Food comes in large quantities and is fine. Unfortunately a large portion of the menu is made of farmed fish from the over side of the world. Makes one wonder if the whole menu is not made of farmed fishes which is rather disappointing from a fish restaurant in a harbour city. The service is friendly. Place was very busy a Tuesday evening.

After a long period of closure (one, maybe even several years, we don't know exactly), this culinary fixture has finally opened its doors again. And I can say with a clear conscience: the return was worth it. For me, what is served here is, without exaggeration, one of the best fish dishes you can find in Hamburg - fresh, perfectly prepared and with a fine sense of quality. The staff is attentive, warm and professional - service at eye level, as you would expect. The restaurant itself has expanded significantly and has lost none of its charm. Quite the opposite: The new openness creates space for enjoyment and conversation - and the view of the Hamburg Bunker opposite gives the place a special atmosphere between urban pulse and maritime serenity. Karo Fish is a piece of Hamburg's culinary culture - honest, healthy and full of taste. If you love good fish, don't come here. And I don't want to either.

Everything was good but I gave it 4 stars because it's quite expensive and especially when you want to add just additional meat but you have to pay the whole plate price for the additional..

Small but nice and an absolute recommendation. The shop has a very clear menu, but everything is freshly prepared in front of the guests. Taste fantastic. The atmosphere is quite simple, but very clean (including the toilets). Card payment possible. 10 out of 10 👍.

It's a famous and only fish place in the area of Feldstraße Schanze. Fisch is fresh though it's too crowded and sitting is tight. Hard to talk among each other at a table. They use too much oil and it's pretty hard to get noticed by the waiters. One time try is recommended.

Food: Karomix plate was a pitifully small portion dripping with fat and stinginess, for €27(!) Service: bad-tempered, overwhelmed guy, couldn't wait until we left. Ambience: old gossiping Botox aunts who never stopped smoking. Fat and smoke. I ate that, I've been sick for 2 hours!

Food was very tasty and plentiful. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a snack bar than a restaurant. It was very, very busy there, but we were still served quickly.

Starter (garlic baguette with 3 dips) was a great start. I ate the trout with chips. It was tasty, but unfortunately grilled very oily. The boss was very accommodating and I am sure that this will be taken into account immediately the next time we visit and point out less oil. At the end, we were very pleased to receive a mocha on the house. I'd love to come back.

I can only recommend delicious fish dishes. I've never been able to get used to it, but if you're in Hamburg and want to eat good fish, this is the place for you. The pollack was really good. I think it's fair for the price because it comes with a salad and dips. And thank you very much for offering whole 0.33 glass bottles of drinks at normal prices instead of small 0.2 bottles. Important. The fried potatoes were good, but the chips were definitely better. I don't know the prices for fish dishes where others do, but if you want good food, I can only recommend it

The ambience needs some work. It's a bit cold and uncomfortable. The staff is so friendly, I have rarely experienced this. Not only friendly but also fast and service -oriented. I had the plaice. Beforehand there was a delicious salad and delicious bread with dips, which I enjoyed. The grill with potatoes and vegetables quickly came. The potatoes and vegetables had a very dominant spice. With the potatoes it tasted to me, it wasn't my case on the vegetables. Unfortunately my plaice wasn't that great. As a Bremerhaven native, I'm used to more freshness. But it was definitely not spoiled or anything else! When I commented that I had already had fresher plaice and was semi-satisfied, the employee apologized and brought me something else to eat, which was very tasty and a short one. My companion had a sole and was very satisfied. I tried it there too, it was really excellent! All in all, I would come back and also make a recommendation.

The fish was really fresh and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were just ok. What I found really bad was that the strip of vegetables also contained celery, which was not advertised anywhere. In addition, the celery overpowers the taste of the other vegetables, so I couldn't eat any vegetables at all. :( The fresh bread with the 3 dips was great. That was delicious. There was also a small salad as a starter.

Karofisch is located on Feldstraße, directly opposite the now-greened bunker and the Heligengeistfeld, a two-minute walk from the Feldstraße subway station and about a ten-minute walk from the Schanzenviertel. It's a currently very popular fish snack bar with a few tables inside and outside on the street. The menu is short, featuring a variety of fresh fish, always served with a small mixed salad, garlic bread, mixed grilled vegetables, baked potatoes, fried potatoes, or chips, and three sauces (herb remoulade, garlic sauce, and cocktail sauce). They also offer fish and chips, fish on bread, a few cold drinks, and simple wines by the glass. The quality of the food is very good, the prices are completely reasonable, and the atmosphere is lively and authentic. I'd happily return.

A good, small fish bistro. I had the fish soup and the Karo fish platter with fried potatoes. The fish soup gets a full 5 stars – very tasty! The fish was fresh, but could have been more for the price. The side dishes (carrot and leek) were crisp, and the three sauces were also very good. All in all, I can recommend this place if you don't have high expectations regarding service and ambiance. The food is really good 👍

Fried fish from the freezer doesn't work at all. Fried potatoes lukewarm with onions, unfortunately also inedible. It's better to eat really fresh fried fish in the Veddel fish restaurant or grab fresh fish in the restaurant! Friendly, fast service... atmosphere a la fast food.

Einfach, aber saugut! Und ein exzellenter Service noch dazu! Klsr, Du kriegst anderswo viel 'schickeren' Fisch, aber eben nicht notwendigerweise besseren... Schon beim Reinkommen kannst Du in der Auslage den rohen Fisch begutachten (und bei Bedarf gleich den richtigen aussuchen). Eine breite Auswahl an Fisch, entweder ganz oder nur das Filet, wird gegrillt serviert. Calamaris oder Garnelen wahlweise gegrillt oder aus der Pfanne. Die Portionen sind üppig - Vorsicht bei den Vorspeisen...;) Rundum empfehlenswert!

We became aware of this restaurant through all the positive reviews and Instagram posts and were not disappointed with the food. The Karo Mix Platter offers a nice selection of fish and seafood at a reasonable price. Top and a recommendation. Now to the negative: Unfortunately, this restaurant does not serve warm drinks, which is particularly unfortunate given the current temperatures. The volume of the music was just acceptable for me as a guest, as was the cleanliness of the table. So if you want to go out for a delicious meal and are prepared to make compromises, you're in good hands here.

Fresh, crispy fish in a simple ambience, a relaxed atmosphere and an informal audience. The fish and the leek/carrot grilled vegetables are great, the fried potatoes dressed with tomato sauce are more mushy than crispy, and the taste is unusual but interesting. French fries well seasoned with paprika. Salad plates dressed with vinegar/oil and garlic bread were served with the meal by the quick, careful and warm service staff. Location vs. green bunker. Parking to the right of the bunker in the Rindermarkthalle.
