Very good food and very friendly service

Cramped in a cozy way, small, a bit noisy when it gets busy. The boss was very friendly. Unfortunately I had a bit of bad luck with the grilled fish platter, a piece of it smelled and tasted very strange and was not edible. Slight communication problems with the waiter became noticeable when I told him this and he just shrugged his shoulders. We also ordered a glass of wine and received a carafe. The paella was plentiful and tasted good. The side salad was very salty but somehow funny. The house wine and Portuguese beer were also good. A small special was priced as a large one on the bill, which we unfortunately noticed too late.

The food was really delicious. Very good pork cheeks! The aioli is just not my thing, but that's my personal taste. What I was missing, however, was a larger selection of little things. I love eating tapas. And several of them. The selection here is very limited, which is a shame. No piementos, I missed them. But again: what was there was very tasty!

We can really recommend this restaurant without reservation. You enter the restaurant and immediately feel like you are in Portugal. The food and service was simply great! We will definitely come back and enjoy the delicious food!

The food is fantastic, the staff is incredibly friendly. There is absolutely no point of criticism. 100% recommendation! Value for money is great. We packed some food for the next day because it was so delicious but we just couldn't manage it.

Yesterday I managed to visit the small but very fine Portuguese restaurant for the first time. It was a real culinary delight! The prices are very moderate. The owner and his colleagues are extremely nice and accommodating. A visit is definitely worth it!! Tip: A reservation might be recommended given the size ;)

Super romantic food, delicious bomb, super cool

I recommend calamari with potatoes baked in the oven. It couldn't be better. And then the service is so nice.

my wife and i ate paella. food was good and portion was big. yet, the owner is a grumpy guy who never smiles, he made us wait 20 minutes just to bring us the check. when i come to hamburg again, i will go somewhere else... if one does not know how to smile, he or she should go into restaurant business...

Taste partly great, partly not very interesting. Service nice but a bit special

The food was delicious and the advice was good. The two of us had a fish platter, first of all scampi fried in garlic. We could have been fed well with 3 people, as the platter came with two kinds of potatoes and salad. At the end you were allowed to choose whether you wanted a schnapps/liqueur on the house. We decided on liqueur and 4 bottles and 2 glasses were put on the table for us to serve ourselves!! We were allowed to try everything as often as we wanted. Really nice. The furnishings are rather simple and a bit old. Toilets very tidy with cloth towels per person. But the food was really very good!!

So inconspicuous from the outside, but from the inside you feel like you've been transported to Portugal. And then the food!!! I have rarely eaten food that was as delicious as it was here and as rich as it was here. I was able to choose between braised or grilled ox and then you got both, great. Normally the restaurant should always be packed. Absolute top tip

We can really recommend this restaurant without reservation. The service is very courteous and friendly, we immediately felt completely at home. The food was simply delicious, all the dishes tasted great and were very filling. The house wine is also highly recommended, we were even allowed to try a glass each beforehand to decide. Very nice place. Must order the Gambas as starter, eat them with your hands!!! delicious. perfectly grilled. Followed by the Lamb clay pot. comes with two types of potatoes. They even offered to add more meat for free but i wasn’t in the mood to go into a food coma. Note that the english menu has the old prices but marginally higher. If you are in the area drop by. They are even pet friendly. table near by had a dog and they brought him a bowl for water.

I ordered Grill Fischplatte and as you can see the amount of food served for one person is humongous. And the quality and taste of the food was excellent. All the fish served were very fresh. The ambience isn’t fancy but gives the vibe of an old Portugese restaurant. The wait time is hardly few minutes for the food… Highly recommended place 😊♥️

Were on July 26th. with 14 people for dinner there. From the first to the last minute it was an unforgettable experience! Very friendly welcome, super attentive service and we felt like we were invited to good friends. The Vinho Verde goes perfectly with food, fresh and tasty. And now for the food: we were served a nice selection of starters, bread with aioli, ham, salami, cheese, scampi, grilled sausage, baked sardines... Everything was absolutely delicious 😋. The main courses served, on which we were also given friendly advice, left nothing to be desired. Meat dishes (Iberico pork cheeks, lamb fillets, braised ox...) and fish dishes (seafood rice, sea bream, zander...) were all a delight! I myself am a master chef and take my hat off to these professionals, chapeau! We'd love to come back!

We visited this restaurant for Paella, and it was great. The portion for two turned out to be more like a portion for three and delicious. 😁😋 We also ordered two side salads; however, they were too expensive for the quality provided. 🫰🤔 Also, thanks to the staff, they found a table for us on a busy Saturday evening, though we had no reservation. 🤗

I recently visited this Portuguese restaurant and had an amazing experience. The steak was delicious and tender, with a very good sauce that complemented it perfectly. The roasted potatoes and shrimp were also delightful. Highly recommend this place for a great meal!

