With the tastiest shop I've ever been to. We ordered dakgalbi to serve in the middle. That was a fantastic experience

My visit to the Seoul Restaurant in 1988 was by far the best culinary experience of the last decade! As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by an authentic Korean ambience, which immediately creates a cozy atmosphere with its traditional furnishings. We arrived at 4 p.m. and lunch with a special menu was still available until 4:30 p.m. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating, which made the visit even more pleasant. For starters we chose the fried dumpling with vegetable filling and the tteobokki with cheese - both absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. At the beginning there was a greeting from the kitchen: marinated cucumber salad, kimchi and a refreshingly delicious salad made from sprouted bean sprouts. The portions were generous and would actually have been enough as a main course. The main course – Deopbap Tofu with vegetables and rice and the Bibimbap with beef – was also an absolute highlight. Everything was fresh, aromatic and high quality. We were so full that we had the rest packed up - but that wasn't a problem either and was handled professionally. Conclusion: Seoul 1988 really impressed me and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. A great restaurant offering authentic Korean cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Tasty in taste. The price is justified. Nice large portions and 3 nice little things as a greeting from the kitchen. I would go again. Ambiance OK but the toilets more like 1 star :-D

Food was really tasty. Prices were also fair and didn't seem too expensive. Very authentic. Furnishings are rustic. You have to like it. I thought it was great in and of itself.

Everything tastes like tteokbokki sauce, I've had it in 3 dishes now, sundubu jjigae, the squid dish and another one and it never used to be like that. Seoul 1988 was the best Korean restaurant in HH, please please do it like it used to be, I was Unfortunately very disappointed with the food. I'll try it out at Grindel but I wouldn't go to the one in Eimsbüttel anymore, please make Korean dishes again. Please. I've been eating Korean food for years and have been to Korea, so I know what I'm talking about. Please I want the old Seoul 1988 back 😭

Great Korean restaurant with authentic food. The fried chicken is outstanding but above all the table grills are great - a real experience, especially if you can get a table outside.

I love it here. The food is really tasty and full of flavor. The portions are large, so you'll definitely feel full and you'll see what you're paying for. The staff is friendly and quick too. The selection is large and generally the restaurant is super authentic.

Food was ok, but I found it very expensive, we paid 200 euros for 5 people, it was nothing special, it lives from sauces and side dishes, the ambience had something of a snack bar. According to our companion, this is exactly the case in Korea. I didn't think it was that cool. The staff was friendly and tried hard. Despite my impression, the store was busy.

A very fascinating experience. A restaurant where the food is different than usual. Since we like to eat raclette, we wanted to try this one and see what it tastes like. Definitely interesting. You take home a lot of ideas for your kitchen. The service staff who served us were super nice. They supported us really well with the selection and gave us good advice. Unfortunately I couldn't show the finished meat anymore, it was too tasty to take photos

While eating outside, there were part-time workers smoking 2 meters away from the customer's table (in front of the traffic light). One of them seemed to have come from the kitchen. It didn't look good. I always enjoyed the food, but it was recently that I noticed the attitude of the part-time workers.

Best restaurant in Hamburg!!! Were there for the second time today. The food is fantastic, as is the ambience and, above all, the super friendly staff who are so warm and patient 🥹 Thank you very much for your hospitality and the delicious food 😊 See you next time!

They serve very authentic korean food. Their Kamja Tang is really good!

The food really blew me away. I've been to Seoul myself and it can completely compete with the restaurants there. Service was there immediately when you needed it. Location could be better. But totally ok.

Food quality has dropped recently and prices have increased. The portions are also smaller. It's really sad.

A very authentic Korean restaurant. An absolute highlight that you can barbeque fresh at the table. Both in the restaurant and outside. It's okay in terms of price. You will be rewarded with very fresh ingredients and incredibly nice staff. I'd love to come back.

Social eating at its best. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the food is of high quality overall and quite reasonable in terms of price. I ate here a few times with work colleagues who didn't know Korean BBQ. The restaurant was very well received by everyone.

