. When you're done, you simply clear away your used dishes and leave. That's how beautifully uncomplicated and simple a restaurant can be. I'd be happy to come back any time!

All in all, a rather poor experience. Unfortunately, it took about 90 minutes for the last of us to get our food, and the first few were already finished by the time the last dish arrived. On top of that, everything is self-service, and by everything, I really mean everything – from ordering to bringing the food to clearing the dishes. The quality of the food left a lot to be desired, and the price isn't cheap either.

It was our first visit to Elbsalon for brunch. It's self-service, and you order and pay for everything at the counter. Drinks can be taken to your table after a short while. However, we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was half full. The sandwiches and breakfasts were delicious, but at €16-18 per portion, they were relatively expensive, and the plates were arranged in a cluttered manner. The location itself is hip, but the self-service concept means the value for money isn't right.

The chai latte was just watery milk and the music was really bad and loud and kept turning on and off

A true gem on the Elbe! Excellent food, lovingly prepared and full of flavor. The service was attentive and warm – you simply feel at home here. We'd be happy to return!

If gluten-free pasta is offered, it should also be available as a complete meal. It didn't work.

The restaurant relies on self-service and direct payment. This means you don't have to wait for service when paying, which is very convenient if you're pressed for time. The selection is good. Drinks were very tasty. The food was okay. We once had poached eggs on sourdough bread, which was fine but quite expensive. And porridge, which was tasty, but the berries were unfortunately from the freezer, except for a few blueberries. They also skimped on chia seeds. Overall, I would have preferred fresh fruit. Service was friendly, and you didn't have to wait forever for the food. The atmosphere was chic.

Unfortunately, the cafe did not live up to my expectations. The food was not very tasty on 2/5. I also ordered a matcha latte, it was the worst matcha I've ever tasted. Keep in mind that this is a self-service cafe, which added to the not-so-pleasant experience. the food looked nothing like that, but the taste... Price and quality do not match in relation.

We liked the atmosphere in the restaurant, the menu has a great selection. The drinks were very tasty, the breakfast unfortunately less so. Some things, such as the spreads, the porridge or the vegetable pancakes, tasted very tasteless. The staff was very nice and the food was quick and freshly prepared. I wouldn't come again, especially because the dishes were quite expensive.

Price-performance is absolutely not right. A large tea €7.80. Tea in a bag...

They have breakfast until 16:00, which I think is great. Coffee and hot chocolate was good. We ordered the English breakfast menu and blueberry pancakes, pretty good portions and beautiful plating, but taste was just mediocre. The waiting time was also a little longer than expected

It's all very transactional. You talk to a lady that gives you a buzzer, you put your money in an automated coin counter and you clean up after yourself. That together with the higher than average prices and lower than average quality (the bread is old and what's with the nuts) has made this place an unpleasant experience.

I thought that 'breakfast' was meant to be something pretty much immediately available. Contrary to the expectations, we had to wait 30 min for our order.

Nice place, friendly staff. A little bit short on vegan alternatives and they were a little bit overwhelmed with requests regarding allergies. Coffee was crap, as usual in Germany, but the breakfast/brunch dishes were generous (but - why couldn’t there be more of the delicious baked beans for the French toast???) and well prepared. However, I missed bacon on the toast and the sheer amount of cheese knocked me out.

Unfortunately, friendliness and quality decrease here. For just under €10 you can get just one scrambled egg that fits on a dessert plate. The service doesn't look at you, doesn't smile and is hectic. Really a shame.

It's quite tasty, I just think the price-performance ratio is too high given the business principle of self-service, self-clearing and the payment method via machine and ordering at the counter. A no-go is that if you reserve 9 people, you get the worst and most uncomfortable table in the entire store. That doesn't work at all. Why do I make reservations if I have to sit on hard stools without backrests right next to the entrance. Furthermore, the ordering process takes an infinitely long time, also a symptom of the personnel policy, there are only two people working. Overall, I can't recommend the store. Everything screams for maximum profit at the expense of staff and comfort, if you like it, you're welcome...not me.

Unfortunately the woman at the counter is in a very bad mood. The offer actually sounds very tasty, but if you order a smoothie (Smart Apple) very dirty fruits are processed. This is very unsavory. The guest room is nicely furnished, but the music is usually very loud, so you have to have a pretty loud conversation.

Urban café with international vibes in the middle of Dresden's Neustadt. Here you can relax and/or meet people with a perfect view of the outside with a delicious smoothie, latte macchiato or Maybe Baby tea. The delicious, sugar-free Chai Latte is also perfect - you rarely get that otherwise! There is a large selection of delicious and healthy dishes, such as salads, pancakes or veggie food that you can put together yourself. In summer you can sit comfortably outside. Prices have become a bit borderline, but unfortunately they are not inferior to other large cities. :/ By the way, the service is always very nice and accommodating.

