Great place great staff and if we are ever in Berlin again we would go back had a great night

Cool location on the Spree with a large selection of fresh beers. The beer prices are determined in the evening by the beer exchange. This leads to an entertaining evening that encourages speculation. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Even without a reservation, we found space for two people and a small child. We'd love to come back.

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. The food is absolutely in the bottom category. A pale schnitzel carelessly slapped onto even paler but greasy fried potatoes. There is another way. Food is no longer an option for me.

Lovely bar with great food and quick service, reasonably priced too! Tried to get in on the evening over the weekend but it was full so book in advance for peak times! They have beers priced according to demand (stock market type screens!) so good fun on the evening of you want a few drinks and food. Great spot

The annual Christmas party with colleagues took place here this year. The ambience was pleasing, although that is always a matter of taste. The floor space of the dining room was used to the fullest extent possible, although I have also visited more audacious places. A huge screen with disastrous image resolution and various flat screens decorate the walls. You can come here to watch football and drink beer. The service seemed a little stressed, but I can understand that given the noise level. The kitchen probably had its hands full, which would at least explain the waiting time and the quality of the food. The menu sounded pompous, but unfortunately it was substandard. When I thought of the vegetable broth, I couldn't help but think of the food at the holiday camp in the early 1990s. I had to chew on parts of the goose leg for several minutes and the dumplings reminded me of my own first attempts in the kitchen and tasted neither like him nor her. The dessert was okay so far but not a challenge in terms of difficulty. Nevertheless, everyone was full and since the apricot schnapps was praised by everyone and one in particular, one can certainly speak of a successful event. The bottom line is that there is a bad aftertaste, as the group clearly expected more, especially given the exposed location. In any case, the oft-quoted term “tourist trap” cannot simply be dismissed out of hand. But ⚽️ watching and 🍺 drinking is fine, unless you sit directly under the screen. 😉

Very nice place and a note of thanks to the really kind and friendly bartender. The only sore point was that we purchased the "Berlin Welcome Card" to take advantage of the discount and not thinking of having to declare it at the entrance but at the time of payment, we had an unpleasant surprise. The bartender explained to us very well that we should have said it before and that the chosen dish was not included in the discount as it was not divisible, the classic "x2 people", accepted it, paid and left with respect. It's a shame that there were no mentions on the menu, at least easily visible ones, and I would have seen the impossibility of splitting the bills as easily solvable by applying everything to a single Welcome Card, the result would have been the same... The controversy is certainly broader , Berlin convinces you to take a card with which you actually do very little...

So I have to say the atmosphere is very nice and I think it's great that there's beer after the course. I've been there a few times now and the only thing I have to point out is that the store gave incorrect opening times. The store doesn't open at 3:00 a.m. on Saturdays, it throws the last ones at 12:30 a.m. so you can't get in after 12:00 a.m.!

Schöne Lage direkt im Zentrum und an der Spree. Es gibt eine nette Auswahl an Bieren vom Fass sowie typisch deutsche Küche zu deutlich gehobenen Preisen. Leider kann derzeit der Service mit den Preisen nicht ansatzweise mithalten. Es kann 30min dauern, um eine Bestellung aufzugeben. Später am Abend wird es aber deutlich entspannter.

Good German cuisine, jacket potatoes with quark and a fresh beer, nothing to complain about, the service was very polite and attentive. This is how you can use your lunch break.

Pub/restaurant, typical Berliner, very crowded, but to be honest also spacious. The service is not flawless but still adequate for the type of place. Good food and quality products. Everything lived up to expectations, average prices, also considering the location. It is definitely worth a visit.

Abi is the man, made us feel very much at home. We'll be visiting again when we're next in town

Amateur waiters that don't care about customers for 45 minutes just to order a beer, never again

Super cool shop! The principle was new for me and my friends and we wanted to try it out. It was worth it! The store is spacious and quite loud, but still has a very pleasant atmosphere and always a great atmosphere. Despite many orders, the waiters are always there when you need them.

A friend who lives in Berlin recommended this place for authentic Berliner cuisine. It was not crowed on a Sunday evening. The server took my order and drink and food quickly came. I had a Berliner pork knuckle which the restaurant claimed was the best in the city. While the meat was tender and delicious, my salad was swimming in dressing. The portion was huge for what they charged.

A fantastic, traditional German meal with a great atmosphere and interesting and comical decor in places. Incredibly interesting and great food, service and atmosphere!

We were warmly welcomed as tourists. There was an elderly waiter uncle, he seemed a little angry, but we still got along :) We had the lamb main course, perfecto!

The owner of the place is a neanderthal, treating his employees like utter crap. He poured 3 pints of different beers into 3 glasses and put them aside for the foam to calm down. Underneath each tap, there were glasses catching the waste. Once the foam calmed down, he poured the waste into the other pint glasses before serving. He was visible bored and very condecending towards staff and customers. Would suggest using less time greasing his hair,and more time studying customer service...

