The Gasthaus Adler is a truly wonderful place to eat and celebrate – especially with its history as a hostel for the Kronberg artists' colony. The preparations with Tobias Bößmann and Cara Westenberger for our party in October filled us with anticipation for a lovely evening: a reception and dinner in the restaurant, followed by further festivities in the Adler cellar. The service was attentive, discreet, and exceptionally friendly. Our guests and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and festive evening. Thank you to the Adler team!

Old building with a modern, clean interior and design. Very tasty food, see the veal schnitzel and venison goulash. Both are highly recommended.

We've been here a few times, but this will probably be the last. The schnitzel is very thin, the service is mediocre, and the delicious bread from the past is no longer available. The portions are also unfortunately quite small, sometimes. A shame for such a beautiful location.

From the previous answers from HR3's wannabe Tobi, it's clear that this person is completely unacceptable. It's usually the guest's fault, and of course, he can't do anything about the overpriced prices. Maybe he should stick with the radio, where he can't break anything.

We had a wonderful dinner, and everything from the food to the ambiance was just perfect. The inn is tastefully yet comfortably decorated. The Austrian dishes (with a Hessian touch) were high-quality and delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back!

I tried it for Schlemmerblock and was impressed. Excellent service, from the welcome to the unobtrusive but attentive service in a pleasant atmosphere – accompanied by truly excellent cuisine that I can recommend without hesitation.

We went there for the first time and definitely won't be back. While the Wiener Schnitzel plate was generously filled with two giant schnitzels that were extremely thin, the Cordon Bleu dish was served with a smaller roll of meat. Overall, everything was unseasoned and lacked the typical flavor you would expect from a restaurant that serves Austrian food. You had to order extra sauce to be able to swallow the dishes because they were so dry. The only option was red wine sauce for a whopping €7. The service in particular was anything but accommodating. We don't understand hospitality at all. We'd rather refrain from further comment. Given the high prices everywhere these days, the overall impression here is completely unacceptable.

The Gasthaus Adler is always a delight. Yesterday we attended a themed event for the first time: the BBQ at the Rezepturhof. The event was very loving and atmospheric. Perfect for a wedding anniversary, which I celebrated with my wife yesterday. The grill master gave it his all. Meat, fish, and vegetables—everything was grilled to perfection, and the quality was, as always, very high. The service staff was simply perfect, something rare these days. As a special surprise, the Kronberg Music Association accompanied the event. Conclusion: highly recommended. We're already looking forward to the next event on October 3, 2025, the Oktoberfest—"do san mia dabei" (We'll be there). 😄

We were on vacation in Germany with friends and had a wonderful evening at the Adler in Kronberg. Even the appetizers were delicious, and the schnitzel – simply outstanding! Everything we tried was truly delicious. The ambiance is very pleasant and cozy, perfect for enjoying with friends. We really appreciated the visit and would definitely come back.

5 stars are simply not enough. This is my third time here and I couldn't be happier. The service, the ambiance, and the food are simply amazing. The Adler BBQ is a must-visit; it's highly recommended. A big compliment to the wonderful Tobi; he and his kitchen team work magic in the kitchen. We will definitely be back.

A birthday party with a worry-free experience – simply perfect! From the beginning of the planning to the end of the evening – everything was just perfect. The team around Cara, Tobi, and Marcel put together a truly all-round, worry-free package for us, where we felt in good hands from the very first minute. Even during the planning phase, it was clear: These are professionals at work who bring not only experience but also passion. Whether it was decoration ideas, menu design, or the schedule – the restaurant team had great suggestions and was always open to our wishes. It was noticeable that they regularly organize such events to a high standard and think through everything down to the last detail. The location itself is an absolute dream: a champagne reception in the recipe courtyard, followed by a stylish flying buffet in the restaurant area – perfect for a relaxed welcome and initial conversations. And from 10 p.m. onwards, we headed down to the vaulted cellar, where the party really got going. We had our own DJ, including a live singer and singer, and everything went smoothly there, too. Two well-prepared meetings with the restaurant beforehand (technology, schedule, details) ensured that everything ran smoothly on the evening itself. Thanks to the soundproof vaulted cellar, we were able to party and dance loudly until 4 a.m. without disturbing anyone. A real highlight! The evening was also a complete culinary success. The food was consistently fantastic – my personal favorite: the currywurst at midnight – just what you need after dancing. And the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was so good that even our Austrian guest devoured it with a big grin. That's saying something! In conclusion: I highly recommend this venue and the entire team. I'm completely happy that I celebrated here – and would do it again anytime!

