Very small portions and way too expensive! A big birthday, fun ordering a special meal for the family. The service was intrusive, you felt a bit like you were in the Robinson Club, with an entertainer from the eighties... Unnecessary and pointless! The good news: the food was really good. BUT: the portions are tiny, 88 euros for the Surf @ Turf that you see here. This is for 2 people. overall and in retrospect a disgrace. We definitely won't be coming back.

The on-site team is professional, friendly and solution-oriented, which makes working together very pleasant. Food, service and facilities are of a super high standard. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not quite right. But definitely delicious food in extremely meager portions. The service is nice and competent, but after two hours the table is "automatically" refilled and you have to make room. Unromantic.

I was invited to a celebration there yesterday. I really loved the location. The employees were consistently friendly and professional, the wine glass was practically never empty 😉 The meal was a highlight, the pasta tossed in(!) cheese and a heavenly truffle sauce, absolutely fantastic. I couldn't really enjoy the view of the harbor because I was leaning over my plate, but it looked great.

Everything is just right here! I don't know of any restaurant in Hamburg and the surrounding area where the food + service + ambience is so harmonious. Thank you for another perfect evening.

For a birthday we ventured beyond our usual restaurant favorites. And to be honest, we regretted it a bit. That evening we had five different service staff, which unfortunately meant that orders were not taken properly or did not come at all. All in all, the team seemed very stressed and uncoordinated. For example, a third of our cocktails were found on the waitress's tray, and an appetizer was cold. The food itself was excellent. The menu includes a great selection of fish and meat, and vegetarians also get their money's worth. The location is very loud, but modernly furnished. Overall we wouldn't venture there again.

We came for a business lunch and were the last guests to go home. That says it all, right? We ate great fish dishes, were recommended delicious wine, had a very good espresso martini for dessert and had very good conversations with a wonderful view. The staff was attentive and trained, a rarity in many places ;-) Thank you for a great ambience and a great dinner!

Simply fantastic!!! From the delicious, imaginative dishes to the extremely friendly service, nothing was left to be desired. The ambience - we sat on the terrace (there is also a heater) - was unbeatable and of course the loving atmosphere. So 5 stars plus!!!!! Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful evening.

Were there for the company party. Loud music, there weren't enough seats for the many people. Tasty food, which was often all.

Prenotato su the fork arriviamo con una mezz'oretta di anticipo ma immediatamente ci portano al tavolo sulla terrazza con vista del porto di Amburgo. Ottima la preparazione alla cena con crostini e delicatessen dello chef. Piatti ben preparati e ben serviti. Spettacolare la bouillabaisse..i nostri 2 bambini trattati da principi con piccoli giochi da tavolo o gelato finale anche se non richiesto..ma molto gradito. Conto ai limiti superiori ma adeguato al servizio e al menu

We have very much enjoyed our dinner at ‘Am Kai’. With a beautiful summer evening and outside heating provided later in the evening, this modern, trendy and chic restaurant provided a great atmosphere. The terrace is viewing the river Elbe and the harbor of Hamburg. Food was absolutely delicious! Style and taste are modern, surprising and every moment pleasing. We ordered (family style) swordfish ceviche and beef tartar followed by ravioli topped with truffle. As a main we shared the seafood platter with some sides. We loved their wine and champagne recommendation. Service was outstandingly friendly, a nice touch of a personal note included with all recommendations hitting our taste. All in all, this trendy chic location, quality of seafood and fish combined with the lovely service, it is now one of our top favorite restaurants in Hamburg!

Chic restaurant. Kitchen OK. The North Sole and Surf'n Turf weren't a challenge either. The fact that the waiter destroyed a third of the sole when it was served hurt me as much for the fish as the fact that the unspectacular ribeye was carved more than 5 minutes before serving. The way it is served, it can also be carved at the table. Not being able to get fish cutlery for a fish like northern sole borders on ignorance. Today, paying 8 euros for a carafe of tap water is called profit maximization. The SchickiMicki audience there doesn't notice. It was a lovely evening with the usual, and unexpected for the place, downlights of today's gastronomy.

