We stayed at the guesthouse for two nights and really enjoyed it. The large room in the attic was very cozy (and clean) and lovingly furnished; like the entire establishment - with a rustic pub next to it that has a great selection of beer and whiskey. The whole thing is looked after by very attentive and friendly innkeepers. And all for an absolutely fair price. I would have liked to stay...

Great pub, good atmosphere and very friendly atmosphere, also Notty Band was there :)

Guests were definitely very nice, but the waiter was so unfriendly, came in, as you do, of course you say hello or shake your hand to greet us, the bartender didn't even give us the chance and threw us right out with a disrespectful wave. Absolutely disrespectful, especially since I assumed it was a cool place to have a few beers. I would like to try it again and change my review depending on what happens.

As long as you don't order food here, everything is fine! The food is different.

Went there for the first time this week. Small shop that is not on your radar despite its central location. I love it. Felt super welcome and very pleasant crowd

The former Machold always had the disadvantage that it was always very loud due to the high and bare stone walls. Unfortunately, that hasn't changed with the Barleycorn. The bar area is great for chatting, but the noise level in the back “hall” is great enormous. On the evening of our visit we also had a small live combo that played songs every now and then. Basically great, but there were no conversations at all. Therefore a star deduction for the ambience. The food is good, the burgers and sides are a bit plain - but tasty.

Rich-tasting drinks, properly chilled, friendly service, music and the interior and atmosphere of the place. Everyone will find something on the large menu and have time until 3 A.M. :)

We reserved the darts there and played for a few hours, the food was great and the service, a young lady with dark hair, was so great! Very accommodating, relaxed, funny, created a great atmosphere and always made sure we had everything. And the dude behind the counter was also very friendly and knew the taste of beer (the lady too). The only thing I would like to mention: please get a set of new steel darts

Great Irish pub in the center of Cologne. A must try if you wish to catch up a Premier League game or join a Karaoke show inside the bar. Really fun place