Where's the meat in the Wiener Schnitzel? Despite some critical reviews about the unusual and meager thickness of the veal, it's still as thin as a slice of ham. Accordingly, it barely holds up against the taste of the breading. We found it worrying that we were both very thirsty after the meal, which could indicate the use of flavor enhancers. But surely not at the Adler, right? After this experience, we're finally turning our backs on this restaurant. We've given it four chances and were always rather disappointed. The ambiance is nice. When it's not busy, the noise level is okay. Unfortunately, the waiter often runs outside to smoke. One hopes he washes his hands properly afterward. The prices are higher than other similar restaurants in Kronberg.

Leider war ich heute enttäuscht vom Essen. Risotto breiig, absolut ohne Biss, einige wenige Spargel- und Pilzstücke. Das Gericht war schon sehr fettig, darüber war noch eine Sauce Hollandaise geschichtet, die nicht dazu gepasst hat und auch auf der Karte nicht aufgeführt war. Ich hatte mich auf ein schlotziges, zitroniges Risotto gefreut, nicht auf eine fettige Pampe. Das dazu reservierte Lachsfilet war o.k. Das Spargelgericht meiner Freundin war in Ordnung, nur war der Spargel nicht mehr warm. Es ist immer ein schlechtes Zeichen, wenn das Essen in 10 Minuten serviert wird.

Wine is great, pasta exceptional, Kaiserschmarrn incredibly good.

Some say the only real restaurant in Kronberg. In any case the best.

It was a while back on February 27th, 2025, but I have to express my disappointment. Went here several times with customers 3 years ago because I really liked the furnishings, service and food. Now for a special occasion, I wanted to end the day successfully... unfortunately the food couldn't match the ambience. From the heavily reduced menu we chose the consommé and the Wiener Schnitzel. The broth lacked any power and the presumably frosted parsley in it was also dead. Then the pale schnitzels resembled the PNP schnitzel, the veal was reduced to the thickness of a cooked slice of ham (real 2mm) under the otherwise good, only pale breading around a good 2 cm, something is no longer right. We were also disappointed and skipped dessert. It's a shame that profit maximization was prioritized here too.

Such a beautiful place in the old town of Kronberg. Today was the first time I went to Adler with my husband but definitely not the last time... Inspired by a TikTok post, we visited this restaurant. The Adler is a very nice restaurant in downtown Kronberg. Chic interior, very friendly welcome and attentive service. Unfortunately, we were unlucky that evening because the dining experience didn't fit in with the rest of the restaurant. We all ate schnitzel at the table. These were very attractively presented on the plate together with the homemade potato salad. The schnitzels came out super thin and unfortunately almost unseasoned together with the breading - I have never eaten such a wafer-thin veal schnitzel in my life. Unfortunately it didn't taste the same as I know the delicious schnitzels from Austria. We were particularly disappointed with the Kaiserschmarrn. This was served burnt with a lot of powdered sugar, which made it taste bitter, hard and not as fluffy as we know it. According to the waiter, it is always prepared and served this way. The rubbish was taken back without any problems and was not charged.

Unfortunately we weren't happy with the food as there were 12 people there and only 2 people thought the food was good. Sorry and way too expensive.

The best Wiener Schnitzel north of Vienna. The restaurant has been lovingly restored and is located right at the entrance to Kornberg's old town. Berliner Platz car park 5 minutes away. A modern ambience mixes with the half-timbering and exudes cosiness. A friendly greeting is always included. And Marcel Wagner couldn't be a better owner. The Wiener Schnitzel is to die for. The portions are large overall. The game goulash, trout and duck breast have also been completely convincing so far. Everything tastes good here. If you want to spend a cozy evening with delicious food, go to Adler! 🦅

Nach gut 2 Jahren Unterbrechung waren wir wieder beim Adler zu Gast. Leider waren wir nicht mehr ganz so zufrieden mit unserem besuch wie beim letzten Mal. Die Speisenkarte ist sehr übersichtlich geworden und hatbei den hauptgänegen nur mehr 6 Gerichte zur Auswahl. Ich hatte mich auf das Wiener Schnitzel gefreut, welches auch optisch vielversprechend aussah. Es ist ja bekannt, dass ein Wiener Schnitzel sehr dünn sein muss, wenn allerdings dann nach dem Braten an vielen Stellen nur mehr die Panade übrigbleibt, dann stimmt etwas nicht. Also, sehr wenig Fleisch für €28,- . Auch die Tortellono haben nicht überzeugt. Diese waren sehr al dente und wurden nur mit etwas Spinat und etwas Schaum serviert. Wir hatten uns auch auf den Kaiserschmarrn gefreut, haben uns dann aber entschieden diesen nicht zu bestellen, da er am Nachbartisch sehr dunkelbraun bis fast schwarz serviert wurde.