After waiting for over an hour (for a simple scrambled egg and a bagel), we were told very rudely by the kitchen staff that it could take at least 20-30 minutes, unbelievable.

Reading “Sandwich ToGo” as we walked past, went in and ordered. Had the chili chicken sandwich. It was also very quick, but unfortunately the sandwich came very poorly packaged, with a separate salad in an extra box. Unfortunately it fell apart - with ToGo I thought I could eat it ToGo. Unfortunately the taste was very bland and the combination was unsuitable for me (peanut butter, cream cheese?) although I like to eat sweet, spicy and savory combinations. So I don't necessarily have to go there again.

We wanted to have breakfast in the Elbsalon today. According to the website it is open from 7:00 a.m. We were there at 7:45 a.m. and at first we were surprised why some of the chairs were still on the tables. Since the door was wide open, we went in and asked if it was possible to sit down. The staff pointed out their changed opening hours (8:00 a.m.) and asked us to leave. We were made aware of a bakery opposite where we could get coffee. When we pointed out the 7:00 a.m. time according to the website, the "cook" came and stated in a very unfriendly and rude manner that the website was no longer maintained and that we were not allowed in 15 minutes before the current opening time. We are very angry and disappointed. They could have at least let us in, we would have waited 15 minutes to order Unfortunately, customer friendliness looks different! Unfortunately, we will no longer go to the Elbsalon because of this behavior.

After several visits, unfortunately a bad rating for the food is due. This time, with two identical dishes, one was served, as expected, on crispy wheat sourdough and the other on wholemeal loaf bread. When asked, they said that's just the way it is, and it would be desirable to at least serve it straight away when the order was placed. The poached eggs have always been too hard. The green decoration on the food is sometimes very wilted. With proper quality management in the kitchen, a lot could be improved here.

We wanted to have a nice breakfast with a group of girls and reserve a table for it...impossible! We tried over the phone on several days without success. An online option to reserve would be contemporary, but not here. Then I wrote an email asking for a reservation, and even after 3 days there was no response. Why should we bring our money here?! Customer service starts with reserving a table.

In my opinion, the prices are slowly becoming a bit outrageous. The ambience and location are still nice.

This morning I had breakfast in the Elbsalon from 10 to 10:30 a.m. I'm calling breakfast London. Everything was very good. The Elbsalon restaurant offers something for everyone from breakfast to pasta. My conclusion: I would love to come back.

Unfortunately, overall a disappointment, I ordered vegan banana pancakes and received three small, round-shaped slime patties that didn't taste like banana and were sour for some reason. The porridge from my companion was also very bland, I think the 90c surcharge for oat milk was harsh and it smelled in the toilet. Overall, it doesn't seem like much effort.

Nice place for breakfast, the food was very good, nicely presented and prepared. The service tries hard and is very nice. Delicious coffee. I recommend scrambled eggs ;-)

Considering that you have to collect your food yourself without a cashier, get the food from the counter yourself and bring the dishes back yourself, I find the prices extremely overpriced! I had poached eggs on bread and wanted avocado with it. I got the bread with egg + an extra plate with half an avocado for a whopping €3.50 more! Since there was no service other than a chef + the prices were way too expensive, I wouldn't recommend this shop.

The only thing, that I can say is that the meal was incredibly delicious. It was really interesting, because I ordered Chicken Toast and there were three pieces of bread with peanut butter, some kind of soft cheese, salad and some fried citrus!! I didn’t manage to find out what it was, but it tastes mouthwatering! And the smoothie was without sugar or sth, it tasted pretty healthy and unobtrusively:) But unfortunately the toilets were not so good, the smell is bad, and there was a motion sensor on the light lamp, it was really unconventional and uncomfortable, when every minute while I was fixing my makeup in front of the mirror, the light was off and it was fully dark. Anyway the girl, who took my order was really nice and the chef looked pretty professional

Somehow I keep trying this store and getting disappointed. Bad, unfriendly service and recurring misunderstandings regarding the order. I think the shop and the food have potential, but the service and the associated lack of coordination always make the whole thing mad for me 😔😮‍💨

Today I chose Elbsalon for breakfast, the food was nice and the ambience was good. the Cappuccino with oats milk was very nice. it is a self service place and the only thing that i kind of didn't like was that it took 40 min. to prepare the order. Recommended, must try 🐰

Really not tasty, the fried eggs were too salty, the French toast was soaked in fat, the fruit was overripe and a bit overcooked. Service unmotivated, outdoor area unkempt.

The cafe has a nice location. The prices are completely okay and the quality is very good. I'm looking forward to going there with my girlfriend.

I had a large goat cheese sandwich, which didn't live up to its description of "grilled & warm" at all. I didn't think €10 was a fair price. The coffee was okay, the service was a bit unfriendly and not open-minded.

