Almresi Metzingen in Metzingen

We were at the restaurant on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The Swiss Rösti with salmon I chose was disappointingly potato pancakes. The salmon was good, but there could have been a bit more of it. The accompanying horseradish sauce went very well with it. The price of €17.80 is reasonable.

We ordered schnitzel with spaetzle and the vegetarian curry. The schnitzel came from the deep fryer and the spaetzle from a packet. The curry was very good and went perfectly with the rösti. I ordered an Aperol Spritz with a little ice. Unfortunately, the glass was full of ice, and my aperitif tasted very watery. The ambiance is very nice, and the dishes are individually prepared. You probably pay extra for that here. I would have preferred regional beers on tap and Tyrolean delicacies. I can eat schnitzel anywhere. I only ordered the curry because it was the only dish without meat or wheat.

For the outlet in Metzingen, good food with a great atmosphere and very good service.

Nicely furnished restaurant with fun decorations. Funny for the children: a robot drives with the empty plates. You can sit in gondolas outside.

The food was good. I ordered fritatten soup for starter, I forgot to take a picture of Bavarian schnitzel but it was good.

No plant based milk for the coffee. There was a bad strawberries in the Kaiserschmarren. Service was friendly and quick.

The ambience borders on Austrian but from my point of view it is more Bavarian or Alpine ;) That's why Alm is in the name, I guess:) Still very nice chairs, lamps etc with good design and tables with WOW! It's all very simple but luxurious in a way! The service is very nice because you are welcomed straight away and have enough time to choose something to eat and drink :|) But sometimes you just have to wait a bit at the entrance because there is a lot going on, but you can understand that once you've eaten there! The food comes to you beautifully prepared and warm. Well seasoned, rounds it off! There is also something for children.

A nice and cozy place with good food

We sat outside in the best weather and were able to place our order normally with the waiter. We ordered a salad plate and got the tastiest one we had ever eaten. The atmosphere is great. You have that typical holiday feeling. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back. A big thank you to the team!

Extremely unfriendly and arrogant service! It takes away any desire to eat! We're happy to spend money on food, but with that reception, every cent is wasted! We left immediately after the unfriendly greeting. They should take a look at the restaurants abroad; it's a world of difference! Highly recommended!

We were spontaneously in Metzingen on Shrove Monday and were referred here on the recommendation of a Haribo employee. The two of us got a table straight away at around 2 p.m. The atmosphere is very pleasant, typically Austrian and rustic. The service was very friendly and the food came relatively quickly (about 15 minutes). The photo speaks for itself, it was super tasty. The portion was big enough and we were well full. At the end we shared an apple strudel, which was also very tasty. Prices are a bit high given the quality of the food, but perfectly fine. We would love to come back 🤗

A wonderful restaurant on the territory of the outlet. I will even say that he is the best here. The coolest thing is that even on a weekend there are no crowds of visitors in the evening. We came at 18:00 on Saturday and there were many free tables, unlike other cafes in the outlet. Serving food 5 stars. Yesterday we had cheese fondue at this restaurant and it was simply delicious! The presentation was great and the taste unforgettable. The staff were very friendly and attentive - really first class service. The furnishings with lots of real wood are simply beautiful and create a cozy, authentic atmosphere. Absolutely recommended!

German thematic restaurant with matching decor and wait staff uniform. Have fondue in a gondola or enjoy a schnitzel sitting on cow hide covered bench or chairs. Suspended panaches and cow bells for light fixtures, it has a charming local ambience. Food was on par with the theme, with well loved fondue, bratwurst, pretzels, schnitzels and spatzels or potato salad. Most staff spoke English. Greeter was polite and welcoming but wait staff fell short of being pleasant - a pity. We’ve been a couple of times, attracted by the selection on the menu and its proximity to the outlet shops.

Unique Alpine ambience and great concept! Furnished like a hut, the staff are appropriately dressed and even the music is appropriate. The tables are in cozy corners and lovingly decorated, and the food is beautifully presented. The staff is always really nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the prices are very high and the menu could do with 2-3 more meat dishes.

Locally very chic in Alpine style. The staff was on point, everything went quite quickly. The food was very attractively prepared, the schnitzels weren't that great. Ready-made schnitzel from the deep fryer, also too small for the price.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Is a restaurant with the charm of an alpine hut, but with modern furnishings. The staff has really nice dirndels and lederhosen. I can recommend the schnitzel with spaetzle, raisin berries and cream sauce, the cheese spaetzle and the Bailagen salad. It is busy at lunchtime, so make a reservation with more people if possible. With 4 people we still got a place. Many thanks to the whole team.

Had a reservation for today, drove an extra 30 km and in the end the shop was closed! I received a reservation confirmation by email! Very sobering! Since you have to/should make reservations everywhere these days, it wasn't that easy to find something. There is a lot of catching up to do with the Almresihompage reservation platform! It might not be possible to make a reservation on a day when the restaurant is closed! We had specifically looked for a location that had good reviews and the ambience looked appealing, but now we have a bad impression...

Ambiance of course very great. Service dressed appropriately for the Alm and also super friendly. Even though we arrived shortly before closing time. The pork schnitzel had a strong smell of pork. Okay, it's pork too, but it doesn't smell that strong otherwise. The cream sauce was a bit thin. This can definitely be done better. The salad with beetroot was good.

