I had the classic bibimbap. It was carefully made and tasted delicious. The chicken was also tender and delicious.

Honestly a huge letdown- place is really small with 5 tables inside and 2 outside. Based on the previous reviews I was looking for an authentic Korean spot. Ordered the Mandu and kimchi jjigae. While the Mandu was amazing and reminded me of Mandu in Seoul, the jjigae tasted like a prepackaged spicy tomato soup. The meat was overcooked and the tofu is on the firm side. Didn’t taste fresh or authentic at all. It’s served in a metal pot and came out really fast as if they just reheated it. Also place is cash only which is another downside.

📍 Seoul 1988 - Karolinenviertel, Hamburg My last stop: Seoul 1988 in the Karolinenviertel – and I am once again thrilled by the authentic Korean cuisine! 🤤🇰🇷 🍴 What I tried: • 🥞 Kimchi Pancakes: Crispy, spicy and full of flavor – an all-time favorite! • 🍲 Jjamppong: The perfect seafood soup for fans of spicy dishes. • 🍚 Bibimbap: Fresh, aromatic and perfectly mixed - simply a classic. • 🥢 Banchan: From pickled radish to kimchi – the variety of side dishes makes every visit a highlight. ✨ What makes Seoul 1988 so special: The menu selection is huge and offers something for everyone, from spicy soups to Korean classics to small snacks. I was particularly impressed by the loving preparation and the ambience, which really reminds me of Seoul! 💡 Tip: Be sure to try the kimchi pancakes – crispy and full of umami flavor. Perfect for sharing or even alone! 🙌 📸 Which dish in the picture appeals to you most? Comment below! 👇

With the tastiest shop I've ever been to. We ordered dakgalbi to serve in the middle. That was a fantastic experience

It was our first time here and we weren't particularly impressed. It took almost half an hour to place our order. Apparently we had been forgotten because orders were constantly being taken around us. The food came very quickly, but we weren't impressed either. I had a stew with glass noodles and beef in which you had to look for the meat with a magnifying glass. My wife's dish was okay, but not great in our opinion. Overall just an average restaurant.

As a Korean visitor, 1. The owner is unfriendly (nicht so nett) 2. Noisy due to barking dogs 3. The most important thing: The taste is really bad. I went there because I heard it was a famous place, but the food I cooked tasted better. I went there because I missed Korean food, but I wasted my money.

All in all quite nice, but I find it to be rather mediocre overall. The food tastes good, but when folded down it's just a rice bowl, which isn't bad, but with a drink you can easily spend over €20, which is very excessive apart from the lunch menu. The service tries hard, but often lags behind. Unfortunately you cannot reserve. You can do it, but I wouldn't come here again.
