We were at the Kluse with 17 people for a family celebration. We had a very nice, somewhat private room. The service was extremely pleasant and friendly, and the food was top-quality and very tasty. A definite recommendation!

Delicious food, a pretty half-timbered house with a very nice beer garden next to an old leper chapel. Unfortunately, the staff weren't having the best day. A bit inattentive, but they also seemed to be busy preparing for something bigger.

We sat in the garden in the summer. It had a wonderful atmosphere surrounded by trees and hedges. Highly recommended. The schnitzels were delicious. We also enjoyed the espresso, which was low in acidity. The service was pleasant. We'd love to come back next time we're in the area.

Overwhelmed waitresses and rude, unfriendly comments seem to be the norm. The food doesn't even need to be mentioned when, when asked for a liver cooked thoroughly, a regular waitress tells you that it's standard practice to cook a liver rare at the Kluse. I don't recommend it.

A super cozy place, the service was exceptionally friendly. The main course was even served with gloves. Absolutely top-notch value for money, and I haven't experienced such delicious German cuisine in a long time.

We've been here several times with friends now; the food is always great, the quality is top-notch, and the service is very friendly. There's a small catch: when it's busy, you unfortunately have to wait a long time for drinks or to be asked if you have any other requests. The staff work themselves to the bone, so no complaints about the service! There's probably just not enough staff on busy days. All in all, though, it's simply fantastic to be here. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service too...if you have a bit of patience, it's definitely worth it! We'll be back, for sure!

I had a delicious meal there with a friend during the week. However, the service could be improved. We were seated at the "passage," where you should be able to see if customers don't have anything to drink and even ask if they don't. When they then react defiantly to a "small" tip, that's not a nice attitude.

Absolutely blown away by the Tomatencremesuppe - super creamy with a perfect touch of rocket that gave it a fresh, peppery kick. Never thought rocket and tomato cream could be such a power combo. Then came the Wiener Kalbschnitzel - perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. One of the best meals I've had in Germany. Will 100% be back.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon. The cake tasted great, as always, with a decent-sized slice. There were three of us there. We each had a cake and a rabbit coffee. Afterwards, we lingered over a beer and two small carafes of red wine = two glasses of wine. We paid 50 euros. Value for money? If it's worth it to you...

From the outside, it looks decent. My wife and I were taken upstairs, where several tables were already occupied by groups of children. It was quite loud. And instead of a memory card, we were given a single-sided sheet of paper. It looked like the daily specials. That was the reason we left the place.

We were there with a wedding party (~25 people) at lunchtime that day. The meal should start around 12pm and three courses should be served. The starter was only served after 1.5 hours, the main course after over 2 hours, the dessert after well over 3 hours. So the waiting times were extreme, even though there was only a very limited (pre-selected) selection of food. The service was also very poor, at least I was never actively asked if I wanted something to drink or if anything was missing. I always have to actively approach the staff. Luckily the food was delicious.

Yesterday my wife and I hosted a celebration in the Kluse with around 25 people. Super nice location! We had agreed on a menu a few weeks in advance and were able to bring over floral decorations and place cards the day before. Lunch was great, all the dishes tasted really good. Vegetarian and vegan options were also provided. Unfortunately it took a very long time until both drinks and the individual courses were served. As a result, we didn't get dessert until almost four hours later. We still had a very nice lunch/afternoon there and would recommend the Kluse to others. We hope that the service will be a little better.

Es ist Spargelzeit und wir wollten in einem schönen Restaurant einkehren. Bei Zur Kluse stand die Spargelkarte leider nicht auf der Website. Ein kurzer Anruf genügte aber, um die Bestätigung zu erhalten: Spargelkarte haben wir und einen Tisch können wir auch reservieren! Angekommen, wurden wir schön platziert. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend. Unser gewählter Weißwein war aus - dafür gab es eine andere teurere Empfehlung. Die war aber gut. Wir haben uns je für eine Spargelsuppe und Spargel mit Schinken entschieden. Auf Nachfrage habe ich sogar halb halb bekommen: gekochten und rohen Schinken. Freude! Dann kam die Vorspeise. Suppe schmeckte wie von Maggi aus der Tüte, angedickt und verfeinert mit Spargelstückchen. 10€. Sechs Stangen Spargel, 2 Kartoffeln, bissl zerlassene Butter. 27€. Der Spargel war al dente, zu gezuckert. Butter mussten wir nachbestellen. Aber dann: 2 Scheiben Schinken für ganze 10€! Das ist eine Frechheit. Auf Beschwerde, Flucht der Kellnerin. Seither ward sie nicht mehr gesehen. Schade! Wir hätten gerne nach Nachtisch und einen Espresso bestellt!