A great restaurant!! The appetizer, which we didn't order and still got, was terrific. The main course tasted super delicious. The portions are so big that we rolled out of the restaurant. The service is super friendly and very accommodating. It's really like a short vacation in Korea. We agreed: the visit was fun. It's great that you're here. 👌

No respect for vegans nor for customers. Take it or leave type of customer service attitude. I told the waiter that my friends are vegan, asked to make it as vegan as possible, and ordered a veggie Dollsot bibimbab. Fyi: Dollsot means a hot stone bowl. A normal bibimbab with the wrong bowl came with a big fried egg on top.

Oh.. I failed to select the menu.😭 Order one Jajang or Jjamppong: Jjajang was spicy and the ginger flavor was too strong. I was excited about Jjamppong after seeing the visuals. Did you add vinegar? It was so sour that I only ate the noodles and seafood.🥲 Since the person cooking in the kitchen was not Korean, I wondered if he had a lack of understanding of Korean food. I think the restaurant needs to check the taste of the food. Even my boyfriend, who is not a picky eater, said that the Jjajangmyeon was tasteless. The side dishes were generally good, and the staff were friendly.

Everything was perfect and our group of 8 people were very happy with their food.

We already know Seoul 1988 from the city center. There is more space here, but we liked the furnishings a little less. The boneless chicken pieces are also better and easier to eat. The grill was good as expected. Unfortunately, it's difficult to park in the area and you can't do anything without a parking ticket or parking app. In contrast to 1988, there are guest toilets in the city and they are clean. Prices are pretty high, so you should definitely take that into account when visiting. For two people with a child it can quickly reach three figures.

Surprisingly good. The shop is cozy, clean and very nice. The food was really tasty, large portion, ideal for sharing. All the service staff were particularly friendly and cheerful.

Very friendly service and good solution with the button at the table. Size of tables and chairs suboptimal, especially for tall people. We ordered barbeque. The portion size was just ok because we weren't that hungry and ordered two starters. Surprisingly good beer selection. A lovely evening, thank you very much!

Is it possible to start and change like this...? I really can't believe how annoying the response is. Why do I feel embarrassed when I come with my friends? The taste isn't what it used to be, but the service is really disappointing. Why does it take 15 to 20 minutes for 2 to 3 people to check the bill for one soju to be served?

We ordered Korean barbecue for two, kimchi soup and fried dumplings, all of which were delicious and the portions of the dishes were generous. It's hard to believe that you can get such authentic Korean food in Hamburg. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Very friendly service. Also very prompt with a call button on the table. Inside deco is very cute, there is even an old school arcade machine. For food we had a mixed meat plate to grill on the table gas grill. Although it was yummy, I wish the meat had been cut thinner like in Korea or US. The meat was served with two dips, scallion salad and leaf greens. We also had Kimchi Chigae, which is a spicy Kimchi stew with pork belly. This too was yummy. For sides, we had regular Kimchi, cucumber Kimchi and sprouts. All in all: Will come again! Oh, and we were allowed to bring our dog to the restaurant, so another plus.

The first Korean in Hamburg that felt "authentic" to me. Korean pop songs are playing on the big screen, the atmosphere is friendly and cozy and as a German potato you are really in the minority. I found it particularly nice that I discovered completely new flavors that I had never tried before! It's simply a league higher than the "mainstream" Korean restaurants that are otherwise known in Hamburg.

First time eating Korean, but I'm absolutely convinced. 36€ for a dish for two people with extremely generous portions, our starter was definitely not necessary to fill us up. Decently spicy, as it said on the menu, but the taste just outweighed the pain. We left with a box that also contained another meal. Thank you!

The beef soup here was just horrible! The meat was so sparse that I initially thought it was a vegetable soup. As you can see from the picture, the meat was not only minimal, but also incredibly hard and broken into tiny pieces. It didn't taste fresh at all, was extremely salty and chewy. The soup itself was also shockingly salty, and the vegetables in it were so overcooked that they almost fell apart. When I asked the waiter if this was normal, after consulting with the chef, he confirmed that everything was fine. I paid about 16 euros for this terrible beef soup, of which I only took a few bites. I certainly won't be coming back. This store is a nightmare.

