The Schmitze Lang is actually a brewery with tradition in Cologne's southern city. Strangely enough, it's been opening and closing over the last year. The current change of ownership doesn't seem to have worked either. The food wasn't anything special and they serve 2 Kölsch on tap - something I've never seen before. Schmitze Lang has now closed again for operational reasons.

A promise is a promise. Of course, you never really feel like writing a review, even if you were extremely satisfied. And that was us. Especially with Pete, who migrated to the Hyatt from Switzerland. ^^ And I promised him a review. My 2nd sentence that I exchanged with Pete was: "I love the combination of class, quality and professionalism coupled with "no stick up my ass." And I think this sentence describes the entire atmosphere and my birthday evening in the glass house very accurately. ;)

We had ordered grilled plates, there was neither a skewer nor a piece of liver on the plate. The salad consisted of lettuce leaves without any vinegar, oil, or added dressing. I recommend everyone to avoid this restaurant and eat somewhere else.

Really nice shop. The service was very nice and on the ball. Unfortunately, the food on average was really not good. The bouillabaisse was still really tasty. The only thing you can complain about is that the fish-vegetable ratio wasn't quite optimal. The cordon bleu didn't taste good at all. If there really was mountain cheese in it, then it has lost all taste. Overall it was just plain lame. Likewise the Bœuf bourguignon. In any case, salt and a lot more were missing. If the weather is nice, it's definitely a good place to have a drink, but I wouldn't come back for food.
