Casa Franco - Casa Caramba in Hamburg

Die Casa ist ein Menü Restaurant. Es gibt ein Menü innerhalb dessen man variieren kann, aber das ist es dann auch. Das Essen war Spitze, die Unterhaltung auch. Ein Missverständnis bei der Reservierung wurde zu beiderseitigen Verständnis positiv geklärt. Das einzige leicht Negative ist der nicht vorhandene portugiesische Wein, stattdessen gab es einen leckere Weißburgunder aus Rheinhessen als Hauswein. Das hat die Stimmung nicht getrübt.

für 2 reserviert - zu viert gekommen: kein Problem, kommt rein ihr seit Willkommen. noch nie so eine Gastfreundschaft in einem Lokal erlebt. Man ist Gast, König, immer an erster Stelle. Bestellen? Muss man nicht - man bekommt einfach das was an dem Tag gekocht wird. Die Qualität? Überragend....besser als jedes in den social media geheiptes Restaurant in allen Großstädten in Deutschland. Kein Essen - ein Erlebnis für die Sinne, Körper und den Geist! Bestes Restaurant in dem ich in HH jemals war....hier fühlt man sich wohl!!!Unglaublich viel gelacht....

Casa Franco es un restaurante de menú completo que puede elegir entre 3 y 4 platos. Entremedias se le servirán chupitos en la casa, así como música de guitarra. El propietario es muy amable y comprometido. La comida es muy sabrosa y siempre de alta calidad. Tampoco es muy estricto sobre lo que bebiste. La vibra y la atmósfera divertida es mucho más importante para él. Estuve allí en 4 ocasiones, la mayoría fueron a aniversarios o vacaciones. Siempre fue una época estupenda, sobre todo esta vez, en la que mi amigo celebró su cumpleaños y Franco fue más allá, una vez que se enteró. Siempre una experiencia increíble!

Mi amigo reservé una mesa aquí por casualidad, yendo solo en otras reseñas. Permítanme decirles que no lamentamos haber venido aquí. Del 17 al 20 nos sirvieron deliciosos platos mediterráneos acompañados de música en vivo en la que participó todo el restaurante. Realmente sentí como si te hubieran invitado a su familia. No hay menú fijo y eso es parte del encanto. Si solo tienes tiempo para una comida en Hamborg, ve a Casa Franco. Sé que volveré 😀

Abends im Portugiesenviertel spontan einen Tisch zu finden ist ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit, wie jeder weiß, der dort schon einmal war. Franco machte uns die Tür auf: „Reserviert? Natürlich nicht. Mögt Ihr Fisch? Natürlich. Ein Tisch ist nicht gekommen, also kommt rein.“ Keine Speisekarte, 4-Gänge-Menü, super orchestriert von Hausherrn. Eine kulinarische Rundreise durch die Meere & über die Wiesen. Wunderbar abgestimmt mit Wein. Und von Ricardo auf seiner Akustikguitarre begleitet. Es ist ein Spektakel für die Sinne - unbedingt lohnenswert!

The quality of the food got worse with each course - in our opinion it's not worth the high price. Unfortunately, more than half of our group suffered food poisoning after the visit. This must not happen! Service took quite a long time, our drink orders usually only came after repeated requests. You have to like the ambience...probably a matter of taste. If you don't want to get completely drunk, you should choose another restaurant.

Hier muss man gewesen sein. Gelebte Gastronomie mit einem engagierten Chef hinter dem Tresen und am Tisch. Das Essen war Mega Lecker. Es wird ein Menü angeboten. Preis-Leistung war perfekt. Der Sänger mit seiner Gitarre war mir etwas zu laut. Das gehört aber zu dem Lokal.

Completely crazy and super beautiful!! As a group (just like that) it is the experience with the culinary highlights. The food is fantastic! Flambéed prawns in garlic as a starter - heavenly and devilishly good! Then perfectly delicious fish of two kinds with excellent taste, which even convinced non-fish eaters. The steak can be a mega culinary treat that is second to none. The dessert was also extremely tasty... plus the entertainment with live guitar and a sing-along atmosphere was at its best. 15 of us rocked the hut and the other 60 guests were always vocal too... it was a brilliant evening!! Drinks, wine and much more for everything as an all-in...

I can't remember the last time, or ever, I walked out of a restaurant feeling so satisfied. The food is just pure vacation. I felt like I was in the Algarve. The ambience is great, but the service is the best I've ever received - I would never have been welcomed so openly.

