Arrived at around 8pm and stayed until 1am. First we sat outside by the river, played cards, watched football and enjoyed really good food and beer. Then we moved inside. Staff were friendly and the overall vibe was really good. Highly recommend.

Nos atendió un bangla muy simpático pero 1h para servir unas salchichas y cuando voy a la barra a pedir explicaciones (con calma y educación) me dicen que solo hace 10’ que les había llegado el pedido. Luego pido repetir cerveza (la 1a la tenía ya en los tobillos) tardan casi 10’ en servirla. Curso de camaruta en Granada, Jaén o Almería y espabilan en cero coma Y del rollo ese de que mejora el precio como la bolsa nada de nada. A 7€ la Paulaner y a 7,5€ agua de 75 ml

The situation in the Berlin Republic is incredibly good. It's really nice to sit by the river on a hot day. It was stupid, we were there without a reservation, and when we politely asked for a place right by the water, we were told that it was more for guests who ordered food. It's rather rude to say that directly to paying customers. Beer was nice, unfortunately the beer exchange that we were there for didn't work. The homemade iced tea was delicious and very, very fairly priced (€4.90 for 0.5).

We stopped in spontaneously to have a leisurely meal. The staff was very friendly. Food and drink were plentiful and delicious. The prices are increased but within reason. We found the selection of beers particularly good

Amazing food and great ambiance

Das Restaurant scheint komplett in indischer Hand zu sein. Das Bier war ok, recht große Auswahl. Leider war das Essen eine Zumutung, dem Touri kann man alles vorsetzen, es muss nur "Berlin" im Namen vorkommen.

For our men's group of 7 people, a unanimous opinion > that was 0.0 nothing! The star ⭐️ for service goes to the young lady who brought us drinks every now and then. Waiters very unfriendly at the beginning and end. In between he always tried hard. Flamkuchen as a starter... 1 x lukewarm and 1x cold. Waiting time for food and drinks underground up to 1.5 hours. Potato salad horrible, potatoes half raw and overly acidic. Meatballs felt warmed up in the microwave?! There are many snack bars that can do better. We complained politely but firmly and communicated our opinion. But nobody was interested. The hammer at the end when paying... (several hundred euros 💶) the waiter complains about not enough tips and demands a higher amount!! No tip at all would have been fair. No dear management, good gastronomy is different. We won't be coming back, but there are other great traditional restaurants in Berlin where it's worth going.

Ordered 2 Veltins and got 2 Veltins glasses with cheap plörre, was asked about it and laughed at, but then there was Veltins in the glass

Tourist trap!!! Drink yes, eat no It's not worth the money to eat here at all!! For the price stated here it's a NoGo!! I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel (veal) which wasn't a Wiener Schnitzel. I complained about it and got something better. Colleague had stake with fried potatoes, which were dipped in oil but had no fried taste as it should be. The rice pudding was more paste than rice pudding, apple compote was a spoonful of applesauce for a large plate. The dumplings from the second colleague were okay. Only potato soup was satisfactory. Price performance ratio is not okay. Definitely not a recommendation

Is a sports cafe. We wanted to drink a Viennese drink, but they opened all the televisions, even though no one asked, and showed football loudly. We asked them to close the TV, but they didn't.

I was having dinner with the family. It gets 2 stars because I felt cheated. The place is nice because it is next to the river and the food is correct. The problem is that when placing the order we indicated that we had the Welcome Berlin and the surprise was that they told us that it was only valid if you had it printed, because digitally, which is how we have it directly from the official BVG application, they could copy it. And not printed???? It's the most implausible excuse I've ever been given. They don't know that we are in the digital age. Please, who already has anything printed???? Be careful because I think they will invent any other excuse not to apply the Welcome card discount. They will know of course with us that we had the hotel next door they lost some clients

Recommended for a nightcap on Friedrichstrasse with a beautiful outdoor terrace. However, the service is not overly friendly or attentive.

Food and location good. Aaaab! : The Mojito and Cuba Libre contained at most 1/2 cl of rum! Definitely a tourist trap. Drink your beer and long drinks etc where you can get honest drinks!

We ate schnitzel and sausage. The sausage was not bad, but the schnitzel was too oily and we sent it back immediately. In general, we were satisfied, but we were subjected to a change in type when getting an account. 10 euros were quickly deducted from the card for the service, which did not deserve a tip other than a few euros. The old waiter is a cheerful person, but he is unforgiving when the bill comes :)))

A traditional German meal on a quiet afternoon, the food was very tasty with big portions, one meal would easily be enough for 2 people. Beers were nice and cold. Service was quick and friendly, however when it came to paying the experience changed when you are all most guilt tripped into leaving a tip. I would have left a tip in cash on the table had it not been for the cheeky comment made by the waiter when we paid with card and didn’t change the total amount on his card machine. A good experience for food but let down at the very end.