I was very excited to try this place based off of reviews and photos. We walked up as they were unlocking the doors for opening. The only thing I can rate well is the consommé, which came different than pictured in previous reviews (everything chopped up in a very small bowl with only one cheeseball). For the main courses we ordered schnitzel and fried salmon. The presentation is very nice but everything else is underwhelming. First, the salmon, The risotto flavors do not make sense and come off dessert-ish. The foam and oil in the plate do not compliment one another and overall leave a bad taste with the microgreens piled on top. The schnitzel (which was regarded as the best in town), seemed to be as thin as sliced ham and the batter had no binding. A ridiculous amount of breading and soggy overall. These seem to be made from frozen? The potato/cucumber salad was very mushed and starchy, indicating it had been set and not strained. Once again a pile of microgreens where they do not belong and do not compliment. Both of these dishes were somehow overly sweet and ridiculously SALTY! Chugging water and dehydrated, salty. We also got desert, hoping it would save the day. The icecream (salted caramel) was delicious. The cheese plate was the other desert (also not as pictured in other reviews, but things change). The cheeseplate was a small array of cheeses that tasted, well, like nothing and string cheese. The plate was over run with "fruit mustard" which was off-putting, but the apple paste was good. I would've been happy with this experience for two at around €55, but this was €102 plus expected tip (which I did leave as none of this is the waiters fault). Another surprise I saw on my bill was the 19% "vat tax". So, unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount on food that is, to say the least, subpar and overdressed, I would avoid. Better for cheaper resides elsewhere.

It was a successful evening all around. Got a table spontaneously on a Sunday evening without a reservation. Super courteous service. A boss who remains calm despite stress and still has time for a few words with the guests. The interpretation of the Handkäs is particularly recommended. Very chic, recommended restaurant where everything is right. Service was very attentive and friendly. The food was a 10 out of 10. The only thing worth noting is the higher wine prices. We were there with small children and a high chair and painting supplies were provided to us. Thank you for the lovely evening, we would love to come back.

We had dinner there this evening with the Schlemmerblock and were warmly welcomed. The friendly host (from Luxembourg) was incredibly accommodating, available for a nice chat and someone who knew his job. I don't know the last time my wife and I received such great service. We felt very comfortable. The Wiener Schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarrn are a dream. Also the good wine and the good Stiegl beer. 10 stars for the service, the food and the ambience! We'll be back!!!!

The food is really a treat for the palate, especially the Wiener Schnitzel is highly recommended! The atmosphere is very chic. Unfortunately, one star was deducted because the waiter came across as a bit arrogant towards us and unfortunately spoiled our feel-good atmosphere.

Yesterday we had dinner at Adler for my birthday. My impression is a little mixed... What I definitely have to mention very positively is the very courteous service to the guests - that's really worth 5 stars... very attentive and quick... Starter beef tartar top - you really can't complain about that, the hand cheese was also good... Main course, well... my husband had the gnocchi, which was unfortunately overcooked and totally over-seasoned, the boiled beef which I had was TOP... Dessert Kaiserschmarn, Unfortunately it wasn't homemade and was burnt and hard...the white chocolate parfait was too hard in my opinion - looked more like a lump of ice cream. The plates were nicely prepared - the kitchen team can definitely… The restaurant also has a good selection of wines, this is where lovers come in! The prices are not excessive either... What I think is a shame, the food and wine list on the internet is unfortunately not up to date - especially when it comes to wines, I was looking forward to one or two wines in advance - but the vintages and wines were no longer available... Nevertheless, we found two great bottles... We will definitely give the Adler a second chance and stop by again…. Best regards

Food very tasty! (schnitzel was perfect) Unfortunately service can be improved... Very long waiting times for service, the table wasn't cleared for a long time, no question was asked if you wanted anything else. The restaurant wasn't full, but apparently the service was still a bit overwhelmed. Or you haven't seen an employee for a long time. For a rather high-priced restaurant, the service needs to be much more attentive. It's also a shame (the wrong food was also brought to the table and then we had to wait 20 minutes for the right one)