We ended up at Casa Caramba in Hamburg absolutely by chance and were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is an event location in a class of its own! The Spanish-South American cuisine is simply delicious, and the atmosphere is full of joy and love. The boss runs the restaurant with passion, which is reflected in every detail. The music creates a fantastic atmosphere and contributes to the unforgettable experience. We had incredible fun and were also treated to a steak bonus, which made the whole thing perfect, even if we couldn't have eaten much more. Casa Caramba is definitely a place to visit - a great little restaurant and a great experience that we won't soon forget!

Wir waren geschäftlich hier und waren echt positiv überrascht. Der Gastgeber ein echtes Unikat. Hält Ansprachen, strahlt Präsenz aus. Zwischendurch trinkt er kurze mit und schreit „Arriba!“ die Köche kommen mit dem Fisch zum zeigen, ein Gitarrenspieler kommt dazu. Vorspeise Garnelen wurden am Tisch flambiert. Hauptgänge auch mega. Leider mussten wir dann wirklich sehr lange warten auf das Dessert, welches auch nicht so gut war. Eine Eiskugel und ein Stück Donauwelle mit Früchten. Da hatten wir durch die Zeit davor mehr erwartet.

Four of us were in Hamburg and spontaneously searched for Portuguese restaurants on Google and came across Casa Franco. It's a very small restaurant, but it would be difficult for Franco to implement his concept otherwise. Franco sat down and explained to us that things were a little different for him. Good thing, because it was an absolutely fantastic dining experience. We didn't look bad when Franco told us that he didn't have a card. He asked us if we wanted fish or meat and what we wanted to spend. At first everyone was into meat, then he raved about his fresh halibut and suddenly we were all into fish - even those who aren't big fish fans. “Let me do it” was Franco’s credo and we really weren’t disappointed for our trust. He himself is in the kitchen and everyone was given a large plate with three large fish fillets, a fiery pasta, scampi, seaweed salad, truffle chips, pan-fried vegetables and much more for €30. The plates were about the size of large pizza plates and were really well filled. Even though he is in the kitchen himself, he maintains contact with the guests when he presents his dishes in a spectacular way. His multi-course menu costs €69-79 and we are already looking forward to our next visit to Franco.

It was not previously informed that card payment was not possible and reference was made to the ATM machine opposite where cash was available. Food was ok, the restaurant is small and loud. The price of the food is too high. It's a shame, we expected more of it

Once and never again, no choice could be made between meat and fish. 70€ for a 3-course menu of this kind is absolutely not justified! In the end we couldn't even pay with an EC card and we were sent to the ATM.

The atmosphere while eating was great, but the restaurant was too small, so we had to sit with a strange family and had no privacy. The singer was good but the quality of the food was very average and overpriced for what it was worth anyway. The host was friendly but smarmy and said you were my family before we met😂.

A double, milestone birthday led us to Franco. One of the four of us already knew his restaurant and it was famous anyway, so there was great anticipation. What can I say? Ein kleines, eher unauffälliges Testaurant im Portugiesenviertel. Wir wären da niemals hingekommen, wenn wir nicht einen Tip bekommen hätten. Und der hat sich gelohnt. Der Chef - Franco - lebt Service. Der Gast ist ihm das Wichtigste. Auch wenn er manchmal etwas "drüber" ist, ist er sehr sympathisch und nett. Dazu hatte er an dem Abend einen Gitarrenspieler und Sänger, der mit guter Musik und seiner extrem witzigen und sympathischen Art die Gäste verzauberte. Die Qualität der Speisen waren exzellent und zwar durch die Bank. Wenn überhaupt kleine Abstriche zu machen sind, dann an den Getränken. Bier und Wein und auch die zwischendurch immer wieder servierten Schnäpse waren gut, Cocktails sind nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen. Das hat dem Abend aber keinen Abbruch getan. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß!

Food was delicious. The menu displayed is not self-explanatory, you get the impression that you have to order a 3 or 4 course menu. The waiter gave us great advice and was very friendly. Although we got 2 meat platters for €35, one would have been enough. It was probably a communication problem. Food was also very well received by our picky children. Highly recommended locally - reasonable price-performance ratio for Hamburg.

A plate of sea bass, 2 prawns, 1 small piece of tuna with vegetables for €30. The quality was so-so. 1 glass of wine for €7.50. There is no menu to choose from, you should let yourself be surprised. I saw the fish plate in another restaurant a few meters away for €17.50. Conclusion: I was kindly ripped off.

