Mexican Restaurant in Viersen

The concept is good and fun, but our fries were way too salty! The burger: sorry, but why not homemade patties? My ribs had a strong porky taste, which the chef might not be responsible for, but the preparation was. Very, very dry. For starters, we had goat cheese, which was very good, and the aioli for €3.80 was also excellent. Maybe we just had bad luck with our choices, but €60 and unfortunately, we weren't even full.

The place looks dingy and very run-down. Everything has a dilapidated feel, making you feel uncomfortable from the start. The chairs are hard and lack cushions, and the decor only adds to the unpleasant atmosphere. I found it particularly bothersome how cold the entire restaurant was – especially the restrooms. The menu is also poorly laid out, requiring some effort to navigate. The food was okay, but definitely nothing special. The music was intermittently distracting, sometimes too loud, sometimes too quiet. I'm certain of one thing: that was my first and last time there. It's absolutely impossible to feel comfortable there.

The food was good, but unfortunately a bit cold. There were four of us. Two of us ordered burgers. One was beautifully presented on a plate, the other was wrapped in newspaper! Why? And being given paper towels instead of napkins was a bit odd. What bothered me a little was that when I asked to have the skewer without sauce, they told me the sauce couldn't be omitted, even though it's just poured over the top. Surely it wouldn't have been difficult to simply leave it out?! By the way, it was very cold in the restaurant, especially in the restrooms. But the service was very nice, attentive, and friendly!

A healing place...the food, the unique cocktails, the delicious tiramisu dessert, the atmosphere and the immersion in the distinctive Mexican world make the Mexican a very special place.

It's truly like being in Mexico. The food is delicious, the mezcal and Mexican spirits section is incredible. And the best tacos aren't in Mexico; they're in Viersen.

The food there was okay; we were there on the all-you-can-eat spare ribs day the Wednesday before last. Unfortunately, they weren't as juicy or tasty as I remembered. The service was okay and checked regularly to see if anything was missing. However, it was also very empty that day.

About two years after my first visit, I'd like to say: There's really nothing like the Mexican anymore. Special cocktail creations with names like LSD or Ayauasca, food rich in protein and flavor, and clear rules from a charismatic owner. It's a pleasure to be a guest, and even if you're not in a good mood, you'll leave feeling full and happy. This is a unique place. Thank you!

The food was okay; we each had a burrito. It was just a regular size, even though the menu suggested a larger one (Death by Burrito). The taste was 3 out of 5 stars; nothing special, but nothing bad either. The drinks were a nice size, but they also come at a price, especially for homemade drinks.

Our favorite restaurant in Viersen. They also offer buffet delivery for parties: We used them for a family celebration and were extremely satisfied! The quantity was plentiful, the food was delicious, and everything was homemade. We'd be happy to go back!

Decent place and nice food, has a good variety to offer in the menu. Also has different offers during different days of the week, like all you can eat steaks/ gambas. Prices are slightly on higher side, considering the portion size as well. Atmosphere is also decent, so is the staff. Although they might charge you extra for packing the food, which is absurd.

We were there for the first time today. The restaurant is super authentic and the food is truly a 10/10. The service was also courteous and quick, but not intrusive. We'd love to come back.

We were there for the first time. The whole place has this edgy image, this "we're shooting against everything and everyone: vegetarians, minors, food intolerances, kebabs, etc., etc. Above all, that's unnecessary. The food is truly above average, and the cocktails are also really great. Honestly, we've lived practically across the street for a few years now, and all this fuss has put us off going in there for a really long time. Which is a shame, because I repeat, the food is really great! We'll be back.

I've been eating at this restaurant occasionally for many years and have never been disappointed. Excellent food, friendly service.

Super great atmosphere. The service is very friendly and tries to fulfill your every wish. The food was really delicious and I can recommend it to everyone. The dishes weren't too spicy but still flavorful. You can also recommend the cocktails here without a guilty conscience. It was a not so busy day so we got our food quickly. But since everything is freshly prepared, I can only recommend taking time and patience. Unfortunately the kitchen is a bit understaffed. If you want good food, you should take the time!