If I'm honest, these 3 stars are given with a lot of goodwill from me. Today we had dinner in the inn with 3 adults, a toddler and 1 baby. When we arrived at 5:30 p.m. there were only 3 other tables occupied and we were asked very quickly what drinks we wanted. A high chair for our daughter suggested by the service person also arrived immediately. The food order was also made very promptly after the drinks were brought. Since we had some requests for changes due to preferences and allergies, you could tell that the service person's mood was noticeably declining. A children's dish and 3 schnitzel dishes were ordered, of which the children's dish was served very quickly and well before the other dishes. Unfortunately, I have to say that in my opinion it doesn't make much sense to offer a spaghetti dish for children, as other types of pasta such as penne or fusilli are better suited for children, especially since only a large spoon was served with the spaghetti dish and a fork was only brought when asked. (The service person was no longer in the best mood, they were still friendly to all the other guests, but things were getting icier for us) Then came the 3 schnitzel dishes and when you had to go to the front in person to order a component that had been specially ordered and was missing until then, you were very rudely reprimanded by the service person for not having ordered this component. It was just strange that everyone at the table had heard this extra request when ordering (it was herb butter - so nothing out of the ordinary). This was then brought at some point and “slammed” onto the table, which was already a step away from normal service. Unfortunately, the herb butter was frozen, so it wasn't possible to enjoy it as we would have liked and as we were used to. I would have liked to have noticed this situation promptly, but the service person didn't respond to my signals; they were more busy folding napkins, checking their cell phones or checking on everything at the table at the most inopportune moments (when 3 adults have their mouths full). When we then asked for a fourth napkin for our daughter, who had eaten her own children's meal, it was "slammed" on the table like frozen herb butter with a "please". (The service person's mood was almost icy) But the climax came when we were asked again about our satisfaction when paying and we finally said without a full mouth that the enjoyment had been spoiled by the frozen herb butter. The service person got really mushy and said we could also talk to her normally. I did... it's just funny that the others at the table found the wording of the complaint very friendly. To be honest, I am extremely disappointed with the service this evening and am really considering whether our upcoming family celebration with small children makes sense at all in this location.

I've been to this restaurant several times and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, I recently learned that the restaurant was closed by the authorities for a few days due to significant cleanliness and hygiene issues. Now everything seems to be OK again, and the restaurant is open.

The country house style ambience is OK, but a bit outdated. The service was very poor when I was there because even though it wasn't busy, I had to wait forever for a menu and later for the food. I also found the employees to be quite unfriendly towards me and my colleagues. I cannot recommend the restaurant and will never go there again.

Wir waren in grosser Runde zum 95. Sehr freundlicher Service. Gute Küche. Alle hatten gleichzeitig ihr Essen. Alle fanden es lecker. Auch die 3 Jöhrige war begeistert. Und dann noch der super Biergarten!

Yesterday I was in the refuge with my girlfriend and the children for a long time. I used to be a regular there with my parents because everything was always perfect. But yesterday I was speechless how much it had subsided. Service and ambience are still good, you can't say anything about that. But the sauerbraten was a disgrace. The meat, firm & sliced ​​so thinly as if two beer mats had been placed on top of each other. Even if there were two slices, it was impossible. Both dumplings and red cabbage were finished products.. but the worst was the sauce. Firstly, it had absolutely no taste, no real taste at all, and secondly, it was the consistency of wallpaper paste. I've never seen anything like that there before. I was speechless. So my sauerbraten tastes 100x better at home at Christmas, guaranteed. And then, the prices of the children's meals. 13 and 16€ for fries with a bit of schnitzel and a bit of nuggets? Then 80 cents per bag of mayo and ketchup? Crazy... well that was once now and never again. Really a shame. Even if everything has become more expensive, the price/performance ratio definitely needs to be revised there. I work in the catering industry myself and understand a lot of things, but yesterday I was flabbergasted. All the best for the business

Wir waren hier am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag mit der Familie zum Mittagstisch. Es gab verschiedene Menüvariationen zur Auswahl, somit war für jeden etwas dabei. Obwohl die Kluse sehr gut besucht war, hat der Service gut geklappt und wir wurden jederzeit freundlich bedient. Auch auf einen Extrawunsch (Menü zum Mitnehmen) wurde eingegangen. Das Essen war wieder toll und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt.

First of all: Service is very friendly and can't help the miserable food. The main course costs €30 and you get limp frozen vegetables. Poor quality in general and some of it simply tasted subpar. Price performance is absolutely not right! Ambiance is OK but not really good either. It's simply no longer up to date, but you can cook better and healthier at home.

Haven't eaten here in a long time. Has decreased significantly. Neither the fried poultry nor the baguette with the salad tasted good/fresh. I mentioned it, but no reaction from the kitchen. Price/performance no longer fits. It's a shame, it has a nice atmosphere. The service person was very friendly.

