Olá Lisboa in Hamburg

It was our first time here, and we received a very warm welcome. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, he couldn't quite explain what to expect from the "house steak"—but that was okay, we wanted to be surprised. 😄 When the dish arrived, the steak was swimming in a sauce with pickles and onions. The sauce wasn't really to our liking—a bit artificial and quite sour. I rescued the steak, transferred it to a separate plate, and ate it with just fries and rice. Overall, the house steak didn't quite live up to our expectations. However, the other dishes were truly delicious: bruschetta, salad, mussels, and the bread with dip—all excellent! There were three of us, and two of us had a wonderful evening; only one of us was a bit unlucky with his choice this time. Oh well—we're sure things will go better next time.

You really need a bit of luck to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant is absolutely packed, which might mean it's not the quietest when it's full. But all of this is more than compensated for by the food, the service, and the friendly staff. Simply delicious, incredibly attentive staff, and you definitely don't have to wait too long for your food. Thank you so much for a wonderful and truly delicious dinner. Great restaurant.

A hidden gem: a very beautiful, excellent restaurant in Hamburg's Portuguese Quarter.

This was our second visit, this time for the evening menu, and everything was great again! However, we did have to get some food to go, as the appetizer we shared between the three of us was quite filling. But that wasn't a problem, and it meant we could enjoy it for longer. The service was incredibly friendly, and there's a wide selection of dishes.

The food was good, nothing special, but the meal times were unacceptable. We like to sit for longer than just two hours, and don't worry, we eat and drink plenty, far more than the average person. Therefore, 3 stars.

It's rare to find a restaurant in Lower Saxony packed with customers. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are friendly and attentive, and of course, the food is delicious, so the slightly pricey price is perfectly acceptable.

Great fresh food, extremely friendly, professional, fast and attentive service; we felt very comfortable. It's quite small and rather noisy, but it was worth it. We walked past it quite spontaneously on Saturday evening and still managed to get a table for three.

We spontaneously ended up at this restaurant in the lovely Portuguese Quarter. The delicious tapas as a starter were absolutely scrumptious. For our main courses, we enjoyed a Portuguese fish stew and a seafood stir-fry! The reasonably priced but excellent house wines were the perfect complement to a wonderful meal.

We ordered cod à Brás and salmon with vegetables. The salmon was excellent, very tasty! The cod was also good, but a little dry. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I recommend it, it's a great place to try good Portuguese food.

The fish platter was very tasty

We had a reservation, but when we arrived our table wasn’t ready and we were asked to wait outside. It took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered the shrimps in onion oil and anchovies as a starter, and for the main course we had grilled salmon with crab sauce and grilled octopus. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Food good, rest too crowded, too loud, too cramped

We made a reservation online two days in advance – and that was a good decision, because without a reservation, there was no chance. The dining room was packed to the brim at the beginning – and the acoustics correspondingly loud. Nevertheless, we immediately felt at home – the atmosphere was absolutely authentic. The service was prompt and very attentive – and the food was wonderful. We were whisked away to Lisbon for an evening, and we absolutely loved it! We'd love to go back!

At lunchtime, we had a table to choose from. The fish platter was beautiful, but unfortunately it was too salty and overcooked, making the fish fillets very dry. The Bietoque was very different from the typical original recipe.

Almost everything was very good. We only ordered a sea bass with a side dish, and everything was good. The fish was large and cooked to perfection. But the wrinkled potatoes we ordered on the side... nothing like that. The potatoes had two textures, and you could tell some had been left in contact with a wet surface. And their green sauce was pure vinegar; it was inedible. I don't usually comment on anything; I'm just posting it here, since my waiter very kindly received my criticism, but I witnessed how the head waiter cared very little and we didn't even receive any feedback. I repeat, the sea bass was delicious.

Delicious Portuguese food in Hamburg, friendly service

Unfortunately, the restaurant smells like a chlorine-filled swimming pool. One pot of aioli was served for six people, and they charged for another. The potatoes tasted bland, the vegetables were unseasoned, and the sardines didn't taste fresh.

A wonderful restaurant in many ways... From the bread they serve you at the beginning to the desserts, including excellent service and an incredible atmosphere.

