My review is based on many visits to the restaurant. For me, this restaurant is a traditional, classic Korean family restaurant that doesn't jump on the current K-food hype, but does its own thing. The highlight is, of course, the Korean BBQ, where you grill your own food right at your table. It's especially fun in a group, somewhat comparable to German raclette. But you should also definitely try the à la carte dishes. Tip: Place all the dishes in the middle and share. My favorite dishes🍲🥢❤️: Main courses: • Japchae, fried glass noodles with or without meat • Cheese Tteokbokki, spicy rice cake stew, also available in a non-spicy version. • Bibimbap, vegetarian/vegan or with meat • Dak Gangjeong, crispy chicken balls Appetizers: • Kimchi Jeon, kimchi pancakes, not at all spicy and therefore suitable for those who avoid spicy foods • Chicken skewers with white sauce and a delicious salad garnish with dressing (the dressing is super delicious; I would prefer to order the salad separately if it were available) Banchan🥣 (side dishes, always included) My favorites are the pickled cucumbers, the pickled salad in soybean paste, and the white cabbage slaw. The kimchi is also very tasty, but sometimes a bit too spicy. Generally speaking, all red side dishes are spicy. Recommendation for Korean BBQ🔥: This combination has always been very popular: - marinated rump steak slices - marinated pork neck - marinated boneless chicken thighs Desserts🍧: • Bingsu (Iced Snow❄️) My favorites: 1. Matcha 2. Soybean flour 3. Mango 4. Red beans • Hotteok, filled yeast dough parcels with cinnamon, best paired with black sesame ice cream! Atmosphere🏠: During peak times, it can get quite loud when the restaurant is full. During off-peak times or at lunchtime, however, it's pleasantly quiet. One small drawback to Korean BBQ: Your clothes will smell of grilling afterward. That's part of the experience, but it's handy that the restaurant now offers garment bags for hanging jackets to reduce the smell. Sanitary facilities🚽: The restrooms are functional, but a bit dated and appear somewhat neglected in places. A quick lick of paint or a refresh would be recommended. Lunch🍲: Highly recommended! You get soup, side dishes, and a daily changing main course. I find the Korean schnitzel particularly delicious – very juicy and soft, not at all comparable to a German schnitzel. Vegetarian & vegan 🌱: I can also recommend the restaurant for vegetarians and vegans. So far, my vegetarian and vegan friends have also been very satisfied. I would like to try a bingsu with a milk alternative. However, I can understand that this would be a bit complicated to prepare.❤️ Staff🙋🏼‍♀️: The waiters are always friendly, attentive, and helpful. They patiently explain everything, especially to those new to Korean cuisine, making the experience very pleasant. The staff and restaurant are child-friendly. Conclusion: I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't just want to eat Korean fried chicken, but also wants to get to know Korean cuisine or enjoy a pleasant evening together. There's something for everyone here. Even my family and friends, who were new to Korean cuisine, were very pleasantly surprised.

Dinner at Hanmi Korean Restaurant in Hamburg with Korean BBQ, bibimbap, and kimchi jjigae. What a feast!

The two of us went to the restaurant today (Saturday). I had made a reservation in advance. I have to say the food was incredibly delicious. We had the grill table with beef fillet and boneless chicken thighs, various vegetables, and a bowl of rice for each of us. Including drinks, we paid less than €70. The service was amazing, the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere. All in all, a 10 out of 10. We would definitely go back.

Bit disappointed no bbq for lunch but really wanted Asian food and I highly recommend! Bibimbap was very good, glass noodles cooked perfectly and fantastic seafood pancake! Great food and great service with friendly staff. We were there for the first time today and will definitely be back. Maybe we'll try the grill, but the dishes on the menu were also incredibly delicious. And sharing a snowflake at the end is a particularly delicious experience.

