Price value for the food was pretty good. The Spießbraten was juicy. The portion sizes are absolutely decent and make even a bigger tummy full. The service is kind and nice, but pretty slow and mixed up two of our orders. The solved it then fast, bus still a little inconvenient. Atmosphere is chill and cosy. I would go again.

A lovely atmosphere and delicious food—what more could you want? The steaks are truly excellent, and the sides leave nothing to be desired: crispy fries, delicious aioli. Also highly recommended: the tomato salad with pesto! Add a freshly tapped Pilsner Urquell, and a relaxing evening is guaranteed!

I was there alone this evening. The welcome was very friendly and the ambiance is truly lovely. I guess I was just having a bad day: First of all, the service seemed clearly overwhelmed – I was simply forgotten about three times in total. The last time was when I asked for the bill. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I ended up going to the cash register myself to pay. You can tell that it's becoming increasingly difficult for restaurateurs to find trained or even qualified staff. As for the food and drinks: It was very mixed. The sauces and herb butter seemed to be homemade. While one sauce wasn't necessarily to my taste, that's no reason for me to downgrade their quality. The pata bravas I ordered as a starter were okay, but far from what I'm used to in Spain. They were undercooked, and in some places they were very chewy. For my main course, I had a rump steak. It really wasn't good. I ordered it "medium" and received a piece that was unevenly cooked and significantly overcooked. It was borderline edible. In some places, it was completely overcooked. Furthermore, I felt the piece was significantly less than the advertised 250 grams. As an apology, I was at least offered a drink. The potato with herb butter that I ordered as a side dish, however, was impeccable and delicious. The wines I had were also excellent. All in all, I wouldn't come back today based on this performance, but I'll probably give Palanta another chance to deliver a better performance.

From stories from people close to me, I've gotten a very negative impression of how employees are treated here. In my experience, employees and staff have been treated in a manner that I find extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I can only recommend reconsidering visiting this store.

We're here for the second time in a row – yesterday and today. The steaks are delicious, as are the tapas, and the wine is excellent. It's pleasantly quiet; the restaurant is located on a quiet street, surrounded by greenery. It almost feels like you're not in a bustling city, but in a spa town. Since we were here last night and again today, my father ordered the same dish – and the waiter remembered exactly what he had the night before. We feel very comfortable here and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Had dinner there today and wouldn't recommend this place at all!!! Staff was slightly overwhelmed and not good. However, the food was inedible. We once had steak with fries, the steak was totally dry and oversalted and we also had tarte flambée which was totally soggy and tasteless. All the fun was totally overpriced. Definitely wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend it.

It's not like I go there regularly, but it's one of my lunch/dinner alternatives. I think the milk coffee is delicious and that’s important to me.

The Palanta is always a nice and friendly place to meet up with friends in Veedel. It's especially nice to sit outside under the green arbor in summer.

The food is simply divine. I haven't eaten so well in a long time.

The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was really tasty. Everything was freshly prepared, great ingredients and the steaks were cooked perfectly. We had a bit of a wait to eat but we were also a large table. I'll definitely be back!

It was a wonderful evening with very tasty food, super nice, fast and courteous service and a very nice atmosphere. We are already looking forward to our next visit. By the way, our top recommendation is the vegetarian tapa plate.

Be careful, eating broad beans with bacon is a hidden object game. After asking the staff we were shown the bacon. These were a few tiny little cubes.

Great cozy restaurant with very good food and a lovely terrace. The Palanta is a culinary oasis in the Sülz district of Cologne and impressed us with its very decent food, its Mediterranean charm and the really friendly service. We went there for dinner a few times (really nice atmosphere for lunch and dinner). And I celebrated my birthday with 55 people here - great! Extremely uncomplicated in the preparation, all wishes were fulfilled with a relaxed, natural manner. Flying buffet, good wines, music to dance to. My friends and family were totally happy… Definitely my new favorite spot in Cologne.

Last night with my daughter I ordered Flammkuchen, tomato bruschetta, we were both sick all night, stomach ache, vomiting. In my opinion it was almost as bad as it went wrong. Really worth reporting, we are both at home sick. Total disappointment, I will never go into the place again. Very bad.

