Olá Lisboa in Hamburg

A wonderful little restaurant and tapas bar directly on a main crossing in the so called "portuguese quarter" in Hamburg. I've been here several times, at noon, in the evening, with friends and family. The choice and quality is great, the friendliness of the staff is amazing and honest. No matter if tapas or main dishes in the evening, or a lunch from the special menu around noon, everything was always suoer fast, freshly prepared and free of convenience products. The portion size is very good and especially the price for the lunch menu is far below what you could expect for a restaurant in such a location, not to mention this quality. I'll happily come again (and again) and totally recommend this place for every casual to even slightly formal occasion.

Service was great, everyone there was very accommodating. Unfortunately my chair was wobbly and it was very narrow. The food was great, but I liked a little more carbohydrates better. Next time I'll order something different, the fish was top notch and tasted very good.

Food is relatively expensive, the time there is timed, it was said at the beginning, but then... We need the table again. One aioli and bread for four people... The second for the other two Had to pay because *it's a table*🤔. It was okay, but unfortunately we wouldn't go there again. Unfortunately for me it's not typical Portuguese food either... What a shame!

After a long time, I was a guest several times in a shorter period of time. Unfortunately, the first time I was able to come in very late. But there was still something to eat and pleasant service. The next time I wanted to eat there was on October 3rd. Even though all the seats were taken because of the holiday, I was offered the option of waiting outside the door. I thought it was great that they made an effort to accommodate me to offer a place..That evening I tasted a very tasty seafood pan..Very well seasoned, fresh and of very good quality.. Last time I ate lamb chops..Good tender meat, well grilled and tasty..It was served with a non-alcoholic cocktail.. The selection of dishes is clear. There is a balanced ratio of meat and fish dishes. Delicious cocktails are mixed. The quality of the food and drinks is very good and is authentically prepared. The prices are reasonable. The service is attentive, friendly and offers very good customer service. It is cozy there.

The positive first: The service is truly outstanding and the appetizers are unbeatable. Unfortunately, the side dishes for the grilled meat plate are not as special as the dish itself suggests. The fries weren't well fried and I would have liked a little more creativity with the rice. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback during our visit was the noise. Due to the busyness of the store - all tables were occupied, which speaks for the quality of the food and the good service - it was unfortunately so loud that you could no longer understand your own words.

“The food was OK, but not outstanding. A negative point was the price for a bottle of water, which was quite high at €7.50. The service also left a lot to be desired - the waiter seemed a bit disorganized and unfortunately there was no flexibility when we wanted to make a change to the appetizer platter. Overall, there is certainly still room for improvement, both in terms of service and pricing.”

The Portugiesenviertel in Hamburg is known for its good restaurants. The Olá Lisboa has a nice ambience and is somewhat reminiscent of Portugal. The service is friendly and very helpful. When we were told that the appetizers we had ordered and the main courses we had planned were a bit too much, we changed our order. The starters were great, only the main course (Portuguese meat skewer) wasn't so good. The side dishes (fries and rice) were delivered very dry and without any sauce etc. Unfortunately the meat was dry and fried to death. It's a shame, but the overall impression is still positive.

We had to wait an hour for our food because there was only one vegetarian dish. We were told the whole time that the food would come soon, but it never came. The whole group was then given a single compensatory drink, although the wrong drink was brought.

The restaurant is absolutely amazing...waiters, world class...the mussels in white wine sauce, world class...salads are top notch and turkey too...you won't find a fly in the ointment here... The restaurant is simply great 😘

Food cold. The staff mixed up the dishes. In the evening, half of the family had seafood poisoning. I don't recommend it.

Here you can find Francesinha, as I know it from Portugal. It's not currently on the menu, but will be prepared upon request. There was a surprising amount of staff present and everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Overall, the menu is very much geared towards German tastes (Wiener Schnitzel at the Portuguese restaurant?), but that's probably due to supply and demand. I would be happy to see (even) more traditional Portuguese dishes on the menu :-) I can definitely recommend Olá Lisboa!