Everything's great, but unfortunately it's very loud because there aren't enough sound absorbers, and the sound is very strong in the rooms. A few more sound absorbers, screens, and plants would make it more pleasant and attractive.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was outstanding. During the first checkout, the waitress forgot my drink (which wasn't a big deal at all), but then I got the drink on the house. Thank you for that!

Absolutely recommended this place when visiting Hamburg. It was right next to our hotel, so we decided to try it for lunch. The restaurant was very child-friendly and not too crowded, which we appreciated. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for dinner and had the same Korean barbecue. The staff were fantastic and provided five-star service during both visits.

The chicken stew was a little bland, but the other dishes were all delicious. The squid rice bowl in particular was stir-fried well without any moisture.

Fantastic! We were very lucky to get a table for two without a reservation. The food is absolutely fantastic – freshly cooked and incredibly delicious. We grew up with Korean cuisine, and we were truly impressed by the dishes. What made the evening special, however, was our waiter, Erik, who served us with absolute professionalism and friendliness. People like Erik make you feel like a guest, not just a customer. Overall, Han-Mi impressed us so much that we returned for lunch the next day. It's been a really long time since I've had raw beef bibimbap! It was a little salty, so I added a bowl of rice and shared it with my son. The mackerel stew was so delicious that I couldn't believe it!! Please stop by and try it~~

The food and service were perfect, thank you! The acoustic of the restaurant is pretty noisy, a normal conversation is difficult. Be aware, after the visit your clothes become very smelly.

Looking for a good place for dinner after the musical. Very friendly welcome - briefly informed that the kitchen was open and seated at a table with a grill. We weren't sure whether to order a grill or a la carte. The Greek waiter was not only smart but also incredibly friendly! He made a recommendation (upon request), and it was delicious! The drinks are also something different - cold ginger and cinnamon tea. Wow! Delicious! With the main course, you also get six small bowls of other delicacies, which you can have refilled once. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it! One thing to note, though, is that the grills leave your clothes smelling of food...

I went to Hanmi for lunch with colleagues. They offer self-service lunches. I had the chicken schnitzel lunch menu for €11.50 – the portion was generous and tasted absolutely delicious. My colleagues opted for the Bek Ban, which, at €18.50, is quite expensive, especially for a self-service meal. Overall, the food was delicious, the portions were large, and the quality was impressive. Apart from the somewhat hefty price tag for the Bek Ban, everything was excellent.

Very good restaurant. Food was tasty. There is an option to grill by ourself, but we did not take it. It’s better to reserve the table beforehand, especially with self grill tables, because restaurant was very full. With almost all dishes you get rice and 6 different tasty supplements. We took fried mackerel and pork. Pork was marked with a spicy sign, but it was not very spicy, more sweet spicy. Both dished were very good.

Located directly behind the Reeperbahn, Han-Mi offers very good, original Korean food and drinks. No matter whether you choose the table barbecue or eat à la carte, the food is fresh, very tasty and perfectly prepared. The service is friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. The price-performance ratio is good.

This is a meat restaurant. As soon as you walk in, the smell of seasoned bulgogi is amazing. But the seafood stew was also delicious. The 6-cheok side dishes are also neatly served. Shrimp, raw shrimp, mussels, squid, and frozen fish are included. Lastly, I've never seen a place in Germany with a wait until now, but there is a huge waiting line here.

Went there for the first time yesterday. Were welcomed very friendly and escorted to the table. The staff was generally very friendly and attentive. The menu left nothing to be desired and we decided on four different plates for the barbecue. You also get rice and six different side dishes, which can be refilled if necessary. We would be asked if an explanation was needed and the supplements would be named and presented. Questions were answered professionally at all times. The food was incredibly delicious - thank you for the wonderful evening! We'd love to come back!

The tables are mostly arranged “discreetly”, which we found good. Some of the food is fresh (vegetables/salad) but unfortunately the fish was frozen. Overall, it didn't blow us away. (Average), But you can definitely do it. The service: our lady was excellent - 5 out of 5 stars, very attentive 👍🏽 The prices are at normal Hamburg levels. Conclusion: eating out once in a different way, a new experience, but it doesn't have to happen again. It's important to put your clothes in the washing machine immediately after your visit and take a shower!