I have known Palanta for many years. Unfortunately the prices have been raised extremely (e.g. salad with goat cheese almost 20 euros). Unfortunately, that's a reason for me not to come back as often.

It's always a great pleasure to eat there. Everything is very tasty. I can recommend the tarte flambée.

I wanted to invite my partner to dinner for his belated birthday this evening. We both ordered beef fillets medium well and fries, the most expensive on the menu. After the steaks were served to us, they were completely done, dry and stringy. We let the food go back. Then came the second attempt, again dry and through. After the third time it was quite raw and had to be fried. The meat was so stringy, I could hardly chew it. At such an expensive price, you expect excellent meat. Unbelievable...and I'm totally stunned. The whole thing cost us 114.00 including a 10% discount. At least. We won't come back here again!!!!!!!!

Nice beer garden, nice service, food has potential for improvement...

I regularly meet up with long-time friends for dinner. When we get together, it's usually long evenings with starters, main courses and desserts as well as various drinks. We have been to Palanta twice now. There definitely won't be a third time. The atmosphere there is really outstanding, you can't say anything against it. The prices for the food are quite high (with the exception of tarte flambée), the quality and appearance of the food is rather mediocre compared to what we are used to elsewhere in the area for these prices. However, the service at Palanta is really bad: on both visits we sat for a long time with empty glasses and were simply ignored. When we looked around, it was clear that other guests felt no different. So while we would have liked to eat more, the service staff stood behind the counter chatting in a good mood and enjoying their own drinks. On our first visit, I cleared the table myself after we had already finished eating an hour. I found this very embarrassing for the store - but not for the staff. Yesterday we waited a similar amount of time for the empty plates to be cleared away. At least 10 times a waitress came past our table empty-handed and without taking anything. Drinks that were ordered had to be re-ordered because they were forgotten or arrived extremely late after being ordered. Nobody asked if we liked it or if we needed anything else. On our first visit I ordered an English steak. The steak I got was just a light pink, so far from English. I let it go back. The waiter came back after 15 minutes with the same steak and informed me that the kitchen had not let my complaint go through. After a conversation with the boss responsible for the evening, it was exchanged, but it didn't come back much better. What can I say?? We won't eat there again!!

The text of the predecessor resembles a novel and deserves its own review. We also had dinner at Palanta yesterday, it was delicious, as were the drinks (both always came very quickly, by the way), the waitress was very attentive and friendly, we would love to come back 😃

If a customer says that a steak is not medium rare even though you ordered it that way, you initially believe the customer. What doesn't work is this: the waitress took the steak back to the kitchen to make the complaint and then came back to the guest with the same plate with the comment, "Sorry, the kitchen didn't accept the complaint." This is not the way to treat guests, especially since several at the table confirmed that the steak was well done and showed it to the waitress. The food and drinks were otherwise delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. But the whole thing leaves a bad aftertaste. That's not how service works!

Anyone who lies to their customers doesn't really deserve any stars

The Palanta is a communicative place where people actually like to meet and chat over food and drinks. Unfortunately, the experience is diminished by the gastronomic performance. Here are the main points that could be improved: The steaks served were well past the cooking point ordered. It is also amazing that a 200g rump steak increases in price from EUR 19.90 to EUR 23.90 within 8 months. In the house salad (Palanta) with fried (actually dry "roasted") turkey breast, in addition to the leaf lettuce mixture (looks like a medium-priced ready-made mixture) supplemented by two cherry tomatoes and a decorative strawberry, you are desperately looking for components that will keep the price at EUR 19.50 justify. In any case, it can't be the sparingly used and very reserved aromatic dressing.

The food is not cheap, but tasty.

I was blown away how tasty the Flammkuchen have been. The service was also on point. Very quick and polite!

The food was absolutely ok, but €19.50 for a salad with a little goat cheese is really ambitious, as is a piece of cheesecake for €10.00. It was also so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

So I'm not sorry, 1. The food doesn't taste as you would imagine, I also had eyelashes in my food and at times the service was really terrible. I wish it would be possible not to give out stars.

