The Copper Pot - Köln in Köln

Great Irish bar, Alex behind the bar was Irish and gave great service, Guinness very well poured and went down nicely. Good tunes too, well worth a trip when in Köln.

As usual to early for music but the barmaid was good craic

Every now and then I visit a good friend in Cologne. When I'm there, of course we'll go to 'The Copper Pot'. Food: The peanuts are A1 :-) Service: We then wash it down with the much better and friendly tapped Guinness. Boy, there's nothing better! Ambiance: Fits too. However, a 1sqm² industrial fan would be good every now and then to exchange the air in the pub :-) In summary: A very cool shop!

Unfortunately there is only bagged peanuts to eat. But no problem, because there are many alternatives to fill up in the immediate vicinity of Heumarkt. The pub is rather small and therefore very cozy, especially on the ground floor. When live music is played the whole place rocks. There are very tasty house beers and the usual Irish beers here. We had a lovely evening. Recommended 😊

I've been to the Copper Pot 4 times now And I have nothing to criticize Very tasty drinks and very nice staff and audience The drinks on the menu could be a bit bigger. Small font. But fair prices A good idea to do karaoke on Wednesdays and live music every Friday! This ensures variety and a good mood. Can you also eat something on site?

Wonderful staff, great craic and good vibes all night long. Though my husband lost a good few of his shirt buttons here in a Karaoke incident (If you know, you know)... I hear if you find one, it's considered lucky.

Hello Jason. Very good live music...the waitress was very unfriendly from the start and we from the brigade at Gürzenich will think about whether we come back again. Especially since she pocketed the tip without asking. As a thank you, there was a ban on the house even though it was unfounded and she wasn't the owner either. Arrogant girl. Please be fair, it wasn't good, I hope it doesn't stay that way.

Very nice pub with great attention to detail

After my first (not so good) experience at the Copper Pot, I gave the pub two more chances and now give my final rating. In itself the Copper Pot is a small, authentic restaurant but: During the last visit there were no drink menus and there was no price for the drinks anywhere. The final price might as well have been a roll of the dice. For example, the price for the Berry Cider increased by 90 cents. How should you know about the price increase? There was no longer a drinks menu. In addition, when I paid, I was told that there was now a minimum consumption value. Not a problem in itself, but you have to mention it BEFORE ordering so that you still have the opportunity to leave the store. So I suddenly found myself faced with a fait accompli. The service was consistently nice, but the previous points should have been communicated before the order was placed. Unfortunately, the pub quiz is no longer recommended due to the terrible sound quality. Because the Game Master is difficult to understand. Even if the technology box was played around with a bit, the quality didn't improve. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Copper Pot and will avoid it in the future.

Great atmosphere, just like you would imagine an Irish pub to be. The third of us became aware of the pub by chance. The bartender was really nice and offered alternatives (in my case there was no Kilkenny, but I was offered a similar beer). A nightcap turned into 4 hours because it was just nice.

Didn’t enjoy. Staff were unfriendly with disinterested service which I may also get an unfriendly reply judging by other low star reviews here, drinks had a metallic taste to them and had to pay for a ticket to enter. Better ‘Irish’ pubs around unfortunately and won’t be back.

Small Irish pub in one of the most touristic parts of Cologne. Cozy and fun, with good beer and average prices. Service was good and the musician was amazing and made everybody sing with her. It was a nice evening.

Gemütlicher Irish Pub, mit sehr freundlichem Service und toller Live Musik! Update 02.12. etwa 2 Uhr: Schade, das war diesmal gar nicht schön, die Toiletten eine reine Katastrophe! Dann bezahlt man 6 Euro Mindestverzehr und bekommt Wertmarken, was ja total in Ordnung ist. Aber es wird einem nicht gesagt, das diese nur für bestimmtes Bier einzulösen sind. Über sowas sollte man vom arroganten Türsteher allerdings vorher informiert werden. Absolut nicht in Ordnung.

Gemütlicher Pub mit toller Live-Musik (z. B. Cameron!)

Nachdem wir eine größere Gruppe waren und alle was bestellten sind wir in den oberen Abteil des Lokals hinaufgegangen und haben hier dementsprechend miteinander geredet und zugegebenermaßen "Lautstark" gesungen. Daraufhin ist der Besitzer zu uns gekommen, hat uns Verbal beleidigt und uns gedroht uns rauszuschmeißen. Das haben wir uns nicht gefallen lassen und haben das Lokal einfach verlassen da es kein normaler Umgang mit Kunden ist.

Cosy little Irish pub with decent Guinness. Barman was super accommodating, charged our phones, offered tips of places to visit and kept the pints coming. Highly recommend.

Feine rockige Musikauswahl, gute Stimmung (vor allem zu späterer Stunde), Biere schmecken. Allerdings auch nichts außergewöhnliches und doch eher von Touristen "überlaufen", aber grundsätzlich ein solides Irish Pub.

Irish pub with one of the rudest barmen I've ever met. Absolutely packed as they had live music which was really good and certainly bringing in the crowds. Real shame as it seems like a nice place but the guy behind the bar didn't even have the basic concept of good manners or customer service, just plain rude. We didn't have more than one drink as we didn't like the lack of manners.

Habe schon bessere Pub's besucht. War nicht gut besucht (22:00) Uhr. Wollten aber ein Bier statt Kölsch trinken. Es kam niemand, so holten wir das Bier vom Tresen selbst an unseren Tisch. Naja, so ist es nicht einmal in Irland ...

Had a terrible experience today. Was told ‘cash only’. I asked if I can pay by card after getting drinks worth €20. The guy behind the counter was absolutely rude and said “don’t try to play games with me”. The last thing I want to do after a long, tiresome day is playing games with you, dude! A shame to the Irish pubs in the city. Avoid if you can.

A great craic! a lively atmosphere if you are watching the match or listening to the live music. The beer is very reasonable and the lad from Tipperary is a legend.

Make sure you have enough cash in your pocket because if you come as a visitor they will make you pay as much as they want before informing you that they only except card for a bill above 20€ and then play with you.

Drinks only experience for me. Had 2 great nights in here during my stay in koln. The small but spacious bar is a great place to catch a musical act or enjoy the pub quiz (helpfully in english for me) got chatting with some locals and some expats who live in koln now... A great place!

Sooo danke für einen gemütlichen Abend und für das interessante Quiz! Diese Bar ist cool, ganz gemütlich, das Guinnessbeer schmeckt da lecker :) Die Atmosphäre ist freundlich, sehr international. Ich bin zum Quizabend da gegangen und ich fand es wirklich spannend aber auch ziemlich schwierig xD Leider bieten sie hauptsächlich Getränke, nur wenige Snacks. Ich hoffe dass das sich irgendwann ändert :)
