Restaurant Safran in Meppen

My wife and I were in Meppen on a Monday for the Christmas market and wanted to eat something around lunchtime. We saw that the Safran restaurant was open and were amazed that they offered the full menu and not just a stripped-down lunch menu. The owner gave us friendly and kind advice, as Persian was completely new to us. The food came quickly and it was very tasty! We were thrilled and would love to come back!

Neat and spotlessly clean restaurant, sufficient choice on the menu, nice repertoire of wines, the food was super fresh and fresh, the meat of high quality, not greasy, no edges but pure meat, more than sufficient quantities, polite friendly service, quiet environment, it furniture like new, bright well lit room. Just everything as you expect. All stars, it doesn't get any better.

Hospitality is still very important here. My wife and I received a very friendly welcome and were looked after very well and attentively throughout our stay. The food was excellent, fresh and of very good quality. We would love to come back.

Were alone in the restaurant during the week. We ordered 3 drinks, 2x Persian tzatziki with home-baked rolls, 1x farmer's salad & 1x leg of lamb with saffron rice. So far so good. The home-baked rolls were baked baguettes from a pack of 4 for -.69 cents. ? and unfortunately only baked from above. The supposed yogurt dressing in the salad was vinegar-sour and the leg of lamb was warmed up with the sauce as it was supposedly in the convenience package and placed on a deep plate. There was also a snow-white rice on a separate plate, without any typical roasted aromas or a few herbs or similar - a blob of yellow (saffron?) sauce was on top. The leg tasted ok, but nothing more. Overall, the food was unfortunately no more than canteen level. But around €75 was definitely too much. It was also a bit unpleasant that the glass front was open the entire time (at an outside temperature of 8°C) in order to be able to sell ice cream...?! All in all, I think it's a shame, but under these circumstances I don't see a bright future here.

The veal on the skewer was a bit tough. The attachments are fine. The wine, Primitivo di Manduria, is also recommended. We were there on Monday evening. There was still 1 couple eating. That's why the atmosphere wasn't that special. We brought delicious ice cream in our hands back to the campsite.

Very friendly service and good food. Since there are no senior plates, I was allowed to order the children's plate Kubideh with very good rice.

I wrote a bad review and it was deleted! I'm horrified! I don't remember the details, so I won't write in detail. Chip shop would have been more honest and much cheaper. The operator responded to my review and questioned whether I even ate there. All I can say is...unfortunately yes and it won't happen again

I ordered a fruit cup without cream, which the waiter repeated again. Nevertheless, I received a fruit cup with cream. There was also a small mosquito on the cream that I had to get rid of. Something else is pleasant. The ice cream was otherwise satisfying, with bite-sized pieces of fruit.

Beautiful restaurant to see. With invalid adjustments. Friendly people even though we only came to eat an ice cream. Nice ice cream by the way. Next time we will combine the ice cream with a meal beforehand.

There is very tasty ice cream here! The warm kitchen is great. The owner cooks himself and is always friendly.

I celebrated my birthday here, the steak was great and really juicy, but the lamb was too salty, there was also saffron ice cream

Owner very unfriendly and disrespectful. After sitting for half an hour we were asked for drinks and then 20 minutes later what we would like to eat. An hour later the food came. In my opinion, I cannot recommend this restaurant

We spontaneously went to the Safran restaurant with 4 people and were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food, good service from a gentleman and the ambience was okay. The next time we are in Meppen we will come back.

Several good experiences: very good cuisine, super friendly service and pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. Persian cuisine is highly recommended. I look forward to the next visit.

We went to the Safran restaurant for the first time today. There were four of us and we first shared the very tasty starter platter and then ate four different main courses. Everything was very delicious. The service was attentive and very friendly. We are happy to recommend this restaurant 😋❤️

I'm often on the go, so I often eat out. The Safran is one of the best restaurants in Meppen. The food is good. It is delivered quickly, is well seasoned and simply tasty. Next time I will move the business lunches here. The prices are more than fair and the staff is friendly and competent.

