Simply relaxed and delicious, cooked fish as a platter with three types of fish, mussels, fish soup, delicious wine and you have a perfect dinner!

Highly recommended. The food is great, the service even better, and the atmosphere is cozy.

Unfortunately the fish is always grilled dead. This makes it dry. Sepia was delicious. Tapas plates were all cold and therefore not all tasty. Ambiance was good.

Fünf von fünf Gerichten haben absolut nach gar nichts geschmeckt. Auch mit Pfeffer und Salz war da nichts rauszuholen. Für den Salat gab es Olivenöl und billigen Weißweinessig, der Schwertfisch zum Salat war trocken. Die Tomatensuppe als Vorspeise schmeckte wie Tütensuppe, einzig die Fischsuppe als Vorspeise war wirklich gut. Schade um den Abend und das Geld.

First, the tapas plate was already richly delicious! Then, on to the main course; If you like Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean fish like sea bream, you should try it here at Restaurante Porto. I myself tried the Mediterranean sea bream in beautiful Hamburg... I closed my eyes for a moment and had to admit: "Incredibly delicious" without any additional seasoning, just like at the sea! "Peaked to perfection, with a bit of vegetables and hot potatoes, simply delicious" - big compliments to the kitchen! 5 out of 5 stars and a bonus point for the overall package. Best regards 🤓

We have been coming to the restaurant every time Internorga is there for over 20 years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food decreases from year to year. Gambas made according to the house style, vegetables that taste of nothing but oil, a little sauce, a pile of rice, that was done much better. My wife had vegetable soup, what was served was bean broth. That was nothing.

Teníamos una botella de vino absolutamente excepcional, las gambas, pulpo, y yo tenía la sopa de pescado. No exagero cuando te digo que es una de las mejores comidas que he tenido en mi vida. Volvería sólo por la mantequilla que sirven con el pan. No solo era la comida excepcionalmente excelente, pero tuvimos la oportunidad de charlar con el personal, y eran serviciales, amables, amables y encantadores de conocer. What a gem! A friend and I came across Porto by chance. They were fully booked for dinner, but were able to seat us at the bar in the early afternoon. We had a bottle of absolutely outstanding wine, the prawns, octopus, and I had the fish soup. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it is one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. I'd go back just for the butter that they serve with the bread. Not only was the food exceptionally excellent, but we had a chance to chat with the staff, and they were helpful, kind, friendly, and lovely to know. I could not recommend this restaurant more forcefully. Please do yourself the favor, and enjoy the delight that is Porto in Hamburg. (Thanks for having us! -Ashley and Katie)

Abends Essen gehen mit zwei Kinder ist nicht immer leicht. Die Plätze werden besetzt aber der Umsatz ist nicht der gleiche. Im Porto waren wir ohne Reservierung am Wochenende und wurden wärmsten empfangen und versorgt. Alle waren sehr herzlich zu uns. Und das Essen war sehr lecker.

Schöner Abend. Gutes Essen. Excelente Weinkarte. Weinflaschen auch zum günstigeren Außerhaus-Preis erhältlich. Aufmerksamer Service. Preisleistung top. Gerne wieder

If you want to eat good Portuguese food, you should come here. Fresh food, very well prepared. Nice staff and a nice atmosphere with Fado music in the background. What I didn't know before was that the room next to it, “Nau”, also belongs to the restaurant. I find the atmosphere there more comfortable.

We were here for the second time and had lunch. It was again very tasty and rich. Many dishes are offered, including daily specials.

Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, das war es dann allerdings auch an guter Bewertung. Da ich schon vor Jahrzehnten gerne im Portugiesenviertel essen gegangen bin und gerade dieses Restaurant damals eines der besten war, waren eine Freundin und ich - meinerseits aus nostalgischen Gründen - mal wieder dort. Ich bestellte zusätzlich zu meinem Kaninchengericht etwas Gemüse. Es kam dann das Kaninchen im Topf und „anstatt“ der Kartoffeln bekam ich das Gemüse. Die Sauce in der das Kaninchen schwamm, habe ich somit mit dem wirklich leckeren Brot aufgenommen. Das Kaninchen und auch das Gemüse waren geschmacklich ziemlich fad. Zudem bestanden die Fleischstücke bis auf eins von Vier fast nur aus Knochen und das Gemüse hatte keinerlei Würze und war fast roh. Der Flan zum Nachtisch war kalt, wurde mit Tubensahne serviert und schmeckte auch eher wie vom Discounter. Er hatte auch nicht wie sonst die typische Flanform sonder als Quadrat zurecht geschnitten und war viel zu kalt. Die Weine und der Espresso waren OK. Für einen Preis von 40€, für mein Gericht mit Wein, war ich sehr enttäuscht und werde weder aus nostalgischen noch aus anderen Gründen dieses Restaurant nochmal besuchen. Ach ja, das Essen meiner Freundin war auch eher geschmacksneutral. Sie hatte Schweinefilet in Pfeffersauce wobei die Filets viel zu stark durchgebraten waren.