Was there for the first time and was absolutely not disappointed. From the ambience to the service, everything was great. The food was also more than great. The food was really delicious, I also had Glühwein and Apfel Strudel, both amazing. If you wanna try traditional German food, this is definitely the right spot . Service was also very good, helpful and quick.

Unfortunately, the food selection didn't really convince us. The menu is very small, which doesn't really bother us, but there wasn't really anything here for us. The service was okay but not very friendly either. The location is actually really nice but unfortunately you sit in many places in the passage without a room divider. We sat with our backs to the bar and the service staff were standing there the whole time. We also asked for another table but unfortunately it would have been the same. So unfortunately we didn't really feel comfortable.

I got breaded veal schnitzel about 5 to 6 mm in diameter, a maximum of 150g, flattened in a device according to my feeling and the breading was probably from a commercial kitchen canteen, would be made in a deep fryer and not in a pan, with spaetzle and powder sauce for over €25. I complained but received no response.

Food was OK but nothing special. At least the food was brought to us 5 minutes after we ordered, something I've never had anywhere before! Staff is very very friendly! We didn't find the ambience that nice... if you don't have a reservation, you probably won't get the nice tables you see from the outside through the windows. Otherwise you end up sitting in a rather boring room with very uncomfortable chairs…

A mix of modern and traditional. The furnishings are special but somehow too confusing. These cutlery stands standing on the table don't look really nice either. But it was clean and modern. The service was top and very attentive despite the many guests. Friendly and not intrusive. Unfortunately, the food was nothing special and my veal schnitzel was much too small. But I had plenty of spaetzle and I was full. Unfortunately, I had the feeling that it wasn't enough for this price range.

Had dinner there as a couple after being in Outlet City. Reservations work great and are recommended as they are always full. We were actually able to reserve a table at short notice on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was on the table within a few minutes, hot, and very tasty. If we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back.

That was the smallest schnitzel I've ever eaten in my life. There was still a 2 cm layer of air between the breading and the schnitzel. Craziness. Children's schnitzel for €20.90. Never again!

It's a great restaurant in terms of atmosphere! The food... It was ok! The service was friendly.

Really bad. We ordered the tomato soup - 400 ml for 9.90 euros!!! The pot in which the soup was served was much smaller, more like 200 ml. About the soup itself: it wasn't a soup but rather canned tomatoes that had been cooked for a longer time and were totally over salted. The cutlery was not washed clean and there were dried food residues stuck to it. We ordered mulled wine to drink, it was overly acidic, no alcohol and had probably been cooked for days because it also tasted very bitter and burnt. I asked the waitress about this and the answer was that that couldn't be the case. The prices are absolutely overpriced for what is on offer. Only the interior and ambience are well done.

The menu is quite small and doesn't have much choice. The prices are quite expensive. The food came super quickly, but I had the feeling that the prepared food was simply pushed straight into the Mirko. The atmosphere there is super cozy and quite nice. I wouldn't go there again, but would rather visit another restaurant there.

This place was very nice. The staff was friendly, we placed our order quite quickly and the food and drinks arrived fast. The interior was really beautiful. The prices were expensive but it was in the center of Metzingen where all the clothing brands were. My family ate dinner and from their feedback they liked the food. I only ate dessert but it was also very delicious. I would recommend going there if you are in the center of Metzingen.

We were there for lunch - (Outletcity visit). The place is very cozy, complete with rustic but tasteful wooden furnishings. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the menu (Swabian, Bavarian) offers something for everyone. We ordered white sausages with pretzels and were very satisfied. We'll be back!

Traditionally furnished restaurant, the food was very good 👍 but if you have a big appetite I recommend a starter, the service was very friendly and nice, you have to wait a bit at the entrance because you are not allowed to take a seat on your own, you are assigned to it.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Almresi in Metzingen. The service was rude and unprofessional and there was significant confusion over billing. The quality of service did not meet expectations, resulting in a frustrating experience. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is huge. If it rains, you can sit outside. There are many seats inside. The setting is very atmospheric. Recommend calf schnitzel

A golden rule for any seasoned traveler is to avoid restaurants right in the heart of tourist hotspots. You're usually much better off venturing a little further—sometimes even a side or parallel street offers significantly better value, often at half the price, with a noticeable improvement in quality. With this in mind, I didn't have high expectations for this restaurant. Surprisingly, it turned out to be decent, though the prices were on the higher side compared to what was offered. My pizza, however, was delicious and far too large for one person. In the end, dining here, right in the middle of Outletcity, wasn't a bad choice (perhaps a bit of a spontaneous decision), but there are certainly better options outside the outlet area if you're willing to explore a bit more.

Great atmosphere, but unfortunately that's about it! The food is absolutely underground. Visually it's really well presented. But unfortunately in this place it's all about the looks. Frozen schnitzel from the deep fryer, potato salad from the bucket and spaetzle from the package. And that for the price. An absolute disgrace! We could have eaten at McDonald's, at least I knew in advance that I wasn't eating anything high-quality. When we asked the boss about the poor quality of the food, he just replied arrogantly, what do we expect for the price? You can't get a pan-fried schnitzel for 20 euros. Once and never again!
