Very good food, very nicely prepared and nice service.

Wir waren im Rahmen eines Betriebsausflugs gegen Mittag in der Gaststätte Rheinzeit. Der Stress in der Küche, den wir von unseren Plätze. Im Innenraum mitbekommen durften, hat sich wohl negativ auf das Essen ausgewirkt. Leider habe ich selten so schlecht gegessen. Zudem kann ein Teil des Essens erst nach der dritten Nachfrage.

Good morning I'm not usually a review writer, but I would like to briefly report on my visit to the Oldenburger Hof yesterday. I know the restaurant from my youth in the 80s and back then it was very rustic and the portions were huge. So I was excited about the change and transformation that had occurred over the last few decades. A good friend who has been a guest here several times accompanied me. Now the ambience and the quality of the food convinced me, but it was also quite to be expected given the prices. Since our hunger was limited, we skipped appetizers. We had the vegetarian ravioli, the cod, a large bottle of water and two white wines. At the end we shared a crème brulee. All in all we were here at €97. However, the creme brulee was forgotten on the bill, so only €84.50 was shown. In total I put €103 in the envelope and pointed out that the crème brulee was missing from the bill. The young man seemed a little irritated and took the envelope with him. Afterwards I saw that he was talking to the manager of the house and the two of them were typing something into the cash register. Probably the unregistered Creme Brulee. About 5 minutes later my companion and I left the restaurant and on the way out I thanked the young man and his boss. However, what bothers me last night and even more now looking back is the fact that there was no thank you because of my honesty. Nothing. And it wasn't due to the rush, because when we left there weren't 10 people left in the restaurant. Well, others only give one star, but that wouldn't be fair. I just want to understand it, because a “house” that is so stylish (or wants to be) can’t really afford such a lapse. It's a shame for this unpleasant end to the evening.

Very nice restaurant with a varied menu. Every meal comes with a greeting from the kitchen. Since there are no direct parking spaces, we recommend parking in one of the underground car parks in the city center. About 5 minutes walk away.

Super veltilberedt og autentisk tysk kvalitetsmad. Vi fik anbefalet dem for deres schnitzler, og vi blev ikke skuffede! Søde personaler og gode hovedret og desert - meget mætte of tilfredse.

Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Fleisch war sehr gut gewürzt und gebraten. Das einzige was auszusetzen war das Rösti, das außenherum angebrannt und bitter geschmeckt, insgesamt ziemlich fest und nicht eßbar war. Auf Nachfrage kam die Bedienung aus der Küche mit dem Hinweis des Kochs, das ist kein Kartoffelpfannkuchen, das ist ein Rösti. Damit muß man leben.

An absolute disappointment! You want to be more than you can. It starts with the greeting. The reservation for two pax confirmed by email cannot be found. Actually it didn't matter because there were enough tables available. After a long search and discussions between the service staff, we were allowed to choose one of the free tables. It could have been handled the same way. We received the menus and were immediately a bit shocked by the very high prices in this “village tavern”. EUR 10 for a glass of wine 0.2 is a word. It was similar with the food. We ordered drinks (also wine) and food. It took at least 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. The wrong drinks were served, which led to a small argument with the waitress. When the food (fried chicken salad and fish) arrived, the disappointment was even clearer. Visually, the salad had nothing in common with a fried chicken salad. Breaded pieces of something that tasted like they were frozen for EUR 30. The fish was a little better. We had the feeling that something was being cooked here that the chef had never actually seen in person. As if he had never left the village before, but he offers something Austrian. When we cleared our plates we were asked if we liked it. We said no and gave the reasons. “But we can’t explain that…..”. A few minutes passed and another waiter brought us two desserts that we hadn't ordered. They want to show us that the kitchen can cook excellently. Desserts are also ideal for this. Polite as we are, we tried it. But these weren't really tasty either. We asked for the bill and were told that we only had to pay for the drinks and not the food. First we looked at each other. Why is that? The kitchen and the service staff were so confident that they had prepared the most wonderful meals for us. Of course we paid the entire bill, even gave a tip and were happy to leave. Conclusion: You don't have to go. It would certainly make sense if the chef would think outside the box and visit the countries whose dishes he offers.
