Zu allererst der Hinweis: Hier werden auch Veganer verwöhnt.Wir haben uns absolut willkommen gefühlt.Der Standort ermöglicht es fußläufig zur Altstadt und zum Klingenmuseum zu gehen. Bushaltestelle ist unmittelbar vor dem Haus.Beste Verbindungen vorhanden.Sehr herzliche Wirtsleute mit dem Herz am rechten Fleck ,und Freude am Beruf.Hier durften wir Gastlichkeit erleben ! ! ! Du kommst als Gast und gehst als "Freund". Drei Tage waren wir hier.Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt(na ja ,ein weiterer Handtuchhalter im Bad wäre noch wünschenswert,und ein kleines Tischelchen im Zimmer). Ein fürstliches Frühstück mit einem Angebot ,besser wie in vielen 4Sterne Superior Hotels.Aber besonders ist hervorzuheben was alles für Veganer hergerichtet wurde.Selten eine so tolle Auswahl vorgefunden.Auch zum Abendessen wurde auf unseren Wunsch vegan gekocht. Wenn uns der Weg in die Nähe führt werden wir nochmal hier essen und wohnen.Grüsse von Ulrike und Peter Schumacher

Der Service war hervorragend und das Zimmer war wirklich perfekt sauber. Die Lage ist ebenfalls gut, direkt gegenüber dem Busbahnhof.

Wir waren über Nacht dort, im Familienzimmer mit Bad en Suite. Das vegane Frühstück war phänomenal, total vielfältig und sehr ausreichend - daher unbedingt vorher anmelden, wenn man vegan isst. Abends im Pub war die Atmosphäre auch sehr angenehme, nette Gäste und tolle Gastgeber! Sollten wir wieder in der Nähe sein, werden wir wieder hier übernachten. Bis bald!

War das Dritte mal da, immer wenn ich auf Montage hier bin. Sehr schönes gemütliches Pub, toll eingerichtet. Ein Ort zum wohlfühlen. Der Wirt ist klasse, locker und sehr freundlich, die Seele des Pubs. Ein echtes Unikat. Auch die Bedienungen sind sehr freundliche und kompetente. Jedes mal etwas gegessen wenn ich da war, wurde nie enttäuscht! Das Essen ist hervorragend, und das Guinness vom Fass schmeckt sehr gut. Guinness gibt es hier auch Alkoholfrei.

Bester Pub östlich der britischen Inseln. Liebevoll restauriertes historisches Fachwerkhaus mit sehr englischem - oh Verzeihung - cornischem Interieur, einer passenden Speisekarte mit prima Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und den Drinks, die man sich an einem solchen Ort wünscht. Hinzu kommt on Top noch eine breite Auswahl von erlesenen schottischen Whiskys. Die sehr modernen Zimmer in diesem alten Haus sind frisch ausgestattet und blitzsauber. Das inhabergeführte Guesthouse ist meine absolute Top-Empfehlung in dem wunderbaren bergischen Örtchen Gräfrath!

Wir waren für eine Nacht bei euch und rundum begeistert. Schon beim Ankommen wurden wir unglaublich herzlich empfangen, sodass wir uns direkt wohlgefühlt haben. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sauber und lassen wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Auch der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und absolut professionell. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Essen und die Getränke – alles war frisch, liebevoll zubereitet und einfach richtig lecker. Man merkt, dass hier mit viel Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit!

Ein kleiner Pub, sehr gut erreichbar Das Essen und der Service sind Top, man fühlt sich wohl und die Zeit vergeht wie im Fluge. Auch nicht wenn man nach dem Essen noch verweilen möchte, kein Problem und kein drängen !

Wir haben auf unserer Wanderung auf dem Bergischen Weg hier Station gemacht und würden jederzeit wiederkommen! Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich, das ganze Haus verströmt einen urigen Charme und es gab sogar kostenlos Tee und Kaffee. Für das Abendessen sind wir im dazugehörigen Pub nebenan eingekehrt und wurden nicht enttäuscht, die Cornish Pasties sind hervorragend! Britisches Feeling pur, absolut zu empfehlen für einen Aufenthalt oder eine nette Einkehr!

