Shibuya in Köln

Waited 1.5 hours for food. Two ramens arrived after 1.5 hours, and three other people at our table got their food after 30 minutes. We sat and watched them eat, or they would have had to eat something cold. Yeah. There were two other tables right next to us that had the same experience. It's really not well done here.

Ramen are very good, Dynamite Shrims 10 out of 10, spicy Salomon roll very good, dumblings very good. All in all 100% satisfied and this wasn't our last visit. Cozy little restaurant. BUT 0.5 STARS DEDUCTED BECAUSE ONLY CARD PAYMENT 😅.

Exceptional sushi, creative creations and heavenly baos – since Daikan moved into Nippes, it has delighted us with excellent taste and a feel-good atmosphere. A must for sushi lovers!

Very very tasty ramen. Our favorite ramen in all of Cologne. Come to town specifically for this. Really very nice atmosphere, even compared to the other location. Very nice and friendly staff :)

I was very happy that Daikan also has a branch in Nippes. However, my experiences so far have been mixed feelings. When I've been there it's always been chaos, unfortunately today too. The service staff is super nice, but they're totally lost trying to sort things out on their own and serve the customers at the same time. Staffing management should be reconsidered here. There are usually a lot of dirty dishes lying around, you have to wait a long time and you can only see your arms running from A to B. The food today was okay, but not particularly good, considering the prices are a bit higher. My Spicy Salmon Roll was mainly cucumber with a bit of salmon. The kimchi, however, was very tasty. The Spicy Shrimp Dumplings too. I also wanted Octopus Karage. Unfortunately that didn't exist. Instead I got dough balls that were supposed to contain octopus... the balls were not mainly filled with dough and a little bit of octopus. In addition to the chaos in the restaurant, I was allowed to look into the kitchen from my seat. Personally, I don't think that's a bad thing. In places where you can sit at the counter, I usually sit there to watch the chefs. Here I was looking into an absolutely messy kitchen. Unfortunately, that didn't make my experience any better. The food is beautifully presented, but there is a lot of coordination, staffing, etc. missing.

We’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times now. Always friendly service, usually quick delivery, food and drinks taste amazing (we love a good cocktail) but it’s a bit expensive though. Only thing I would complain about is that the furniture isn’t particularly comfortable and it’s more cramped than spacious. One could argue that this creates a lively yet intimate atmosphere… But one time we had a group of three friend sitting at the table NEXT to us. But because everything is so cramped and one of the girls talked so loud, it was literally impossible for us to have a conversation so we ended up listening to her job story as well and it was not a very good one 😆 If you are more lucky with your neighbours or go during the week (because it’s always full on the weekend so be sure to make a reservation ahead) it’s a perfect date spot in my opinion.

Very tasty, the portions are just way too small!

Very good restaurant. Food was 10/10, can highly recommend the miso ramen, was the best ramen I've personally had so far! The shrimp dumplings were also amazing. Service is also very accommodating and the ambience is great, although the men's toilet is a bit poorly maintained and, in my opinion, there could be more space between the tables. Nevertheless, 5 stars and clear recommendation.

The food was delicious and the portions were also large. The service was also quite nice, but we waited almost an hour for two frames and there was no explanation why it took so long until we asked ourselves. I would highly recommend the store except on weekends because the frames taste really good.

Overall, recommended if you're looking for good and simple Japanese cuisine. The service was very friendly, even though she was alone. This resulted in waiting times when ordering and clearing away. The dishes are served visually well and appearances are not deceptive, they are delicious and fresh. I missed meat options in the soup. The ambience is modern, spartan and dark. Unfortunately it was just cold in the restaurant. In fact, all 4 of us had cold feet at the end of the visit. The visit took place in January.

I'm more used to the Izakaya concept. The one in Karlsruhe is worlds better. There are special dishes here, but they are not that special for this price. You won't find raw fish in sushi here. There are no starter soups either. Everything I had tasted delicious, but the chef should practice wrapping sushi again. It's not worth the name Izakaya. The service was great. Ambience great for entertaining, nothing special otherwise.

Service was great, the young lady was very quick and friendly. Unfortunately, there was a lot of draft at our place, which made the otherwise chic ambience rather uncomfortable. The food is great, no question. However, the price is very, very high, so I ordered 4 sushi plates and 1 side dish for 80€, but two people who were very hungry were not completely full. The restaurant is great, but in my opinion there is no price/performance ratio, there are much fairer restaurants in Cologne.

