Lusitano in Hamburg

Wonderful Portuguese restaurant very close to the area of ​​the city where the ferries leave. All good. We tried the soups, the mussels, the garlic chicken, the rabbit. Even the coffee is good. Furthermore, the value for money is extremely good.

Once again before the New Year's concert at the Lusitano. Seats were reserved and the food was again very, very tasty (rabbit in a clay pot or fish stew).

For us, the Lusitano is a must every time we visit Hamburg. The food is delicious and the small restaurant on the basement floor is cozy and familiar. Reservations recommended on weekends. We look forward to next time!

Had a very tasty dinner. My wife had lamb chops and I had grilled tuna. Yummy!!! The Portuguese beer was really good.

Small, lovely restaurant, we spontaneously went to the restaurant last Saturday at 5:30 p.m. We had an hour before the table was reserved. Food service perfect. Also that we were given the opportunity.

The number 1 in the Portuguese Quarter. Inconspicuous, located on a side street but mega tasty. Gambas ala Chef as a starter are a hit. The grilled sea bass was also very, very tasty. So the food was so plentiful that I couldn't finish the side dish (boiled potatoes, unfortunately without sauce). Two local guests with whom I spoke confirmed my opinion that this small family business is the best there is in the area. In addition, the prices are not as high as on the tourist mile. My rating and that of my friends is 5 stars DELUXE, even if the atmosphere is a bit dated and small, but that also has its charm.

authentic, good food, unfortunately very unfriendly to children. Neither a small portion nor a single ball of ice cream was possible. Conclusion: Half of the food was returned because it was simply too much, we left the bedside table entirely. Too bad and unnecessary. No extra sausage was expected, only child-friendly portions were requested.

Almost past it, small, inconspicuous, but a nice intimate atmosphere. We were lucky that there was something free at the moment. If you like good, delicious Portuguese food prepared with a lot of heart, this is the place for you. We had tuna twice that were different, cooked to perfection and the garlic chicken...that was an absolute dream...perfectly seasoned and tender as butter. We'll definitely be back.

Went to the restaurant with 10 people today on Sunday. Everyone had different dishes and was very satisfied. Price/performance top. Our conclusion: absolutely recommended. When we are back in Hamburg, we will come back. Thanks to the team and the kitchen.

We ended up here by chance and didn't regret it. It is a small restaurant with good cuisine.

This Portuguese restaurant has existed in Hamburg's Portuguese Quarter for decades. It is a family business. There are 24 seats in the basement. You mostly sit on long benches. As a result, there is a certain tightness here. It is less suitable for a romantic evening. Fish, seafood and meat are available here. You could also call it home cooking. In summer, when the weather is warm and sunny, you can also sit outside. The prices are cheaper than average. On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the boss had to do the entire service alone while his wife cooked in the kitchen. Despite the many guests, everything went perfectly. First there was small pieces of flatbread with dip. The shrimps we ordered Chef's style, around €16, and the lamb fillet, around 22 €, there was a small salad and roasted potatoes for the lamb fillet. The shrimp didn't taste that appealing in the sauce used. Combined with large slices of mushrooms, the sauce was neither spicy nor tasty. It's different with lamb fillet. It was buttery soft and therefore very tender. The red wine sauce also tasted very good. The mixed ice cream for dessert tasted too plain and the strawberry ice cream too artificial to be called good. The bottom line is that the visit was worth it and we will come back.

We came here for dinner with a small group. The service was very friendly. The interior is okay, a lot of wood. It’s nothing too fancy. We all ordered some food, which arrived after a bit of waiting. I must confess that I didn’t like the food at all. The lamb stew was stringy, tough and had a strong smell. It was not at all what I had expected it to be. Other members of the group had different meals, which were okay - but not more than that. I would not come back here for food.

Everything just fits here. You don't need to write more. Although, I actually didn't want to write anything because I'm afraid I won't get any more space at some point... Antonio, you are the best in the neighborhood!

It took a bit of convincing to get us a table outside despite the relatively bad weather because we weren't welcome inside with our two dogs. But it was worth it, the fish soup was good, rabbit in the clay pot and the grilled lamb chops were excellent.

However, the innkeeper is super friendly and the food is excellent. For me the price-performance ratio is simply unbeatable. Dare to go to the store...it's worth it 👌🏼

LUSITANO has staff who serve you calmly, you feel like you're in Portugal , family atmosphere, has good flavor, I ate sea bream, cod, grilled steak, including soup... I always travel to EXPOS, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have lunch or dinner in peace, without cars and horns... Kleines Restaurant im Portugiesenviertel. Wir waren dort zweimal während unseres viertägigen Aufenthalts in Hamburg. Der Service ist nett und zurückhaltend. Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend, sei es Thunfisch, Schwertfisch oder Tintenfisch. Die Preise sind angesichts der Portionen und des Geschmacks wirklich sehr günstig. Bei uns in Süddeutschland würden wir für ein solches Gericht mit Salat ohne Übertreibung das doppelte bezahlen. Darum ohne Einschränkung zu empfehlen. Man sollte allerdings vorbuchen. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch werden wir hier ganz sicher wieder speisen.

Das Restaurant ist relativ klein und einfach, man sitzt im Souterrain aber dafür ist alles gut und fair gerechnet. Die gilt auch für den Wein. Die Speisekarte kam mir bekannt vor obwohl es sicher mehr als 10 Jahre her ist das ich hier war. Dementsprechend ist die Qualität gut und typisch für die Küche in Portugal.

A small, intimate restaurant in the Portugieserviertel with a simple but cozy atmosphere. There are the classic Portuguese clay pot dishes with lots of fresh bread. The sauces could be a little more seasoned, but otherwise the quality is good and quite cheap even for today's times.

Super tasty food, very nice service, I had grilled sea bream with potatoes and salad. Salad must be dressed at the table, but is common in Portuguese and other southern restaurants. Absolutely top value for money. When I come back to Hamburg, a visit here is definitely planned.

The food looks good, but nothing more. The lamb chops were delicious, two stars for that, but as a side dish there was dry rice, dry potatoes that didn't taste like anything and a salad without dressing. The service was unmotivated and listless. It's a shame, I was hoping for more because of the many positive reviews. Unfortunately I can only agree with the bad reviews. By the way, things look very tepid here for vegetarians or even vegans. The restaurant doesn't seem to know anything like that...

As everyone has said: cute, tiny, good food, quick service. My stars are deducted because I wanted to take the rest of my meal with me - but that didn't work because there is no take-out food. Sorry but I paid for it and if I can't eat MY food, I don't want to throw it away but take it home with me. I found that narrow-minded, petty and not timely, ecologically friendly or hospitable.

The stylish, overpriced competition can pack a punch with extreme noise levels. The facility would normally cost one star, but since you can experience a cramped but really beautiful, quiet and, above all, Portuguese evening with around 30 guests in around 40 square meters, it is no longer a disadvantage! We didn't find the slightest thing wrong with the food. Everything was fresh and homemade. The portions are large and the prices for Hamburg are very, very small! We will come back at least once every time we visit Hamburg!

The food was very tasty and the price was ok except for the salad, which was too simple for me without any dressing, not even a bit of lemon. We didn't like the atmosphere at all, it was all too crowded. If someone wants to go to the toilet, everyone has to get up and make room first. The service was a disgrace! We had made a reservation beforehand when we came into the store and they wanted to walk us out straight away without asking if we had reserved, so the owner should teach his employees better how to deal with customers. NEVER go there again.