Unfortunately disappointing – no culinary highlight Based on the many positive reviews, we were looking forward to an evening at this Portuguese restaurant – but unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast, I have to say. But the food itself was disappointing. Even the tapas were completely unconvincing: The tortilla was completely tasteless, the bacon-wrapped dates were barely crispy – simply bland overall. The main course, unfortunately, was no better. The grilled sea bream was fresh, but lacked any flavor, barely seasoned, and served without any sauce. The side dish – potatoes and some vegetables like peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini – seemed unloving and was also completely unseasoned. The same was true of my husband's tuna steak, which came with the same side dish. Apparently, all main courses come with the same standard vegetables. On the positive side, the Vinho Verde was very good and the price was reasonable. In terms of taste, however, it was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in a long time – a shame, because the ambiance and service deserved better. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it from a culinary perspective.

We arrived without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table outside. The blankets we were given kept the temperature comfortable. Even though it was completely packed and people were constantly coming and going, the service was quite organized and always friendly! The food was excellent! Each dish tasted amazing. So, my conclusion: It's better to reserve a table because it's very busy, and always worth a visit!

I've been to the Portuguese Quarter several times, and it's always been good. I've never been able to get in without a reservation. That made me even more excited and looking forward to the evening. And for me, it was the best restaurant. The food was perfect, simply a delight. Everything worked out wonderfully; we arrived early and were seated early. The ambiance was also very nice, and the service was perfect. I highly recommend spending an evening here!

It was our first time there. There were problems with our online reservation beforehand. No confirmation, we called twice. Then the reservation was confirmed by phone. And when the four of us arrived, they said we had reserved for an hour later. Generous and arrogant, we finally got a table. We then ordered drinks, appetizers, and main courses. Only then the main course came immediately. When we then said that we hadn't had any appetizers yet and didn't want any more, they asked us three times, and the third time they even asked us if we were sure we hadn't gotten the appetizers. Very rude, arrogant, and there was no apology. The main course was delicious. Kudos to the kitchen crew. But we won't be coming back. It seemed like they were done with it!!!

I'd been here several times a few years ago. On Monday evening, after many years, I was back again. It was fantastic! The quality hasn't declined, the service was always very friendly and humorous, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only thing was that our main course was unfortunately forgotten and didn't arrive for almost an hour. The waiter noticed it himself, though. But since everything else was really great, you can be tolerant. It's always busy, after all. ☺️ Thank you so much, stay the way you are! 🙏🏽

I really like the street or neighborhood where this restaurant is located. It’s my favorite district in Hamburg. Here you can find Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian restaurants, as well as taste their cuisine. The atmosphere is really great. It feels like you are in a Mediterranean country. The service was a bit reserved at times, but still friendly. Service was quick. I actually wanted to have bitoque, but the dinner menu only offered rump steak in a matching sauce with a fried egg. Despite being cooked medium, the steak was dry and tough, indicating poor quality meat. It wasn't seasoned either. So, a disappointment for me.

We were there on a Saturday evening. Reservations are highly recommended. The service was friendly and fast. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The squid rings were undercooked, and the steak was twice so rare that you'd think the animal was still alive. There was hardly any meat on the spare ribs. Otherwise, the food was unfortunately nothing special. The restrooms in the basement are also inadequate. Access to them is via a narrow, slippery staircase. The sanitary facilities are very dated and, unfortunately, not particularly clean.

We had seafood, of course, which was perfect. Great service with friendly staff. Only when I order more bread, and the bill adds €2.50 for five pieces of baguette, on a bill of €90 for two people, I find that awful and disappointing.

Unfortunately, both the salmon and the steak were too salty...the prawns were from the freezer. The service was very friendly and tried to take all orders quickly. Even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait long for our order. The atmosphere was very loud; we had to share a table with a couple, but it didn't matter...but you can't get romantic togetherness at a single table. All in all, it was OK. You can do it.

Ein sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Team hat uns die Abende zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis werden lassen. Sowohl vom Ambiente als auch von seitens der Küche ein sehr gutes und wundervolles Erlebnis. Wir waren nach etwas längerer Zeit mal wieder im Ola Lisboa und hatten von der Mittagskarte gegessen. Der Pannfisch und das Thunfischsteak in Pfeffersauce waren ausgezeichnet, der Thunfisch auf den Punkt gegrillt. Auch das Gemüse war wieder sehr lecker und auf den Punkt gegart und nicht verkocht. Alles schmeckte wieder ausgezeichnet, auch der gute Vino Verde. Das war alles sehr authentisch. Die Bedienung war freundlich und der Service klappte gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