Zufällig haben wir diesen kleinen Pub entdeckt – und was soll ich sagen: einfach ein Volltreffer! Super nette Gastgeber, bei denen man sich direkt willkommen fühlt. Wir nehmen sogar gerne 2–3 Stunden Fahrt auf uns, nur um wieder vorbeizuschauen – selbst für eine Nacht lohnt es sich total. 🥰 Das Essen ist richtig lecker, und der Apfel-Crumble? Zum Dahinschmelzen! 🤤🤤 Einfach nur geil 😍 Ob wir wiederkommen? Was für eine Frage – natürlich kommen wir wieder! Danke, liebe Susi, lieber Klaus und natürlich auch an das ganze Team ❤️

Klaus ist der perfekte Gastgeber. Ich habe mich sofort willkommen gefühlt. Das Haus ist liebevoll und durchdacht eingerichtet und hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Hier ist viel Herzblut reingesteckt worden! Auch der Pub ist einen Besuch wert - nicht nur wegen des Guinness vom Fass... Eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, sehr guter Service und eine liebevoll gestaltete Einrichtung. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Ich habe nur die Gaststätte besucht. Tolle Location, gutes Essen und eine ausgesprochen große Auswahl an Getränken. Sehr nette Bedienung. Ich war das erste Mal da, komme aber sehr gerne wieder.

Wir waren absolut begeistert! Wir haben auf unserer Autoreise zufällig hier einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt und dabei überaus freundliches Personal, eine tolle Atmosphäre und leckeres Essen vorgefunden! Ein echter Geheimtipp!

Warnung: Wer hier ein Guinness oder Kölsch trinkt, könnte spontan vergessen, was Stress überhaupt ist. Die Atmosphäre ist so entspannt, dass selbst der Wirt offenbar beschlossen hat, heute mal nichts Ernstes zu tun – und genau das macht den Laden perfekt! 😎 Hier wird Geselligkeit nicht einfach angeboten, sie wird liebevoll ausgeschenkt, mit einem Augenzwinkern serviert und bleibt garantiert länger als geplant. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die Lachen, gute Gespräche und ein volles Glas schätzen! 🍺✨

Ein wunderbarer Ort. Wir haben (leider nur) eine Nacht in einem wunderschönen Zimmer verbracht und sind abends in den English Pub gegangen. Das Essen war hervorragend. Der Spießbraten-Burger nicht zu toppen. Die Besitzer sehr humorvoll, freundlich und offen. Als England-Fans hatten wir einen ganz tollen Aufenthalt dort. Wir würden das Cornish Arms immer weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für alles! Und tschüss! 😉

Quite apart from the delicious food and great drinks, you can't help but feel comfortable with the owners of this place. They're always ready to listen to your every wish and have a friendly chat.

We chose The Cornish Arms pub for our small Christmas party, and it exceeded our expectations. Fantastic service, super friendly and attentive, very cozy atmosphere, beautifully decorated for Christmas, and of course, delicious food. Highly recommended!

A definite recommendation for Solingen. We went out to dinner last night with good friends and were absolutely thrilled. Very friendly staff, delicious food, and afterward, we had a little private whiskey tasting.

Two questions arise: 1. Where do you find such friendly and motivated service staff these days? 2. Where can we still get a seat in this small, cozy beer garden, once word gets around about how good it is to sit, eat, and drink here. Four different dishes, all impeccable. The Guinness is simply delicious, and the chef's whiskey recommendations are spot on. Fantastic.

A pub gem, even for non-pub-goers. Klaus and Susi's lovely pub is worth a visit. Food and drinks are served in a rustic atmosphere. They also have rooms, but unfortunately, we didn't stay there.

We really had a lovely moment there, we went for a drink that directly moved into dinner. The waiter was so nice with us which really had something to the moment. As our waiter did I really recommend the crumble, it was amazing !

There's something for everyone here, and vegan options are available upon request. The chef showcases her unique skills. There are at least five beers on tap, the place is always busy, and the customers are friendly. Even if all the tables are taken, you can always find a seat. The team has a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. The concept is quaint and cozy, inviting you to sink your teeth into the atmosphere.

A wonderful little spot where passion and dedication are evident in every crack and crevice. It often takes courage to take the first step in a new direction. Klaus and Susi were so brave to take on this historic house and thus made it possible for us to experience our family celebration with the greatest comfort imaginable. They are two wonderful souls with an infectious enthusiasm, and that's exactly what makes it so special. We can hardly wait to visit them again soon. All the best until then.

I went hiking in Bergisches with a friend and we stayed at the Cornish Arms. Great service, delicious beer and a good breakfast. What more could you want, we really liked it. Very clean and good mattresses, I slept wonderfully there after a long hike through the mountains. All in all, Gräfrath is a nice little place.

We stayed at the guesthouse for two nights and really enjoyed it. The large room in the attic was very cozy (and clean) and lovingly furnished; like the entire establishment - with a rustic pub next to it that has a great selection of beer and whiskey. The whole thing is looked after by very attentive and friendly innkeepers. And all for an absolutely fair price. I would have liked to stay...