The dishes are modest, lacking flair. They look nothing like the ones in the photos. The potatoes and vegetables added to the dishes were barely lukewarm. A vegetarian dish is simply a frozen mixture of vegetables and rice. Without any spices or sauce, they were literally frozen and delivered to the table completely cold. We returned the dish and were informed that it was completely cold. After a while it came back, slightly heated. Interestingly, exactly the same thing happened at the next table. Unfortunately, for some of us, dinner ended with stomach problems. I don't recommend it, even though it looked great.

The 3 dishes out of 7 came cold. In one dish vegetables were still frozen. Other dishes taste was ok but nothing special for sure not for the price over 20 euro’s. I will not come back

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Despite his internet renown, they failed to manage a trivial situation. Accidentally spilled an entire cocktail glass on my pants. Both waiters immediately disappeared for a few minutes while some customers at the next table offered me a napkin. After some time a gentleman came with a towel and asked me what happened? I had no idea how that cocktail got on my pants. Then he came back with a business card and repeated several times that he apologized and if I needed another pair of pants to send the receipt to the email address so that he would refund my money. At the moment I didn't even know how to react, I felt terrible, but still I stayed at the table (I think that was my mistake, but I counted on humanity). In the end they brought us the full bill, they could have offered a drink on the house or given us a discount as an apology. From my experience I know that in such situations this is the way to fix the situation at the moment. I could have just gotten up from the table and left and not cared what I did with my order, but I didn't want to mess around and mess them up. As evidence today when I sent the receipt for the purchased pants (€25!!!!!, at least that's what I deserve for the embarrassing situation I went through) to tell me that they actually told me that they were returning it the dry cleaning costs for the pants, not their value at all. For real???? I am very disappointed with the way they handled the situation. I will definitely not come here again.

Unfortunately not recommended. The prawns tasted old and musty so we had to return the plate - the second round was a little better. Unfortunately it was similar with the meat and fish platter. Dry meat and unseasoned and under-fried fries... It's a shame ☹️

This is a nice place for good seafood. The starters are the star of the show: loved the pimientos, and the potatoes (though the sauce was average), and finally the figs with sheep cheese. For the mains, the salmon was excellent. I wasn’t a huge fan of the redfish but the swordfish was good. The almond and orange sauces are both nice, but work with different things. For fish I’d recommend the orange one, but the almond one works much better for the veggies.

At first everything went very quickly, the staff got a table for two, the order was placed, drinks and food came quickly, and the empty plates were cleared away just as quickly. After sitting in front of empty glasses for half an hour (there was always staff, sometimes 3-4 people, nearby) we asked for the bill.

I wouldn't go to this place for a culinary pleasure, but it's original, packed, in the Portuguese district of Hamburg

We had a wonderful meal, were greeted in a very friendly and courteous manner and were pampered. We'll be back in June 2025!

On a sunny September day we were lucky to find a table for two outside. The fish platter for 2 people (€48) and a glass of Vinho Verde, 0.2 l each for €6.90 were ordered. Bread with alioli was served beforehand. The wine was very good, the fish platter was amazing. People passing by asked us what great things we had ordered there. There was probably a kilogram of fish on the plate in the form of 6 large fish fillets (3 types), 2 squid and 2 large scampi. Accompanied by a plate of fresh vegetables and small potatoes. A great experience visually and taste-wise. Highly recommended.

Super delicious food. You immediately feel like you are in Portugal. Be sure to reserve a table. On Friday evening we stood in front of the restaurant with an estimated 30 other people and waited for a table.

Good place for a nice lunch in a cute neighborhood

This venue remains our favourite amongst a choice of numerous similar restaurants in Hamburg's Portuguese Quarter. Highly recommend to check it out when in the area or before a concert at the Elphie. At our last visit we scoffed the fish platter and squid from the grill, which were both excellent.

The restaurant is really highly recommended!! Everything always tastes very tasty. The meat is very tender and fresh. As a starter we got bread with very tasty aioli for free. The portions are also very generous. I would prefer to make a reservation as the restaurant is always very popular. There is a very nice harmony in the Portuguese Quarter in Hamburg, as if you weren't Germany:)