Atrocious wait time, okay food, nice staff. Excess of 1.5 hours to get our food after ordering. We had a small group but tables around us arrived, received food, and left before all of our party was served. Asked multiple times and was told 5-10 minutes each time. Tofu beef soup not as pictured either, only two pieces of beef so be weary of their menu because it doesn’t depict your actual meal. Poor ventilation meant the restaurant was mostly smoky when we were eating.

War mit einer Freundin dort zum ersten Mal essen. Unsere Bestellung wurde stückweise nur nach 10min zu unseren Tisch gebracht. Die Portionen haben zu dem Preis gepasst. Es war MEGA lecker und die Kellner/innen waren überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen aufjedenfall öfters vorbei!

Ganz toller Laden mit sehr gutem Essen, man hat leider nicht sehr viel Platz wenn der Laden voll ist aber bei dem leckeren Essen ist das zu ertragen, die Bestellung kam flott und alle wurden gut satt, sehr zu empfehlen!

Well, bibimbap options are all great and delicious. Cheese-tteokbokki is great and their amazing fired chickens, alllll satisfying to a great extent. Any time of the day, to-go Korean for sure.

Wirklich sehr netter laden, so eine kreative Einrichtung habe ich aufjedenfall noch nicht gesehen. Essen hat super geschmeckt und für sein Geld bekommt man definitiv große Portionen mit ordentlichen Beilagen. Nette Kellnerinnen und es gab auch nichts zu bemängeln. Würde wieder hingehen und kann den laden weiterempfehlen.

Sehr gutes koreanisches Barbecue! Das Fleisch ist gut mariniert und die Sauce dazu ist köstlich. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist top 👍🏼 Wunderschöne Innendekoration

Unsere Tochter Bente hat nach unserem Zoo - Hagebeck Besuch einmal ein korinthisches Restaurant ausgewählt. Wir wollten unseren Gästen mal etwas Anderes bieten. Das hat definitiv geklappt - es war sehr aromatisch, frisch und sehr geschmackvoll 😋. Alle unsere Gästen waren hellauf begeistert und wollen noch einmal mit deren Familie hierher fahren. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Macht weiter so 👍

Ich war mit den Kollegen essen und suchte natürlich nach dem Korea-Feeling meiner früheren Dienstreisen. Tatsächlich gibt es hier die berühmten Tischgrills, allerdings UVV-gerecht mit einer Gasflasche im Tisch anstelle der abenteuerlichen freiliegenden Gasleitungen im Gastraum. Das Lokal ist sehr schlicht und nicht besonders groß, der Service ist gut. Die Auswahl an koreanischen Bieren ist beschränkt, es gibt Cass, was meinen Kollegen leider nicht so mundete. Aber die auf Reis basierenden Getränke fanden Anklang.

제가 독일 온 이후로 양친자(양념치킨에 미친 자)가 돼서 거의 함부르크에 있는 모든 한식집에서 다 양념치킨을 먹어봤는데 정말 여기 만한 데가 없네요!! 여기 양념치킨이랑 제육볶음 중독됐어요ㅎㅎ 직원 분들도 따뜻하시고 센스있으셔서 좋아요! 가격은 싸진 않은 편이지만 2-3인분 양이 나와서 괜찮은 편인 거 같아요 :)

Das Essen ist sehr gut....aber wenn das Lokal voll ist, dann ist es auch Mega Laut und die Kleidung riecht schon Recht Doll....besser das Essen to go mitnehmen.

Freunde aus Südkorea bestätigen, dass es absolut authentisch ist, optisch als auch geschmacklich! Allerdings ist der Service wiederholt nicht 5 Sterne würdig gewesen. Bestellungen durcheinander gebracht und die Kommunikation was falsch gelaufen ist, lief leider auch durch die sprachliche Barriere nicht so super. Problematisch ist vor allem, dass wenn jemand das Hühnchen bestellt, ca 30 min später das Essen bekommt als Leute die andere Dinge bestellt haben.