We spent a rushed weekend in Hamburg because of a trade fair and happened upon the “Casa Franco”. Saturday evening, no reservations, packed. Incredibly warm, friendly and as if it were a matter of course, Franco immediately offered us a comfortable table and we agreed to the 4-course surprise. It was rich, varied and really incredibly tasty. Perfectly prepared fish and meat that had already fallen apart on the fork were brought to our table with a smile and a great show (gambas served as a starter). A guitarist also offered live music. The whole atmosphere made us think we were on the Mediterranean. We can only warmly recommend Casa Franco and will definitely come back. We would like to thank Franco and his team for the unforgettable evening and look forward to our next visit. CARAMBA!

The food is undoubtedly great, the ambience is so-so, the singer was good, but the chef's whole show seemed a bit stale. When you then see Franco tearing up his team in front of the guests, the visit somehow leaves a strange aftertaste. At that price we'd rather eat somewhere else next time.

If you are in Hamburg you definitely have to go to Casa Franco. Very well prepared food of brilliant quality, plus service that gives the guest a "warm welcome" feeling without being intrusive. The live musician is a mixture of entertainer and comedian has a lot of musical craftsmanship. And of course Franco, who is an absolutely positive, crazy restaurateur, knows how to entertain his guests extremely well. We are often in Hamburg and there will be no way around Casa Franco in the future.

A super cozy atmosphere, freshly and deliciously prepared food of a high standard, we had a 4-course menu. Singing performances with guitar offer fun and entertainment. There are two reservation dates: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to... Very nice, friendly and funny staff. We'd love to come back.

It started with a personal and very friendly welcome from Franco, you immediately felt comfortable and somehow familiar. What followed can be described without exaggeration as one of the most beautiful, funniest, tastiest and also drunkest evenings we have had in a long time. And of course it was clear that there was no menu, but what was put on the table was eaten! 😊 and that was simply a dream!!! Excellent quality of fish, meat and everything around it, a bombastic atmosphere throughout the entire evening (here again a very special thanks to Ricardo, who provided the perfect live music with his guitar and wonderfully endearing manner) and a host and team that are second to none seek! We were looking for a nice fish restaurant for our Hamburg weekend and found this unique, wonderful and imaginative restaurant. The chef served us a mixed fish platter with absolutely fresh ingredients, wonderful, absolutely recommended.

Franco is an entertainer. Have been working in the catering industry for many years. He built everything himself - a big cinema. The live cooking is simply amazing. The menu is actually fish or meat and the food is a culinary delight - 5 stars plus! There are no large menus here. With the live music, the ambience is totally culinary and worth experiencing. We were here on the occasion of a birthday during our visit to Hamburg due to the Northern Report and were not disappointed. The 4-course menu is unique, the atmosphere is very cozy and the background music is very entertaining. All in all a very pleasant stay with a great surprise menu. Hello, I am glad that it is possible to write a recommendation. I went to eat at the Casa Caramba restaurant last Saturday (June 15, 2024) and unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations at all, as I expected to visit a PORTUGUESE restaurant and not a mixture of everything else. What is offered is that there will be lovely live music, you would think it would be Portuguese music, like Fado, unfortunately a big disappointment. The interior where the guests sit is pleasant, but too loud, and it gets even louder when the singer comes. The food: We made a reservation at 5pm to ONLY eat the 3 courses as we were told and Oops, we were supposed to pay for 4 courses in the bill. The quality of the food is generally not exceptional, rather poor!, especially when you compare the relationship between price and quality. In general the food and wine was not good and the price was extremely high.

We came there without a reservation and were still given a very friendly welcome. They prepared a mixed fish platter for us - it was excellent! There were also schnapps rounds and musical entertainment in between. My partner's gluten intolerance was also taken into account. I can't say whether someone with celiac disease can eat there. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a fun and tasteful evening.

Between the courses there are liquid digestive aids on the house and atmospheric singing performances. A great atmosphere quickly develops throughout the entire restaurant and you come into contact with the neighboring tables. Tourists meet Hamburg boys and deerns and enjoy. Absolute recommendation and I will be there again soon. My next visit to Hamburg will definitely be dragged there.😄

Eten was zeer lekker, maar niet echt portugees. De zaak is duidelijk aan renovatie toe en de prijs is er echt helemaal over. De brave man met guitaar maakte ook niet veel goed.

