Karo Fisch in Hamburg

Ich benötigte eine Toilette und fragte im Lokal ob ich diese nutzen dürfte, was bejaht wurde und legte einen Euro auf den Tresen. Die Annahme des Euros wurde verweigert. Das Lokal / Toilette machte einen sehr sauberen Eindruck. Nachdem wir den gegen- über liegenden Bunker besucht hatten, gingen wir zum Essen in das Lokal. Meine Frau bestellte Lengfisch, dazu gab es Salat und Knoblauchbrot, ich verzehrte eine Fisch-suppe. Der geforderte Preis war für die sehr gute Qualität als niedrig zu einzustufen. Wir wurden, trotz vieler Kunden sehr schnell und gut bedient. Die Mannschaft arbeitet Hand in Hand und man den Eindruck, dass es sich um eine Familie handelt, was aber nicht der Fall ist. Ich hatte an diesem Standort nicht mit einem so guten Restaurant gerechnet.

Was soll ich sagen- wir sind begeistert! Waren heute Abend ( Sonntags nach St.Pauli Spiel) bei Karofisch. Es war richtig viel los. TROTZDEM: Personal, Chefin super lieb und entspannt- freundlich, zuvorkommend. Beratung toll! Essen SUPER!! Es war ein toller Abend im Kiez! Vielen Dank ans Team!! Alles Gute für Euch!👌

Lively, great value fish restaurant located opposite the new Reverb hotel. We went two nights running we were so impressed by the quality of the food. You can’t book but we didn’t have to wait long for a table. Highly recommended.

Well prepared and delicious food for reasonable prices. Whole fish that we ordered was fresh and grilled to perfection. Though Brat Kartofel was not truly authentic. They added paprika to give it an appearance of fried potatoes that only comes sautéeing slowly over low heat. Overall a satisfying experience

Great seafood restaurant Imbiss! We ordered a Fischmix and both of us were full. In addition to the fish plate, it also included a salad and buttery herb bread, which was very generous. The fish (a salmon steak, two small white hairtail steaks, and two sole (?) steaks) were also fresh and delicious. The only drawback was that the fried vegetables were a bit greasy. But the price and the fresh and value-for-money portions are great! The waiters are very diligent and kind, and I feel good. Sehr nettes Restaurant, Fisch sind frisch, lecker und mit guter Portion. Preiswertleistung sehr gut! Menü ist in 06/24.

I recommend this restaurant powerfully. Highly recommended.. If you go when it opens at 12 o'clock, you can eat without waiting. I mixed it myself and I think it makes about 1.3 servings. They give you garlic bread and a salad, and it's really delicious. The main grilled fish was seasoned really well and there were plenty of potatoes so I was really full! Oh, you don't get water, so you have to pay, but it's a bit expensive. The staff is very friendly, has an English menu, and takes good care of you. Anything over 20 euros can be paid by credit card, but a tip is added. There is egg, but I enjoyed it so much that I paid 10%. I highly recommend it!

Illegally delicious. Share a Karomix and anything from grill - it’s awesome. Those Bratkartoffeln and veggies are amazing as well.

Rarely have I eaten such good fish! The bread that goes with the fish is also unbeatable. Price performance is definitely very good here. Food comes to the table super quickly and the raw fish is available when you come in.

It was one of the best sea bass I've ever eaten. Shrimps and potatoes with sauce are incredibly delicious. You should definitely come. The employees are also very friendly and caring.

This is a high speed fry/grilled seafood. Did was okay but too salty for me. My main problem was I felt anxious and rushed and not relaxed. Cash only... no credit or debit cards. The workers are all nice... nothing against them.

The fish in the bread was very tasty. Juicy, with great vegetables and great bread. It reminded us of a kebab, only with fish. The price, which seemed expensive at first, was worth it :) We'll be happy to come back!

We had fish dinner at Karo. The restaurant was very busy. Food was picked up and served quickly. Since the location is quite small, the noise level was high. The service staff was too few, at least that evening. We had to tell them twice that we wanted to pay and requests like extra dip were ignored. Everything tasted great and there was plenty of it too.

Super tasty fish and a fairly large selection of species. You can choose your own side dish, but the chips are highly recommended. Even the fish and chips here taste like fish and not like fish fingers.

This is a fish food specialty store. The store is not very big, but the environment is clean and tidy. The service staff are very friendly and helped us prepare an English menu. There are various fish and seafood dishes. We ordered the Karo platter and the seafood platter, which have garlic flavor. Toasts and salads, the platters are quite generous, and there are a variety of drinks to choose from. We ordered local beer from Hamburg, which was pretty good. There is free Wi-Fi in the store, but please note that you can only pay in cash, and the prices are the latest. There has been an increase, but overall the price is quite affordable, so give it a try if you have the chance.

I absolutely loved this place! The food is fresh, the nice salad and bread they give you at the beginning. The staff is friendly. I forgot my wallet (bc they just receive cash) but they were really nice and I came back later to pay. Totally recommend the place!

Super tasty and served quickly. I had sea bass, which was grilled very tasty. I also found the fried anchovies very tasty, but for a few anchovies at €18.90 they were way too expensive. Unfortunately, fried fish and the like come straight from the freezer. The breaded shrimp were thrown straight from the Metro package into the fry. A little bit of in-house production would certainly be nice. All in all, a nice shop with a few catches and, if you order the right thing, very tasty!

An absolute highlight for fish lovers!!! Such great fish to choose from, so tasty, so perfectly prepared... it couldn't be better. 👍🏻 We had the Karomix and it was immediately possible to change the fish as we don't like salmon that much. Really good! Many restaurants have a hard time with this - here it is a matter of course that what the guest wants is served on the plate. The vegetables go perfectly with the fish and you can choose between different versions of the potato side dish, all of which look very tasty and certainly all taste the same. There are also dips that are really great and first of all a small salad and homemade garlic bread. Overall, an absolutely well-rounded affair. The service was great, but there are a few deductions from the B grade for the ambience, because it has more of a rustic snack bar charm. But that doesn't detract from the food at all. Just know that the priority here is not on chic, but on really good food. And that with a more than fair price-performance ratio. Thank you for this experience and the sensational dinner. We'll definitely be back. 😊

I'm giving this a 1 star. Simply because I was recommended this place, I walked for miles to find it and then the man serving tried to male me buy a €30 mixed plate when I asked for a simple fish sandwich. I did not eat and left. I dont appreciate people trying to cheat people. As such I would say avoid. Oh its cash only. I'm posting a picture I took outside in case anyone tries saying I did not visit.

The fish is fresh and of slightly above average quality. However, I find the side dishes disappointing; contrary to North German tradition, the fried potatoes were served without bacon and potato salad was not offered, Labskaus and herring were also missing. This is disappointing for a fish restaurant in Hamburg. The vegetables consisted of carrots in strips which were ok but not convincing. The range of drinks is good and appropriate to the food on offer. However, safe gluten-freedom does not seem to be guaranteed; nothing corresponding was shown or offered on the menu, which is no longer up-to-date. The prices for the smaller dishes were good and cheap, but for the larger dishes they were a bit overpriced, although not dramatically so. But overall, 35 euros for a small dish and a large one with drinks seems excessive.

Best fish in Hamburg. The fish comes fresh from the counter onto the grill. There is a starter salad and garlic baguette on the house. The sauces for the fish are also great. The fish was excellent and the side dishes were very tasty. The owners are on site and can't be beaten in terms of hospitality. The prices are also very fair. Everyone was thrilled and we would love to come back! :)