This time there was the Schnitzel Trio 😋 The store was busy, inside and out. It tasted very tasty and the price was okay too. /Update today we had schnitzel with chanterelles, very tasty. /Update today we had schnitzel according to the beautiful forester, a culinary delight. There was also a wild card and the decision for the schnitzel versus the game was very difficult.

Briefly described in two words: sheer disappointment! Before I describe: for almost the entire stay, an employee was busy sorting plates, cutlery and the like with the corresponding background noise. When someone orders a steak, the question of how they would like it, i.e. medium, English or otherwise, is the absolute minimum. But waiting for this question to be asked is as promising as throwing a salami into the hallway and hoping it comes back sliced. Well, the steak was very tough. The pepper strips indicated on the menu were on top, and everything was buried under a sauce that was far too hot, so to speak, to the point of drowning. There were four of us, one of whom was a child. I've only seen such carelessly slapped dishes onto plates from mediocre chip shops. And if you go to a restaurant that charges an average of €50 for a dish and ask for mayonnaise and/or ketchup, then perhaps someone should take the trouble to squeeze this side dish out of the aluminum bag and put it on the table in a small bowl and not, as experienced, placed on the guest's table without saying a word. I'm speechless and more than just disappointed. Never again.

Yesterday we were guests as a family with 3 adults and 2 children. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and the service was very friendly. Everyone enjoyed the food and the portions were sufficient. There is no drinks menu, which I don't think is good. I was really speechless at the value for money for my meal and the two children's meals. A small goose breast with 2 dumplings made of ready-made dough, red cabbage and a mini jar of apple compote for 40 € and the children's portion of fries with chicken nuggets and a little curry sauce for 16 € almost border on highway robbery for me. We decided not to let the bill spoil our otherwise nice evening, but I certainly won't be eating there again on Sunday.

Das Essen war eine einzige Katastrophe. Als Wiener Schnitzel erwartet man 2 dünne panierte Scheiben Kalb ...wir hatten cm dicke Schnitzel, die nach Reklamation erneut serviert wurden. Die andere Dame bestellte Kalbsleber mit Kartoffelpüree. Es kamen 3 winzige Stücke Leber und extrem viel Kartoffelpüree. Nach Reklamation wegen des Fleisches (Menge) wurde das Gericht ausgetauscht und der Teller kam zurück mit etwas mehr Kalbsleber, aber im Püree befand sich noch eine halbe Kartoffel. Die anderen beiden Gerichte waren auch nicht lobenswert, aber wir verzichteten aus eine weitere Reklamation. Wir werden dieses Restaurant auf keinen Fall mehr besuchen!!!!!

Attentive and friendly staff. ⚠️Unfortunately, we did not know that there is an extremely limited menu on the weekend, so our holiday was a little spoiled. If we had known this, we would not have considered this establishment for our holiday gathering (20 people). ℹ️ Today's menu consisted of about fifteen (15) dishes, printed in large type to take up all the space on a sheet of A4 paper, but you can say that there were fewer dishes, as some were similar, like schnitzel with fries (dry, it is difficult to eat without drinks) and schnitzel with scrambled eggs and potatoes, ketchup or mayonnaise were portioned - separately in fast food-type bags. The choice of drinks was also very limited. For dessert, mainly variations with ice cream were offered. Based on the above, I do not rate the food highly. But based on the reviews of other visitors, it should probably be better here on other days. ❕ In general, I observe that it is a general problem to find a nice place to meet on weekends, especially with a large company or family, and it is extremely difficult to get used to it.

Im Rahmen einer Wanderung der Baldeney Steig sind wir hier spontan eingekehrt. Der Empfang war reserviert aber nicht unfreundlich, die Bedienung ohne Beanstandung. Die Auswahl auf der Karte übersichtlich (lag vll am Feiertag 3. Oktober). Wir bestellten 2 Heißgetränke und 2 mal die Gulaschsuppe. Auf die Nachfrage ob Brot dazu serviert wird, wurde dies überraschend verneint; aber wir könnten kostenpflichtig welches bekommen. Na gut! Heißer Kakao war lecker, Latte Macchiato ebenfalls. Die Suppe kam rasch, geschmacklich in Ordnung, die Portion nicht üppig aber sei es drum. Nach dem Essen die Rechnung (zuerst ohne Beleg) zu € 32,20 beglichen. Beim Nachrechnen wurde ich stutzig, denn die Suppe kostet je € 8,00 also zusammen € 16,00. Woher kommt die andere Hälfte der Rechnung? Also Beleg angefragt und mal nachgeschaut: Kakao € 5,50, Latte für € 4,70 und für die 4 Scheiben Baguette stolze € 6,00. Auf Nachfrage ob das korrekt sei, kam von der Bedienung eine Bestätigung und die Entschuldigung: „ich mache die Preise nicht“. Mit Verlaub, Leistung muss bezahlt werden und alles wird teurer. Aber für 4 Scheibchen Baguette € 6,00 zu verlangen, finde ich frech! Wir kommen wohl nicht wieder.