Das Essen schmeckte bislang immer. Gute Empfehlungen seitens der Mitarbeiter. Sehr zufrieden. Ein wirkliches Erlebnis.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und authentisch! Service war ebenfalls sehr authentisch und hat uns leider nicht verstanden, aber sofort eine nette Kollegin geholt, die uns gut versorgt hat. Insgesamt war das Personal sehr aufmerksam und herzlich. Das Ambiente sollte wohl an eine Art Straßenlokal aus Soul erinnern. Der vibe ist bei uns aber nicht so ganz angekommen und war durch die immer offene Tür bei 10 °C Außentemperstur auch nicht der angenehmste Ort zum Verweilen. Der Besuch war insgesamt aber gut und im Sommer kommen wir gerne wieder.

Durch das Schlemmerbuch sind wir auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Das Ambiente war sehr schön. Die Klingel am Tisch war mega, man muss nicht stundenlang warten bis einer kommt wenn man bestellen oder bezahlen möchte 👍 Auch das Essen war sehr lecker und alle Mitarbeiter hatten gute Laune und waren fröhlich, hat man nicht so oft. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Really great authentic Korean food! Not cheap, but large portions and absolutely delicious.

The meals are quite pricey, but you get large portions. This was our first Korean bbq experience and they didn't explain anything to us so we ended up burning our food and didn't fully know what we were eating. Some food came right away, some came 45 minutes later. You need a reservation! Call a few days in advance.

Sehr authentisches Ambiente mit und super leckeres Essen. Das beste Fried Chicken, was ich je gegessen habe! Nur der hohe Preis wäre zu bemängeln. Insgesamt jedoch sehr empfehlenswert!

Das Essen war lecker und sehr schmackhaft. Ein Gericht sehr scharf, war doch etwas ungewöhnlich für meine Lippen und Zunge. Einrichtung war einfach. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und höflich.

Kurz nach 17 Uhr war ich im Laden und wollte Korean fried chicken zum Mitnehmen. Nach mir sind noch 3 Gruppen mit je 2-4 Personen gekommen, die im Restaurant gegessen haben. Insgesamt musste ich 45min (!) auf mein Essen warten. Ich frage mich immer noch, was so lange gedauert hat. Da der Laden auch nicht voll war! Als ich Zuhause war, fiel mir dann auch auf, dass das fried chicken ohne Reis kommt. Zusätzlich war das fried chicken mit Knochen und kam nur mit ein bisschen Rettich. Und wenn man den Preis von 23€ bedenkt, finde ich es schon frech. Lediglich die Größe der Portion war in Ordnung.

Egal ob leckerer Grill, absolut gigantisches Fried Chicken oder Bibimbap. Essen ist hier top. Der sehr freundliche Service rundet das super ab.

Gutes Essen, schönes Ambiente und freundlicher Service. Fried chicken kannte ich beim Koreaner nur ohne Knochen und das war mir persönlich lieber, aber es war dennoch alles sehr lecker und wir waren alle zufrieden mit unserem Essen. Ich fand es allerdings schon recht hochpreisig (Fried chicken 22€, Flasche Wasser 7€, kleine Cola Zero 3€ = insgesamt 32€ plus Trinkgeld nur für eine Person)

Wir waren an einem Freitagabend da. Eine Reservierung ist sinnvoll. Wir hatten den Grill genutzt und zu viert zwei Gerichte bestellt (1 Gericht sind 2 Portionen). In der Tischmitte befindet sich ein Gasgrill, auf dem das Essen platziert wird. Beim Service zwei Sterne Abzug, da uns nicht erklärt wurde, wie das mit dem Grill funktionierte und wir daher auch nicht wussten, wie man die Flamme beim Grill kleiner stellt. Das führte dazu, dass die Soße verkochte. Und wir waren noch nicht fertig mit der ersten Grillplatte, da stellte sie uns bereits die zweite hin (und nahm die erste zur Seite). Dadurch kam beim Essen etwas hektik auf, was unschön war. Geschmacklich war das Essen gut. Beim Ambiente einen Stern Abzug, da es am Ende sehr laut im Restaurant war. Insgesamt war es gut. Ich kenne das Bibimbap aus der Innenstadt, was super ist, für den Grill würden wir vermutlich nicht wiederkommen.