Well, what is promised according to the menu and website is unfortunately not what reality reflects. Unfortunately, the food was lukewarm at best, the burgers, I'm at a loss for words, the ribs were somewhat okay, but as I said, everything was almost cold and didn't taste particularly good, it had nothing to do with Mexican. Only the burrito was warm and had something Mexican about it. The thing that had most to do with Mexican cuisine or Mexican food were the nachos. All in all, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all. In Viersen and other cities I've gotten much less money for better things.

Been here a few times and have always tried to give the place a chance food wise as my family find this restaurant good. The conceptual thought at this location feels to be more the attraction to something unusual rather than different ie along the lines of an individuals interpretation rather than originality. I‘m not going to slam the place too hard as I am, as I see, from the other reviews made, a minority, however… a smidgen of authenticity regarding flavours would be welcome! Shame really as speaking from first hand experience in Mexico of the amazing firework of awesome flavours featured in the cuisine that is more than on par with the other countries kitchens who pair off a myriad of freshness, consistencies, herbs and spices. The injustice continues with the Bourdain homage BS falling somewhat flat, as too the promise made on the menu compared to what comes actually plated out of the kitchen, the faux journey starting already with the complimentary basket of nachos con supermarket and its accompanying curious salsa. Introducing the insects onto the menu is a good gag but how about putting some of the rightful flair into the standing bill of fare? After all, the german taste profile has come a long way since the early 90s, kinda insulting really to hold so much back, its really is not so risky anymore ie the danger of alienating the punters for coriander, oregano cumin, epazote, smoked Chili & Co.

We celebrated a birthday with a nice group! It's a shame that the waitress didn't respond to questions about the food or requests (leaving something out even though you were aware that you had to pay for it)! And when I asked what was in the dish, she didn't say anything) which was absolutely cheeky, that she asked for sour cream (which wasn't part of the dish), the answer was that she would come back straight away and if something was missing, she would bring it... and then when the person sitting next to me at the table asked for it, she then rudely put the sour cream in front of my nose... Sorry, but we were friendly, please, since we were friendly... It's a good thing that the birthday child didn't notice that she had invited her...

We actually had a nice evening. Unfortunately the service is very inflexible When ordering, this was pointed out and asked what vegetables were in the tortilla. No information could be given. Jalapengos are not a gempse in Germany. We also had the request for the spicy dip Omit from the tortillas Oh sound, that doesn't work, the dip is part of it. Nice restaurant, good food, friendly service

For my first visit to a Mexican restaurant, I was very surprised to experience what felt like a little piece of Mexico in the middle of Viersen. Everything was right for us, from the ambience to the food, we were completely satisfied. Even though we were sitting next to the door and it was very cool for Valentine's Day, we weren't even cold. Before the main course there were homemade tortilla chips with a spicy salsa (I think homemade too) and they tasted very good, even though I can't tolerate anything too spicy myself. The main course was very good for all of us as we each had something different. Of course my meat was no longer hot, but that was because the garlic sauce was added over it. I did briefly feel the temperature on the skewer itself, which is why you knew it was fresh from the grill and a skewer like this also has a few roasted aromas, especially from the grill, which made the whole thing super tasty. As a tip for those who want their meat served very hot, you can definitely have the sauce served separately. My wife also really enjoyed her Tequila Lime Chicken Fajita, which was also very tasty and even a very decent portion. I don't even need to start with the waitresses, they were all super nice, friendly and accommodating (you're happy to leave an extra euro or two for a tip). Last but not least, the sanitary facilities were completely okay, were clean and yes, it was a bit fresher, but that was because the window was tilted. All in all, we'll be happy to come back if time permits.

Stopped in late and relatively spontaneously this evening and, as always, was not disappointed. The food was fresh, tasty and authentic, the service was courteous and very friendly. Even my friend didn't regret his almost 100km journey.

We were there with 4 people during the week. The atmosphere is small but creatively designed. However, we had a seat at the door, so we were completely cold the entire visit. We would have preferred to put on our jackets. The staff was very friendly throughout. We each had a starter, some of which were convincing, some of which weren't. The nachos didn't have enough oomph for our taste. The main course was okay, but didn't really knock any of us off our feet. We definitely recommend having a starter because a main course might not be enough if you're really hungry. In terms of price, everything is within the range of a well-established restaurant and is okay. Overall, our expectations were a little higher, which is why we were a little disappointed as the dishes lacked a unique selling point. We don't recommend going/not going, everyone has to decide for themselves. For some it might suit the taste perfectly, but for us in this case not really

I learned as much about mezcal here as I did in Mexico. Great ambience, traditional food and lots of mezcal 🇲🇽😁

The food itself was ok but not amazing. Some of the spices weren't necessarily Mexican. Then there was chicken for my dish but chicken wasn't available for my companion's. There was also ginger lemonade but no ginger tea 🤔 The restaurant is poorly insulated and it was quite cold even though the heating was turned on.

