Hamburg, a world city – dining at the famous Landungsbrücken – at today's typical prices, you can easily spend €100 – BUT: NO card payment possible, you're sent to an ATM. Absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful for a tourist city. SHAME ABOUT YOU, HAMBURG!!

The service was extremely unfriendly. We decided against ordering the food.

The prices on the menu are incredibly high and don't reflect the value for money. The children's meal cost €11.50, and ketchup was charged at an additional €1.60 at the end without any prior notice. When paying, there was a rather annoying notice stating that card payments were not accepted! We couldn't find any other information about this anywhere!

There was no sign or indication that card payments were not accepted. The first page of the menu lacked sufficient labeling in 2025. The food was okay, but not good.

The service couldn't have been this bad, we wanted to drink glühwein while waiting for the river tour, they took the order first and then said you can't keep the table just for drinking glühwein, we paid and we couldn't finish our drinks, they were so rude and disrespectful, I would never ever recommend it.

The food was okay, although the sauce was cold and the fish was very translucent. However, if you overlook the "No Card Payment" sign on the menu, you'll be informed of this extremely rudely. And if you then can't leave a tip because you barely had enough cash to cover the bill, you'll be told in an extremely harsh, insulting, and contemptuous tone that you should read the menu properly in the future. There's absolutely no clearly visible notice of this on the door or a menu. A friendly heads-up before ordering would have saved a lot of frustration. Because let's be honest, who reads the introductory text of a menu when they're hungry and just want to eat?

The food was decent. The service was extremely unpleasant: two grumpy waiters who made us feel like we were bothering them, even though we were perfectly polite and not at all difficult (a party of six). They didn't accept credit cards and didn't even mention it when we were seated. They also didn't give us change, and without any explanation. Not even a thank you. What a rip-off! Avoid at all costs! Just drive by, don't stop.

This place cannot be recommended. Reason: Unmotivated staff (hardly a smile, barely able to explain or repeat things to guests). We received too little money back (plus we had to go all the way to Landungsbrücke 1 to get cash – the nearest one was out of service).

We were there for lunch on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The food was good, the ambiance was good, but the service was poor. One waiter tried to reprimand a boy with his slang because he allegedly asked for ketchup in a rude manner. We rarely got a laugh either. Now comes the best part: card payments are not accepted, only cash. We were informed afterwards that it was on the menu (probably in the fine print). Please pay attention to the restaurant selection on the quay; there are certainly better restaurants nearby!

The price/performance ratio isn't right. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the fried fish with potato salad very much – especially considering the prices. Next time, we'll opt for a fish sandwich. The view was great. The staff was friendly.

We weren't allowed to sit down and order for two people because my companion was holding an empty bag of chips, and no one listened either.

We wanted to pay for our meal with a card. When we asked, the clerk reacted very rudely and simply referred us to the menu, where it says on the very first page: "Currently no card payments accepted." This "currently" statement has been in effect for over a year. We find this very questionable – why have card payments been refused for so long? In times when cashless payments are possible almost everywhere, we're left with the suspicion that things aren't quite right here. In any case, this doesn't seem trustworthy or customer-friendly. We certainly won't be coming back.

Since the landing stages are a tourist attraction, the price is quite high, but the quality of the fried fish was abysmal. In over 20 years of visiting the coast, I've never had such poor industrially produced food as here. The potato salad was a mess with excess mustard. The best part was the tartar sauce, probably from a bucket and at exorbitant prices. The fried fish was a single breadcrumb crust dripping in fat. The service was correspondingly unfriendly. Never again.

The setting is perfect, right on the harbor. The prices are quite steep, which is probably due to the location. Unfortunately, the food was more of a cafeteria-style quality, not what you'd expect for the price.

When I came back, my beer was still there. I've never experienced anything so unfriendly and this is really the first time I've not left a tip... The waiter then looked at me and asked me if I was serious. I looked at him and said that the service was terrible. Then he simply stole my full beer!!!! An absolute catastrophe for every restaurateur….

Don't go here!!! I've never experienced such unfriendly staff in my life. My boyfriend, who is allergic, got a bee in his fresh beer. I politely asked if it could be replaced. The answer was, it was our bad luck. Since we didn't tip, my partner was simply given his almost-full beer and told to leave immediately. I'm stunned.

Nobody here has even thought of putting up a sign like that. The only person who shows any skill here is the chef.

A friend who doesn't have much money said she would like to pay by card (the bill came to 46.40 euros, and she ended up with 47 euros). Yes, it's not much, but he had received tips from the rest of us. He then told her that cards weren't accepted, only cash. So she gave me cash. His rude response: "And it stays at 47 euros?" I told him that for that behavior he didn't even deserve the small tip. Insulted, he put the 60 cents on the table, saying: "You seem to need it more." We were then very rudely shown away. After all, it was a restaurant, and you don't pay by card. It's just that it's not stated anywhere, and they don't tell you when you order. We weren't the only ones there who had that kind of payment experience; passersby who overheard the argument between me and the waiter mentioned it. NEVER AGAIN! There are friendlier restaurants.

Solid food that tasted good. You sit right on the pier, where thousands of tourists are hustling and bustling through. Perfect for people-watching. Service was friendly. The only downside is that you can only pay in cash, which they didn't tell us beforehand. With a bill of €120, that's a bit of a challenge, since you don't usually carry a lot of cash. But otherwise, it was good.

The food was good and the prices were halfway ok. The fish was fresh and well prepared. The food, especially the salad, could have been prepared a little more lovingly according to my taste. The furnishings inside are rather rustic and functional on the terrace. The service was nice and quick. I haven't tried any other fish restaurant at the harbor yet, but I would say that this restaurant meets all expectations of a fish restaurant directly at the HH harbor.

There is a small but nice menu. I had the salmon with potatoes. When I asked to swap the spinach that came with the dish for something else, the employee responded in a friendly and helpful manner. I was then given a large portion of mixed salad. You can sit comfortably in the interior of the fish cabin. There is a star deduction for the fact that the employees talked very animatedly with each other at/behind the counter. I'm happy for you to do this too, but then in the kitchen etc. where the guests won't notice it so obviously!

If you want to feel like a second category guest, you should sit in the fish cabin. The drinks are ok, the staff is top notch. You get bullied, ignored and ultimately we got involved in an arrogant, unnecessary argument because my friend's child spilled some pepper. We apologized, gave plenty of tips... but nothing helped. The next table had a similar situation and while we were eating, another couple fled the restaurant before eating... the guys there really do everything they can to ruin the guest's day. Better go a restaurant further!!

Had dinner here today, July 17th, 2024. Pan fish (2 fillets per portion) with fried potatoes and mustard sauce (€26.80). Very tasty and a filling portion. 2 large specials (€4.90 each) for a total of €63.40. But we were full, the service was impeccable. Toilet was clean.

Yesterday we had such an unfriendly waiter. Completely out of place in the catering industry. The service was so bad and unfriendly. The drinks were brought carelessly and then the beer mats were simply thrown on the table. Literally. That's probably not possible! And in front of all the guests in the full beer garden. Embarrassing for the location.

Went on a quick trip to Hamburg at the weekend. We landed there after our boat trip. Unfortunately we didn't have any cash in our pockets and assumed that we could pay by card. Nice place by the river but terrible experience. A 5 cent coin was found inside a fish soup and the waiter did not even apologise or offered a new soup in return, he was even impolite when I said I would not pay for the soup. The food is delicious. But the service without words. 130 seats but only 10 cushions. If you ask for a pillow, the answer is there. I put them all out.
