The pizza was absolutely perfect. The order was taken and served relatively quickly. The service was quite good. A hard-working man who always caters to his guests' wishes.

I ordered the meat platter with four different cuts of meat. Spoiler alert: It's chicken, turkey, lamb, and beef. The ham and turkey steaks were well seasoned and grilled. Unfortunately, the lamb was much too small and had more bones and gristle than meat. The beef steak was also small, full of tendons and gristle, and cooked all the way through. A bit underdone for the price. What a shame!

The first and last visit! Even the reservation process got off to a rough start. When I called, I received only the brief response to please send a message via WhatsApp. This message has remained unanswered to this day. I finally received a reply to an email I sent the next day. On the day of the visit, I received a message that the actual restaurant was being renovated and that they would be located at the Westminster restaurant instead. So far, so good. The evening of our visit, we were informed that card payments were not possible. However, based on the reviews on various portals I subsequently read, this has been the case for some time. So why wasn't this information also provided in advance via WhatsApp? After all, not everyone carries sufficient cash and doesn't want to sponsor third-party banks with fees. At the restaurant, we were then informed that this was standard practice and that there would only be a surprise menu with three or four courses. Again: So far, so good. The starter was advertised as a pan-fried scampi, which unfortunately consisted mostly of octopus. They could have advertised it that way, especially since not all of us four like octopus. Disappointing... The second course was sea bass with two pieces of tuna, rice, and vegetables. The fish was well-cooked and tasty, the rest was mediocre at best. Since the beef advertised for the third course would have been too much for us, we skipped that course and moved on to dessert. This consisted of a chocolate lava cake (not homemade in our opinion), a mini scoop of mediocre vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and pickled fruit that wasn't fresh and none of us liked. The service was unattentive. The icing on the cake for us was the bill of approximately €315. A real price-smash for four people – in a negative sense. Shocked, we paid and left the restaurant. The email then revealed the secret: €69 for a three-course meal. In our opinion, having eaten much better and cheaper meals in many excellent restaurants, this price is completely unreasonable! Consequences of all this: It was our first and last visit to Casa Franco! No more surprise menus without asking the price first!

We went to your restaurant today based on recommendations and were unfortunately a little disappointed. The food was ok but for 70 euros there is still room for improvement (plates were thin, table was more beautifully set) and the atmosphere wasn't particularly nice. There was no musician either, which is a shame. The rose wine was much too warm and there wasn't even any ice to cool it. At 40 euros a bottle and we had 3 bottles, I expected a well-chilled wine. It's a shame that the alternative restaurant doesn't live up to the expectations of previous reviews. I hope you can get back to your standards. Unfortunately, we can't recommend your restaurant at the moment.

On the recommendation of a friend, we were looking forward to an evening at Franco's. Unfortunately, the expected Caramba effect didn't happen. It all started with us being given a spontaneous change of location in the morning. This one was a few meters away from our usual spot, so it wasn't that bad. We were seated early, which wasn't even remotely full. After a brief introduction, things got going quickly (a slight feeling of being rushed). The bottles of water and wine arrived very early, so it was no surprise when we finally received the price for the house wine. After all, €39.00 for a bottle of wine is quite steep (there was no drinks menu or anything like that in advance). The first course, fried shrimp with wakame salad and sea asparagus, was at least very tasty. The second course, a mixture of fish and vegetables, had its ups and downs. Here, we had a piece of sea bass, tuna steak with teriyaki sauce, paired with some rice and vegetables. The fish was very tasty, but some of the vegetables were too spicy. The third course was duck breast with a teriyaki red wine sauce. Unfortunately, some of us found it too dry. That said, we're still wondering what duck in a teriyaki red wine sauce has to do with Portugal. The fourth and final course was a lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Okay, but not a highlight. Between each course, there was always a shot of schnapps. The whole group toasted it together. Unexpectedly, this was also the only interaction with the Franco imitation, as the original wasn't there. No show, no live music. Overall, the food was okay, but it didn't justify the price. Unfortunately, there was no sign of the Great Caramba.