What a beautiful shop with sooooo delicious food! The staff was super nice. Extra requests, such as converting the food to vegetarian, were no problem at all. We are already looking forward to the next time!

Unfortunately the soup is a bit small (see picture), but tastes very good! the atmosphere is great. I recommend making a reservation.

There were 8 of us at Daikan and the service was really excellent! Food was very tasty and the sushi was very well presented. The atmosphere was cozy and chic :) Only the path to the toilet felt like you were walking in a storage room.

Brilliant, lots of exciting little things, prepared and served with attention to detail. Really varied in taste and very clever and balanced!

Poor price-performance ratio: Unfortunately, sushi and tonkatsu bao were too heavily coated with fatty and sugary marinades and spices, so that the actual contents became a uniform taste. It looks nice and many people like it, but I don't like it. The white wines that were on the menu weren't available, so I got a Pinot Gris: too warm, undefined amount (somewhere between 0.13 and 0.17 l), didn't really appeal to me and for a mere 9.90 €/glass. The two of us had another dessert, the ice cream, where you get two scoops but you have to choose between desam and matcha. Too bad! I also find the selection of the tip amount when paying by card crazy: it starts at 10%... We still had a nice evening, which wasn't due to the food.

Good location in the heart of Nippes. Stylish location with excellent food. Not cheap but worth the money. Toilet a little outdated but will be renovated in December 2024.

Since the old "Shibuya" became the new "Daikan" a lot of things have changed for the worse. Unfortunately, the first drawback is that the prices are above average and bear no relation to the quality of the food. In addition, only card payments are possible - perhaps not a problem for some, but extremely inconvenient for me. The staff (the waitress) seemed very unsympathetic and unhelpful. What was particularly disappointing was that in a group we never got our food at the same time. One person always had to wait while the others had already eaten - very annoying and unprofessional. We had to ask ourselves about a lot of things that should actually be self-evident. (Cutlery?) Overall, unfortunately no MORE recommendation!

The shop is quite well located and cozy, but the service and food really weren't convincing. We had to wait a long time for our drinks even though there were only two tables occupied. The sushi was beautifully presented, but it really only tasted like the sauce that was on top. And the food was way too expensive for that. A small bowl of edamame cost seven euros, the sushi with eight rolls cost between 15 and 21 euros each, but it wasn't worth the price. We won't be coming back.

I celebrated my birthday there, we had a table at the back of the shop and unfortunately we weren't well looked after by the team. The first dish came much, much earlier than from the other people at the table. They didn't respond to the wishes: e.g. We didn't want the chicken for a ramen dish and wanted some salmon or prawns instead because one of us couldn't eat meat (we would have paid for it and they still didn't want to do that). We ordered a bowl without avocado and it still came with it. We had to ask for things several times and even in the end we had to wait a long time for the bill until we finally decided to come forward ourselves (there were 7 people). I think it's a shame that requests aren't taken into account and that you practically ignore your customers and don't worry or ask if everything is okay. We would have also ordered dessert but since no one came to our table we didn't do that either.

Super delicious food and super nice service. A small drawback: only card payment! I don't think that's correct because our currency is still the euro and it should be up to the customer whether they pay in cash or by card.

Nice shop, nice and fast service with attractive menu options. I had the Ship (?) Ramen and unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. There were far too many onions, both red onions and spring onions. The taste of the raw red onions went straight into the broth. The noodles were okay but overall I couldn't confirm the very positive reviews here.

It was my first time there and I wanted to get a picture. Unfortunately that wasn't so positive. I still want to go back and try it out. It was a Friday evening and the store was 2/3 full. We sat in the back where unfortunately you can't really be seen by the service staff. It took a very long time until we got the card. Ordering drinks and cocktails also took longer than usual. One meal came 15 earlier than the rest. After 1 hour of waiting we had food and drinks. There was a Kölsch on the house as compensation. Maybe we had a bad day. The waitress was very nice and apologized for everything taking so long.

Sry, charging 18 euros for a ramen and then only having one waitress in a full shop who was completely overwhelmed. Our ramen noodles came completely cooked so there was no liquid left. Waiting 15 minutes for Kölsch is a bit too much. Anyone who takes such prices should also deliver...