We have been to Palanta several times. In summer you can sit outside very nicely. On our last visit we had the lamb paillard and a steak burger; Both were fried to perfection and beautifully tender. The service is friendly and responds to requests. The tarte flambée selection is also great and recommended. We look forward to the lunch menu and will be happy to come back again and again.

I had a wonderful evening here with my Jenny! Everything on the plate was really incredibly tasty. We will most likely stop by here again.

Unfortunately I can't give a rating for the food. We spent a great carnival evening there in a closed company. Nice service, great music (carnival and not Ballermann music) and a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere. Sing, dance and have fun. Just like before at this time. Unfortunately, this is no longer a given today. We just had a great evening there. Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, the connection between the cook and the waiter was not okay. The food was not served as ordered. Exchanged twice. In the end it was cold and I had to eat alone because my family had already had their food.

A very nice scene restaurant which I visited with the participants as part of a training course. You don't expect anything special and to be honest you are so spoiled with food that you think you are in a star restaurant. Really only recommended.

Mmmmmm. Yummy. Shrimp with garlic! Garlic bread? Tapas? Did someone here say garlic? I love garlic. A delicious dish is the prawns (mmmmm... really generous, tasty, "giant things") on garlic bread with salad. Great atmosphere, nice bar, I only know Palanta in summer. Big mistake! So nice inside! Very nicely decorated for Christmas. Come back.

Schönes Restaurant, in dem ich schon besser gegessen habe. Die Maultaschen waren schon trocken und musste lange auf unsere Getränke warten. Komme trotzdem wieder, da ich ansonsten ehr einen Stern mehr vergeben würde.

Atmosphäre und Service sind immer noch top, aber in der Küche hat leider der Sparfuchs das Regiment übernommen: Der Flammkuchen mit Gemüse besteht vor allem aus Flammkuchen mit viel zu viel Käse und ein bisschen Alibi-Gemüse (darunter hauptsächlich allzu fettige Aubergine), der Beilagensalat zum gut gebratenen Zander setzte sich leider aussschließlich aus ein paar Eisbergsalat-Stücken zusammen, keine Tomate, kein Paprika, Sparprogramm eben. Das ist wirklich schade, denn die Palanta-Küche hat sich immer durch eine gute Qualität ausgezeichnet, davon ist man momentan leider weit entfernt. Und ein letztes Manko: Der Gestank im Toilettenbereich ist extrem unangenehm, da müffelt's leider schon seit Längerem aus irgendwelchen Rohren…

Sehr herzlich & ehrlich. Tolle Karte und bei den Tapas beispielsweise eine sehr gute Qualität. Auch die Flammkuchen sind klasse, wer das mag wird sich über eine große Auswahl freuen. Mein absoluter Favorit insgesamt ist ganz profan das Pilsener Urquell vom Fass! Findet man in Köln wirklich selten!

Eins der wenigen Restaurants in Köln die seit Jahren einfach immer gut sind. Das Essen hat eine sehr gute Qualität, der Service ist supernett und aufmerksam und man fühlt sich einfach wohl.

Schade, dass ich versäumt habe von der Tapas Platte und den anderen Speisen Fotos zu machen. Es hat genauso toll geschmeckt wie es ausgesehen hat.

Ein schönes, entspanntes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen, super freundlichem Service und angenehmem Ambiente. Unser Essen war sehr lecker, der Service aufmerksam und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten Lammhüfte (200gr 18.90€), Rumpsteak (200gr 19.90€) und Garnelen a La Plancha (19.90€). Die Beilagen zum Steak kosten extra, Spinat und Kartoffelstampf jeweils ca. 5.50€. Leckeres frisch gezapftes Pilsener Urquell sollte man mal probieren. Wir nehmen die Fahrt aus Bergisch Gladbach und die Psrkplatzsuche gerne in Kauf und kommen wieder.

Preis Leistungsverhältnis absolut okay. Fleischqualität gut und sehr freundlicher Service. Alles in allem einen Besuch wert.