An evening full of enjoyment and atmosphere. Casa Franco impresses across the board: The food was outstanding – a true experience both in terms of taste and appearance. The service was attentive, charming, and always on hand, without ever being intrusive. A special highlight was the live singing, which added a special depth and atmosphere to the evening. The successful combination of cuisine, service, and musical accompaniment makes Casa Franco a top address for enjoyable evenings. We will be happy to return.

On the day of our reservation, we received a message stating that the restaurant was moving to a different location in Westminster for renovations. When we asked how long the renovations would take, we were unable to provide an answer. However, we were informed that the restaurant was still operating at its original address. I suspect we ended up at a branch of Casa Franco Carambo without knowing it. The restaurant was only half full, and the main course was duck teriyaki.

Eine email Erinnerung einen Tag vorher, mit der Drohung, eine Strafe zahlen zu müssen bei Nichtkommen. Als wir dann pünktlich vor Ort waren sahen wir ein Schild, dass das Lokal vorübergehend verlegt wurde und man in 550 Metern ins Westminster kommen sollen. Dort angekommen war das Lokal zu. Ein Anruf auf die in der email angegebenen Telefonnummer erfolgte auch nicht. Insgesamt eine traurige Veranstaltung. Man muss den Inhaber fragen, ob er sein Lokal im Griff hat. Im nahegelegenen Rodizio hatten wir dann einen schönen Abend. Also bloß nicht mehr Casa Franco buchen!

We've been looking forward to it for months. We go there every year and have a great time with friends. The day before our appointment, we received a WhatsApp message. It was very professional, and at first I thought it was a fake. It wasn't until it was confirmed again that the dinner would be held at an alternative location due to renovations on Rambachstrasse that I began to have my concerns. But Franco will do it. We thought so, and we arrived. The stay always includes an overnight stay. So, for dinner and an overnight stay for four people, the €1,000 is easily spent. Now, the stay. Nothing was like the original restaurant. The service was very poor. The food was only mediocre and sometimes inedible due to the sauce. The musician gave it his all. And he noticed the rather bad atmosphere. I'm really, really sorry, Franco. If you're reading this, change it or wait until the "renovation" is complete. Unfortunately, it's not going to work.

I don't recommend this restaurant. We received careless service, the food was bad. I ordered fish and got meat with a very bad sauce. The dessert was nothing special, and the wine was too expensive! The value for money is poor. It was hectic and hectic. Never again :(

Today was our fourth or fifth visit to Franco's. The original restaurant is closed for renovations. There's an alternative restaurant. So far, so good. Nothing was like the original restaurant. The prawns were served on a plate, not flambéed in a pan as usual. The "intermediate course" was fish. It was just one piece of fish, not the nicely presented plate with a selection of several fish fillets with great sauces and salad we're used to. The main course was meat. It was a piece of beef fillet with teriyaki sauce. The sauce overpowered all the other flavors. The vegetables were completely mushy/overcooked and way too spicy. We're much more familiar with this course. Dessert was a chocolate cake. Of course, it wasn't homemade and came with boring vanilla ice cream and canned fruit. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The service left a lot to be desired! We were extremely disappointed and definitely won't be coming back anytime soon.

According to its own statement, the restaurant is a menu restaurant with no food or drink menu. That alone doesn't have to be bad, although the implementation clearly has room for improvement. The wine selection was: white, red or rosé. The menu consists of 4 courses. Course 1: Gambas - was fine, although it wasn't anything special that you would have to go to a restaurant for. Way too much garlic and just oily. Course 2: Sea bass with rice and pasta with vegetables. - Rice was overcooked and cold, pasta was also overcooked, vegetables were overcooked, the sea bass was well done, but the skin could have been fried much more so that it could be eaten. Course 3: "Meat" There wasn't much more information in the verbal menu description. - We skipped this walk. On the one hand because the starter and the fish course were such a large portion that we couldn't understand why a main course should be served and on the other hand because the previous courses were not convincing. Course 4: Dessert: chocolate souffle with ice cream - In our opinion, it was a non-homemade souffle with store-bought ice cream. The service was not professional. The price was around 155€ for 2 people and this service was far from justified, not to say completely overpriced. Despite the small restaurant, it seemed more like a mass processing operation.