Average food at outrageous prices. 6x 🍣 for €21.90 is really bottomless for sushi rice that is too dry and fish that has a weak taste. Ramen was delicious but at €18.90 it was simply too expensive for the quantity. Service was very friendly, I won't let that happen 👍

The food is okay, but too expensive. Considering that there were three people in service, service almost didn't take place. When we then complained that our table was being wiped with the cloth that was being used to wipe the floor in front of us, the service staff counterattacked by saying that the sound wasn't right. Considering that the health department would close the store in the event of such a violation, the reaction was not customer-oriented. In addition, this created a feeling of unease because this unhygiene in connection with raw fish does not necessarily inspire confidence. Only during the payment process was it pointed out that only card payments were accepted. A notice in advance via a visible sign would have been advantageous. We will avoid the restaurant in the future!

Visually it's really cute there but unfortunately not worth a second visit... We came as a couple, it wasn't busy. We ordered an appetizer, a ramen and various bao buns. First came the Bao Buns, the starter was served at a stranger's table after the speech and they said they would copy it straight away and it would be on the house... However, we wanted it as a starter, but it didn't work out... Then we asked When the ramen came because we would like to eat together, it came 15 to 20 minutes later and the starter came again 10 minutes later... It wasn't ordered immediately as promised... Everything was a bit disorganized. .. The taste of the bao buns was ok, but there was far too much sauce on them so that the taste of the ingredients was drowned out and they all tasted the same and they were lukewarm. The ramen was a total failure. The broth was extremely neutral, cheap and not so good quality noodle and the meat was cold. The starter that came as dessert was quite good. When billing, the starter was billed almost twice, but this was immediately deleted after being contacted. The waitresses were always friendly and apologized. Conclusion: waste of money and not a second time.

Was once one of the best restaurants in Nippes. It still tastes good, but the prices are outrageous and disproportionately high. It's not worth it for that.

The food is quite nice, the night that I was there though the restaurant was understaffed. We were picking the ready plates from the bar by ourselves cause the only waitress had to serve 30 people at the same time. Not sure if this is decision from management but this way you burn out your staff members and you make your clients unhappy. The staff though was very sweet and apologized to us for the situation.

We ate there yesterday and were unfortunately very disappointed with the ramen. The broth really had hardly any taste, it was all cold and the ingredients were very rare. The Veggi Ramen cost the same as the Chicken Ramen, which is pretty cheeky. The service wasn't great either, unfortunately not recommended.

Stay away from the ramen... Both shoyu and miso ramen had more raw onion than any other ingredient. The vegetarian miso broth and the shoyu ramen broth were almost tasteless - the normal miso broth tasted okay. The noodles of all ramen dishes at our table were still two levels shy of aldente and the toppings were consistently cold. In addition, the chicken in the Shoyu Ramen was sour and inedible. At €16-18 per small bowl of ramen, this is far below what you would expect from the price. Our original plan was the newly opened Takumi around the corner, which we ended up not visiting due to a more authentic meal at the Shibuya Bar. From now on we will avoid the Shibuya Bar completely because the ramen doesn't even meet the minimum requirements of Japanese cuisine: passion for cooking

The DAIKAN in Nippes has a little less selection than the DAIKAN in Belgium, but the taste is just as good. Only the ramen noodles weren't that good. I've had much better things. But the rest of the ramen was delicious. The other dishes also taste very good. Can definitely be recommended. Especially if you like takoyaki.

It's no longer Shibuya and unfortunately it's not recommended. The food is ok but too expensive and the service is hopelessly overloaded. To do this, the tables are cleaned with an agent that takes away the air and has a terrible chemical smell, which can really spoil your meal and is simply not possible. There is still a lot that needs to be improved...

Employees are completely overwhelmed (due to pick-up sales) and are therefore inattentive and service is almost non-existent. The sushi rolls were delicious, the price for the money was really impossible, cold broth, ground up inedible chicken and a leaf of pack choy for €1 more. A glass of Chardonnay for €9.90 was also just cheap crap. The access to the toilet was "decorated" with beer barrels left and right. Where is the boss who cares? None, a waste of money, we won't be coming back.

I can only agree with the predecessor. The soup is just disgusting. Tasteless, loveless, cold, raw red onions, the bowl half full. A disgrace for this price. Absolutely no recommendation!

Stay away from the ramen!! We had the ramen with charlottes and “chicken”. Ramen was very expensive for a small bowl. There were more raw shallots in it than anything else. The chicken was inedible! It didn't taste like chicken and had a lot of greasy and wobbly stuff. Couldn't eat it. 40€ for two ramen and two iced teas is really too much for what you got.