We stopped here spontaneously as part of a hike on the Baldeney Steig. The reception was reserved but not unfriendly, the service without complaint. The selection on the menu was clear (maybe it was on the October 3rd holiday). We ordered 2 hot drinks and 2 goulash soup. When asked if bread was served with it, this was surprisingly answered in the negative; but we could get some for a fee. All right! Hot cocoa was delicious, as was the latte macchiato. The soup came quickly, tasted okay, the portion wasn't large but so be it. After the meal the bill was paid (at first without a receipt) for €32.20. When I did the math, I was puzzled because the soup costs €8.00 each, so a total of €16.00. Where does the other half of the bill come from? So I asked for the receipt and took a look: cocoa €5.50, latte for €4.70 and the four slices of baguette for an impressive €6.00. When asked whether this was correct, the waitress confirmed and apologized: “I don’t set the prices”. With respect, performance has to be paid for and everything becomes more expensive. But I think it's cheeky to charge €6.00 ​​for 4 slices of baguette! We probably won't come back.

Das Essen schmeckte gut. Es kam nach persönlicher Aufforderung über eine Stunde später. Wir wollten eigentlich einen Geburtstag feiern und ärgern uns noch heute. Das war bereits das dritte Mal. Einmal wurden wir trotz Reservierung wg. einer Hochzeitsgesellschaft ausgeladen, ein weiteres Mal mussten wir ebenfalls über eine Stunde warten. Zum Schluss bot man uns am 28.9. an: "Sie können ja stornieren!" Bestimmt kommen wir nicht wieder!

We had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. Our terrible schnitzel (for 29 euros) was served after an incredible 1.5 hours! We suspect our order was forgotten because after an hour we had to ask. Then it took another half hour until the terrible food finally arrived. The schnitzel itself was a disappointment. It was dry and tasteless. The service was also poor. The waiters were unfriendly and not attentive. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience that we cannot recommend.

A nice little restaurant near Villa Hügel. It is just as hidden in the forest as the Klusen chapel that gives it its name. A parking space is available and guests will find a cozy spot outside and inside. The cuisine is varied and good, the service is fast and friendly, reservations are recommended. Payment only in cash or with Giro (EC) card.

This was my third time there and I was very satisfied every time. Both the terrace area and inside are beautifully designed. Every time we were served very friendly and attentive and the food always tasted good. Afterwards you can take a wonderful little digestive walk here. I would happily recommend it.

Wir waren zur Firmenfeier da. Das Essen (Fisch) war in meinen Augen ungenießbar: zäh und schlecht schmeckend. Auch die Vorspeisenplatten ließen wirklich zu wünschen übrig: Lachs, Schinken und Feta auf einem Teller, völlig unpassend, zusammengestellt. Leider hat die Kluse in den letzten Jahren TOTAL abgebaut. Es gab Zeiten, da ist man sonntags zum besonderen Essen dorthin gegangen, konnte dort besonders gut Fisch und Fleisch essen und es gab hervorragende Antipasti- Platten zu Vorspeise. Es war sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich ein Gaumenschmaus. Schade…

Nice atmosphere and delicious food

At first glance it seems like a pretty decent place, but, unfortunately, the service is disgusting. We came as a group of three people and the waiter, until we called him twice, didn’t even plan to bring the menu. At some point we thought it was self-service, but no, it’s a pity. As soon as the menu was on the table, the waiter’s heavy and arrogant gaze began to put pressure on us, saying that you would “eat”, we hinted that we had not even opened the menu, but this did not stop him and he asked directly: what would you order. Still, we asked him to come a little later; after which every 30 seconds, like a general of troops, the waiter stood at our table, repeating his question, as per the regulations. Having placed our order, we had to wait 40 minutes; apparently, the restaurant is so chic that they grow their own vegetables and slaughter animals right on the spot. The food was mediocre, definitely not worth the money. As for the service, I just want to add that we waited more than 10 minutes for the bill. If you don't want to be treated with disdain, choose more pleasant places. I don't recommend it.

Terrible place. I asked to speak to me in English, the waiter started shouting at me in German. I won't understand you if you speak louder! The waiter ignored me, didn't bring the menu and the bill. The food took 40! minutes to prepare.

I've been going to this restaurant for 30 years...I also really enjoyed celebrating my birthdays...Yesterday I was there again with a hiking group...and I was speechless when I found out the price for a piece of cake ..6.00 euros.. .The ratio is not correct....the beer garden was almost empty....It's a shame....do you want to reduce the number of visitors through the prices????The menu has been redesigned...with corresponding prices.. .I don't have anything more to say...find out for yourself.
