A Telha in Berlin

Something different, Portuguese, and we can only recommend it. The ambience is typical, the atmosphere increases by the minute as time goes on, the staff is friendly and quick and the kitchen is a dream. We started with the mixed appetizer platter and were actually already full, but a short break brought back our appetite and we moved on to the main course. This was something very special in terms of its appearance. Food served in a Portuguese clay brick, delicious and highly recommended. Afterwards a mixed dessert platter and the evening is anchored in your memory. With the appropriate mental cinema you felt like you were on holiday, but the only thing that surprised us was that there wasn't an obligatory farewell greeting like Portugal, so we still have to work on that. Otherwise we say thank you for the lovely evening.

the restaurant has a great selection of specialties. There is fresh fish! It is family run and very cozy. The portions are large and very tasty. The price-performance ratio is very good. The condition is fast and friendly. We have been coming for years and always have to make a reservation.

Above average food at below average prices... a real recommendation...

The food is really authentic, fantastic, rich. I have rarely eaten such tender squid. The shop is packed in the early evening in the middle of the week, and nothing works here without a reservation, which is a good sign. But unfortunately there appears to be an acute shortage of staff. We sat together for 30 minutes without a menu, without drinks, without attention, which is kind of stupid. We then simply got the cards ourselves. In the end it was worth the wait, but maybe you should accept fewer guests at the same time if you can't entertain them at all.

Vor vielen Jahren waren wir Stammgäste, dann zwischendurch immer mal unzufrieden, doch nach einer Auszeit wiederkehrend einen neuen Versuch gestartet. Nach dem gestrigen Abend wird es keinen weiteren Besuch mehr geben… auf dem für uns reservierten Tisch lag auf einem Teller eine benutzte Serviette vom Nebentisch. Der Kellner entferne diese auf meinem Hinweis hin, wechselte jedoch nicht den Teller. Für ein bestelltes Essen wurde eine andere Zusammenstellung und Zubereitung gebracht… keine Entschuldigung, nur der Hinweis, dieses Essen sei besser. Da ich lange gewartet hatte und hungrig war, hatte ich es akzeptiert …. Teilweise war das Essen (Fischspiess, Gemüse und Kartoffeln) versalzen, zerkocht und dann auch fest, absolut kein Genuss. Das zweite essen, gegrillte Sepia absolut ungenießbar, fest wie Schuhsohle und wurde nicht verzehrt. Wenn der Koch sein Metier nicht versteht, sollte man das Essen nicht anbieten oder einen anderen Koch engagieren. Der Höhepunkt war, dass mein falsch gebrachtes Gericht auch noch doppelt berechnet wurde und die Rechnung um 20,00 Euro höher ausfiel. Wir hatten es bemerkt und der Kellner reagierte nicht angemessen… nach dem Motto: Man kann es ja mal versuchen! Bitte prüfen Sie stets die Rechnung! Das war‘s dann …. Keine Empfehlung!!!!!

Best fish soup in Berlin and good variety of fish dishes alongside Portuguese specialties and Spanish tapas. Well attended every day. Reservation recommended.

We waited over an hour for food. Food was okay, but nothing more. Service overwhelmed to the max! I generally don't like two-class societies and in the restaurant it feels even worse, we won't be coming back!

Portuguese restaurant with a large selection of local specialties. The dishes are tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately, the service is not very attentive because you don't come to the table to ask if you would like to order something else. Here the guest has to draw attention to himself - what a shame! The restaurant seems a bit untidy (counter area/walkway to the toilet). The price-performance ratio is very good.

Like a little Portugal vacation. I cooked bacalhau with potatoes in the cataplana (copper pot). It tasted very good. Plus a fresh Vinho Verde. What more could you want?

For people longing for typical Portuguese cuisine, this is a great place to visit. One can find the key Portuguese dishes cooked to a very high standard. Atmosphere is cosy inside; friendly service.

As someone who is deeply passionate about Portuguese food, I was extremely disappointed with the food. Portuguese food is rich in flavour, and after having the Pork with Clams, and the Chicken on the grill everything was lacking taste, and the texture was dry for both. The ambience was not the best, as the place needs some maintenance. Staff was nice and polite, however service was a bit slow.

I recommend visiting, great atmosphere, tasty food and very well served. Friendliness in service.

We had mixed fish, Nazaré-style caldera, Sardina asadas and Portuguese-style pork. EVERYTHING was fantastic 🥹 good place to catch up.

Six of us came here for dinner, especially since our friend, who has Portuguese roots, wanted to take advantage of this opportunity during her visit to Berlin. In addition to Portuguese cuisine, the menu also offers a selection of Spanish dishes. First of all: We were so excited that we were happy to come back a few days later. There were a variety of starters on both evenings, with the fried anchovies and homemade aioli being the most popular. On the first evening almost everyone had fish, I had monkfish - great! On the second visit we had the mixed meat platter for 2 and everything was great here too. The meat, although thinly sliced, was still nice and juicy and the vegetables were crunchy. Everything as it should be. We all really enjoyed the white house wine! The prices are also very cheap. For example, the entire liter of house wine costs 19 euros. Most main courses cost less than 20 euros. In addition, the service is super friendly. You should reserve in advance as the restaurant is relatively small. We'd love to come back!