The Berlin Republic is worth seeing and reflects a beautiful ambience! There was a lot going on because 1 FC Köln was playing and there were a lot of guests there. We were warned that drinks were fine but food would take a particularly long time. The menu came quickly, but the drink intake alone took 30 minutes. Hot drinks were not accepted at all due to the rush. After ordering, it took another 25 minutes for the drinks to arrive. In the course of this, no new drinks were added if one had wanted them. The invoice had to be requested 3 times and took another 15 minutes. For a process that only took 2 minutes. Maybe a bad day, which was a shame. In Berlin I experienced more attentive restaurants and bars that were able to do justice to their guests despite the crowds. Since it didn't leave a good impression, no recommendation without a doubt...

Very cozy place. Had a shandy on the outside terrace today. Very tasty and the beer was freshly tapped. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I can highly recommend the Berlin Republic!!! We will definitely come back.

I cannot stress enough how straight up awful this bar is on the concept alone. Whatever capitalist came up with this place should be given their commemorative cement shoes and tossed off their riverfront seating area. The beers change in price "like the stock market" of demand and... well the supply is fixed so it's just a way to extract money from you. Instead of demand/supply economics i guess it's demand/stupid/gullibility economics. I ordered a 0,5L Hef when the price dipped to 4,10 but by the time they put the order in it was 6,10. So basically you get the illusion of maybe a cheap buy, then they put the order in when it's not. I decided to lean into their scheme by asking the server about shorts, futures, call/put options, etc and he looked like a deer in headlights. If they leaned into the concept by at least giving complicated stock mechanisms to people like me, who know it's a scam, then I would have given it a pass because at that point it's like a fun game. But no, it's just steal your money shenanigans. I think my silly young friends found it charming, but every time i broke down the numbers on the "good deal" that was coming up, they were like, "oh yeah, that's terrible." So turn your brain off and empty the wallet then you're good to go! I had a spoon full of the tomato soup from my buddy and it was exceptional (i'm very critical of tomato soup, highly recommend), fair is fair on that point, but nothing about the beer prices are fair or entertaining to an adult who isn't in the habit of burning their money for a capitalist gimmick. Outside that bomb/fire tomato soup, this place is trash, never go again, don't recommend. Nice riverside seating. One more thing, their bathroom artwork is INCREDIBLE, must see! Don't buy anything, just act like you're going to sit down and check out the bathroom!! Sad state of affairs when the highlight of your resturaunt is where people deposit the waste/product from the kitchen, but that's the facts of the matter. One of the silliest places i've ever been minus the soup and bathroom.

I don't know if it was just our luck, but it was too loud, and the table behind us had over 10 drunk guys yelling and hitting each other for fun 😅 The service was friendly and quick though we just had a round of drinks.

Curious brewery where they quote the price of the beers, it's not bad and it's not more expensive than other places, depending on the beer you choose.

I went to this restaurant at 2024.10.26 08:40 pm. We said we will just drink. And then the woman worker said, "we don't have seat until 11:30." But the other two guys who arrived later than me and didnt make a reservation have a seat at the bar. We complained about this situation, but the woman walker pretended not to know about that. I felt so much anger. I dont recommend this restaurant.

Cibo molto buono e anche la posizione, però la welcome Berlin card non la prendono quindi non ti fanno lo sconto del 25% . Questo è un modo per avere più clienti senza applicare lo sconto, quindi guadagnando di più. Per questo il mio voto anche se al cibo avrei dato un 5 diventa un 2.

The store was supposedly full and was put in the last corner. Beer prices are not understandable. Staff were underground, rude, slow and sometimes couldn't communicate. Weissbier is served in Hellenkrug. Roulade was tough After asking three times, I was allowed to pay and was asked by the colleagues behind the bar to ask the colleague from whom I bought the bill again...! Do yourself a favor and go to another store.

Wir hatten Hunger, haben ein leckeres Essen erwartet und eine Zumutung erhalten! Das Original Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb war vertrocknet und schmeckte alt. Es war nicht möglich weiter zu essen. Die, wie so toll angegeben, tollen Buletten waren Brot mit einem Hauch von Fleisch. Der Geschmack ähnelte wie einer vegetarischen Bulette und ich denke selbst die hätte dagegen einen Preis gewonnen! Sehr schade. Die Bedienung war sehr lieb und hat einen tollen Job gemacht. Danke dafür. Das nächste Mal gehen wir wieder zur ständigen Vertretung! P.s. das ist mein erster Beitrag zu einem Restaurant da ich noch nie so enttäuscht wurde.

Bathroom need to be maintained, they stunk but was good otherwise

In trasferta berlinese con amici andiamo in questo pub, ottima la birra tedesca cm sempre meno il cibo.. A mezzanotte ci hanno quasi cacciato xché dovevano chiudere, un po' più di elasticità mentsle ci starebbe bene...

The food was good. The service was probably quite demanding that evening. I didn't really like the pub as such. I don't think the Bavarian style is that great and I don't like screens in bars. Unfortunately there was still a football game and so everything was too much and too loud (for me). Sitting outside is also possible The toilet is definitely worth a visit, great graffiti.

Not bad, but somewhat high prices. Quality/price there are better options.