For us it was the first and last time. It was very cold in the shop and having to wait another 1 1/2 hours for food is not very inviting. For me it would actually have been a reason to order the food again. When the food finally arrived, the next disappointment came. Some of us also complained about their food, from cold to burnt and ribs were tough as a shoe sole. Then we know that you can get cleaning cloths for your fingers from spar rips. So you run to the toilet with your greasy hands and have to grab everything to wash your fingers, maybe think about it! Then to the sanitary facilities. It was so icy cold that you wanted to avoid walking. Advantage the staff was very friendly and attentive and the cocktails were delicious. If this had been our first Mexican meal, we probably wouldn't eat it again.

Das Essen war eine Katastrophe, erstmal haben wir fast Zwei Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet und dann kam das Essen und bei dem einen Essen war das Fleisch total verbrannt(sowas wird geliefert...Frechheit)es kam eine Entschuldigung aus der Küche und es wurde nicht berechnet,meine Frau war bedient.Bei dem andere Essen war der Fleischspieß kalt.Es wurde bemängelt und es kam ein neues.Mein Essen war okay,es wurde alles in einem Korb geliefert und alles zusammen(Fleisch und Bratkartoffeln alles zusammen in diesem Korb geschmissen.(liebloser geht es wirklich nicht).Die Kellnerinen waren stets bemüht.Alles zusammen...wir gehen nie mehr dort hin.

We were disappointed. Something is going very wrong in the organization. Ordered drinks and they came after 10 minutes. Ordered food. Some things on the menu are not served because they were on vacation. Please what?? Is this something like reintegration? Our starters came after about 15 minutes. That's ok. Our main courses didn't arrive for over an hour after we ordered! It took another 5 minutes until the whole table had their food. The skewer was lukewarm and went back. They then said: “We’ll warm it up again in the microwave.” Luckily, a new one arrived immediately. However, it was only slightly warmer. Another meal with something like chicken strips also went back. These were completely burnt and dry. All in all a disappointment! -long waiting times - Meals are not offered -Food is cold and/or burnt. Anyone who makes such rules has to deliver. Otherwise read it and offer kebab.

The Mexican Restaurant delights with fresh, authentic Mexican food and generous portions. There is a wide variety of dishes. This includes unusual starters as well as high-quality, meaty and fresh main courses. Even if you like it a little spicier, this is the right place for you. There really is something for every taste here. Not run-of-the-mill fast food, but real Mexican cuisine. The friendly, attentive staff and the unusual location make the visit a special experience. We've been coming here for years and even though we've since moved, we still make the almost 1.5 hour drive about once a month to eat at Mexican.

Wir waren das vorletzte mal vor 30 Jahren dort und hatten ein verdorbenes Esser- Antwort damals is eben so. Eigentlich wollte ich da nie wieder hin, aber Verwandte wollten extra da hin. Nun gut 2.Chance verdient. Bei Ankunft 16.55 Uhr, Käte und Regen mussten wir draußen warten bis genau 17.03. Das hat uns verwundert. Dann muss man seine Reservierungsnummer auswendig wissen. Fand ich sehr befremdlich. Im Handy nachgeschaut und gut. Wir kamen an einen eiskalten Tisch( Heizung gerade angestellt). Die Bedienung war jung und freundlich. Getränke kamen rasch. Bis auf das die Hälfte der bestellten Biere der Karte nicht da waren. OK. Essen wurde geordert und mit leise murmelnder Stimme serviert. Ich hatte schon wieder die Nummer meines Gerichtes vergessen. Mein Essen war vollkommen ok( Deshalb 2 Sterne) Africola muss mann mögen. Der Veganer bekam nicht veganes Essen- Wurde angemessen ausgetauscht. Viel angebranntes Essen. Meine Weizentortillas oder was auch immer wurden serviert und gleich wider abgeräumt??? Auf nachfrage, nacht dem guten Appetit wünschen dann doch noch serviert???? 8 Leute vor Ort, 6 davon unzufrieden mit dem Essen. Sonderwünsche werden ignoriert. Teller halbvoll schon fast abgeräumt ( fragten 3x nach???). Diese Divenhafte Verhalten des Wirtes passt in keinster Weise zur gebotenen Qualität. Belehrungen überall. Kurz und gut. Ich werde diese Lokalität in den nächsten 30 Jahren sicherlich nicht mehr betreten wollen. Salute

