Super delicious and authentic cuisine. The service was friendly and very child-friendly!

As always, great food, great service, and, even after the renovation, cozy. The ambiance used to be cozier, but now it's more clean, tidy, and structured...but still cozy.

We had the seafood platter with mussels, squid, and scampi. It was delicious, and they even included a liter of drinkable wine. The place has a nice and friendly atmosphere, and on a Friday night, it was packed. We really enjoyed it there.

The food at La Sepia is always really good. It tastes fantastic. The staff is friendly and not overly intrusive, yet always there when you need something.

The three of us ate here on a Friday evening. The dishes on the menu sounded promising, and we weren't disappointed. The bread with aioli was also great. We'd be happy to come back.

Delicious Portuguese fish restaurant in Hamburg with a great atmosphere and an open kitchen. My girlfriend really wanted to go to a fish restaurant, so we chose La Sepia. The menu itself only offers fish dishes; according to the website, they also offer meat, but that's probably only on request. We opted for an appetizer, salt cod balls, and two main courses: a grilled fish platter with salmon, zander, redfish, cuttlefish, squid, and prawns, and a salmon fillet on an orange-ginger glaze with prawns. As a side dish, we also received fresh white bread with a garlic dip. The dip was very garlicky but delicious. The appetizer was also good, slightly unspectacular but still tasty. It was served on a bed of iceberg lettuce with balsamic vinegar and a French dressing dip (we think). The main courses themselves were very tasty. Both I and my girlfriend enjoyed them very much. The salmon was beautifully seared with a slightly crispy salt crust. The grill was also beautifully presented. All in all, it was a pleasant evening for two with delicious food. Update from 2023: Still very good. Both in terms of the food and the service/hospitality. Plus, the steak was perfect. So, it's also recommended for people who don't necessarily like fish. Update from 2024: Still great. This time, the piri-piri chicken was amazing.

AWFUL MUSIC. We've been here every time we visit Hamburg for many years. Frequently recommended. Perfect food, authentic ambiance, friendly staff. Special needs such as wheelchair access are taken into account when making reservations. But this time: terrible, monotonous, buff——tabuffta——buff——tabuffta Latino pop music at excessive volume. Our friendly warning (despite all the other praise) was laughed off and ignored. Too bad: we'll have to find another favorite restaurant.

I recently visited the La Sepia restaurant in Hamburg and had a mixed experience. The food was good overall, but the service quality left a lot to be desired. The pasta was delicious and the asking price was reasonable. The appetizer was also good, but there was a problem with the billing. It was stated in small letters on the menu that the price was per person. The biggest problem, however, was the long wait for repeat orders. We had to wait a very long time for our orders to be taken, and then even longer for the food to arrive. When we finally got the bill, there were many errors. In addition to the "double" billing for the appetizer, there were other discrepancies. I hope the restaurant learns from its mistakes and improves its service. Maybe I'll give it another chance, but for now, I'm a bit disappointed.

The restaurant is very authentic; all the waiters speak Portuguese. The food was fantastic, with delicious fish fillets and seafood, as well as octopus, which was wonderfully tender, just like you'd eat in Portugal. There was also sangria and port tonic.

We stopped at this very inviting restaurant while strolling through Hamburg. We happened to be looking for a fish restaurant, and the large aquariums inside the restaurant made us realize we'd hit the jackpot. Our order was taken promptly, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The food was beautifully presented, tasted impeccable, and, in our opinion, of high quality. There was nothing to complain about here, and even I, a "doesn't have to be fish" eater, was extremely satisfied!

You get a total vacation feeling... One of the best restaurants where you can eat fish in Hamburg.

For us the best fish restaurant ever. All dishes are freshly prepared and taste great. From the boss to the waitress, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Of course also a big compliment to the kitchen. Unfortunately we don't live here in Hamburg but when we are in the city we go to La Sepia every evening. You are mega and unbeatable. Keep it up.

We went to La Sepia at Neuer Pferdemarkt with our family and opted for the seafood platter for three people – an excellent choice! The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, especially the calamari, which was pleasantly tender and not chewy like you sometimes experience. The service was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. You quickly realize that this is a family business – the atmosphere is warm and personal. The ambiance is a successful blend of classic Portuguese style with a slight Schanzen flair due to the location. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening – we'd love to come back!

We felt very comfortable, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. The service was friendly, although we sometimes had to wait a bit longer, for example, for our first drinks. We enjoyed the food. The draft vinho verde was excellent. Prices are a bit on the higher side.

We've been coming here for years to eat whenever we visit Hamburg. It's always very good and delicious. During the week, it's not as busy, so you can sometimes go without a reservation. On weekends, you should always order, and unfortunately, it gets very loud.

I just had breakfast at La Sepia for the first time. Excellent service. Really friendly, even with special requests! The kids really enjoyed it, too. The food was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly delicious! The portions were just right, too. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to have breakfast in the trendy Schanze district.

The rice wasn't properly cooked. Some menu items were a bit bland. One octopus was cooked perfectly and the other one wasn't. A bit all over the place.

Hello, We went to your restaurant last Saturday. This was not the first time. To be honest, the food was great. But I must tell you that one thing really bothered us. We felt under pressure and stress. Our reservation was at 5:30 p.m. and our food arrived at 6:00 p.m. We had a great meal. Then after the meal we ordered our second drink (then your staff told us at around 7:30 p.m. we only had 15 minutes and then we had to leave) because there was a time limit. When we knew, we couldn't order again. That bothered us a lot, then we had to drink very quickly because there wasn't time. We had already shared our opinion with your staff but they were not very nice and unfriendly. I generally think the restaurant is good but in this situation I am not giving entirely positive reviews.

We went for lunch today and were delighted. Free choice of dishes starting at €11. For a little less than a month, they had a fish stew that was delicious!

I had a business meeting at your restaurant today. They charged us €233 for a mixed platter, appetizer, and four drinks for two people. The mixed platter, which normally costs €85, was doubled, so they deducted €85. We'll be back, don't worry. We have a photo and receipt.

A true classic for years, with a fantastic selection of seafood. The mussel pan is fantastic, and the other dishes are always delicious and a good size—you'll be more than satisfied. It's also a great place to stop while visiting Hamburg.

Absolutely fantastic, I wanted to extend my vacation and will definitely drive 87 km to eat there again. I've read some complainers, did you really go to La Sepia Hamburg? The only thing I would complain about was the wait... until I saw the platter. And the salmon, salmon sounds good, but it really spoils the overall experience... If you were satisfied, don't forget to tip, even with your debit card. ;-)

Bad service. It took 60 minutes to get our mustles (and half of the table had already been served). The waiter has not apologized ("yes I know"), and started to be mean when we declined to tip because of that. Don't go.

Ein guter Tipp für einen netten unkomplizierten Restaurantbesuch mit fairem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
