Excellent, simple seafood. Great sauces. Everything perfectly seasoned, nothing over-cooked. Incredible service. Waiter gently and politely talked us out of an appetizer we didn't need and we left *perfectly* sated and very happy. Absolutely recommend. Thank you for the incredible meal, team!

I had chipirones. They were very good, and the salad served with them was just like home. Why they came with potatoes is beyond me. It should have just been bread with that delicious dip.

Next to the CCH happen to drop in after a conference and though kind of full got seating. Very friendly and talkative staff. Lots of fish options which can be combined with a side of potatoes ( different options available) and a sauce. Also got a complimentary salad with my dish. Highly recommend it.

So, this was my first time at Fisch Pauli and I was thrilled with the food and service. The staff was very attentive and polite. The food was first-class (I had the Pauli 1 Mix). I was very surprised that they offered an appetizer (it wasn't on the menu). It definitely won't be my last time visiting this restaurant.

Our hotel is nearby and we were looking for a late lunch snack. We came here because of the good reviews. The short walk was definitely worth it. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming. Inside, it's modern and nicely decorated. The ambiance is really good. We received very friendly and attentive service. Everything was quick (not too quick). The portions are really good and actually too large for a snack. The price is really great for what you get. The only thing I missed on the menu were large soft drinks/spritzers. Since there was a 0.25 liter glass bottle of Coke at the next table, we didn't ask for it. For Hamburg visitors who are thirsty after sightseeing, larger bottles would be great. But no star deduction for that, as the service was so quick that we quickly got a second drink. We would definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg. However, it is advisable to reserve a table during peak times.

Nice restaurant when you wanna have or try traditional fish or seafood in Hamburg with reasonable prices. - Food: For starters, we received bread with two types of cremes to eat the bread with. My friend ordered a mixed fish dish, which in his opinion was very tasty. I had calamaris, which was also delicious. There is a few optionsnfor sauce which you can choose from. Side dishes would be either fried potatoes or potatoes salad. Plus, there was some veggies that comes together with your fish too. It costs about 15-20€ for each dish. - Service and atmosphere: What I especially like about this place is that you can reserve a table, what I cannot do at other places where I go for fish (I get why the other places don't offer this, but still). The personal was friendly. Restroom is also fine.

The Karo district has its charms. It's a bit quieter than the Schanze district. The staff greeted us very warmly and showed us a lovely outdoor seating area. The menu is very clear and not overly extensive. We then chose the dish of the day. See pictures. Everything was very fresh. We prefer the fried fish a bit crispier, and our request was fulfilled. The potato salad was super delicious. The value for money was exactly what we expected. Overall rating: One of the few good fish restaurants. We'd be happy to come back.

A very friendly and authentic team. The food was also extremely good. I'm not usually a big fish fan, but I really enjoyed my redfish. The guests I brought with me are lactose intolerant, and the staff were very patient and checked with the kitchen whenever I had any questions. They also made it possible for my wheelchair-bound mother to find space outside. Simply fantastic. Thank you!!

I want to say the food is good, but the service was questionable. We waited about half an hour to get our drinks and appetisers, which were salads and bread. And they didn’t give us any cutlery to eat it with. When asked, the waiter rolled his eyes. And on top of that our order got mixed up. Overall we spent 2 hours at the restaurant, about 1h 30 mins was spent waiting for the food.

We went to the best pub in Hamburg that serves food three times within a week. The fish, the drinks, and the price were all top-notch. We're from Austria and travel a lot. Fisch Pauli is a simple but cool little restaurant with top-notch, fresh, and lovingly prepared dishes. The owner gives great tips on food and Hamburg. Be sure to ask him. We'll definitely be back in Hamburg and will be back at Fisch Pauli.

The service welcomed us very warmly and arranged a table (the restaurant was full, and we didn't have a reservation). We then had the Pauli Mix with various fish fillets, combed with a choice of potato dishes and vegetables, and the fish & chips menu – all very good. We started with tzatziki and ezme with garlic bread. The entire service team was super friendly and very attentive, something you unfortunately rarely see these days.