We received a confirmation with the request to make sure we chose the right restaurant on Raumbachstrasse. When we got there, there was a sign on the door saying it was closed for renovations and to please go to Franco's other restaurant. Yes, the food was quite good. But: lots of frozen and convenience foods. Fresh from the market that morning???? Noooo! It was a nice, quiet evening... But somehow we feel cheated. Definitely not what we expected... The price for the set menu was absolutely unjustified; they insisted we should pay the €79 from the "real" restaurant and not the €30 listed. That's not kind; proximity borders on fraud.

Unique culinary experience. If you like entertainment, passion and delicious food - you will love Casa Franco. Especially in summer, it is a highlight to sit outside all evening and experience the energy of the Portuguese Quarter. Great recommendation!

Am Tag vor unserer Reservierung bekamen wir eine Bestätigung, am Tag unserer Reservierung fiel Franco ein, dass er seinen Laden renoviert und wir ins Westminster kommen müssen. Vorweg gab es Aufbackbrötchen und irgend etwas fettiges ohne Geschmack. Die Scampis werden nicht mehr flambiert, der Fisch ist trocken und kommt mit eiskalten Antipasti (?), das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart, dazu ein paar Kartoffeln, die vielleicht mal neben Rosmarin lagen, Dessert bestand aus billigem, künstlichen Erdbeereis und Fertigkuchen aus dem Discounter, 79€ dafür plus Getränke. Früher war Franco mal ein Grant für einen tollen Abend. Jetzt ist es leider schlecht und nicht mehr empfehlenswert. Wir waren immer gerne dort. Waren! Gestern das letzte Mal.

The Casa is a set menu restaurant. There's a menu that can be easily varied. The food is exceptionally good.

Die Casa ist ein Menü Restaurant. Es gibt ein Menü innerhalb dessen man variieren kann, aber das ist es dann auch. Das Essen war Spitze, die Unterhaltung auch. Ein Missverständnis bei der Reservierung wurde zu beiderseitigen Verständnis positiv geklärt. Das einzige leicht Negative ist der nicht vorhandene portugiesische Wein, stattdessen gab es einen leckere Weißburgunder aus Rheinhessen als Hauswein. Das hat die Stimmung nicht getrübt.

The food and service were good. But it was so cold in the rooms that you couldn't enjoy the food. Fish and meat were served at the same time, and you didn't have a chance to eat it warm. There were always shots of schnapps/rum, and a musician tried to lighten the mood. The supposedly trendy restaurant was almost empty. Besides us, there was only one other couple there. And you could only pay in cash. At €79 per person, we expected more.

Highly recommended. Excellent service, delicious food, and a great selection. Excellent value for money.

für 2 reserviert - zu viert gekommen: kein Problem, kommt rein ihr seit Willkommen. noch nie so eine Gastfreundschaft in einem Lokal erlebt. Man ist Gast, König, immer an erster Stelle. Bestellen? Muss man nicht - man bekommt einfach das was an dem Tag gekocht wird. Die Qualität? Überragend....besser als jedes in den social media geheiptes Restaurant in allen Großstädten in Deutschland. Kein Essen - ein Erlebnis für die Sinne, Körper und den Geist! Bestes Restaurant in dem ich in HH jemals war....hier fühlt man sich wohl!!!Unglaublich viel gelacht....

The food was wonderful: a 4-course menu with a free birthday course, so 5 courses at a great price. The atmosphere was super cozy and friendly. Several rounds of alcohol were served on the house, including a variety of drinks. The staff and the bartender were also great. It was a very nice evening with friends. I'll definitely be back.

Mögt Ihr Fisch? Natürlich. Ein Tisch ist nicht gekommen, also kommt rein.“ Keine Speisekarte, 4-Gänge-Menü, super orchestriert von Hausherrn. Eine kulinarische Rundreise durch die Meere & über die Wiesen. Wunderbar abgestimmt mit Wein. Und von Ricardo auf seiner Akustikguitarre begleitet. Es ist ein Spektakel für die Sinne - unbedingt lohnenswert!