I've been to many pubs, but this one is one of the gems. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy, just like you would imagine a pub to be. The furnishings are designed with great attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The landlord in particular stands out - he always has a good saying up his sleeve, which lightens the mood even further. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The selection of Irish beers and whiskeys is fantastic and leaves nothing to be desired. All in all, I would highly recommend The Cornish Arms. If you are in Solingen and want to experience an authentic Irish pub, you should definitely stop by here! I'll definitely be back!

A really lovely pub decorated with great attention to detail. Being a host is a real thing here. Right next door is the associated guest house with also beautifully furnished rooms.

Delicious food, friendly service and a great ambience. We were definitely not there for the last time.

A truly quaint guesthouse and a very helpful host. We were greeted by Klaus, the owner of the house, and shown to our room. The building was renovated in 2019 and this showed the good condition of our room and the rest of the building. Cozy furnishings, typical English style that blends with the half-timbered slate houses of the area. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to use the pub/restaurant but we know a few people who ate there. Everyone said it was really delicious home cooking (partly English) with fair prices. Breakfast was continental, although we could have ordered full English if we wanted. One small criticism is the lack of parking on site itself. We were lucky to find a parking space a little further up the road, however there is a public car park about a five minute walk away. All in all, a highly recommended accommodation, even for a short vacation.

Authentische und freundliche Mitarbeiter, total lecker Essen, tolle Atmosphäre. Es war ein genial schönes WE.Haben im Gästehaus übernachtet. Waren erst etwas skeptisch wegen Etagendusche und Etagentoilette. Da Toilette und Dusche getrennt und es nur zwei Zimmer pro Etage sind, ist das überhaupt kein Problem. Wunderschöne neue Zimmer,Dusche und WC. Total liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir kommen garantiert und gerne wieder.

Actually a nice shop. Even though it was moderately full, we weren't allowed in. Could make a lot more of itself, so this isn't an Irish Pup, but a wannabe Düsseldorf store with artificial shortages.

It was pretty empty for an evening after a city festival, a few more people would have really done the shop good, unfortunately they were often not even allowed in.

We want to go to the store after the market festival in Gräfrath. A bouncer (for whatever reason) told us there were 10 people (5 men and 5 women). Not today. Even though you were there for 5 hours the day before. Not today... and you look through the window. The shop is completely empty. You've never experienced anything like this, especially at the market festival. Waiter cool. Tumbler (for whatever reason for an empty shop) doesn't. No recommendation!!!!!

In my opinion the best, coziest pub I know. Mega great staff. Here you are warmly greeted and you immediately feel welcome. Also compliments to the kitchen, always delicious 😋

Little home away from home! Loving guest house in British style. A small Rosamunde Pilcher pub with a cute guesthouse in beautiful surroundings. Great attentive hosts and family atmosphere. Good atmosphere, great cleanliness and attention to detail!

Hello Gabi and I (67+66 years old) were guests at The Cornish Arms during a bike tour from April 12th - 13th, 2024. It was excellent. The hotel and pub are protected monuments and have been beautifully decorated by Susi + Klaus with a lot of love and numerous details. Not only did we sleep very well, but we were also able to enjoy the delicious beers and great food in the pub. Plus a full breakfast in the morning, we were happy to get to know you and your houses. We booked two guest rooms at the Cornish Arms. The authentic atmosphere, the good food and the friendly team turned a boring business trip into a cool trip that you will remember fondly.

Guinness alone doesn't make an Irish pub. For me, the place is clearly German.

Der Irish Pub im historischen Fachwerkhaus besitzt einen ganz eigenen Charme. Besitzer und Angestellte sind immer nett zu uns gewesen - wir waren immerhin mehr als 20 Personen. Was musste niemals jemand lange auf Getränke warten. Wenn am Buffet etwas sich dem Ende zuneigte, war ganz schnell wieder etwas da. ... Und: es war zu köstlich - ich konnte einfach nicht mehr aufhören zu essen. Ich für meinen Teil habe seit langem einen der schönsten Abende hier verbracht . Ich kann "the Cornish Arms" nur empfehlen. Als regelmäßige Gäste im diesem wunderbaren Pub haben wir letztes Wochenende nach einem ausgesprochen lustigen und gemütlichen Abend auch im Bed & Breakfast übernachtet. Es ist ja ein bisschen verrückt, wenn man in Solingen wohnt, aber jetzt wissen wir was wir absolut weiter empfehlen können. Die Zimmer sind, nein, eigentlich das ganze Haus ist, sooooo liebevoll restauriert und eingerichtet … einfach nur zum Wohlfühlen !!! Lieber Klaus, liebe Susi, da habt ihr mit Herz und Seele für eure Gäste wieder einmal etwas Phantastisches geschaffen. 🫶
