I was at the Brocken on Saturday morning and wanted to give them one last chance.
However, shortly after 10 a.m. I was turned away in the most unfriendly manner at the kiosk at the train station. There were two employees in the kiosk, both with a beer in their hand. When asked if it was already open (the sales window was open), the answer was unfriendly: "We haven't even had breakfast yet, so should we sell something?"
The last time I was a paying customer in winter (in the Göthesaal, which is more reminiscent of a canteen), dirty plates were simply wiped off with my hand and then the food was served... The schnitzel with fries was completely overpriced for the quality, it would be wasn't even worth €10.
Do you actually read their Google reviews? I'm definitely not the only one with experiences like this...
But what I'm actually trying to get at is that you are making maximum use of your monopoly position on the Brocken, the only thing that counts is the motto "sell cheap Fras with maximum profit" (excuse the word "cheap Fras" but in the end it is nothing else).
If you had competition, you would immediately lose all your customers with this policy.
As a Saxony-Hitchhiker, it's simply embarrassing when you look at the gastronomic offerings on the Brocken, it's anti-advertising for the Brocken and the entire Harz Mountains. I'm surprised that the city of Wernigerode hasn't intervened yet.
But the stupid tourists come anyway.
I've now given up on the likelihood of something changing in your company, but maybe miracles can still happen...
Unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyone. The order arrived almost an hour later and everything was basically cold and the pizza base was very hard
The good thing first: The waiter repeated all the orders and pointed out to us that one child didn't have a drink - but unfortunately that was the end of the positive aspects.
In terms of portions, quality, taste and presentation, the food did not correspond at all to the suborbitantly high and absolutely exorbitant prices.
Two adults, one child, 2x lunch, one children's plate for 78 euros......
The children's plate consisted of two frozen dinosaurs and a spoonful of ready-made mashed potatoes from the 20kg bucket...
We once had corn chicken breast fillet, which turned out to be a drumstick with something indefinable on it, along with half-warm croquettes and a little ready-made sauce...
The second dish was a thin piece of smoked cheese, the supposedly spicy sauce consisted of a few canned mushrooms and some peppers, along with a few boiled potatoes without salt and two tiny lettuce leaves.
We ordered a Cola Zero for drinks, which turned out to be probably normal Pepsi, the Alster/Radler had a strange aftertaste, only the child's apple spritzer tasted like you're used to apple spritzer.
My conclusion: Great view, service ok, food yuck. 80 euros wasted money.
Recommendation: Better get something from the small stalls, they at least want to offer something delicious...
No salary has been paid since February, 2 months later the boss comes with just €500 in an envelope and hands it over as "wages"
At the end of May, all employees were laid off for operational reasons. All unpaid wages were claimed through a lawyer. How could it be otherwise, no one showed up to the negotiations.

I give it 3 stars. In general, it’s a very decent autohop, but here the workers are divided into two shifts. The first shift (morning), very cool and friendly people... Everything is fine during the day. But when the second shift (evening), there is quiet horror, an always dissatisfied older woman with black hair, the administrator is the same with her (a short, plump woman with short hair and blond hair)... and on their shift everything that is written in the comments begins... the shower does not work after 21.00. In fact, there are about 5 booths, but until 21.00, at the request of these employees, only one booth is open... And they didn’t tell you about this.. you’re standing there shaving yourself, etc., then this woman runs in and starts saying that there’s a line. Parking tickets are checked twice the same shift..... that's why I give 3 stars. The shower doesn't work after 21.00, as I understand it, because the evening shift doesn't want to clean it.
The food didn't taste good, it was way too greasy, it gave you stomach upset, the meat didn't taste good, the service was hardly German, and they added onions and hot sauce even though I didn't like it, that was my first & last visit to Denn.
It's a very long wait for an order in the morning!!!!!
They all walk around like sleepy flies!
The orders are mixed up! The coffee is standing for half an hour! Horrible! The worst Mac in Germany!