Excellent Korean cuisine served in a very un-Korean environment. Service was kind of weird and certainly not Korean at all. The kimchi pancakes were to die for.

This is a Korean restaurant I stopped by during a business trip to Hamburg. The interior was very spacious and there were many seats inside. The table is styled so that you can grill meat in the middle, but since it was lunch, we closed it and ate from the a la carte menu. The bean sprout soup was refreshing, generous, and delicious. It was nice to be able to choose the soup ingredients separately. There is a paid parking lot right in front of the store, so parking was convenient. I think I'll stop by again when I go to Hamburg again.

Absolutely authentic Korean BBQ—as good as I've only ever experienced in Seoul! The meat and side dishes are of outstanding quality, and the tableside preparation makes the meal a real experience. The service is surprisingly friendly and fast, especially considering the size of the restaurant. The only downside: the ambiance. The large, noisy hall is more reminiscent of a train station than a cozy restaurant. Those who value a quiet atmosphere might have a problem here. Nevertheless: top-notch taste and excellent value for money! We'd love to come back the next time we're in Hamburg.

Anyone who has tried Korean BBQ in Korea will agree that it is the original. Very tasty, priced like anywhere else. Unexpensive. Supplements are included in the price and are refillable. We really enjoyed it. Table reservation online is super easy. We will definitely visit again. A negative point. Maybe it was just us. We had to wait a little longer until the table was served. But we were already hungry 👀 All in all a great experience.

If you like authentic Korean barbecue, you will definitely get your money's worth here. We had the pleasure of tasting our way through an opulent selection of meats, sides and entrees - and were not disappointed. The start – dumplings & chicken hearts as the perfect introduction Before the big barbecue feast began, we started with homemade dumplings that were wonderfully crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was on point – a pleasant balance of savory and slightly sweet, typically Korean. Then things got a little more unusual: chicken hearts. Maybe not for everyone, but definitely a highlight for fans of offal. They were perfectly grilled, buttery and intense in taste, but without the typical metallic aftertaste that you might sometimes expect. A real delicacy and an exciting introduction to the barbecue experience. The centerpiece – Korean barbecue in perfection Then came the star of the evening: the Korean barbecue. The tables are equipped with built-in grill plates so you can grill the meat yourself fresh at the table - an interactive experience that makes dining even more entertaining. The selection of meat was generous and of high quality. From tender strips of beef to juicy pork to aromatic chicken breast, everything was there. The meat was marinated well, but not over-seasoned, so that the flavor was retained. The bulgogi (marinated beef) in particular was an absolute highlight – buttery, slightly sweet and full of umami. Endless side dishes – a feast for lovers of Korean cuisine What makes a good Korean barbecue is not just the meat, but also the numerous side dishes (banchan) - and here the after-serving was generous. We had: ✅ Kimchi – wonderfully fermented, spicy-hot and with the perfect acidity ✅ Sprout salad – crunchy and lightly refined with sesame oil ✅ Pickled radishes - a sweet and sour refreshment between the pieces of meat ✅ Korean pancakes (Pajeon) – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, a real treat ✅ Gochujang paste & sauces - for extra spice on the grill No matter how much we ate, the friendly waiters kept adding more side dishes so that nothing was left to be desired. Conclusion – A real taste experience with perfect service Han-Mi has managed to offer an authentic, high quality and at the same time super sociable Korean barbecue experience. Easily the best Bulgogi-Bibimbap (#162) I had throughout Europe!! I came quite late at around 10pm, starving because I had walked around all day long. I was seated quickly and served the menu. I ordered #162 and the food came within 10 minutes. Note that this dish comes with 6 side dishes and a clear soup - no extra charges! Highlights: - Kimchi was homemade and to my taste - Side-Dishes were prepared with fresh veggies and truly Korean originals - Soup was clear and cleansing - Bibimbap was simply the best Highly recommendable for anyone wanting to try genuinly authentic Korean cuisine! I gave them a generous tip and left with a big smile! ******** DOG-FRIENDLY *******

