Beira Rio in Hamburg

The three of us were there for dinner on Friday. We all enjoyed it very much and the service was excellent. We'll definitely come back. Reservation is advisable.

Among other things, super tasty shrimp and a great waiter. Rui is always very friendly and always has a song on her lips despite the restaurant being full. At the end there is usually a schnapps on the house. We always feel like we are on vacation. Keep it up.

Nice place! We were there on a Sunday. Apparently well attended with many regular guests, that speaks for itself. Friendly, personable and funny staff. Small but nice. We would love to come back to taste the delicious homemade schnapps.

The reservation for 10 people went wrong, but they still made it possible for us to be slotted in and have a table with our 9 people. That was a lovely gesture and really very accommodating. Despite all the stress, we received really nice and friendly service on this Saturday evening. The food was very tasty. Simply great and we thank you for that!

It was our first time in this restaurant and certainly not the last time! The service is super friendly, attentive and fast. The food is a real culinary delight. (No. 40) Everything is fresh, the fish is not fried to death and the vegetables taste great. The nightcap from the keg is also very original. Please reserve in advance!!

Lugar ocupado, pero se las arreglaron para servirle con alegría, exactitud y rapidez. Recomiendo que se pidan reservas con antelación. Ese lugar es top! ... volviendo a Hamburgo en enero y seguro que visitaremos el lugar.

Simply an incredibly great restaurant! We went to Beira Rio during our city trip because of the good reviews and enjoyed the best fish we've ever eaten! Every bite was a poem! We didn't have to wait long for our food, even though every table was full. Before eating we were given a baguette with a homemade garlic cream that we would have loved to dig into! So incredibly delicious!! The price-performance ratio was absolutely great! The host was friendly too! Thank you very much for this excellent meal, if we come back to Hamburg we will definitely come back!

It's a shame that you can't give zero stars. I felt sick from the food in the restaurant (vegetarian paella). I threw up in the restaurant. When I asked the waiter about it, he dismissed it and insisted on full price. impudence. I wanted some chamomile tea to calm my stomach. I was given the wrong drink twice before I received my tea. He didn't care about my well-being, on the contrary, he insisted that I come back. Never. Whether it's a lack of hygiene or intolerance. It's a small restaurant. It is advisable to book a table in advance. The food is very tasty and very good. What I personally think is very good, although there is a lot of fish on offer, there is never a smell of fish in the restaurant. The fish is always very fresh. Even when the fish plate is served there is no pungent smell of fish. Highly recommended.

Authentic little restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Very tasty food made from fresh ingredients and the quality is on a par with the cuisine in Portugal. Open and friendly employees. Fair prices. Unfortunately there is hardly any vegetarian offering, it would be nice here, for example. B. a plant-based protein source (beans, legumes) as an alternative to the wide range of meat and fish - Portuguese cuisine definitely has one or two dishes to offer 😉

Very dignified restaurant, good food and really great service

We went there specifically because of the high rating. Ambience more chilled than Portuguese. The service attentive and quick. I had a pot of calamari and shrimp that was excellent. Unfortunately, the other two main courses, shrimp with redfish and shrimp with vegetables, were completely wrong. Shrimp completely dry because it was broken and grilled and everything was completely over salted! Ok, we were asked if everything was OK during the meal... but in the end a lot was left lying around and no questions were asked. I then waive the explanation. Price performance would have been OK without the dropouts, a shame

The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. The hosts Rui and Melanie are super warm and just spread a good mood. You feel welcome and, despite the restaurant being full, there is always time for a quick chat. We will definitely visit this restaurant again when we are in Hamburg! Simply perfect hosts and super delicious food.

Ganz spontan haben wir uns für das Beira Rio entschieden und Glück gehabt einen Tisch für vier Personen zu bekommen, da es ziemlich gut besucht ist. Nach unserem Besuch völlig nachvollziehbar! Angefangen von der liebenswürdigen, lustigen, sehr freundlichen und kundenorientierten Bedienung, über das sehr gute Essen, und dem angenehm modernen Ambiente. Kurz wir wurden wie sehr erwünschte Gäste behandelt und haben uns daher super wohl gefühlt. Wer also portogiesische frische Küche mag, ist hier absolut richtig! Wir kommen wieder!

Very tasty and reasonably priced restaurant. There were five of us and we had a paella for 2, a fish platter for 2 and a fish platter for one and we all got very full. Luckily we got a seat here on a Saturday around 6pm without a reservation, which we were very happy about in the area. Nice staff, prices are completely justified for the quality of the food. Gladly again!

The bread and the scampis in garlic oil are the highlight.

The service here is first class and very attentive. Unfortunately the food is just okay. The calamari had a great bite, but was unfortunately very greasy and apparently hadn't been blotted off. The breading was not well thought out, the taste was boring. The fries without crunch, not hot. Unfortunately, the lamb fillet was completely cooked through, almost dead, with great meat quality. The lamb sauce tasted perfectly again. The aioli, on the other hand, is a dream, I've rarely had one this good. The bread served with it was super fresh and tasty.

Beira Rio restaurant is very easy to find. You can take the U3 to Landungsbrücken and get off there. After leaving the subway station, it's only about a 2-minute walk. The service in the restaurant is super warm, the owner is very talkative and humorous. We felt the hospitable atmosphere of Portugal. It is generally known that Hamburg, as a famous port city, is home to numerous fish restaurants. However, I strongly recommend Beira Rio. In terms of quality, price and service, this is so far the best fish restaurant I have experienced in Germany. Obrigado!