Although we had made a reservation and there was actually enough space in the restaurant, six of us were crammed into a table that was also located at an open terrace exit door. Not a problem in itself, if not for the outside temperature of 11 degrees with drizzle would have been. The waitress was obviously in a really bad mood. It's actually a shame. We left the restaurant immediately after eating. In the afternoon we went for a drink in the same restaurant on the outdoor terrace and met a very friendly, funny and attentive waiter.

If you are looking for a place to have a beer and something to eat in Berlin, this is a good option. In our case variety of sausages. It has giant screens to watch sports.

service is very rushed, we ordered the 2 person dish, before I could ask anything the waiter replied, what you see is what you get, so you had no choice with that dish and the menu had already been snatched from our hands. When paying, the waiter was already insisting on a tip before I could say anything, so I closed my mouth again and therefore no tip. After paying by card, the waiter indicated again that we could put the Trinkgeld on the table, very pushy and therefore nothing was given. There was nothing wrong with the food, but nothing special

The food was OK, but the price-performance ratio was rather unbalanced. The ambience is probably aimed at large groups of tourists. We didn't feel very comfortable because of the cigarette smoke wafting through the door, a very loud group at the next table and people constantly bumping into the table and then left relatively quickly.

The lamb goulash is delicious. Great sausages and beer. Wonderful location right along the river.

A super friendly, personable waiter. Good menu with exactly the dishes we imagined. The food tasted great. Unfortunately, the pork knuckles were still so firm that it was difficult to separate the meat from the bone. For a good pork knuckle, the meat must “fall off” the bone.

Very nice place, next to the river. You can sit inside or outside. Service very good. In rush hours we waited 30 minutes for dish. The dish was very good and tasty.

True to the motto: nice, but have you ever been to Baden-Württemberg? The service was overwhelmed, card payments weren't possible and you had to wait quite a long time for everything. That was all okay, but somehow it was annoying..

Nice to sit outside by the Spree. The beer was delicious in the best sunshine. And the food was great too. You had to wait a bit, but it was still within limits.

Tried to order a drink at the bar inside based on the shifting prices. Staff refused to serve us and sent us to a table outside, and then refused to apply the prices from the board. Doesn't function as advertised and staff were quite aggressive and rude.

The food is amazing, fresh, traditional German cuisine served in a friendly vibrant restaurant with excellent staff. They have a wife variety of beers on offer and show international sports. The location on the river is brilliant, could not fault it. The portions are very large, you can get take away boxes if needed.

Arrived at around 8pm and stayed until 1am. First we sat outside by the river, played cards, watched football and enjoyed really good food and beer. Then we moved inside. Staff were friendly and the overall vibe was really good. Highly recommend.

The view of the river is beautiful and the atmosphere of the place is good. But every now and then an unpleasant sewage smell came in, which is why the experience was not so good. The food is traditional. The times I have gone I ordered Pizza, which was very delicious. We also tried the Strudel. The waiter was trying to speak in Spanish, which is appreciated.

A very friendly Bangla served us but it took 1 hour to serve some sausages and when I go to the counter to ask for explanations (calmly and politely) they tell me that it was only 10 minutes ago that they received the order. Then I ask for a second beer (the first one was already on my ankles) it takes almost 10 minutes to serve it. Camaruta course in Granada, Jaén or Almería and they wake up in zero coma

Luces y sombras. Bien el sabor de la comida y la terracita junto al Spree. Pedimos salchichas para 2 y bratwurst adicional. A mejorar y mucho: el servicio. Nos atendió un bangla muy simpático pero 1h para servir unas salchichas y cuando voy a la barra a pedir explicaciones (con calma y educación) me dicen que solo hace 10’ que les había llegado el pedido. Luego pido repetir cerveza (la 1a la tenía ya en los tobillos) tardan casi 10’ en servirla. Curso de camaruta en Granada, Jaén o Almería y espabilan en cero coma Y del rollo ese de que mejora el precio como la bolsa nada de nada. A 7€ la Paulaner y a 7,5€ agua de 75 ml

The food is medium quality too rel. high prices. However, the location is just great. The currywurst is great though. Radler was very tasty, the roulade with ready-made sauerkraut was not that good. Somewhat burnt!

A typical overpriced tourist rip off!!! Please go somewhere else. Expensive, Indian waiter unfriendly and overwhelmed, after 20 minutes of waiting and after asking 3 times we finally placed the drink order... after a 2 hour stay we were happy to be able to leave. However, the ambience was very nice.

The situation in the Berlin Republic is incredibly good. It's really nice to sit by the river on a hot day. It was stupid, we were there without a reservation, and when we politely asked for a place right by the water, we were told that it was more for guests who ordered food. It's rather rude to say that directly to paying customers. Beer was nice, unfortunately the beer exchange that we were there for didn't work. The homemade iced tea was delicious and very, very fairly priced (€4.90 for 0.5).

We stopped in spontaneously to have a leisurely meal. The staff was very friendly. Food and drink were plentiful and delicious. The prices are increased but within reason. We found the selection of beers particularly good

Tourist trap, small currywurst €15.50, dirty, 2/3 glass is filled with ice cubes, friendly staff! Still not recommended!