The service person at the checkout gave incorrect information. The bagel was neither grilled nor warm. In addition, wishes were ignored due to allergies. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was very mild and not warm. It's a shame, because the decor is very nice!

I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread with avocado and cottage cheese. It was delicious, but it wasn't sourdough bread. A pity. The coffee crema tastes good. The service is very unfriendly. There wasn't even a good morning or other greeting. My husband even wanted to leave again. It's a shame that the waitress can't smile or greet you.

We had the french toast and the caramel banana and apple porridge, both were good. Also had a latte macchiato and a smoothie.

The meat and toast were fried for too long and were therefore dry and hard. The knife had no chance. The side salad and sandwiches were carelessly prepared; there was only a hint of dressing on the salad. Questions about waiting times and quality were answered with irrelevant, unhelpful platitudes and shrugging of the shoulders. I find the prices outrageous for the fact that you get 0 service. The employees at the checkout haven't really been friendly so far and the dishes taste more like 7/11 than really fresh and tasty.

Bright, clean, modern, friendly. Self-service with an alarm when you can pick it up; It went pretty quickly, but there wasn't much going on. The food (bagel with salad) was fresh and tasty. Prices completely ok :-)

Salmon bagel for 18.50 with lots of salmon and avocado but no cream cheese. Unfortunately there was silver skin on the salmon and a bone in it. The bagel is a bun with a hole. Unfortunately it has absolutely nothing to do with a real bagel and is correspondingly dry. The coffee was ok but expensive for self service. Plus, you don't know the difference between flat white and a latte.

I've had a gastronomy shock. I worked in the catering industry for years. The waitress was 100% motivated not to. You come into the restaurant and don't get a friendly reception. She was sitting in front of the bar, more occupied with her cell phone than with her work. You had to take your own drinks and menu. Then you have a nice self-service sign on the table. Okay, but the Va... offers more friendliness and service with this model. When there is so little going on, there should be time for proper care. Unfortunately, the toilet was only semi-clean. What the restaurant scores with is the quality of the drinks and food. Uncooled water should always be available. The food was really really great, Visually and tastefully. And the chef seems to enjoy his craft. But with such service there is little chance of a tip, unfortunately. And finally, clear the tables yourself. If the quality of the products weren't there you could also go with the big M. The atmosphere is great and fits very well into the new town. This is only intended as a suggestion for improvement. Was visiting in the evening on February 6th, 2024.

Always friendly, always delicious and diverse. One of my favorite places for breakfast in Dresden.

Rarely have I eaten something that contains so many good and beautifully prepared ingredients. Unfortunately it still doesn't taste good. It looks nice and the ingredients are of very high quality, but unfortunately the taste is always disappointing. This doesn't apply to the baked goods, they are very good and the hot drinks are also delicious. The problem partially arises again with the cocktails. Having been a restaurateur myself, I would say the chefs don't do taste checks. You have to take the time and check the taste of the things or have them checked. If the chefs don't notice anything, then the fine palate is obviously missing in the kitchen. This is a problem in the long term. You can conjure gold out of “nothing” and out of gold… In combination with a petulant character as a chef, the matter would be sealed. I don't know if that's the case, but I go there again and again because I like the atmosphere and always experience the same disappointments for a lot of money.

2 days in a row I ordered and payed for flat white. What I got instead was a huge cup with tons of milk which was probably latte. You can’t do that if you charge 4.5 for a coffee and 17 for a sandwich. Specialty is about the service not only about the price.

Wir hatten die pochierten Eier mit Avocado, die lecker waren. Das Ambiente ist leider nicht so gemütlich, die Tische sind sehr klein, sodass man sich in der Regel nebeneinander auf die Bank setzen muss, wenn eine Person nicht auf einem kleinen, harten Hocker sitzen soll. Auch hat das Bestellen ca. 15min gedauert und Löffel sowie Glas waren klebrig.

Das Essen war geschmacklich gut. Die Einrichtung ist schick aber schlecht umgesetzt. Das Platzangebot könnte besser sein. Der Service, Selbstbedienung mit langem Anstehen, ist nicht gut im Vergleich zu den aufgerufenen Restaurant-Preisen. Wer Kaffee mit veganer Milchalternative möchte zahlt einen Aufpreis. Für Hafermilch 0,90€...

Die Idee ist gut, die Umsetzung funktioniert leider gar nicht. Wir waren an einem Dienstagvormittag zum frühstücken hier und haben trotzdem über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Bzw ein Teil der Gruppe, hat nach 40 min gegessen, der andere Teil nach 70. So ist als Gruppe gemeinsam zu frühstücken unmöglich. Wenn man dazurechnet, dass man um überhaupt zu bestellen schon 20 min ansteht, ist das echt schade. Die Preise sind trotz Selbsbedienung bis hin zum abräumen des Geschirrs sehr hoch. Das essen schmeckt gut, aber das drumherum verdirbt einem leider die Laune.