It is a relatively small, cozy Portuguese restaurant with food à la cart (menu with prices available on the homepage) in the so-called Portuguese Quarter. We were able to make a reservation for Thursday evening on the same day by telephone (inquiries can also be made online via the homepage). However, a reservation is also recommended. The food was very tasty and the portion size was okay (for the price quoted), but not for those who are slightly hungry.

Very tasty fish. New Year's Eve menu was super delicious - only the meat dish couldn't keep up.

I ate a menu there on New Year's Eve and was very positively surprised. The courses were consistently delicious and everyone was more than full at the end. There was also good rosé wine (selection available) and a rosé sparkling wine at midnight. The service was friendly, fast, courteous and professional (including warmed plates). A relaxing evening of pampering in the middle of Hamburg - great, thank you very much!

I was really looking forward to it. Beef fillet for 36.90 euros was NOT soft and tender, not hot and tasty. The starter and main course came almost at the same time. Too bad. Service good and friendly.

Since there are a number of comparable restaurants in the Portuguese Quarter, I can't go beyond 3 stars. The food is delicious, no question. The portions quite small. The prices are too high in my opinion. The atmosphere is not bad, but extremely loud. All in all, ok to good, but no more. PS.: had prawns a la chef

We had a Christmas party, a very nice restaurant, we had made a reservation for 5 p.m., but at 7:45 p.m. we were told we had to leave the restaurant at 8 p.m. We weren't told beforehand that we had a time slot, which we found very unfortunate.

Very tasty food and great service. We had a mixed meat platter and a mixed fish platter. Unfortunately there were some bones in my fish platter, but otherwise the taste was very, very tasty.

We arrived around 7:45 p.m. and waited outside until the other guests cleared the field. It was a flying change which should certainly be a good sign. We had octopus and I had rump steak. Unfortunately my steak was cold and not cooked correctly. The staff was so busy running that I didn't report it. Of course that wasn't right of me, but when I told the staff about it in a friendly manner at the end, all they said was: Yes, why don't you say anything? Well, it's a shame or something like that. No concession, just a grumpy answer. Great location, but it really wasn't any special service or an outstanding experience. I'm annoyed that I didn't say anything for now, but the reaction more than ruined my evening.

Very friendly service. The waiter specifically seated us at a table with a power socket when he noticed that my cell phone was empty. The food was really, really good. Be sure to try the veal cheeks, they melt in your mouth. Thank you again for the great evening. 5 deserved stars :)

Ein schlimmes Erlebnis! Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Menü bestellt, was eine absolute Katastrophe war. Bis auf die Vorspeise ( Ziegenkäse) und das Baguettebrot war alles ungenießbar. Spaghetti viel zu weich und ungewürzt, das untergehobene Gemüse total matschig und ungewürzt.. Der Nachtisch, Griessflan, war geschmacklos, kalt, und mit Sprühsahne garniert. Alles stehengelassen. Mein Mann hatte Kalbsbäckchen mit Süsskartoffelpüree. . Das Püree war ebenfalls geschmacklos und wässerig. Unser Freund hatte das gleiche Essen bestellt. Das Ergebnis war : beide saßen die ganze Nacht auf Toilette mit Durchfall (allerdings nicht gemeinsam 😛) Porto nie wieder !!! Nicht zu empfehlen.

I can't understand the good reviews. The food is just bad. Spaghetti was overcooked, the sauce definitely didn't deserve the name. It was water with a bit of dye. The service is so unfriendly and just incredibly bad. Waiting times for the starter, main course and dessert were 85 minutes. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant as I was with this one

I think they weren't interested in regular customers

I am very disappointed. The price was top (high priced), but in terms of taste everything was missing except salt. No Portuguese sophistication in the kitchen, I would have expected. Next time again in the Praca de Coimbra, opposite.

