A fantastic experience at the Blüchernturm – a giant schnitzel of the highest quality! We are absolutely thrilled with the Blüchernturm restaurant! That's why we celebrated our son's confirmation there. The menu is seasonal, and the asparagus was divine! The giant schnitzels are also simply unbeatable – huge, juicy, and perfectly crispy. Every bite is a delight that simply makes you happy. The portions are more than generous, offering truly excellent value for money. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, the service friendly and attentive – you feel completely at home. Whether for a relaxed evening with friends or a special meal, everything is just right here. If you're looking for a schnitzel that's not only large but also a taste sensation, you should definitely stop by the Blüchernturm. We'd like to thank the owner Barbara for her warm hospitality and Katja, the best waitress in the world! A huge compliment also to the fantastic kitchen! We were there again today after two years. Since the restaurant is closing on June 22nd, 2025 (for renovations and then a change of tenant), it's already in a state of decline. The outdoor seating is still great, and the food and service were rather lacking. Two dishes (Cordon Blue) were missing salad, and all four dishes were lukewarm, not hot. Since I complained about this, I got a small beer from the house, which isn't usually available outside, just 0.4, as was only 0.4 of a Coke Zero. The Cordon Blue with fried potatoes is way too expensive at €29.90, as is the Wiener Schnitzel at €28. My husband had fried black pudding with apple and onion, which is actually a starter there for €13. When I asked if it could be had as a main course, he said yes, so it was an additional €4.50 for the mashed potatoes. The portion was quite small and not hot. Some of the wines are already out. The service was very slow and at times inattentive (but friendly), and it took over an hour for the food to arrive. I wish the owners all the best in their new restaurant, Wiener Wunder, in Rüttenscheid (next to the district court)! We will definitely try it out and hopefully we'll be satisfied again, just like we used to be at Hülsmannshof!

Were there for a communion celebration. Buffet was very good. Space was optimal for us. Service super friendly and helpful.

No, we had four dishes (1x cold dish (salmon), 3 of which were extremely oversalted!!!!. And the quantity on the plates was absolutely disproportionate to the prices. Personally, I made myself something to eat at home, my conclusion: men don't get full!! We asked the owner or the waitress about the situation. Yes, he had tried a dish in the kitchen and I was 100% right that the dish was oversalted. Since the evening was pretty bad, he didn't offer a voucher or a refund when billing. Only !!!! a digestive schnapps... you actually needed a big bottle of water! Well: Hopefully this restaurant doesn't continue like this, otherwise it will end up like Hohaus, namely in rubble and ashes!

At the weekend I celebrated my birthday with family and friends in Haus Großjung, an old half-timbered house that is idyllically located directly on the Ruhr and with its beautiful beer garden under tall, old trees that invites you to linger. Since I didn't want to put together a buffet, but instead wanted to put together my own small one from the extensive menu that would suit all of my guests' tastes, we tried a lot in advance and since everything was very tasty, it was even more difficult for us to choose!! The chef and boss “Rudi” responded to every request and made everything possible. Even my husband's to create a dish that isn't on the menu! A lactose-free dessert was also brought to the table in no time! You feel and taste, "Rudi" cooks with love and passion!!!! The appetizer platter was, like all the other dishes, super tasty! All main courses came to the table at the same time (28 people)!!! The choice of drinks was also successful and thanks to the attentive, always with a smile on their faces and helpful "hardworking hands", the evening was more than successful!!! From the outside, it looks decent. My wife and I were taken upstairs, where several tables were already occupied by groups of children. It was quite loud. And instead of a memory card, we were given a single-sided sheet of paper. It looked like the daily specials. That was the reason we left the place.

The two of us were eating, sitting in a large room with several set tables, without music. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Messy curtains holes in walls and ceilings. Staff very friendly. Food was okay. Conclusion: Local (parish hall atmosphere) only suitable for large celebrations. Not for a nice evening for two.