The quality of the food got worse with each course - in our opinion it's not worth the high price. Unfortunately, more than half of our group suffered food poisoning after the visit. This must not happen! Service took quite a long time, our drink orders usually only came after repeated requests. You have to like the ambience...probably a matter of taste. If you don't want to get completely drunk, you should choose another restaurant.

Hier muss man gewesen sein. Gelebte Gastronomie mit einem engagierten Chef hinter dem Tresen und am Tisch. Das Essen war Mega Lecker. Es wird ein Menü angeboten. Preis-Leistung war perfekt. Der Sänger mit seiner Gitarre war mir etwas zu laut. Das gehört aber zu dem Lokal.

Completely crazy and super beautiful!! As a group (just like that) it is the experience with the culinary highlights. The food is fantastic! Flambéed prawns in garlic as a starter - heavenly and devilishly good! Then perfectly delicious fish of two kinds with excellent taste, which even convinced non-fish eaters. The steak can be a mega culinary treat that is second to none. The dessert was also extremely tasty... plus the entertainment with live guitar and a sing-along atmosphere was at its best. 15 of us rocked the hut and the other 60 guests were always vocal too... it was a brilliant evening!! Drinks, wine and much more for everything as an all-in...

I can't remember the last time, or ever, I walked out of a restaurant feeling so satisfied. The food is just pure vacation. I felt like I was in the Algarve. The ambience is great, but the service is the best I've ever received - I would never have been welcomed so openly.

We ended up at Casa Caramba in Hamburg absolutely by chance and were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is an event location in a class of its own! The Spanish-South American cuisine is simply delicious, and the atmosphere is full of joy and love. The boss runs the restaurant with passion, which is reflected in every detail. The music creates a fantastic atmosphere and contributes to the unforgettable experience. We had incredible fun and were also treated to a steak bonus, which made the whole thing perfect, even if we couldn't have eaten much more. Casa Caramba is definitely a place to visit - a great little restaurant and a great experience that we won't soon forget!

Zwischendurch trinkt er kurze mit und schreit „Arriba!“ die Köche kommen mit dem Fisch zum zeigen, ein Gitarrenspieler kommt dazu. Vorspeise Garnelen wurden am Tisch flambiert. Hauptgänge auch mega. Leider mussten wir dann wirklich sehr lange warten auf das Dessert, welches auch nicht so gut war. Eine Eiskugel und ein Stück Donauwelle mit Früchten. Da hatten wir durch die Zeit davor mehr erwartet.

He himself is in the kitchen and everyone was given a large plate with three large fish fillets, a fiery pasta, scampi, seaweed salad, truffle chips, pan-fried vegetables and much more for €30. The plates were about the size of large pizza plates and were really well filled. Even though he is in the kitchen himself, he maintains contact with the guests when he presents his dishes in a spectacular way. His multi-course menu costs €69-79 and we are already looking forward to our next visit to Franco.

This is real experience gastronomy, live music, and and and, the customer is not just king but emperor. Fantastic food, extremely courteous service, and the schnapps in between were also very welcome. Highly recommended, we look forward to the next time 😃

Stumbled across it by chance and it was a really great discovery. No menu but a 3 course menu.

Ein kleines, eher unauffälliges Testaurant im Portugiesenviertel. Wir wären da niemals hingekommen, wenn wir nicht einen Tip bekommen hätten. Und der hat sich gelohnt. Der Chef - Franco - lebt Service. Der Gast ist ihm das Wichtigste. Auch wenn er manchmal etwas "drüber" ist, ist er sehr sympathisch und nett. Dazu hatte er an dem Abend einen Gitarrenspieler und Sänger, der mit guter Musik und seiner extrem witzigen und sympathischen Art die Gäste verzauberte. Die Qualität der Speisen waren exzellent und zwar durch die Bank. Wenn überhaupt kleine Abstriche zu machen sind, dann an den Getränken. Bier und Wein und auch die zwischendurch immer wieder servierten Schnäpse waren gut, Cocktails sind nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen. Das hat dem Abend aber keinen Abbruch getan. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß!