We had made a reservation in Porto because we had visitors from out of town. We were then taken to the neighboring restaurant. So far ok... The gentleman who served us was so friendly. A meal was initially forgotten. He apologized. The hammer came at the end. We had ordered another bottle of water and were waiting for our dessert. Then the other waiter came and said we had another 10 minutes before the table would be reserved again. This was the first time that we were informed about a time slot. The bill was simply slapped on the table. When asked to pay individually, the response was totally annoyed. Some of us only had a map with us. We then noted that things weren't going so ideally. The only message that came up was isso. Conclusion: the food was good, but not exceptional and tourist prices. The service and the way we were treated was a perfect 6. The restaurant won't see me again.

Aufgrund der Empfehlung auf der Homepage "Mit Vergnügen" besuchten wir (Paar 64 und 62) am Reformationstag 2024 zum Mittagessen das Restaurant "Porto" im portugiesischen Viertel in Hamburg. Von "gemütlich speisen im Familienbetrieb" konnte keine Rede sein. Und das kam so: schon allein die Einrichtung hatte rein gar nichts mit Portugal zu tun und erinnerte an eine aufgehübschte deutsche Kneipe mit den üblichen Raumteilern. Die Gäste hatten sich dem Ambiente angepasst und die Mehrheit war äusserst bieder gekleidet (die Männer z. B. Pullover über dem Hemd). Die ausschließlich männliche Bedienung hatte merkwürdigerweise überwiegend Polysterwesten an, obwohl es sehr warm im Gastraum war. In jeden einigermaßen niveauvollen Restaurant erwarte ich eine dem Gast gegenüber respektvolle Kleidung der Servicekräfte. Die Bestellung wurde zwar zügig aufgenommen, aber wir mussten 3 x an die Flasche Wasser und zwischendurch an neues Besteck erinnern, da dieses mit den Vorspeisentellern abgeräumt wurde. Das Essen liess dann sca. 30 Minuten auf sich warten. Gäste die nach uns gekommen waren, wurden schneller bewirtet. Dabei hatten wir nur eine Vorspeisenplatte und als Hauptgang Stockfisch und Gambas bestellt. Das Essen das dann kam, war eines (portugiesischen) Restaurants absolut unwürdig: Der Vorspeisenteller bestand aus 2 x kalten Scampis, 2 x kleinen gebratenen Sardinen, 1 x frittiertes Stockfischbällchen, 1 x Shrimpstasche, 2 x frittierte Calamares, 2 x Scheiben Schinken, 2 x Scheiben Käse, 2 x Schreiben Chouriçowurst und drei Azeitonas Oliven sowie Salatdeko. Die Gambas in Knoblauch-Tomatensauce mit Reis und Gemüse waren praktisch ungewürzt; von Knoblauch und frischen Gewürzen keine Spur. Die Tomatensauce sah aus wie an anderen Tischen; also offenbar eine Einheitssauce. Der Stockfisch war ungeniessbar, da voller Gräten und war mit Gewürzgurkenstücken und mehr als bissfesten Möhrenstückchen garniert. Die Grundsosse der Zwiebelsosse war offenbar die o. g. Grundsosse. Auch hier waren keinerlei Gewürze herauszuschmecken. Die Krönung bei diesem Gericht waren die um den Stockfisch herum aufgereihten Karfoffelscheiben, welche, da sie zur Hälfte in der Sosse standen, zur Hälfte matschig waren. Von einem Geschmackserlebnis mit typischen portugiesischen Gewürzen war bei allen bestellten Gerichten nicht ein einziger Hauch zu sehen bzw. zu schmecken. Ich kann nicht glauben, dass das authentische portugiesische Küche sein soll! Leider war der Servicekraft, welche die noch fast vollenTeller abräumte, unsere Kritik egal, da nur ein Achselzucken wert. Das Angebot "etwas aufs Haus" haben wir selbstverständlich abgelehnt, ebenso haben wir auf den von uns sonst überlicherweise immer bestellten Nachtisch, Kaffee/Espresso und Brandy verzichtet. Wir wollten nur so schnell wie möglich aus diesem furchtbaren Erlebnis heraus. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass wir - obwohl wir, wenn es denn gerechtfertigt ist, immer großzügig sind - aufgrund des schlechten Service und insbesondere des katastrophalen Essens KEIN Trinkgeld gegeben haben. Von portugiesischen Essen habe wir jedenfalls erst einmal genug. Fazit: Mit Portugal hat weder die Einrichtung des "Porto", noch das Essen etwas zu tun. Das Essen war lieblos u. geschmacklich leider richtig schlecht. Ebenso miserabel war der Service. "Porto" ? NEIN DANKE!