Very unfriendly young lady at the counter. Ordered and received a beer around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, but because we did not want to order food, we were told that this was not the intention and that we were not actually allowed to sit there. Just drank the beer and left. A few hours later we sat down there again for dinner. After ordering drinks and food, a table became available by the water where we wanted to sit. When the drinks were brought and we asked if we could sit there, we were turned away by this same young lady. We got up and left. The young lady in question brought in another colleague to stop us because we had already ordered. Finally we left there and let the staff know that we left because of her “customer friendliness”. Delicious food around the corner and very friendly service.

Six of us went there as part of the 25% promotion that we could get with the “Berlin Welcome Card”. The dishes ordered were very good, there is a large selection of beers on tap, the service was perfect and in a good mood. With the discount the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located on the platforms with a beautiful outdoor space and a stone's throw from the "Friedrich Strasse" station.

Abid is really a nice waiter and the food tastes great, recommended

The place was very crowded and the service was slow. There was an issue with our bill - they brought something we hadn’t ordered, but we thought it was part of the meal (pork knuckle) but it was removed after we challenged it. Bill wasn’t printed, just showed on tablet. They did push a bit for a tip but it didn’t really bother me

Very touristy, the currwurst was ok, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here for that reason. Basically, I would recommend visiting the Berlin Republic and the Permanent Representation just for a small beer, as the shops are definitely worth seeing.

The Berlin Flammkuchen was something very special and really tasty. Unfortunately the coffee was extremely strong.

Very attentive and courteous staff. The food is top notch and it's a lot of fun to watch the beer market from 5 p.m. and order your beer depending on the price. The house beer is particularly recommended.

Great location by the water. Nice service and acceptable prices. My fries were good, the food that passed by looked very good and plentiful.

The ambience is really very nice, outdoor seating right on the water. The staff was overall friendly. The cappuccino tasted good, but the quality of the food is very far from the higher prices. At a price of 9.50 euros, the apple strudel was certainly tasty, but the vanilla sauce, vanilla ice cream and cream were in the cheapest category. I also had to wait about 45 minutes for it. Not recommended.

I was served the worst schnitzel of my life. The schnitzel is completely dry and tough, the fried potatoes are soggy and soaked in oil. Onions of the fried potatoes sweetheart burnt. Absolutely disgusting. Service unfriendly. Pure rip-off and food inedible.

I had that big pork thing, it was huge so I shared it. It was delicious. We were served by Muhammed who was friendly and very efficient. I enjoyed everything. No wi fi there, I think on purpose so you can just enjoy the experience.

It's big (lol) Berliner Knuckle of Pork is Pork knee meat is simmered in chunks, Salty and melty on the outside. There's plenty of meat inside like a turkey leg. Pork Schnitzel has a fragrant batter. The meat was thicker than the one I had in Vienna. The flesh remained Mixed Salad small is A nice smooth dressing Raw vegetables are delicious! The beer is Berliner Pilsner. Tastes like beer. Food was very good, but we waited over 40 minutes for a drink and over 1.5 hours for food. But it could also be because of the European Championships - but the place wasn't overcrowded

Food rating is beer rating. We had only beer. Prime riverside location with table service means beers fully priced. I had a large Bitburger Pils, one of 18 beers on tap. Perhaps this selection was too many as my beer, nicely presented and well chilled, was, unfortunately, decidedly flat.

It was all good until the waiter complained because apparently there wasn't enough tip 🙈 His answer is correct or not at all I've already experienced a lot but this shoots the bird 🤣

Very nice restaurant and a nice waitress but the boss and a waiter were very unsympathetic and we had to wait an hour for the drinks and another hour for the food.

They are not direct, they are straight up rude. The only good thing was the beer and you can literally get that everywhere in Germany. Find a better place.

We went to drink German beer and it was very good. But the waiter service was terrible. The waiter did not help us at all and answered questions irritably. Nice restaurant on the Spree. There are a few organizational deficiencies in the service, but the quality of the food and the ambience are good.

The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We experienced delays right from the start, having to wait a significant amount of time to be seated and even longer to receive a menu and place our orders. The most frustrating part was the food service; we ordered schnitzel and a sausage platter, but only received the sausage platter more than 30 minutes after the schnitzel. The waitstaff acknowledged their mistake of giving our platter to another table, yet rather than apologizing or compensating for the error, they argued and raised their voices at us when we mildly complained. Initially, they suggested offering a complimentary drink to make amends, but instead, they created an embarrassing scene. To make matters worse, the roof started leaking due to the rain, soaking customers and their food. The employees were rude and irritable throughout the experience, ultimately demanding that we leave. This was a terrible dining experience, and I strongly advise against visiting this establishment. The man in the photo was one of those who argued with us.