We were guests at the Mexican 🇲🇽 with family and friends (50th wedding anniversary). My wife and I knew the Mexican from two previous visits. Since we wanted a relaxed and slightly different atmosphere for our wedding anniversary, a visit to the Mexican was perfect The right thing, starting with the food, drinks and the friendly staff, it was the perfect evening, but we didn't hear anything negative from our guests, they were like us, totally thrilled, it was, in everyone's opinion, the best family get-together so far. Although, maybe so: If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine that also dares to present dishes that are not 100% in the European taste mainstream, then I don't know of a better address within a 30-minute drive . This range of spices and flavors will definitely be unrivaled for a while...

Unfortunately the food didn't taste good at all. And that at really high prices. Catastrophic price-performance ratio. They were also not prepared to accommodate an individual request (leaving out radish on the salad). Just as unfriendly as the texts on the card. We were very disappointed. Once and never again.

Casual atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food

This is fast becoming my favorite place to eat and share with friends. Delicious food, great atmosphere and a list of interesting things to drink both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Authentic Mexican food, huge portions and everytime I try something new on the menu, it's a winner. The Prawn special is a must try, the brisket too. The tacos are my sons all time favorite meal in any resturant.

We had dinner there with friends (the birthday child had requested it). Everyone had ordered different dishes. Spareribs and filled tortillas were good. My husband ordered the meat skewer with 400g of meat. There were a total of four pieces of meat on it, two of which had cartilage or tendon running through them. Plus it wasn't even 400g. When we reported this to the service person, we were told that the raw weight would be taken. Okay, we would understand that, but the quality of the meat just wasn't good. I found it rather disappointing. We won't go there anymore. We paid 130€ for four people.

*30 years of Mexican restaurant in Viersen – a disappointing visit* After more than 30 years, it's time to draw a conclusion: My most recent visit to the Mexican restaurant in Viersen was anything but pleasant. Even when making the reservation, it was difficult to get a suitable seat in the front area. Although the rustic ambience is familiar and typical of a Mexican restaurant, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly compared to before. It was particularly disappointing that the popular Mexican potatoes were no longer available. The dish 701 I ordered was bland in taste, but overly spicy, and the consistency of the meat seemed as if the meat had been "killed again" during frying. The dish 401 sounded promising on the menu, but turned out to be an oily broth with garlic, without any flavor. Although the service was obviously trying hard, a complaint was not taken seriously. Instead, it was simply pointed out that the same cook and boss had been in the house for over 30 years - and that seems to be exactly the problem. Conclusion: The one star is still benevolently awarded. I probably wouldn't have received worse service at a fast food chain on Freiheitstrasse.

We had a wonderful evening at Restaurant Mexican! The food was fantastic – every dish full of flavor and so authentic. We really liked everything about it, from the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. We felt really comfortable and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Unusual location with great food. Nothing for the Schicki Micki faction. Even the house facade promises a slightly different location. The furniture is rather spartan overall but still comfortable and the overall impression reminds me very much of Mexican restaurants that I was able to get to know in San Diego many years ago. The placemat with the rules of etiquette on it is also great. Just great! Actually, all things that are self-evident, but which are apparently often forgotten today. Written lovingly, cleverly and with a lot of humor. Reading this alone was worth the visit. We would definitely like to come back!

