Nice Mexican atmosphere but the food was disappointing. The bowls seemed bland: bland rice, few black beans and meat, cheap ready-made salad. Overall, unfortunately not a place we would visit again.

Been here a few times and have always tried to give the place a chance food wise as my family find this restaurant good. The conceptual thought at this location feels to be more the attraction to something unusual rather than different ie along the lines of an individuals interpretation rather than originality. I‘m not going to slam the place too hard as I am, as I see, from the other reviews made, a minority, however… a smidgen of authenticity regarding flavours would be welcome! Shame really as speaking from first hand experience in Mexico of the amazing firework of awesome flavours featured in the cuisine that is more than on par with the other countries kitchens who pair off a myriad of freshness, consistencies, herbs and spices. The injustice continues with the Bourdain homage BS falling somewhat flat, as too the promise made on the menu compared to what comes actually plated out of the kitchen, the faux journey starting already with the complimentary basket of nachos con supermarket and its accompanying curious salsa. Introducing the insects onto the menu is a good gag but how about putting some of the rightful flair into the standing bill of fare? After all, the german taste profile has come a long way since the early 90s, kinda insulting really to hold so much back, its really is not so risky anymore ie the danger of alienating the punters for coriander, oregano cumin, epazote, smoked Chili & Co.

Clocky, cozy, small BUT the food is incredibly tasty, the service is impressive (some other restaurants can really copy it). The menu is small but very, very good. As are the cocktails! I haven't experienced anything so friendly, approachable and attentive in a long time. 🤩 It was a real pleasure to have been your guest and I will definitely be back.

Four stars too many, three too few. Nice restaurant, super nice and attentive service. Cocktails OK. Burrito disappointed me a bit. Great filling but the tortilla was toasted to death. Very dry matter. And nice children's play corner. So more like four stars ;)

First table, by the window, was too small to sit on. You could see it straight away. Variable walls pushed too tight. Moving wasn't a big deal. The large starter €24 is not recommended. Way too overpriced, fries and nachos as a starter, well... main course was good. Only the chicken wings were in the deep fryer for too long.

I really enjoyed it! The service was absolutely top-notch. We also enjoyed the food tremendously, and the ambiance was absolutely lovely. A wonderful evening, we'll be back 🙂

The 3D mini golf course was great. We had a lot of fun. The staff were friendly and the price was absolutely ok. The history of the paper factory was addressed well and discreetly. Overall a nice atmosphere.

We ordered two tacos that were actually very tasty, unfortunately both were not gratinated with cheese as it says in the description and the nachos didn't come with a salsa dip... You can get over that but unfortunately it happens almost every time when you order and for €3 I can also buy nachos at Edeka.

There was too little in my last order, and you didn't acknowledge it, claiming that everything is weighed the same with a spoon, but even a blind person can see the stark difference in how little is in this portion. I should complain by email and send a photo, but photos aren't accepted.

Surprise across the board. I'm usually very critical when it comes to bar food - especially in places where the focus seems to be more on the cocktails than the cuisine. You often get mediocre meat, carelessly prepared plates and the feeling that the food is only intended to accompany the drink. When it came to tacos in Essen, I was initially skeptical – and then more than pleasantly surprised. The food here is not just a nice side dish, but is clearly on a par with the drinks - if not above them. The quality of the food honestly blew me away. From the main course to the dessert, everything is just right here: taste, presentation and ingredients. I wouldn't have expected this in a cocktail-focused shop. And that's exactly why Tacos has now become my first choice - be it for a relaxed dinner date or a nice evening with friends or family. A real recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food in a stylish atmosphere.