Since the “rebranding” we love coming even more! The ramen, the gyozas, the bao buns and the crispy roll spring are all great every time 🥰 also to go

could be best sushi in cologne -- nippes definitely, i personally haven't tried them all. best tuna i've found though, gyoza, miso soup all solid. update: my new menu for 2 = edamame with salt chicken wings octopus karage dragon roll crazy tuna tuna -- this is now spicy tuna, not as crazy as the old one but oh well (while you wait, 1 round of sake and/or kirin)

If I could, I would move in here. We were here on two evenings in a row during our visit to Cologne. Once the food came quickly, once we had to wait a long time. It wasn't clear to us why, because it was neither super empty nor packed on both evenings (Friday evening and Saturday evening). The food was always amazing. Without exception, everything was extremely tasty. Be sure to try the iced tea and the chocolate gyoza. I could eat the veggie bowl every day. Also great for those with nut allergies. According to the restaurant, no nuts are processed and no nut oil is used. Our family's nut allergy sufferers were able to eat everything.

Es war spitze u früher sind wir gerne gegangenen sehr gute Qualität aber nach Corona keine Ahnung aber so schlecht von der Qualität, das Hähnchen wie pressfleisch u man kann nur mit Karte zahlen. Das unterstützte ich nicht. Daher geh ich nicht mehr hin. Schade

Shibuya enttäuscht nie - Sushi Erstklasse, zwar nicht billig, aber ist Sushi ja selten, aber es lohnt sich!

Also wenn man sehr gut Sushi essen will dann NUR hier !!! Wir mussten zwar 1h auf unser Essen warten (Samstagabend, vilt wenig Personal, warum auch immer) und das Essen war auf den Platten durcheinander serviert, aber als das Essen da war und es probiert wurde, war all das vergessen 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Sehr sehr sehr leckeres Sushi !!!!

Lecker und freundlich, die Lage an der Hauptstraße und etwas abseits machen es nur etwas ungemütlich. Man möchte nicht unnötig lange sitzen bleiben.

Das Essen war spitze! Einfach super!

Anfangs sind wir gerne hier essen gegangen und waren auch öfter da. Seit die uns Anwohnern aber die Parkplätze weggenommen haben, boykottieren wir und andere Nippeser diesen Laden. Die Parkplatzsituation war ohnehin schon schwierig und jetzt kamen die im letzten Jahr an und mieteten die Parkplätze (3 an der Zahl) dauerhaft bei der Stadt Köln an um ihre Tische und Stühle da aufzubauen wo sowieso nie einer sitzt. Kommen hier nicht mehr hin!

Sie nehmen kein Bargeld an. Ich finde, es ist kein guter Service, wenn man den Kunden keine Wahlmöglichkeit gibt. Ich werde erst wieder hingehen, wenn sie das Bargeld annehmen.

0,2 Kölsch für 3,40€! Unverschämt!

Leider konnte die Qualität des Essens und des Services nicht überzeugen. Vor einigen Jahren waren wir regelmäßig zu Gast. Damals waren die Gerichte liebevoller zubereitet, die Qualität der Speisen hochwertiger und der Service schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam. Schade…

Qualitative Speisen zu höheren Preisen. Die Chicken Wings sind sehr zu empfehlen. Als große Gruppe kam unser Essen leider etwas zeitversetzt.

Superleckeres Sushi. Ich liebe die Crispy Osaka Roll! Dazu hat mir der Riesling sehr gut geschmeckt!

Sushi war joa. War mal viel besser. Preis ist für das was man bekommen hat an Größe und Geschmack leider zu hoch.

Sushi gut, kleines Restaurant aber teuer

Ich wohne schon einige Jahre in Nippes und war sicherlich 8-10 mal im Shibuya essen. Über die Jahre verteilt scheint der Besitzer und die Küche mindestens einmal gewechselt zu haben, so auch die Karte. Die letzten beiden Male (2022 und März 2023) war ich eher enttäuscht. Das Sushi, die Vorspeisen oder auch die Desserts sind immer noch gut, wenn auch nicht mehr ganz so außergewöhnlich gut, wie noch vor rund 4 Jahren. Was aber völlig aus dem Ruder gelaufen ist, sind die Getränkepreise. Ein 0,2 Glas Wein kostet zwischen 9,90 -12 €! Ein 0,2 Kölsch stolze 3,50 €! Was ist denn da los? Das ist völlig unverhältnismäßig, überzogen und auch wenig einladend. In Summe gibt es für das gleiche Budget bessere Sushi-Läden in Köln. Sehr schade, da das Shibuya für mich lange Zeit zu den geheimen Favoriten gehörte. Überdenkt doch mal bitte Eure Preise.