Really delicious food! So nice to find a place in Hamburg that doesn’t just serve fries and schnitzel. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were absolutely delicious. Nice sallad and bread included. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful — especially when it came to adjusting the portion sizes for the kids, which was great since it could easily have been too much food otherwise. Service was a bit surly and food tasted more processed or pre-frozen than fresh, and quite lacking in flavor. Perhaps reviews are high because prices are on the lower side, but quality isn’t great. Salad was probably the best thing I ate as the mustard sauce on the fish was more curry flavored and the overcooked vegetables were inedible as they were full of salt.

We went to Fisch Pauli yesterday and we were absolutely thrilled. For starters, we had a special from the kitchen. Then we ordered, the best fish I've ever eaten! We had Hamburg pan-fried fish and a plaice. The fish was cooked/fried to perfection, super fresh, and simply incredibly delicious; I'd almost say it was the best fish I've ever eaten. The vegetables were also freshly prepared and not overcooked, also just right, still slightly crunchy, just as they should be. The seasoning was delicious and a little different than usual. It tasted just like grandma's day. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, and the service is very friendly and attentive. If you want to eat really good fish in Hamburg, you should definitely stop by here. Don't be put off by the outside atmosphere; that's the ambiance of this neighborhood. 😊 The interior is very attractive and well-kept. Highly recommended! We won't be here for the last time. 🥳

Yes, we can highly recommend this little fish restaurant! The food was excellent and the service attentive and very friendly! Our dog was immediately given a large bowl of water, and he lay sweetly and peacefully under our table. The ambiance wasn't quite to our taste, and from the outside, it looked more off-putting than inviting. It's a real shame. Perhaps something could be changed? The fish here is delicious! I had fried calamari with chips. The plaice also looked very good and was a generous portion, served with salad and baguette. We had two incredibly friendly waiters that evening, who were very attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere, newly renovated.

From the outside, the entrance is completely inconspicuous, and you'd have no idea what lies within. A small, fine restaurant with 12 tables and an original yet cozy interior. The staff are very friendly and attentive from the moment you arrive, taking the time to answer any questions you may have about the food. Starters and main courses are prepared with dedication and attention to detail and are also a real eye-catcher. The portions are generous and an absolute delight. And while you enjoy your meal, easy listening in the background completes the whole experience. In summary: an absolute insider tip for anyone who likes fish in a unique atmosphere. A trip to Fisch Pauli is definitely worth it.

my hotel recommended this place and I read the reviews and everything would look really good and I must say they were all right. It was really good seafood very rustic type setting no fancy thrills or trails just hard-working people that were great waiters they could speak English. they were nice. They were helpful and they were informativethe food from the bread to this two different fish items. We have were very good. It’s indoor outdoor tables fairly priced.

Great experience all around! We had the fish and chips, Fisch im Brot, and penne with salmon — all of which were delicious. The pasta sauce was just a touch on the salty side, but still very enjoyable. Portions were generous, and the service was absolutely impeccable. Would definitely come back!

We ordered one large hot Plato Pauli Mix ll for two and it was incredibly delicious! Absolutely everything! The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The place is absolutely recommended for visiting!

The service was very attentive and friendly. Restrooms were quite clean. The food was, unfortunately, truly disappointing. Profits were maximized by using the cheapest ingredients. Limited fish selection, only the "cheap" varieties. The fish wasn't well prepared (overcooked, sloppy coating, too much frying oil...). The fried potatoes weren't crispy at all, but dripping with grease. Overall, a real disappointment. If you want to compete with the cult restaurant around the corner (not mentioned here), you'll have to step it up a few notches. A shame.

The four of us happened to walk past here, having originally visited the bunker. The ambiance doesn't look cozy at all from the outside, but the interior is absolutely charming. The service is excellent; there was even time for a chat. The selection is limited, but all the more delicious for it. We had a variety of dishes, but everyone was extremely satisfied. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were more than adequate. If we lived in Hamburg, we would definitely come here more often. A fantastic restaurant!