Recently I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Adler Kronberg and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From arrival to departure everything was perfect. Ambience: The restaurant impresses with its cozy and inviting ambience. The furnishings are modern and stylish without appearing cold or sterile. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. Service: The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Our questions were answered competently and our wishes were promptly fulfilled. You could tell that the staff put their heart and soul into their work. Eat: The food was simply delicious! I had the Wiener Schnitzel, which was fried to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, the breading was crispy and the side dishes were fresh and appetizing. Particularly noteworthy were the spaetzle, which were perfectly prepared and had a wonderful taste. Finally, I treated myself to the Kaiserschmarrn, which was also a poem. Light, fluffy and with a delicate sweetness – simply perfect! Conclusion: The Adler Kronberg restaurant is highly recommended! Everything is just right here: ambience, service and food. If you love Austrian cuisine and are looking for a special culinary experience, this is the right place for you. I will definitely come again!

Top service Mega eat has never been disappointed

We have now been to Adler four times and each time we have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and service. Yesterday a classic for the asparagus season: asparagus with veal schnitzel. It was fantastic. There is now a small Kaiserschmarrn on the menu (still enough for two people) - a delight with roasted walnuts and super fresh applesauce. A real recommendation. Service was courteous, warm and with the guest in mind. In this respect: 5 stars.

Very delicious meal! I ordered the lamb shank special. It was cooked really well and came with paprika along with smooth and buttery mashed potatoes. It was paired with some delicious white wine. The service was very professional and the waiter was very attentive the whole time. The desert was also delicious, we had “Kaiserschmarrn”. Atmosphere is modern and comfy set in a beautiful historic building.

And then the delicious Austrian cuisine - where else can you get SUCH a great Wiener Schnitzel? Certainly not even in Vienna! And when I look at the menu, there is still a lot to discover and try at Gasthaus Adler - and that's exactly what I'm going to do! My absolute recommendation for an (already multiple) award-winning guesthouse!

Unser absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant im schönen Taunus! Wunderbare Atmosphäre, stilvolles Ambiente und erstklassiges, köstliches Essen! Bei Marcel fühlen wir uns immer super wohl! Übrigens sehr hundefreundlich. Und wenn es einen guten Anlass zum Feiern gibt, kommen wir immer wieder gerne aus Frankfurt hierher.

Das Essen war super lecker, geschmacklich wirklich sehr gut! Das Servicepersonal ist überaus freundlich! Man fühlt sich sehr wohl, cooles Ambiente! Preise sind gehoben, aber die Qualität des Essens auch!👌🏻

Die Bedienung erkennt nicht, dass Kommunikation zwei Richtungen hat. Bei mir war es so, dass die Kellner etwas zu mir sagten oder mich etwas fragten, aber nicht willens waren, das von mir Gesagte anzunehmen. Die Bedienung stammt aus dem Ausland oder aus bildungsfernen Schichten oder erfüllt beide Gruppenmerkmale. Peinlich wird es, wenn nur ein, zwei Gäste im Gastraum sind: Dann schwirren die Kellner völlig sinnfrei im Raum herum, und die Unsicherheit und die Nervosität stehen ihnen in das Gesicht geschrieben. Gut ist die Getränke- und Speisekarte.

Schön ist's dort. Und gut. Die gehobene Küche lässt man sich, zurecht, auch gut bezahlen. Wir waren zu Acht dort und haben Vorspeise, Hauptgang und auch Nachtisch verspeist. Die Tafelspitz-Consomée mit Klößchen zum Start war gehaltvoll und wohlschmeckend. Karotten- und Selleriewürfel, Frühlingslauch, ein gebratener Leberknödel und ein Käseknödel (?) haben diese gute Suppe abgerundet. Drei der vier Männer am Tisch haben dann die Medium-Palette ausgereizt. Je einmal medium-rare, medium und medium-well beim Rib Eye Steak mit Kartoffelstampf. Bei allen Dreien war es auf den Punkt. Dazu Fleisch in top Qualität, das mit wunderbaren Röstaromen auf den Teller kam. Die Salat-Gemüse-Bowl mit Backhendl-Streifen, die meine Frau hatte, war wohl auch top. Der Kaiserschmarrn zum Finale war ein echter Genuss und der Ratschlag unseres Obers, eine Portion für vier Personen zu nehmen, war nicht nur wohlgemeint sondern, wegen der schieren Größe auch zutreffend. Es war ein toller und genussvoller Abend und das Einzige, was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat, war das sehr kumpelhafte Umgehen der Ober mit den Gästen. Ansonsten: Geht hin und genießt das gute Essen dort.