The restaurant doesn't have a real kitchen, everything is frozen food that is thawed in the sink and placed on the contact grill. The chicken meat wasn't cooked through and was then put on it again, which is why it was extremely dry. The prawns were also black in some places, the consistency was watery and the smell was fishy. The staff suddenly became very unfriendly when we didn't want to pay for the prawns and accused us of ordering too much and not finishing it. Since we were still hungry afterwards, we ate something else in the hotel room. The diarrhea the morning after and the uneasy feeling that lasted until lunchtime were certainly not caused by the supermarket food from the hotel room but probably by the poor quality of the food in this restaurant. But the prices are decent, and since everything is just frozen goods that are served in a jiffy, the store must be a real money printing machine. In addition, the food just wasn't really Portuguese and the staff didn't seem to understand Portuguese either.

This restaurant actually got pretty decent reviews, so we gave it a try. Good and fast service, but unfortunately just average food.

I don't understand the good reviews. We were very disappointed, initially by the negligent service, which came across as a bit grumpy, never asked questions and was not available to take any further drink orders. But the food was the biggest disappointment. Sauces were not very seasoned, monkfish seemed like it had been fried twice and was completely unseasoned, prawns were floury. The veal cheeks are not braised until soft. The salad has no dressing at all. We won't be coming back.

It's a restaurant located in the Portuguese neighborhood in the city of Hamburg, it has a very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, a very clean place, the bathrooms were spotless, something that is sometimes difficult to find in a restaurant. We were served very well and quickly. The food was very tasty, but a little salty but it is healthier that way. I will be back and I recommend visiting.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. We ordered two tapas starter plates, followed by a salad, prawns, fish and tuna with pepper sauce. The tapa plate came quite quickly, but was neither convincing in terms of taste nor appearance (the salad in the middle looked wilted). After the starter we were obviously forgotten. After almost an hour it was noticed with the sentence “Your food is coming”. Unfortunately we had concert tickets and so hardly any time left. I followed up and said we wanted to cancel and could come back afterwards. This was denied, the food was already on the grill, which - as it turned out - couldn't be right. So we waited another 15 minutes, then the main course finally came. The taste wasn't particularly great (with the prawns in garlic-white wine sauce, you couldn't taste either wine or garlic). The 30€ tuna steak was only grilled on the surface, completely raw inside, and there was ham in the salad, which - according to our guests - was not on the menu. I can understand that things can sometimes be chaotic when things are busy. But then having a waiter in a bad mood who makes you feel guilty because you've been forgotten is just unpleasant. He saw that the tuna was raw, apologized - and added it to the bill. That doesn't work at all. The atmosphere was also rather dingy. We've eaten in the area several times, but we definitely won't be seen in Porto again.

The food was expensive. The quality is ok, but could be better for the price. The staff was unmotivated.

Unfortunately my food was served just slightly above room temperature. The salad, which was served as a starter, had neither vinegar nor oil nor any spices. Vinegar and oil were only delivered upon request. The prices are at a high level, so appropriate service is expected, but this is completely neglected here. After almost 2 hours, we were forced to pay with, "I need the table in 10 minutes." With 4 people and well over 200 euros in sales, a no go.

Went on a Friday evening, was busy so make sure that you book in advance. There is a Winter Garden , similar to a conservatory at fhe back, which is great for parties and functions. Great selection of Portuguese food and drinks. We ordered Superbok, Portuguese beer and also Portuguese wine.

Not Bad the Food- Service was a bit slowly and you also get pushed out the Restaurant as others are waiting. Has a taste of Tourist Trapp. Definitely not again. 3 stars by far earned only due to the kitchen and taste. Has a bit the taste like Abzocke…

One of the many good restaurants in Hamburg. There isn't much to complain about either the food or the service. It's not the pinnacle of culinary art, but it's ideal for a nice evening with good food. I would definitely go there again.

We were shown to seats on the terrace, but there were many smokers, so it would be better to ask for seats indoors. Also, the ground of the terrace seats is slanted, making it difficult to eat. The food is delicious and the customer service is good, so it's a great memory of your trip.

You can eat inside or at a table on the sidewalk. Favorite street with many Portuguese restaurants. We chose various tapas and they tasted great. We sat along the street, and it's fun to people watch and enjoy the scenery.

My daughter and I went to Hamburg for a long weekend. We love this city and especially the Portuguese quarter. However, this is our first time at Restaurante Porto Went for dinner. We were served very nicely, especially noticeably, The restaurant manager didn't need to write anything down and had an incredible memory. My squid was buttery tender and my daughter couldn't believe I finished my plate. She had eaten shrimp and was really excited about it too. We want to go back to Hamburg next year and will definitely go there again to eat.
