Had menu #80.
Gyros was tender and crispy as it should be. Fries are golden yellow with a bite without being too firm. The garlic herbs could have had more garlic. Salad was colorful, not just coleslaw.
Service was very friendly, the ouzo was also offered.
Conclusion: I would like to come back.
Absolute disaster, waiting 1.5 hours for drinks is absolutely not possible. The meal took just as long. Ordered 3x coke which was always forgotten... Instead of processing orders, they instead made sure to fill empty tables. Several people around simply left because no orders were being processed. It's a shame, it was actually very nice here...
Highly recommended!
Really good food, excellent value for money, and very friendly service.
We had a small appetizer and the Athenian platter for two people. Despite our big appetites, we'll be taking the leftovers home tomorrow 😀
Very nice restaurant, nicely decorated. Very attentive service, the boss is also very polite. The food is very freshly made. It takes a little longer, but the quality definitely makes up for it, we'll be happy to come back.
The Greek restaurant Athos in Kelheim is a real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is located on the first floor and is barrier-free thanks to an elevator, which is a big plus, especially for guests with limited mobility.
The rooms are beautifully and lavishly restored, creating a pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The toilets are modern and very clean, which reinforces the overall positive impression.
The food is an absolute highlight: fresh, varied and simply delicious. Personally, I swear by the Sotirios platter, which is a taste experience every time. My companion always takes changing plates. Prices are reasonable and reflect the high quality of the food as well as today's costs.
Another plus point is the staff, who are always friendly, attentive and helpful. You feel welcome and in good hands from the first moment.
Conclusion: The Athos Restaurant is an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Greek cuisine in a beautiful ambience and with excellent service. I always like to come back!
Four of us were there yesterday, four adults and two children.
The food was delicious, piping hot, and plentiful.
The staff was very friendly.
We'll be back.
The Emmenlauer family
Fantastically beautiful ambience.
We were there with a group of 9 people. We had a nice place. The tables were lovingly prepared and decorated.
The map is clear but quite sufficient.
In terms of price, it is in the upper segment. Quality of the food is very good. Portions are quite reasonable. You'll definitely get fed up with it. Tastes very good.
The service that brought the food was friendly and attentive. The salads beforehand came in two separate occasions. The first time, two of us came away empty-handed.
The main course came 3 later. Among other things, a children's meal. It wasn't supposed to happen like that and was a little unfortunate.
In defense you have to say that the restaurant was full.
Last but not least, the drink prices… they were too high in my opinion. 9€ for an Aperol, for example, is already a proud price.
Unfortunately we were disappointed. 3 out of 4 dishes we ordered were not available. This also includes the vegetarian chicken, which makes up half of the veggie dishes. The liver plate was no longer available, but there were other dishes with liver? Didn't make sense to us. The Aperol Spritz was completely non-carbonated, the red wine tasted like it had been open for months. The breaded squid rings were limp and rubbery.
The steak, on the other hand, was okay, the tzatziki was tasty and the service was friendly.
Unfortunately it only felt like 19 degrees in the store, so I had to keep my jacket on.
Next time we will probably go somewhere else.
We ordered Olympia here today from the Greek restaurant and after about 2 hours I called to ask where the food was. The first employee then told me that you couldn't order via the new website. No notice or anything else on the website. Confirmation came via email and payment with Paypal went without any problems. I told him this too, but he wasn't really interested. The second employee was quite nice and apologized, but I wouldn't have called if we were still waiting.
Now after 2 1/2 hours the food was there and unfortunately the order came incorrectly (instead of stuffed pork fillet only the normal one) and was unfortunately very dry.
So conclusion for us, it was the last time we ordered here.
Even though we live in the List district, we receive deliveries. The food was good as always. It's a shame that there is no other branch in Vahrenwald/List. Hopefully we will continue to receive deliveries when we order
The food in the Takis Restaurant Hattingen, gyros and bifteki, was rich and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was also very friendly.
Addition on April 6th, 2025 - Today I ate the most delicious baked gyros with Metaxa sauce at the Takis Restaurant.
