Absolute recommendation. Great food, very nice hosts.

This restaurant is beautifully located. However, the food there is a disaster. The Boquerones are limp and taste old. The Albondigas have the consistency of Königsberger Klopse from the canteen and the Chipirones only had a lot of breading. Anyone who has eaten papas bravas (real papas bravas) once in their life will be reminded of their children's first fried potatoes in this restaurant. The only thing that helps is to look deep into the glass. The good location and a bottle or two of wine cover up the bad taste in your mouth and make you forget it for a moment. Still, I had to write this - unfortunately.

Very nice, small and cozy restaurant. Additionally a huge selection of gin. The food is really excellent and authentic. Both of our fish dishes were very tasty, prepared to perfection and seasoned very well. The desserts were also excellent. The owner is super friendly, helpful and is happy to answer any questions about the dishes, the wines on the ceiling or conjures up super interesting and delicious gin and tonic creations.

Unfortunately, price/performance is not in proportion. What a shame! First of all: If a restaurant wants to compete in a certain price category, that of course creates expectations for me as a guest. Unfortunately, this was missed with After Church. We had a table for two on a weekend evening. When we entered the restaurant, we were quickly greeted and shown to the reserved table. The interior design didn't blow us away; it seemed a bit haphazard and thrown together randomly. We found the lighting to be too bright for dinner in the evening. There were no candles at the table. We would have liked that more than the bright ceiling lighting. We chose the clams for starters (18 EUR), the octopus with mashed potatoes and the bacalhau with carrot puree (both 30/31 EUR) for the main course. When asked which of the Vinho Verde wines best suited our selection, the waitress was unfortunately unable to provide any information. We would have expected that. The bottle of wine came already opened, which is not usual in my opinion. A new bottle is always opened for the guest so that the guest knows that the wine has not been sitting around for a long time. Unfortunately a bit unprofessional. Luckily the wine was very good and went well with the food. The clams were tasty, fresh, beautifully presented. There was nothing wrong here. Different with the main course. Both dishes came very simply presented. The puree took up a large portion of the plate. The fish was simply placed to the side, skin side down (why?). The dishes tasted good, but were nothing special. The doneness of the fish and the octopus were spot on, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately my fish had a lot of bones running through it. When it comes to a fish fillet, as a guest I expect (especially given the price!) that the chef has already removed most of the bones to the best of his knowledge and belief. Conclusion: Too expensive for what you get. For the money I can eat much better in Munich. In addition, the service should be improved, be more attentive, refill, know how to serve wine. I expect all of that in this price range. It's a shame, because in my opinion a really good Portuguese is definitely a gap in the market in Munich and would have a lot of potential.

I can just say I have found a new favorite restaurant. Everything was right here, a fantastically prepared lamb dish in a great atmosphere, service where you can tell that hospitality is being practiced and I'm already looking forward to next time. A place with a family atmosphere

The reception was friendly but distant, when ordering the food (steak) we explicitly stated that we wanted it to be in English and ordered a mixed salad with it. Salad didn't come, but the main course came straight away, which was a shame. The steak was NOT grilled, but boiled or braised - in any case well done (not as ordered: English). The side dish (potato chips) were not cross, but rather oily/greasy. When we asked, the mixed salad came (the cruets were only available upon request - a shame). Partner's meal, seafood stew with rice was ok (a bit watery in taste), could have used a little more spice. Drinks were good and inexpensive. The restaurant has the atmosphere of a club pub (current TV). In the end, the uneaten steak was not charged for. Nevertheless: go out for a meal in a pleasant atmosphere?? Rather no. Too bad.

We just stopped here for a few drinks. So I can't say anything about the food, but the menu was delicious. Unfortunately there is no draft beer here. You can also go here to watch football on the big screen. Update April 2025: Now we were there for dinner. If you like a wide variety of fish, this is definitely the place for you. The shrimp in garlic oil are also really good. The rump steak was OK.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienungen waren sehr nett, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Das Lokal hatte ein tolles Ambiente, besonders der Wintergarten war sehr gemütlich.

A dream, God must have been Portuguese, at least when it comes to food. My uncle Yankee also got stuck here, in the form of his photographs. Great chef, great boss, simply great people. We are always being spoiled with new dishes. Portugal in Hamburg, what other city has that? Very nice little restaurant, great food and great service. We will come again. We'll just choose another table, sat right at the pillar, constant walking and not a nice atmosphere. We'll know next time.

Great restaurant. There were only pleasant impressions left. The interior cannot be called outstanding, but overall it is cozy. Exceptionally friendly staff. The dishes are delicious, the preparation time is short. Prices for the capital are very reasonable. I highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner.

It was okay... But wouldn't eat here again.
