I had a salad that was overpriced at €12 for what it was. But the service was very friendly!

Warning: Money trap! As a big poutine fan, I was thrilled by the menu, but my experience here left a bitter taste in my mouth. I recently ate at Frittenwerk with three friends. I suggested we go, even though I wasn't familiar with the chain myself. We had to place our order on a screen. At the end, the total came to €69, but we couldn't pay at the terminal. We then had to verbally re-enter our entire order to the staff so they could manually enter it into the till. To avoid any misunderstandings, we even showed them photos of the order screen. Despite this, we were suddenly quoted a price of €79 – even though we had only ordered an extra churro with white chocolate. There was no plausible explanation for this price difference. What was particularly unpleasant was the unfriendly behavior of the staff. They were speaking amongst themselves in an Afghan dialect and making jokes about the situation. One of my friends understands this language and pointed this out to the staff. However, nothing changed. We were offered no assistance; instead, we were practically pressured to pay the amount quoted at the register – without any clear explanation. When I finally received the receipt, it was confusing and chaotic, making the bill still incomprehensible. Overall, the visit was extremely frustrating and disappointing. This is neither my idea of ​​service nor professionalism in the restaurant industry. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending this Frittenwerk.

They gave me the wrong sauce. Way too greasy. At least there was a free table.

Food at train stations is often rather "functional" – which makes it all the more pleasant that Frittenwerk at Cologne Central Station was a positive surprise. I just wanted a quick snack, and it was perfect for that: well-prepared, perfectly tasty, and overall much better than you'd expect at such a location. 😊 What I also found interesting: the spices are presented in such a way that you almost automatically add more seasoning yourself. This is practical for customers (everyone according to their own taste) and also seems like a clever business solution – those who eat spicier food often end up wanting a drink more. Of course, that's just my impression, but the concept works. A definite option for a quick bite at the main train station – I would go again.

Oh well. The employee only fried the chicken bites for half the time he should have. The countdown timer on the fryer indicated this. Result: Chicken not cooked through. Furthermore, the extra charge I paid for Fire Fries was ignored, and regular fries were served instead. Next time, it's back to Burger King.

Vegan currywurst and fries, delicious! Better than McDonald's!

The currywurst was horribly bad. The sausage was still cold inside. And it took forever to prepare. But the guys working there probably hadn't even eaten a proper currywurst in their lives, so you can hardly blame them.

Great service, very friendly staff. The price-performance ratio is unacceptable. We had no idea it was possible to make a simple currywurst with fries so badly. The mayo and curry sauce were mixed together. The curry sauce tasted very cheap, and the fries were soggy and cold. Not a fan, won't be back.

I was there recently with my class, and even though there were so many of us, the staff were super friendly and took plenty of time for us! The sweet potato fries are highly recommended :)

I placed an order today and sat down to wait in line at the checkout. Four or five other people came in after me. Everyone received their order, so I got up and asked. Then the girl who had rung me up ten minutes earlier asked if I wanted to place an order. I said I had already ordered, and she said, "Oh yes, I'll do the order for you now." At that point, I canceled the order because I had neither the time nor the inclination to deal with this irresponsibility. She said to her colleague, "Yes, the cash register didn't give me a slip." Whatever that's supposed to mean? If it doesn't work without a slip, they could have taken care of it, especially since it was quiet and she was ringing up the customers herself. There was no apology or anything! The man at the register wasn't at fault. He canceled the order and apologized. A mistake might happen, but not in an empty store. Especially not when someone is incompetent enough to speak up and apologize.

The Frittenwerk at Cologne Central Station is the minimalist version of the chain. The pulled pork fries taste good, but are noticeably smaller – at prices that are more in the deluxe category. The vegan currywurst came with fried onions (unannounced, but apparently part of the surprise concept) and a rather meager side of fries. At the checkout, you're politely ignored – perhaps part of the relaxed atmosphere. Overall, it's okay, but I'm used to getting more fries for my money at other locations.

A modernly designed chip shop with very friendly staff; the fries were okay, but we've had better. Unfortunately, the sour cream tasted like nothing!