Würde am liebsten garkeine Sterne geben . Gastunfreundlich , Kunde kein König ( wie er auch selbst sagt) und essen dazu auch nicht gut . Laut der Betriebsanleitung für den Restaurantbesuch ( ein Zettel auf dem Tisch ) hält der Inhaber ziemlich viel von seinem Laden . Ich würde nicht nochmal hingehen . Gibt weitaus bessere Mexianer. Apropo die spare ribs vom Lidl sind empfehlenswerter :)

The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the music doesn't fit at all. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop at this small detail. The dishes on the menu are described with sometimes quite long texts that are intended to be fun to read, but you often have to work out for yourself what exactly you are ordering. However, the long texts are then surpassed by an extra card on which all possible rules are set out in font size 8. This is also supposed to be funny to read, but you can't help but get the impression that the owner has "processed" all the negative experiences with other guests here. “Why so stubborn?” you inevitably ask yourself. Were there for the first time yesterday and it was a very nice evening. There's a lot to read! Both on the placemats and on the cards. Makes the whole thing immediately likeable and, above all, very individual – something that you don't get that often these days. Very nice, rustic and relaxed atmosphere, very nice service, extremely attentive staff, food was really good, we could hardly decide and are looking forward to further visits. Highly recommended for Mexican food in the MG/Viersen area! Yesterday it was generally cold - it was also a bit chilly in the back of the restaurant. A few guests also had jackets on. You should allow for a little waiting time for your meal, but that's exactly what it says on the menu - just as information for those who are impatient, so serve it before you're really hungry or order a portion of nachos :)

Dear owner, First of all, I would like to express my sincere respect for your + > 30-year existence of the restaurant. I am now also in touch because I no longer wanted to communicate with you in person today. In fact, I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome with the unfriendly greeting and the subsequent table allocation. Excluding the happy hour offer for women and transgender people, you are definitely not concerned with inclusion or diversity. Otherwise, your etiquette (rules culture) wouldn't make fun of the current client's IQ and the behavior of stupid, idiotic customers. I really encourage you to rethink your approach to customers, as the evening at your location literally left me upset. As you know, you have great potential and it's a shame that we have to agree with the bad Google reviews. If you have considered your feedback, I would be happy to come back for a personal consultation if you also wish. Finally, I would like to wish you continued success and also apologize for the poor communication on my part after our visit ended. We wanted to break out of what I felt was a severely damaged aura as quickly as possible and hoped that customers who would appear spontaneously in the future would be properly included.

Unfortunately I have to give one star, my husband and I visited the restaurant spontaneously, we weren't even greeted by a lady, instead we were hit on because we hadn't reserved a table online. (Called beforehand and asked for space) Unfortunately, all the employees were very unfriendly, so the mood was already depressed, not only were the prices not worth it, no, the cocktails weren't prepared at all skillfully either. Since the prices for drinks were pretty terrible too, I asked if there was a happy hour... we were then told that the happy hour was only for women and transgender people, our faces were priceless... Unfortunately, it was really serious. Why does the restaurant supposedly stand for diversity, but still excludes the male gender! The visit was terrible, the staff and guests even worse.

I ordered a takeaway order of 500 g of barbecue spare ribs, and a bag of potato wedges and two small tips 23 € that's my house number 🙉 It's a shame that the prices are exploding so much, hopefully there are still enough customers who want to pay that much. For the price I would have expected more

Always delicious food and great cocktails, the staff is super friendly! However, it was very busy, so you have to be patient (we waited 1.5 hours for food and up to 30 minutes for drinks).

However, excellent food, generous portions, slightly larger tables and more space would have been great.

We also got a table without a reservation, the waitress was very nice, Was ordered Pollo Mole, Fajitas, Nachos Especial Margarita as a drink and pulque pineapple and tequila. Parking was not that easy to get!!

We had a lovely evening with delicious food. Service was attentive so we didn't have empty glasses. Even my girlfriend, who reacts to gluten, was able to eat there with a clear conscience.

Great drinks, interesting atmosphere and generous portions! We always feel very welcome here and enjoy the Mexican vibes.

Having lived outside of Germany and having eaten a lot of Mexican food, I think Mexican restaurants in Germany on average are not very good. This restaurant however, was really, really good. Both the cocktails and the food was great! Best tacos I've had so far while in Germany. Will definitely be back! :)

I had a burger that was cold and didn't taste particularly good

Slightly anarchic atmosphere but very good food and good, cheap cocktails. Tip: spare ribs with barbecue sauce. Heavy calories but absolutely delicious.

We liked it very much. I got out very happy😃 We'd love to come back next month🤗
