For me the best fish restaurant in Hamburg. Food always tasty and fresh. The service is really very friendly and attentive. Portion size is great and the price is very fair. Side dishes and bread/salad included in advance. Great value for money. I always like to eat the whole sea bream from the grill here, super crispy skin and delicious, juicy fish meat. The Pauli Mix or the fish fillets and the tuna steak are also great. Cozy Pauli atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Upon entering the restaurant, you're immediately struck by the stylish and modern ambiance, which is both cozy and inviting. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant – perfect for special occasions as well as a casual dinner with friends or colleagues. The service was absolutely first-class: attentive, friendly, and well-organized – even for our large group. Our requests were met quickly and professionally without feeling rushed or impersonal. The food was a real highlight: fresh, creatively prepared, and of the highest quality. We were particularly impressed by the variety of the offerings – there's something for everyone here, whether you're a fish lover, meat lover, or vegetarian. The dishes are not only delicious, but also a visual delight. In conclusion: Waterkant is a clear recommendation for anyone who values ​​excellent food, first-class service, and a stylish ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Wir waren zu fünft zum Essen, haben für 5 Personen Sushi bestellt. Leider mussten wir ingesamt 90 Minuten auf das Essen warten. Wir bekamen in der langen Wartezeit nicht einmal Brot! Darauf angesprochen hielt die Serviceleitung eine Entschuldigung für nicht nötig. Die als Wiedergutmachung zum Espresso angebotene Flasche Wein war da eher ein unbeholfener Entschuldigungsversuch, den wir dankend abgelehnt haben. Ingesamt wirkte der Service selbstverliebt und unaufmerksam. Wir werden uns für unsere abendlichen Geschäftsessen einen anderen Ort suchen, auch wenn das Essen sehr gut war.

The ambiance could use some work. It's a bit chilly and uncomfortable. The staff is so friendly, something I've rarely experienced. Not only friendly, but also fast and service-oriented. I had the plaice. It was preceded by a delicious salad and tasty bread with dips, which I enjoyed. The grilled plaice arrived quickly with potatoes and vegetables. The potatoes and vegetables were very seasoned. I liked the potatoes, but the vegetables weren't. Unfortunately, my plaice wasn't that great. As a Bremerhaven native, I'm used to fresher food. But it was definitely NOT spoiled or anything! When I mentioned that I'd had fresher plaice before and was semi-satisfied, the employee apologized and brought me something else to eat, which was very tasty, and a shot. My companion had sole and was very satisfied. I tried it there too; it was truly excellent! All in all, I would come back and would recommend it.

Always worth a visit. Fish sandwiches and beer - typical food for tourists at the landing stage. Price-performance ratio is ok. Highly recommended.

Ich habe bereits viele hochrenommierte Restaurants besucht und muss leider sagen, dass dieses Restaurant meiner Meinung nach keinen Michelin-Stern verdient. Es wirkt eher wie ein reines Touristenrestaurant am Hafen. Ich hatte kürzlich die Gelegenheit, das Sharing-Menü in diesem Michelin-Restaurant zu probieren. Der Preis von 79 Euro für das Menü ist zunächst ansprechend, da er für zwei Personen gedacht ist. Allerdings war ich überrascht, dass die Gesamtrechnung am Ende bei 178 Euro lag, was ich für ein Sharing-Menü in einem so renommierten Restaurant als recht hoch empfinde. Ein weiterer Punkt, der mir nicht gefallen hat, war, dass wir die Portionen selbst auf die Teller teilen mussten. In einem Michelin-Restaurant hätte ich erwartet, dass dies professionell serviert wird. Das hat das Erlebnis für mich etwas getrübt. Insgesamt war das Essen geschmacklich relativ gut, aber die Preisgestaltung und der Service beim Teilen der Portionen könnten definitiv verbessert werden. Ich hoffe, dass das Restaurant in Zukunft an diesen Punkten arbeitet.

The shop is supposedly under renovation but I think the owners have finally closed the shop. All I can say is that the food was always good and the service was unfortunately not very busy, which unfortunately had a negative impact on the store. It's a shame you're gone now

The restaurant's location is the best thing about this business. We sat outside in the perfect weather to have a drink. The waiter threw our cards on the table and left. What's shocking: no card payments accepted. It's written on the sign on the door. If you come in from the other side, you have no chance of reading the notice. Sad but true in the 21st century.

Definitely the worst fish sandwiches I have ever eaten! After my order of three different fish sandwiches was packed, I was informed that card payment was not possible. But since I was so keen on the fish sandwiches, I quickly ran to the bank to get money. After I got back, I was ignored by the super unfriendly staff until I showed the money. Then the rolls were thrown at me in annoyance. There is no classic vocabulary or politeness here - no hello, goodbye or thank you. Well, I didn't want to let that spoil my mood. But then it cracked when I tried the rolls: the rolls themselves were bone dry, the fish was anything but fresh and tasty! All three rolls tasted like old, stale, cheap fish and shortly after eating I got a stomach ache... I'm excited to see what the next few hours will bring. Definitely the worst fish sandwiches I have ever eaten!