A very special experience. My husband and I were in Hamburg on our first wedding anniversary and reserved a table at Franco's for the evening and didn't regret it for a second. Franco simply chose and cooked such great dishes that we were more than thrilled. Something completely different in every course, but every course is fantastic in its own way. And above all, there are a lot of exotic things that you wouldn't have otherwise ordered yourself. During the breaks there were several rounds of schnapps on the house and live musical entertainment with humor :) every now and then it got a little louder, but this was adjusted to the mood of the guests, which of course was boiled by the hit move 😁 This definitely won't be the last time we visit Franco. Thanks to Franco and his team for this sensational evening 😍

Walking through the Portugese quarter, O was recommended to go here for dinner, I see full restaurants all along. Found 1 table, but after 10 min of waiting for service I moved on. Then, as I had given up and heading back towards the river, Casa Franco appears. 4 small tables outside and a SET MENU! I LOVE when they specialise and you have to take what they have. Only 3 starters, mains and dessert, meat, fish or vegetarian + an optional surprise 4th dish. You know they have planned it well when they have a small, set menu.. Got great service. Friendly, explaining the menu. Obvious that most guests expect they they will receive a big menu to choose from. Flaming gambas to start, delicious fish and dessert. If you go to the portugese quarter, seek out this hidden gem of gastronomic excellence!! If you have not been to the portugese quarter in Hamburg yet, what the f... is wrong with you.

We were there yesterday and had the 3-course menu. It was very good and tasty, great quality and excellently prepared. The quantity is also good. The price of €69 is therefore justified. Dear Franco, Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the evening (April 29th, 2024) was a big disappointment for you. Admittedly, we've already been to Mälzer (Bullerei) and Henssler (Henssler & Henssler) this week and my daughter wasn't feeling so well, but the whole evening really wasn't good. First of all, we sat right by the stairs, which was ok for three people, but if there were four of us - as planned - that would be really stupid. Then we weren't asked whether we wanted a three- or four-course menu. When I asked when we would decide whether we would rather have fish or meat on the menu, we were told that this happens after the starter (gambas). The prawns served were good, but the oil was too much and the garlic was hard to taste, even though you could see quantities of it (frozen goods?). We were then told that the snack was always fish and the main course was always meat. Things are so different online. The fish snack was okay, but not really a big deal. The risotto tasted like NOTHING. My son's criticism of the entire course was answered with the words "Do you want a piece of meat fried?" commented. At the end he got a fried piece of fish fillet. Maybe you didn't really understand his words. The main course (we were looking forward to the dry-aged beef on display) was a total disappointment. Steak not dry-aged, cheeks seemed like convenience to me (reminded me very much of the beetle cheeks from Aldi). My daughter was no longer feeling well and left the restaurant before dessert (for which we only had to pay for a 3-course menu). We had the main course packed, hoping to eat it the next day. Unfortunately, the service staff didn't pack any sauces, which actually made it impossible to warm the food. My request to pack dessert too was rejected with the words "it's not worth it", which is why I got the discount (3-course instead of 4-course menu). Apparently there really is a communication deficit. I was surprised by the "free" schnapps after each course, which culminated in the setting down of several full schnapps bottles and empty glasses before the main course with the message "drink as much as you want/can". Is this supposed to cover up the lack of quality of the following dishes? The promised show was just the guitar player playing no Portuguese songs, but sad songs by Simon & Garfunkel or "Hotel California". My daughter claps more out of pity because no one listened to the “bard.” And last but not least, there was no Franco Caramba in the store either!! And for this price? Really sad... I paid less for the menu at Mälzer and Henssler and was able to enjoy first-class food there. Unfortunately not with you. The only bright spot was that my daughter was given a non-alcoholic cocktail (after refusing the liquor). That's too little for 70 € / person. Oh yes: I haven't received an answer to my attempted call or the corresponding email (due to possible cancellation or postponement). Nobody could be reached by phone (homepage: you can reach us all day long). There was also no response to this criticism that I sent to Franco on Google before this review. What a pity! Es war ein unglaublicher Abend zum 50ten geburtstag meiner Frau. Ein kleines nettes Lokal im Portugiesen Viertel. Das Personal zuvorkommend, freundlich und nett. Live Musik mit sehr guter Stimmung, Viele Schnäpse in verschiedenster Auswahl. Das Essen war Top und reichlich und die Show nebenher war Pompös. Ich komme gerne wieder zu Franco. Danke und Caramba bis zum nächsten mal.

The location is special, as is its owner, Franco, who moderates the meal with his friendly and spirited manner. The quality of the food is great and the price-performance ratio is great. A great end to a visit to Hamburg. Always happy - but remember to make a reservation in good time :-)

It was an incredible evening for my wife's 50th birthday. A nice little restaurant in the Portuguese Quarter. The staff was courteous, friendly and nice. Live music with a very good atmosphere, lots of schnapps in a wide variety of selections. The food was great and plentiful and the show was spectacular. I would love to come back to Franco. Thanks and Caramba until next time.

A small, fine and highly recommended restaurant. We spent a fantastic evening with business customers here. The food is absolutely great. Great service and live music. We will come back at any time.
