A real insider tip in Mainz! A small, fine Italian restaurant with a lot of heart. We received an extremely friendly welcome from the owner and gave us excellent advice - you can immediately tell that the work here is done with passion. The food was absolutely top class: fresh, authentic and tasted at the highest level. Yes, it has its price - but it's worth every cent. Rarely have we been served so warmly and competently. We'll definitely be back!

We had a really nice spontaneous evening in the Old City Gate. As soon as we walked in we were greeted in a very friendly manner, which immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The service was attentive and totally warm – just the right mix of professional and personal. You just felt comfortable. And the food? Simply great! The meat was incredibly tender, perfectly prepared, and the salad dressings were a real highlight - really tasty and full of flavor. Overall, a thoroughly successful evening. We'll definitely be back!

We were here with a larger group for a birthday. Very cozy atmosphere and nice and courteous employees and owners. The food was also very good and recommended. Special requests were also accepted here and implemented courteously.

There were many highlights tonights: tuna, langoustines, chicken, lamb and bananamouse. But Salvatore was the undisputed king: he made us feel extremely welcome.

The boss was so generous and brought us two tapas on the house. A glass of homemade strawberry lime rounded off the hospitality. We would love to come back 😊

Good parking options nearby. The staff is very friendly and well organized. You feel very welcome. The processes are perfect and the waiting times are correspondingly short. The food can be taken away or eaten on site. There is self-service (ordering food at the checkout), but the food is brought to the table when consumed on site. Dining is also possible outside, there are a few tables here. The pizza is available in 2 sizes, can be individually topped and is really fantastic. You can also order various types of delicious homemade pasta with different sauces. Of course, various salads should not be missing either. A good selection of soft drinks and beers round off the meal. The prices are reasonable.