Visited the Han-Mi Korean Restaurant for lunch today. Authentic Korean dishes are served here. The 🍴 restaurant is quite large and the seating is comfortable. At lunchtime a limited selection of various mixed dishes. After ordering and paying, you will receive a 📟 pager and will be informed when you can pick up your food. This will probably save you on staff. But it worked very well and was quick. We had dumplings twice with vegetarian and 🐖 pork filling, very 😋 tasty As a main course, Bulgogi with marinated pork, a fish fillet, a soup, and 6 different salads and rice. And the same thing only with beef. The food was excellent and a good combination in the composition. We also drank a 🍻 beer. Come back again in the evening to use the table grill and eat hot pot. Price-performance unbeatable and good portions! The service is friendly and quick. An insider tip in St. Pauli, if you like Korean food, this is the place for you!

A Korean restaurant that's truly one of the best in Hamburg, and even in all of Germany. I regret not going to this recently opened place called 1988 first. It's so amazing... Don't go to the Korean restaurants advertised on Naver, go here.

I discovered this restaurant through Google. The service, and especially the food, is authentic. But even more so – healthy and tastes like South Korea (if you've ever been there, it's a great country). The kimchi, for example, is good for your gut (a fermented food). Kudos to the kitchen. Best Korean in Hamburg, I'm sorry but a certain shop 1988 can't keep up in the slightest. The barbecue meat is quality. The menu is very diverse, perhaps a little too much. The staff is very nice and attentive. I also definitely recommend the Japchae

I've been to South Korea 3 times and love Korean food! Hanmi offers delicious and authentic Korean cuisine. I often enjoyed lunch with colleagues during the week, the dishes only cost 8-13 EUR, absolutely unbeatable. We have also enjoyed Korean barbecue with a table grill several times in the evening for 30 people and even on a larger scale with 90 people. Everything always went well and the service was very good! As a dessert I can recommend Bingsu, a “snow” ice cream in different flavors. Something completely different and a sweet dessert tea with it!

We've been going here for Korean BBQ every 2-3 months for years and have never been disappointed. The dishes and sides have always been top-notch! And the service and even the wine list have gotten better and better :-) It's and will remain our "regular Korean restaurant," if I may say so :-) Only recommendation: The ambiance could use a tiny bit of a refresh.

Enjoy korean food in an authentic atmosphere! Our favorite dish is the original Bibimbap with beef or tofu. But you should also try the table grill. If you wanna enjoy a healthy meal at Han-Mi, call them for a reservation. Especially when you want to do the table grill or enjoy the meal with 2+ people. Recommendation!

Barbecue was delicious, varied and a new experience.

First things first: the rice. That was actually the only thing that was good. Unfortunately, the rest of the food, especially the dishes that came out of the kitchen ready-made, was absolutely disappointing. Everything was practically swimming in grease – even a simple seafood pancake was soaked through. Even worse than the food, however, was the service. We had barely been served the soup when, after just 30 seconds, the next course (pancakes) was brought to the table – while we were still eating the soup. When I pointed out that we would like to enjoy the dishes one after the other and in peace, a short time later, while we were eating the pancake, the main course and side dishes were simply scattered across the table. This has nothing to do with hospitality. I have never experienced such poor and rude service. The whole thing felt like a fast food joint, not a restaurant. Absolutely disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The service in the store is incredibly friendly, attentive, incredibly quick even in the greatest turmoil and chaos! Absolute must: reservation!!!! Without it it is very, very difficult to get a seat/table! You can be lucky, but unfortunately 99.9% of the guests who request are turned away! Reservation is super simple and uncomplicated! Reminder message will be sent! For me -> if Korean, then Han mi!