Nothing negative to comment about this restaurant. The fried cod with onion was 10, they also served us a tapa of fried fish on the house while we waited for the food. The attention was impeccable, they were attentive to us at all times and even asked us if we wanted to repeat and the dishes are very complete. The atmosphere is very calm and cozy, with fado music in the background. Completely recommended.

Delicious food with very nice owners. Inexpensive drinkable wine. There was bread and aioli, along with salad. The tapas, hmm. Were OK. The rabbit very good. Add the fried potatoes, hmm. I would have preferred the rosemary potatoes, which were served with the dish of the day, sole. The pudding afterwards was also delicious and you were given an open bottle of port wine to taste it with. Nice.

Tuna salad not worth 9 euros salad roughly all cut with canned tuna on top Fish platter was also not the Börner one fish had a very bitter taste towards the end of the platter I also had problems with my stomach and had to go to the toilet more often The tapas were a complete joke, all slapped on top of each other on a small plate I don't know how they come up with the rating, but it was the worst restaurant I've visited in the Portuguese quarter

We were so excited. A very cozy restaurant and the food was so delicious. The steak was so tender and there were as many side dishes as you wanted. The garlic dip was also perfect in advance. This was also added later. At the end, 4 bottles of nightcaps were put down. Cherry liqueur, grappa, almond liqueur and brandy. You could help yourself as you wish and none of it was on the bill. Even our dog got a bowl of treats and water right from the start. It was a very nice evening and the service was first class. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant 100%!!!! Many thanks to the entire team and the excellent chef.

Absolute recommendation. There is a great selection of fish, meat, wines and much more. The service is very personal and you immediately feel at home here. In terms of price, what is on offer here is more than fair.

We ate paella, it was tasty and enough for three people, they served a free roll with garlic sauce that was also very tasty and suitable for a starter. The food had different meats, one was a bit hard to chew and there was a bit noisy.

If you are looking for a very good place to eat in Hamburg, in the Portuguese Quarter. Shouldn't go to the tourist temples. I came across this restaurant on a side street through a recommendation from a Hamburg colleague. My summary: if you are looking for excellent hospitality with a personal flair, as well as a very, very good meal with a great house wine, you must definitely visit this restaurant.

The food was very good, especially the rabbit in the clay pot. Unfortunately it was very crowded and loud in the evening. Pleasant table conversations were not possible. The service is friendly, but understaffed and so patience is required.

The good Lord must also have some culinary roots from Portugal. The evening was sensational. A piece of Lisbon or Porto directly in Hamburg. The food, the service and the ambience left nothing to be desired. Foi um prazer, muito obrigado

Charming and quaint restaurant near the Landungsbrücken. We were able to enjoy delicious dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was very nice and attentive.

We had a great evening there as a family. There was a fine selection of tapas and meat and fish dishes and the food was very, very tasty. Added to this was the very friendly and warm service and the cozy and rustic atmosphere. We would have liked to spend more time here if our little one hadn't had to go to bed, who also really enjoyed it. Thank you very much for the lovely evening 😊

There are fancier and cheaper restaurants in Hamburg's Portuguese Quarter - but no better ones.

Delicious food and courteous service. We had grilled salmon and the fish platter. The white wine was tasty. To tide us over until the food arrived, there were olives, bread and aioli. The only thing that was left out was the nightcap.

For me the best shop in the entire Portuguese Quarter... Grilled ox at its best!

Das Essen war hervorragend und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir wurden gut beraten bei der Auswahl der Gerichte und Getränke. Wer es urig liebt und den modernen schnickschnack nicht zugetan ist, der wird hier nicht enttäuscht.

Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienungen! Das Essen schmeckte bisher immer sehr gut und der Preis für die Qualität und Quantität ist angemessen. Zum Abschluss gab es bisher immer eine größere Auswahl an Schnäpsen zum Selbsteinschenken. Trotz der großen Auswahl an Restaurants im Viertel kommen wir gerne hierher.

Service war in Ordnung. Das Essen allerdings weniger, teilweise sehr versalzen, teilweise nicht wirklich genießbar. Auch der Aperol war alles andere als lecker

Cozy place, the food was incredible, I ordered rice with shrimps and fish, the portion was huge and the taste unbeatable. Even though the food was amazing, the service was even better, the waiter was fully attentive to everything, if I come back to Hamburg for sure I'll repeat this. Just a small critic of the alioli, a little bitter.

Darf man eigentlich gar nicht weiter empfehlen, so gut ist das! Inklusive der super netten Bedienung.

A quaint little restaurant in the Portuguese quarters region of Hamburg. The service is excellent. The food is great. Very little options for vegetarians, but they prepared a delicious plate of grilled vegetables for me.