Absolute worst service EVER. We waited a while to get seated and even longer to get a menu or order food. What was worse was the fact how we ordered schnitzel and a sausage platter to only get the sausage platter over 30 minutes after the schnitzel. The waiters made an excuse that they had given the platter to another table and admitted their mistake but instead of apologising or making up for the mistake they instead argued and yelled at us for our light complaining. Before they started a scene, they hinted that they would give us a complimentary drink but instead threw an embarrassing fit. It was raining and the whole roof started leaking on people and their food. I was so disappointed at how rude and cranky these employees were and how they demanded us to leave. HORRIBLE service. Do not come here. The man in the photo argued with us.

I can only rate the cocktails, they were really completely undrinkable. The caipirinha tasted like pure alcohol with water and the espresso martini wasn't tasty either. But the waiter was super friendly and the ambience by the water is also very nice.

Normally they don’t do takeaway, but the staff was nice allowing us to takeaway and sausages mixed plate was the best one I’ve had in Berlin while travelling.

More than good experience. Good food and decent choice of beers. Quite central place, excellent location and with plenty of seating. Prices normal (for being in the centre). By presenting the Welcome Card at the beginning you can benefit from a discount that doesn't hurt... on the contrary.

We went on a recommendation and it was a disappointment. The food was average and on top of that we followed a waiter's recommendation and ordered much more than necessary. The atmosphere is not very pleasant, inside the noise coming from other tables is hellish. Let's say the acoustics are bad. But the worst was the service. Insufficient number of waiters, we had to request orders several times and the waiting time was very long. And finally, they "forced" us to pay a tip to the point that the waiter directly marked the amount of tip he considered on the dataphone. Obviously we didn't pay for it and we had to fight with him.

Ein großes Lob an die Bedienung, leider wissen wir die Namen des weißhaarigen Herrn und der gut gebräunten Dame nicht, aber die Art und Weise des Umgangs mit den Gästen war toll. Das Lokal kann sich glücklich schätzen, solches Personal zu haben. Behaltet euch eure Lockerheit und Freundlichkeit, ihr beide seid etwas ganz Besonderes. Bleibt so, wie ihr seid.

Ho cenato con la mia famiglia. Il locale è molto caratteristico e piacevole e i tavoli sono disposti bene. Il cibo è tipico berlinese. Ho apprezzato la tomato soup molto diversa rispetto a quella italiana, ma sicuramente gustosa. I secondi sono un po’ troppo elaborati nel senso di contorni molto speziati che rendono difficile terminare completamente i piatti. Il servizio al tavolo decisamente lento anche se chiacchierando molto non te ne accorgi più di tanto. Comunque il posto merita alla fine una visita.

Only ordered two drinks and a garlic bread. Drinks came quite quickly, the bread took 40 minutes to arrive. Bread was very tasty, but absolutely incomprehensible why it took 40 minutes. Waiters were unfriendly when asked and when bringing the bread.

We have gone to Berlin between friends to enjoy for a weekend. we have decided to eat close to the river as the sun was out and have selected the "Die Berliner Republik". Even though the food was good, the service was terrible! they took more than 40 min to bring our food and even though this was not the worst issue. The waiter called "sultan" was extremely rude. When telling him so, his excuse was to tell us he was treating all customers the same!!! when we were done paying his only words was "next time go to the restaurant next door!". What is for sure is that we will never go back or recommend this restaurant! the owner of this restaurant should really look after his waiters as they are making this experience terrible even though the cook did a good job. Such a shame!

Longer waiting time until the menu was brought and the drinks were taken. The food was standard run of the mill. The only thing worth mentioning is that it's more breading than meat, the Wienerschnitzel (pork). Side dish of mushy unsalted fries. 30 € is a steep price without a side salad and a shandy. Ultimately you pay for the location directly on the Spree. Very tight seating. There was constant jostling at the table and chair. We waited almost 25 minutes for the bill. The hint was given several times that they wanted numbers. Well, there's always something going on thanks to the tourists.

The whole concept of beer prices that fluctuate over time falls flat on its face when you wait >15 minutes for the beer to come - do you then pay the price from when you ordered or when you got it? Fun concept, bad execution. Furthermore, the waiter mentioned a lot that we leave before our table was reserved by someone else - sure, we got it the first time. And then when we didn't tip we got a comment like "you get slow service when you don't tip". No, I don't tip because I get slow service. The schnitzel was tasty and tender, and the Kölsch was delicious, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Lovely bar with good service. The 5 beers for 7 euros are incredible.
