Nice friendly service good food at a good price

The ambiance could use some work. It's a bit chilly and uncomfortable. The staff is so friendly, something I've rarely experienced. Not only friendly, but also fast and service-oriented. I had the plaice. It was preceded by a delicious salad and tasty bread with dips, which I enjoyed. The grilled plaice arrived quickly with potatoes and vegetables. The potatoes and vegetables were very seasoned. I liked the potatoes, but the vegetables weren't. Unfortunately, my plaice wasn't that great. As a Bremerhaven native, I'm used to fresher food. But it was definitely NOT spoiled or anything! When I mentioned that I'd had fresher plaice before and was semi-satisfied, the employee apologized and brought me something else to eat, which was very tasty, and a shot. My companion had sole and was very satisfied. I tried it there too; it was truly excellent! All in all, I would come back and would recommend it.

The fish was really fresh and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were just ok. What I found really bad was that the strip of vegetables also contained celery, which was not advertised anywhere. In addition, the celery overpowers the taste of the other vegetables, so I couldn't eat any vegetables at all. :( The fresh bread with the 3 dips was great. That was delicious. There was also a small salad as a starter.

Karofisch is located on Feldstraße, directly opposite the now-greened bunker and the Heligengeistfeld, a two-minute walk from the Feldstraße subway station and about a ten-minute walk from the Schanzenviertel. It's a currently very popular fish snack bar with a few tables inside and outside on the street. The menu is short, featuring a variety of fresh fish, always served with a small mixed salad, garlic bread, mixed grilled vegetables, baked potatoes, fried potatoes, or chips, and three sauces (herb remoulade, garlic sauce, and cocktail sauce). They also offer fish and chips, fish on bread, a few cold drinks, and simple wines by the glass. The quality of the food is very good, the prices are completely reasonable, and the atmosphere is lively and authentic. I'd happily go back.

A good, small fish bistro. I had the fish soup and the Karo fish platter with fried potatoes. The fish soup gets a full 5 stars – very tasty! The fish was fresh, but could have been more for the price. The side dishes (carrot and leek) were crisp, and the three sauces were also very good. All in all, I can recommend this place if you don't have high expectations regarding service and ambiance. The food is really good 👍

The best place to try out different varieties of fishes. It is always crowded but definitely worth it. Everything is fresh and without so many strange sauces which is my preference when it comes to fish. Definitely recommend

Fried fish from the freezer doesn't work at all. Fried potatoes lukewarm with onions, unfortunately also inedible. It's better to eat really fresh fried fish in the Veddel fish restaurant or grab fresh fish in the restaurant! Friendly, fast service... atmosphere a la fast food.

Einfach, aber saugut! Und ein exzellenter Service noch dazu! Klsr, Du kriegst anderswo viel 'schickeren' Fisch, aber eben nicht notwendigerweise besseren... Schon beim Reinkommen kannst Du in der Auslage den rohen Fisch begutachten (und bei Bedarf gleich den richtigen aussuchen). Eine breite Auswahl an Fisch, entweder ganz oder nur das Filet, wird gegrillt serviert. Calamaris oder Garnelen wahlweise gegrillt oder aus der Pfanne. Die Portionen sind üppig - Vorsicht bei den Vorspeisen...;) Rundum empfehlenswert!

We became aware of this restaurant through all the positive reviews and Instagram posts and were not disappointed with the food. The Karo Mix Platter offers a nice selection of fish and seafood at a reasonable price. Top and a recommendation. Now to the negative: Unfortunately, this restaurant does not serve warm drinks, which is particularly unfortunate given the current temperatures. The volume of the music was just acceptable for me as a guest, as was the cleanliness of the table. So if you want to go out for a delicious meal and are prepared to make compromises, you're in good hands here.

I go to Hamburg once a year and dinner at Karo Fisch is always a must. 🥰 the food is super fresh and delicious, the staff is courteous and very nice. Please keep it up so I can come visit you for the next 10 years.

Fresh, crispy fish in a simple ambience, a relaxed atmosphere and an informal audience. The fish and the leek/carrot grilled vegetables are great, the fried potatoes dressed with tomato sauce are more mushy than crispy, and the taste is unusual but interesting. French fries well seasoned with paprika. Salad plates dressed with vinegar/oil and garlic bread were served with the meal by the quick, careful and warm service staff. Location vs. green bunker. Parking to the right of the bunker in the Rindermarkthalle.

Food was great. Nothing too fancy but pretty alright. Service was very good. We even got an english menu aswell.

The food is top. The staff is friendly but they look very stressed due to the large number of guests. There isn't much space between the tables. It is also more pleasant at times when there is less going on.

Nice little shop opposite the bunker. We wanted to have a quick fish sandwich before the football game and we weren't disappointed. Super fast service and the fried fish roll was very good. Lemon included, fresh vegetables and delicious fish. Definitely a recommendation.

Toll, dass Karo Fisch nach Umbau wieder auf hat! Das kleine Fischrestaurant, das eher ein Fischimbiss oder Bistro ist, ist wirklich ein gastronomisches Kleinod! Zu Preisen, die weit unter denen der guten Fischrestaurants liegen, bekommt man aber eine Frische und Qualität, die mit den besten Fischrestaurants mithalten kann. Kein Wunder, dass man manchmal auf einen Tisch warten muss. Es gibt zahlreiche Fischsorten, jeweils mit einem leckeren Salat, Grillgemüse, Bratksrtoffeln oder Grillkartoffeln, drei Dips und Kräuter-Knoblauchbrot. Der Service ist schnell und sehr freundlich. Eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

If you want to eat delicious fish, this is the right place for you. The tables are close together and you have the feeling of sitting in a market hall. Not recommended for a romantic dinner more for great hunger on fish!

We live in Bremen, on 27.12.2024, we went with my sister, my nephews, their wives and children from Frankfurt, upon recommendation, the flavors, our taste buds & the service were excellent, the portions satisfied us all, we were very pleased, it was simply amazing, we returned very satisfied. The fish is so fresh and the preparation is delightful. Good portions too. Good location, service and since it's a Turkish establishment, they serve Turkish coffee that is not on the menu and is as perfect as the meal and believe me you will need it after eating all of it, like I did! The fish soup was very good, Great taste and really great fish and vegetable addition. The fried fish, however, was industrially pre-prepared and tasteless and the fried potatoes had as much to do with fried potatoes as a car has to do with a sailing ship. Soggy, not a bit crispy, no flavor. But you could tell from the taste that it was potatoes. For me, this was the most tasteless fried fish menu in Hamburg. This is not a place where you can sit and relax. You have 10 minutes for everything, and then the waiters stand over you like black crows, hinting that it's time to go. The last visit is completely horrible....I am still sitting with a fork and eating the ordered dish, when the waiter comes and starts cleaning everything from the table, while taking the plate with food from under my nose🤦‍♀️ Turning to the senior with a remark and at least some explanation, I only got the answer: what was he supposed to do, we have people waiting.... At the same time, this attitude was not only to our table, but also to the neighboring ones!!!! You shouldn't go there with children at all, otherwise they have to sit like statues, not move, not talk and not go to the toilet And what is most terrible, here you are treated depending on which country you came from... I do not recommend this place to anyone!!!!! This is HORROR

I can't quite understand the hype for this place. Of course I liked eating there because of the reviews; I love good fish dishes. But I don't quite find that here. The fried potatoes I chose were ok. And the fish was unfortunately too fatty and simply fried to death. In fact, I have to agree with another customer: more of a Turkish-style fish snack bar. It was a worthwhile experience for me. And everyone has different requirements.