Unfortunately, the staff was very rude. The order was incomplete (it looked different in the photo with toppings, etc.). I received a lot of fries with a dab of cheese, which isn't the worst part. The two people at the register were extremely impatient and rude to me, and when I wanted to pack my food, they handed me the package without a word, with passive-aggressive behavior as if they wanted me out. So, unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

Unfortunately, I experienced unfriendly and disrespectful service on-site. Furthermore, our food portions were significantly smaller than those served to other customers. Having spent €22 there, I expected a reasonable portion, which was sadly not the case.

The food here is so yummy. The avocado chicken bombs with pink hummus is my personal favourite. The staff were so kind and attentive. Nive was super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Would definitely come again!

Not quite as nice as the store on Ehrenstraße, but still a recommendation. Delicious poutine, meaning fries with interesting toppings (reminiscent of existing dishes, such as fries with Bolognese sauce). It's the perfect waiting area, especially if you're waiting for a train on an empty stomach. Unfortunately, it's often quite crowded, as the store is rather small.

The staff tried hard but were constantly overwhelmed. In a tourist hotspot like a main train station, it's desirable to have several employees behind the counter. I waited over 30 minutes...

Normally I am relatively satisfied but recently there seems to be new staff who prefer to chat loudly in Hindi instead of taking orders or preparing the fries that have already been ordered

The staff were super friendly, even when a man shouted at them, even though he had just ordered fries with mayonnaise instead of fries with currywurst. The staff immediately offered to correct his order. Truly antisocial behavior (probably racially motivated). Respect to the staff for remaining friendly and calm!

The food came quickly. The staff was friendly. The fries tasted very good and were plentiful for a normal portion. Plenty of vegetarian options. Spices for you to add your own. What more could you want!

Absolutely delicious and generous portion sizes. I picked the Original Quebec Poutine which was creamy and filling.

Unfortunately, today's service was a complete disaster. Having to wait 21 minutes for chili cheese fries is abysmal. This was probably also due to the fact that several people ordered currywurst, which weren't even cooked properly, and it took even longer. However, on a Friday during peak hours, there were only two people behind the counter, which is probably not enough. I've had much better. The food wasn't very warm when it was delivered, hence only 3 stars. But the taste deserves 5.

Today, on my train ride, I went to Frittenwerk in Cologne Central Station. I had an avocado salad made to go. The salad had everything except avocado!!! I find that outrageous for the price. Since I was traveling by train, I obviously couldn't go back. Was that what you intended?

The food was good, but the service was not. It wasn't busy, but during my time there, mistakes were made with every third order: 2 orders were forgotten, 2 portions or extras were forgotten, and 1 was given the wrong takeaway.

If you’re heading to Frittenwerk, take note of my order and thank me later, it’s the ultimate combo! I had the Knoblauchfritten (garlic fries) with Paprika-Chili dip and the Crispy Chicken Sticks (6 pieces), and wow… perfection! The flavors hit just right, and it’s the kind of comfort food you’ll be craving again. Quick, satisfying, and seriously tasty. Don’t sleep on this one!

This was my second time there and I have to say that I have never been as disappointed by a branch as I was by this one. I ordered chicken bombs via the terminal and had to wait 25 minutes for my order. What was surprising was that it was practically empty. The employees stood there and chatted about personal things. When I politely asked after 10 minutes where my order was because my train would be arriving soon, I was told it would be ready. Another 15 minutes went by because it was simply forgotten. Afterwards my order was just slammed down. To top it off, the chicken bombs weren't even cooked properly. What a pity for you!

The vegan options are very filling and absolutely delicious. Ordering via terminal; unfortunately, no cash payment is possible. But everything is very well-organized. The lady working there during our visit was very nice, communicative, and not pushy. Highly recommended! The restaurant is located in the train station. We drove there and walked all the way across town just to eat there. It was worth the trip!