Essen und Service sind immer super gewesen. Sehr lecker, sehr nett. Leider wird mittlerweile nur noch Karte angenommen, was für mich deutlich umständlicher ist. Es gibt immer noch viele Leute, die nicht immer eine Karte mit sich tragen. Schade.

Ich war mit einer Freundin im Shibuya- erster Besuch & ich bin sehr glücklich mit meiner Entscheidung - kannte den Laden zuvor nicht und habe hier auf Trip Advisor gestöbert - Lage in Nippes ist gut erreichbar (man sollte nur die schlechte Parkplatz Lage beachten / Bahn Florastraße) wir haben uns 3 Special Rolls ausgesucht und alle hatten eine atemberaubende Frische, der Geschmack war gut, die Kombinationen gut durchdacht und auch mal etwas anders als sonst. Genug Getränke Auswahl - leckere Cocktails (Gin Basil Smash gibts auch) man sollte an gut besuchten Tagen reservieren! Der Laden ist klein aber fein, nettes Personal, ich würde definitiv wieder kommen! :-) 5/5 ❤️

Ich würde gerne sagen das wir einen tollen Abend hatten aber leider hatte er erst gar nicht stattgefunden. Wollten heute mit Freunden hin und hatten vor einer Woche reserviert, doch standen vor geschlossenem Laden. Mussten kurzfristig schließen wegen Reparaturen laut Zettel an der Tür. Ist alles ok und kann passieren aber wäre super gewesen wenn uns jemand wenigstens bescheid gesagt hätte das wir umplanen hätten können wenn man schon von außerhalb kommt. Waren sonst immer sehr zufrieden.

Das Sushi mag ja sehr gut sein. Zumindest hatten wir das vor 2 Jahren schon festgestellt. Heute waren wir wieder da, sind aber nach dem studieren der Speise-und Getränkekarte wieder gegangen. Ein Aporolspritz für 9,- Euro, ein Glas Weißwein (0,2) für 9,- Euro und 0,2 Kölsch für 3,50 Euro übersteigen unsere Toleranzgrenz der Preisgestaltung/Erhöhung. Das können wir nicht akzeptieren.

Super leckeres Sushi, wenn man mal etwas anderes als den Standard essen möchte. Wenn man kein Fisch mag oder aber auch kein Fleisch essen möchte, gibt einige tolle Veggie Alternativen. Selbst für Kinder gibt es tolle Möglichkeiten. Der Service ist super aufmerksam. Wir haben vorher reserviert, so haben wir einen gemütlichen Platz bekommen. Das geht auch super easy. Wir kommen wieder!

Ich gehe hier schon seit Jahren hin und liebe das Shibuya. Das Personal ist immer sehr nett! Nur das Licht hat sich verändert und man hat das Gefühl in einer Tankstelle zu sitzen, super grelles Licht, leider nicht mehr so gemütlich wie früher 🥲

Essen ist in Ordnung und auch die Bedienung war sehr nett. Leider weichen die Preise stark von den beworbenen auf der Webseite ab. 65€ für eine Sushiplatte XL, das habe ich in besseren Restaurants schon günstiger gegessen. Das Geschirr war teilweise dreckig und oder hatte Flecken. Die Schorlen waren nur ein überteuerter zusammen gemischter Sprudelwassermix. Toiletten sind katastrophe und ständig wird man von Obstfliegen belagert, die einem ins Gesicht fliegen. Für uns war es das erste und letzte Mal. Preis/Leistung leider komplett verfehlt.

leider schlechtes essen. service gut. waren nochmal da. noch schlechter. toiletten eine zumutung. ekelhaft. und die preise ? unverschämt! fazit. sushi was ein inder zubereitet in einem frittenbuden standard ausgestattem möchtegern hipster laden.

Wir waren dort ausgiebig essen und leider enttäuscht. Die Dragonrol hat einfach nur frittiert geschmeckt. Meiner Frau ging es richtig schlecht in der Nacht. Unser Sohn hatte Bauchschmerzen. Der Laden ist für ein Restaurant zu ungepflegt und könnte einen gründlicheren Reinigungssdienst vertragen. Sehr sehr lecker, aber auch teuer. Die Karte bietet eine Vielzahl an verschiedenen Gerichten - darunter auch einige vegetarische Optionen. Besonders lecker haben mir die Gyoza und Bonsai Roll geschmeckt. Ich finde etwas schade, dass es keine 'einfachen' Maki Rolls gibt.