Feine Küche in coolem Ambiente in einem Gewerbekomplex im alten Fischereihafen mit Sicht auf den Hafen und markante Architektur. Wir hatten das Sharing Menü in 4 Gängen mit jeweils mehreren Speisen. Es war insgesamt sehr gut, wenn auch von der Menge her eher ein bisschen zu viel. Dies auch, weil wir zu Beginn von der sehr guten Brotauswahl alle gekostet hatten…

Top fine dining with relaxed service and beautiful plates with lots of taste. Wine list could be improved, but that's just my taste. You're sure to find what you're looking for.

Es war wieder einmal super. Aromen und Gewürze gut eingesetzt. Was uns zum ersten Male nicht so gefallen hat, waren die verhältnismäßig kleinen Portionen. So hätte ich bei meinen Pulpo Arm für einige zig Euro eine wesentlich größere Portion erwartet. Auch andere Gäste bemängelten die kleinen Portionen. Das kannten wir bislang nicht so in diesem Restaurant. Wir werden mal überlegen, ob wir überhaupt dort wieder speisen. Im Moment gibt es aus diesem Grunde nur eine beschränkte Weiterempfehlung.

We didn’t know what to expect but after reading the reviews we wanted to try this restaurant. The food was sensational- we opted for the sharing menu and it was wonderful. Thankfully we didn’t have lunch beforehand so we could saviour every morsel. The service was also outstanding. Would highly recommend a dining experience here if you’re in Hamburg. We will definitely return

Food that definitely doesn't do justice to the price. We were in Hamburg for a long weekend and can say that you can eat much better here for significantly less money! It was my son's birthday and he wanted to experience something nice and have a delicious meal. That was the opposite. My son and the gesture were very disappointed. Unfortunately, we can't recommend the restaurant at all and feel like we've been ripped off :(

Everything just fits together very well here. Quality of the food, the service and the ambience. You rarely find that in Hamburg anymore.

Overall the restaurant is good, but the dishes have too much sauce, and they are also very cloying, it is difficult to understand how fresh the fish is. I didn't like the cappuccino. The dessert is not bad.

Beautiful view, courteous service, great food!

The food was excellent. There was blips in the service. The water we ordered was forgotten. He forgot to ask about wine/beer. The starters came in long before we were done with the apertifs. Most of all, my wife got the wrong starter - and it contained apple so she got a fairly bad allergic reaction. I believe I heard the waiter saying the dessert was in the house due to that incident, but it was on the bill. At that time we just paid and left. Would like to highlight the young waitress, she was excellent. She was showing real care!!!

The restaurant is larger than expected, the terrace with a view of the container port and the still impressive dockland is outstanding, the food with a focus on seafood is impeccable, but not star-rated. The price-performance ratio is okay, €75 per person for the sundowner for 2 with a bottle of white wine, water and a seafood platter was reasonable. Rather upscale cuisine, unpretentious, solid and good without any great need for innovation or excessive creativity. Bien comestible, gladly again.

We drove from Bremen to Hamburg especially for the great location. A special kind of taste experience. Incredibly creative and sensational cuisine. I can only recommend the Küchenmeisterei to anyone who is in the area. We had a perfect evening. There was absolutely nothing to improve. We will be back!

I had an amazing experience at this place. The location is great for a beautiful view of the river. I can with colleagues after OMR on Tuesday early this week. Group of 8ppl approx. Only challenge is that i don’t eat any seafood. However, that shouldn’t put anyone away. I had probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in Hamburg - their Entrecôte in the menu. Tasty, just and great quality meat. Also the cauliflower to complement the meal. And a glass of Spanish wine. The service was superb, and they tried to accommodate and help with my restrictions. Highly recommend this place based on my experience experience. My colleagues talked very positively about the seafood, but that one i can’t say anything.
