We eat there for birthdays and other larger celebrations. Very good Thuringian bourgeois cuisine. Fast service and, when the weather is good, a starting point for beautiful hikes.
I "only" give the room 4 stars because the joints in the shower, for example, were no longer completely clean, the bedside table was in front of the closet so that it could only be opened on one side and the bedside table lamp didn't work. But the room was clean, and a second pillow was provided immediately at my request. When we ordered the room we were asked whether we wanted fresh goose, which was only available to order, and I found it very attentive. This tasted excellent. In general, the owner was very nice and responded to almost every request. The house is in a quiet location, but it is only a few kilometers from Kassel. There are enough parking spaces at the house.
The house is old but clean. You look in vain for elevators.
Price/performance is top.
When eating out, I found the Indian chicken dish with rice (which contained very little meat) quite expensive at 17 euros, while the goose with soup, salad, side dishes and dessert was ok at 30 euros.
Conclusion: We'll be back next year
The food was super delicious. The price was super low - where else can you eat so cheaply?
The service was attentive, friendly and prompt.
The ambience was left unchanged many years ago, but everything is still in top condition and functional. A nice, rustic restaurant. This restaurant is an insider tip - especially for carp lovers.
All the best and much success.
We ordered for the first time. Schnitzel platter with fries and as an extra we also added croquettes which we paid extra for. We had the schnitzel, sauce and croquettes. When we called to complain we were told the croquettes were a replacement for the fries. Then why is it declared as an extra and charged separately? This is a disgrace, as the schnitzel platter contains 6x schnitzel with fries and sauce for €42.90 and the croquettes are charged extra at €3. Was the first and last order!!!
The ambiance borders on Austrian, but in my opinion, it's more Bavarian or Alpine;)
That's why it has "Alm" in the name, I guess :)
Still, very nice chairs, lamps, and tables with a WOW factor!
Everything is very simple but luxurious in a way!
The service is very good, as you're greeted right away and given enough time to choose something to eat and drink :)
But sometimes you have to wait a bit at the entrance because it's very busy, but you'll understand that once you've eaten there!
The food arrives beautifully presented and warm.
Well seasoned, it completes it!
There's also something for children.