Food was delicious. The menu displayed is not self-explanatory, you get the impression that you have to order a 3 or 4 course menu. The waiter gave us great advice and was very friendly. Although we got 2 meat platters for €35, one would have been enough. It was probably a communication problem. Food was also very well received by our picky children. Highly recommended locally - reasonable price-performance ratio for Hamburg.

Auch bei unserem dritten Besuch wieder ein tolles Erlebnis! Das Essen sehr lecker und reichhaltig, die “Schnäpse” aufs Haus wie immer besonders, netter Service, tolle Stimmung … was will man mehr?

A plate of sea bass, 2 prawns, 1 small piece of tuna with vegetables for €30. The quality was so-so. 1 glass of wine for €7.50. There is no menu to choose from, you should let yourself be surprised. I saw the fish plate in another restaurant a few meters away for €17.50. Conclusion: I was kindly ripped off.

We spent a rushed weekend in Hamburg because of a trade fair and happened upon the “Casa Franco”. Saturday evening, no reservations, packed. Incredibly warm, friendly and as if it were a matter of course, Franco immediately offered us a comfortable table and we agreed to the 4-course surprise. It was rich, varied and really incredibly tasty. Perfectly prepared fish and meat that had already fallen apart on the fork were brought to our table with a smile and a great show (gambas served as a starter). A guitarist also offered live music. The whole atmosphere made us think we were on the Mediterranean. We can only warmly recommend Casa Franco and will definitely come back. We would like to thank Franco and his team for the unforgettable evening and look forward to our next visit. CARAMBA!

The food is undoubtedly great, the ambience is so-so, the singer was good, but the chef's whole show seemed a bit stale. When you then see Franco tearing up his team in front of the guests, the visit somehow leaves a strange aftertaste. At that price we'd rather eat somewhere else next time.

This was our first time at Franco's. Great warmth, top-class food, great restaurant team and passionate entertainment with live music. We are thrilled and will be back.

It was okay, but the price was unjustified. Gambas and the cod was good but not the meat, it also tasted oriental and not Portuguese. There are better (taste and price wise) places to go

If you are in Hamburg you definitely have to go to Casa Franco. Very well prepared food of brilliant quality, plus service that gives the guest a "warm welcome" feeling without being intrusive. The live musician is a mixture of entertainer and comedian has a lot of musical craftsmanship. And of course Franco, who is an absolutely positive, crazy restaurateur, knows how to entertain his guests extremely well. We are often in Hamburg and there will be no way around Casa Franco in the future.

The service is warm and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The food is plentiful and delicious. My meat was a bit tough... but the portions were so generous that I couldn't eat any more.

Everything just fits, highly recommended

A super cozy atmosphere, freshly and deliciously prepared food of a high standard, we had a 4-course menu. Singing performances with guitar offer fun and entertainment. There are two reservation dates: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to... Very nice, friendly and funny staff. We'd love to come back.

Where should I start…… So, luckily I reserved a table because of the recommendations I read everywhere! It started with a personal and very friendly welcome from Franco, you immediately felt comfortable and somehow familiar. What followed can be described without exaggeration as one of the most beautiful, funniest, tastiest and also drunkest evenings we have had in a long time. And of course it was clear that there was no menu, but what was put on the table was eaten! 😊 and that was simply a dream!!! Excellent quality of fish, meat and everything around it, a bombastic atmosphere throughout the entire evening (here again a very special thanks to Ricardo, who provided the perfect live music with his guitar and wonderfully endearing manner) and a host and team that are second to none seek! If you are in Hamburg and want to experience an unforgettable, great and delicious evening, you can't avoid Casa Franco!!!! Thank you for everything!!!

We were looking for a nice fish restaurant for our Hamburg weekend and found this unique, wonderful and imaginative restaurant. The chef served us a mixed fish platter with absolutely fresh ingredients, wonderful, absolutely recommended.