Amazing place. Client since 2017. First time tasting cocktail Telha 43. Cow beef with egg on top and rustic potatoes one of the best for me . Simple and delicious Try typical Portuguese beer Super Bock or Sagres Dessert - Pastel de Nata off course 😉

Great food, great ambience, great service, great prices. Gladly again. We walked in without a reservation and everything was full. Miguel then said to me: "We have never let a Portuguese starve. Less than 10 minutes and we got a table. Thank you!

March 2024: We cut our evening short. The waiter seemed overwhelmed or in a bad mood at best. I have rarely experienced this. Then there was the fact that we were served cold tapas. Then we left. Very unfortunate. 2019: Fantastic! Absolutely recommended, even if it takes a little longer. Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and good wines. Everything as it should be. Fresh, al dente, hot and tasty. We will be back. Price/performance is right.

This Portuguese restaurant is amazing. The fish is very fresh. We ordered fish soup, grilled fish and paella. The portions were so big that the paella had to be packed away. It tastes great and is very cost-effective!

Wonderful place, the food is very authentic and tasty.

The tapas starters, especially numbers 1 and 2, were wonderful. Very tasty, authentic and rich. Unfortunately the main courses were rather disappointing. The sea bass was average and the breaded squid rings were a bad joke. 11€ for 8 rings, which are tasteless than the rest ramp shortly before the closure of a North Sea branch. There was also a salad as a side dish that tasted strikingly similar to a Hamburger Royal TS. The dessert was again good. I can only recommend the Pastel de Nata with a little cinnamon. The service was unfriendly at the beginning and some of the pictures hung had damage to the frame and pane. Our criticism has been addressed. It was quite good. But here Warsteiner is served on tap...a ​​beer that can only be used as a brush cleaner. But that is a matter of taste and is not taken into account in the rating.

Um es kurz zu machen: hervorragendes Essen, seit Jahren gleichbleibend hervorragende Qualität, toller Service. Meine persönlichen Favoriten sind die Fischgerichte (Fischplatte für 2 Personen sehr zu empfehlen). Wir werden immer wieder kommen.

Alles war perfekt. Das Essen war wie zuhause in Portugal.

A nice little Portuguese restaurant in Berlin. We went there as a group of four and enjoyed a variety of different dishes and drinks. One of the highlights was our choice of meat being served in a burning hot piece of curved brick, which truly emphasises the restaurant's name (A Telha meaning The Brick in Portuguese). The staff were friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere and experience left us very happy. We'd gladly visit it again on a future trip to Berlin.

Gute portugiesische Küche nette Bedienung gemütliches Ambiente. Die Spezialität sind Gerichte auf Dachziegel zubereitet und angerichtet.

Wer mediterrane Küche liebt, sollte hier unbedingt einkehren. Die Fischplatte und die Baby- Calamare sind einfach köstlich. Freundliches Personal. Man sollte vorher einen Tisch reservieren.

Outstanding Portuguese food. We went there twice in a week (the first time was so good). Recommend the mixed grilled skewer of meat, calamari rings, salt cod and the delicious caramel flan. House wines lovely. Excellent service. Very good value.

Ein echter Geheimtipp in Berlin. Wer Meeresfrüchte liebt muss unbedingt hier her. Die Tapas sind ein Traum ,wie im Urlaub. Die Fischplatte war sensationell lecker und gut gefüllt. Das Rindfleisch ist super zart und zergeht auf der Zunge. Die Aioli : was soll ich sagen ,unglaublich gut. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich eingerichtet und das Personal ist vom Fach,sehr freundlich und flink. Das war mit Sicherheit nicht mein letzter Besuch. Ich habe noch nie so gut in Berlin gegessen, vielen Dank für den tollen Abend .

Ich fange mit dem positiven an : Das Essen war wirklich gut (1x Grillteller) und Tapas gemischt für 3 Personen. Leider war der Empfang sowie der Service äußerst unfreundlich, was mich sehr verwundert hat, denn vor 2 Jahren war es genau das Gegenteil. Leider werde ich ( wir) nicht mehr kommen, denn zu einem guten Essen gehört auch ein guter Service, dass sollte ein Service Unternehmen wissen.

-Servizio lento e poco attento al cliente. In 90 minuti non è venuto nessuno a chiedere se volessi un'altra bibita o se fosse tutto ok. -Cibo di bassa qualità. Le porzioni sono abbondanti, ma il pesce è per la maggior parte non fresco e non viene spinato! -Non ci tornerò una seconda volta: decisamente sconsigliato!!!

One of the best restaurants that I went in Berlin! We ordered different plates, but I highlight the “mixed fish” and the tapas! The staff are very friendly and Danilo, the waiter, make your night incredible! Also, the cost-benefit was amazing, there are big plates for a good price.

Top Service, sehr leckeres Essen. Wer frischen Fisch vom Grill liebt, muss dort hin. Die Goldbrasse ist exzellent und auf den Punkt gegrillt. Auch die Fleischplatte ist top. Dazu eine große Auswahl an Tapas. Die Preise unschlagbar und trotzdem tolle Qualität (zu Dritt ganze Goldbrasse, Lachsfilet und Grillplatte mit Getränken 64€). Großes Kompliment und Danke für den Abend.

Also als wir dort waren, schien der Kellner total überlastet und war nicht gerade freundlich.Das war für uns erstaunlich, weil wir vorher die guten Kritiken gelesen haben.Auch der Ton anderen Gästen gegenüber war recht rauh.Zum abkassieren ist er gar nicht mehr gekommen. Wir haben das Geld dann einfach liegen gelassen.Das Essen war gut.
