The food was excellent. All the sauces were homemade, and you could taste the difference. The fish was absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and gave us great advice on our choices. 👍🏻 This won't be our last visit to this restaurant.

A thoroughly enjoyable restaurant experience. The two of us reserved a table online at Fisch Pauli on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. When we arrived a little early, there were no other guests in the restaurant, so we received "first class" service thanks to the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They explained all the dishes and offered personal recommendations. The amuse-bouche, as a starter, was absolutely fantastic, both in terms of taste and quantity! With a Pauli Mix platter (without seafood), fried potatoes, and a spicy sauce, as well as pan-fried fish with chips and a homemade, amazing mustard sauce, we enjoyed a meal that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. A place that looks unassuming from the outside, but offers a stylish ambiance inside. We felt incredibly comfortable, especially after the bill. For two people, including drinks, it was under €60 – amazing value for money! Incidentally, the restaurant was completely booked out that evening from 6 pm onwards!

Very nice restaurant which was found my accident since original plans changed. Were positively suprised by the staff speaking english and the restaurant atmosphere. The salmon fillet was a bit oily. We actually wanted to order fish and chips in bread. They do offer both fish and chips in bread, but the waiter tried to convince us that fish and chips in bread was a culinary sin. It's a shame they weren't more flexible. After all, fish and chips in bread is a classic in Hamburg. On the plus side, our dog was allowed and got water from a clean bowl. On the downside, the heating seemed to be broken; it was quite chilly.

Food: The bread and dips to start were sensational. The main courses were very good. Great quality and very easy to digest. We were very happy :) Atmosphere: A nice little place. Not too pretentious, and great decorating ideas, including a green ceiling and wall decals. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.

Hello everyone, I was spontaneously looking for a good fish restaurant and then called you. The very pleasant phone call convinced me 😋 I did what I said and drove there. It's a very nice little place, and we received a very warm welcome. We ordered the plaice and the grilled calamari. The side dishes were fantastic – fresh, crisp, and everything was top-notch. Keep up the good work, and please do me a favor and try to offer a nice dessert, or even several if possible. I think a little something extra at the end is essential. Our hotel is nearby and we were looking for a late lunch snack. We came here because of the good reviews. The short walk was definitely worth it. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming. Inside, it's modern and nicely decorated. The ambiance is really good. We received very friendly and attentive service. Everything was quick (not too quick). The portions are really good and actually too large for a snack. The price is really great for what you get. The only thing I missed on the menu were large soft drinks/spritzers. Since there was a 0.25 liter glass bottle of Coke at the next table, we didn't ask for it. For Hamburg visitors who are thirsty after sightseeing, larger bottles would be great. But no star deduction for that, as the service was so quick that we quickly got a second drink. We would definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg. However, it is advisable to reserve a table during peak times.

Nice restaurant when you wanna have or try traditional fish or seafood in Hamburg with reasonable prices. - Food: For starters, we received bread with two types of cremes to eat the bread with. My friend ordered a mixed fish dish, which in his opinion was very tasty. I had calamaris, which was also delicious. There is a few optionsnfor sauce which you can choose from. Side dishes would be either fried potatoes or potatoes salad. Plus, there was some veggies that comes together with your fish too. It costs about 15-20€ for each dish. - Service and atmosphere: What I especially like about this place is that you can reserve a table, what I cannot do at other places where I go for fish (I get why the other places don't offer this, but still). The personal was friendly. Restroom is also fine.

The Karo district has its charms. It's a bit quieter than the Schanze district. The staff greeted us very warmly and showed us a lovely outdoor seating area. The menu is very clear and not overly extensive. We then chose the dish of the day. See pictures. Everything was very fresh. We prefer the fried fish a bit crispier, and our request was fulfilled. The potato salad was super delicious. The value for money was exactly what we expected. Overall rating: One of the few good fish restaurants. We'd be happy to come back.

We went to the best pub in Hamburg that serves food three times within a week. The fish, the drinks, and the price were all top-notch. We're from Austria and travel a lot. Fisch Pauli is a simple but cool little restaurant with top-notch, fresh, and lovingly prepared dishes. The owner gives great tips on food and Hamburg. Be sure to ask him. We'll definitely be back in Hamburg and will be back at Fisch Pauli.

I want to say the food is good, but the service was questionable. We waited about half an hour to get our drinks and appetisers, which were salads and bread. And they didn’t give us any cutlery to eat it with. When asked, the waiter rolled his eyes. And on top of that our order got mixed up. Overall we spent 2 hours at the restaurant, about 1h 30 mins was spent waiting for the food.

For a typical Hamburg pub, the service was great and friendly, and they served bread with a delicious dip beforehand. The food was very good value for money.
