Sub of the day, or sandwich of the day - is definitely worth trying your way through the week. Many thanks to the owner of Strandstulle for continuing the business without the previous name partner.
There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the sandwiches. There are so many combinations possible that every customer will actually find something that they will like.
Old well-preserved building.
The actual town hall is further away.
The town hall cellar offers plenty of space outside. Serving is also served on the premises. Food was delicious. The service is very attentive.
Too expensive, no card payments accepted, unfriendly staff (Turkish Greeks??)
Atmosphere: Snack bar with a covered outdoor area.
Food not worth mentioning.
Were alone in the restaurant during the week. We ordered 3 drinks, 2x Persian tzatziki with home-baked rolls, 1x farmer's salad & 1x leg of lamb with saffron rice. So far so good.
The home-baked rolls were baked baguettes from a pack of 4 for -.69 cents. ? and unfortunately only baked from above.
The supposed yogurt dressing in the salad was vinegar-sour and the leg of lamb was warmed up with the sauce as it was supposedly in the convenience package and placed on a deep plate. There was also a snow-white rice on a separate plate, without any typical roasted aromas or a few herbs or similar - a blob of yellow (saffron?) sauce was on top. The leg tasted ok, but nothing more.
Overall, the food was unfortunately no more than canteen level. But around €75 was definitely too much.
It was also a bit unpleasant that the glass front was open the entire time (at an outside temperature of 8°C) in order to be able to sell ice cream...?!
All in all, I think it's a shame, but under these circumstances I don't see a bright future here.
Schnitzelwelt:
On the edge of Meppen.
Easily accessible and ample parking.
The food is excellent and there is a wide choice of schnitzel and hamburger menus.
I can only say 5/5☆
We went here spontaneously and wanted to have dinner. We were greeted very politely and despite no table reservation, the boss assigned us a table. All the employees are very polite, friendly and you get the feeling that they live their job.
The food was great, we had tagliatelle with chicken in a cheese cream sauce, and a pizza with ham and broccoli.
The waiting time for the food was absolutely acceptable and lasted about 20 minutes, the restaurant was full and everyone was busy.
The price of a good 75 for 3 adults is also completely acceptable.
Finally a little summary:
We can unreservedly recommend DA VITO. To be on the safe side, always book a table in advance so that you can safely pamper your taste buds here.
We will be happy to come back here.
We would like to say thank you very much for the wonderful evening with you, a big thank you to the nice staff and a big thank you to the kitchen.
Very nice, rustic old inn right on the Haase.
Very nice employees.
Unfortunately the cake had no taste at all.
We haven't tried the other things here yet.
What a beautiful restaurant this is.
40 years back in time, wonderful hostesses, wonderfully cheap, I can't remember anymore, payment can only be made in cash.
Wonderful, those old days.
It looks like a banana split.
Highly recommended, not luxurious, but super cool.
This is where you must have been in Meppen.