Unfortunately, things have declined considerably since new staff joined. Despite the larger number of employees, I have the feeling that even less is being done. You get your portion of fries very quickly, but you can taste that they weren't freshly made and have been sitting around for a while. Obviously, it's easier for the employees to prepare/keep larger portions warm and have them on hand immediately, so they have more time to chat. It's a shame, I'm often on the go, and stopping by Frittenwerk after work was my little highlight. Especially the three men who apparently worked there before (one of them with slightly browner skin and glasses) were always friendly and hard-working, despite the stress! I know it's all about 'fries,' so it's all the more sad that the new employees manage to screw that up. Why do they hire so many new people who can't even keep the few tables clean? 🤷🏻 Today was definitely my last time.

Really not good. I don't understand how you can like soggy fries soaked in sauce. The sausage in the currywurst was stale and unappetizing. The only thing that was good was the guacamole.

I recently visited Frittenwerk in Cologne and I was absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious – the fries were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the toppings were simply amazing. The poutine options, in particular, are a real insider tip! The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. You were greeted with a smile and immediately felt at home. The atmosphere in the shop is modern, cozy, and inviting. I'll definitely be back – I highly recommend it to everyone!

Sure, it's fast food—but with a few pleasant surprises. The vegan currywurst with fries is really tasty and filling. It's good value for money. The tables could be a bit cleaner, but overall, it's a solid spot for a quick snack. I enjoy coming back every now and then.

Unfortunately, the fries were very crispy and completely oversalted, and the currywurst is also not recommended. The trash can overflowed and there were food scraps everywhere on the floor.

The food tastes good, I always like to take something with me before I get on the ICE if I get the chance. I think it would be best if you could also order normal (not just vegan) mayo instead of "lemon aioli", which also tastes good, but not as good as normal mayo (and it's not real mayo). Otherwise, I think it's absolutely great that they offer churros, I love them, and I can only recommend the Currywurst Special.

I love the diversity of the fries. My choice tasted great and it was a decent portion. The price is high, you have to want to spend the money. However, it's worth it.

The fries were not very seasoned, a bit soggy and the sauces were absolutely unspectacular - except for the guacamole. It gave us the taste of old, over-hot garlic in our mouths for 24 hours. Because of the steep price, you can no longer turn a blind eye to it. For us this was an unreasonable price-performance ratio.

Unfortunately not a visit worth repeating. We generally know Frittenwerk and like the concept, but unfortunately the fries were inedible today. They were really chewy and looked as if they had been fried yesterday and then left standing. The vegan currywurst had a very nasty aftertaste, the Tijuana Street Fries toppings were just ok. Over €10 per portion is clearly too much for that. The store is decorated quite nicely, but of course you don't get the full experience of the main station atmosphere. Unfortunately I won't be coming back to this branch again.

I had the chicken shawarma poutine. The fries were excellent, as were the additional toppings except the chicken which was not very flavorful. I paid for a large order but it seemed to be the same size as a regular order. So it was good, but not great value.

Vegan sausages were fried together with meat in a deep fryer. Had to wait forever. At least 6 people ordered after me. They got there before me.

The Frittenwerk at Cologne Central Station is a kind of frit oasis in the middle of the station chaos. Food is great – crispy fries, sauces to put in, easily worth 4 stars! However, every now and then it is packed - no wonder when half of Cologne is waiting for the train and sweetening the waiting time with fries. Everything inside is immaculate, clean and really pretty, almost like a hip café. Outside though? Phew, sometimes loud like carnival, and the strange characters in front of the train station could easily film their own reality show. Nevertheless: overall it's really okay, and I would recommend it to anyone who is hungry and has a bit of humor!

After eating here, the whole group caught severe food poisoning... ultimately, not surprisingly, from a shop right next to the train station toilets :(

I love Frittenwerk! The vegan curry sausage in particular is awesome! Unfortunately we don't have this chain in Bremen, but when I'm in Köllen or Essen, that's the first thing I do. I was in this Frittenwerk branch today. The team was very friendly and spread a good mood. I can highly recommend the fries with pulled pork, super tasty. Since this location is located in the main station, there are of course local problems. While I was eating my fries, a smelly woman came in and promptly pounced on me. Before I could react, an employee was there and sent the smelly woman out. That's how it has to be!

I ordered the veggie chili-cheese variety and unfortunately it didn't taste good at all. In addition, the price is just under €10. If I had looked at the price beforehand, I would definitely have saved myself the disappointment. I certainly won't buy here again.