Gyro plate ordered, meat is dry, tough and not particularly seasoned. It looks like it was bought pre-cut and then warmed up, but it's definitely not freshly cut from a spit. A real invoice was not issued either, only an interim invoice.

Montags ein offenes Restaurant zu finden ist ja mittlerweile schon eine Kunst. Waren zufällig in Meppen, wollten eigentlich in ein anderes Restaurant, das hatte leider Betriebsferien. Somit fiel die Wahl aufs Safran. Draußen saßen einige Kunden, sah soweit ganz gut aus. Aber als wir rein kamen.... Es hätte mir gleich klar sein müssen.... Restaurant, Cafe und Eisdiele in einem, was soll das werden?! Von innen wie ein großer Speisesaal, bis auf 4 Ausnahmen nur riesige Tische, das richtige für Großfamilien oder ganze Vereine. Soviel zum Ambiente. Dann dauerte es eine gewisse Zeit bis dann endlich die Bedienung kam und uns die Karten brachte. Ums kurz zu machen, ALLES hat dort Ewigkeiten gedauert! Ich weiß nicht ob das Mädchen neu war? Und der Chef hat sie dann auch noch in der Öffentlichkeit gefaltet weil sie so langsam war. Sorry, sowas geht gar nicht! Ich könnte noch einiges mehr schreiben, aber es würde nicht besser werden. Für uns eine ganze klare Sache, nie wieder!!

Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so lecker gegessen wie heute. Die Bedienung war einfach top.

Sehr schönes Lokal,super modern. Wir haben dort draußen gesessen und Eisbecher gegessen.Alle waren sehr lecker und die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. 👌Preise normal.😊

Maten smakade bra och atmosfären trivsam, restaurangen belägen längs gågata. Däremot kan man inte betala med kort vilket man fick reda på när det var dags att betala.

Vorspeise wie Hauptspeise wahren wirklich sehr gut. Ich habe das Safran Gericht mit Genuss gegessen. Der Reis war perfekt. Das Eis als Dessert ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen.der Preis für alles war mehr als angenehm . Dort werden wir jetzt wohl öfter sein ❤️

Wir waren erst am Nachmittag auf ein Eisbecher dort, nachdem wir bei einer anderen Eisdiele im Ort sehr schlecht bedient wurden sind wir zum Safran gegangen, super das wir das gemacht haben, leckeres selbstgemachtes Eis, am Abend waren wir noch was Essen, sehr lecker, sehr nett bedient worden, wir kommen wieder wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

Hier ist alles stimmig! Der Service erstklassig, das Essen unglaublich lecker und große Portionen noch dazu. Sehr schönes Ambiente und selbst die Toiletten sind blitzblank.

Breites Sortiment von Speiseeis, Kaffeevarianten, Iranische Speisen, Steaks sowie diversen anderen Gerichten!

Sehr guter und freundlicher Service, die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend, und sehr schmackhaft. Wir haben etwas länger auf das Essen gewartet aber das wurde durch Freundlichkeit wieder wet gemacht. Gerne wieder

Wir waren schon sehr oft im Restaurant Safran. Sind immerwieder sehr freundlich empfangen worden. Ich habe bei jedem Besuch ein anderes Essen bestellt und es hat mir jedesmal geschmeckt. Die Teller sind nett angerichtet, das Auge isst bekanntlich mit. Große Wartezeiten haben wir nicht erlebt. Das Restaurant ist schlicht und doch gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Service ist sehr gut und aufmerksam. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Ich / wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir waren schon mehrere Male im Restaurant Safran und haben noch keine schlechten Erfahrungen gemacht. Service immer Top! Auf die Getränke und das Essen mussten wir nicht lange warten. Das Essen ist sehr gut und preislich voll gerechtfertigt. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Super leckeres Essen. Lamm war sehr gut, nur etwas kühl… Sehr gut Pommes. Salat war auch sehr gut. Weiter so.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Leider bekam mein Mann sein Gericht fast 15 min. vor mir und war somit fast fertig mit Essen.

Super leckeres Essen schnelles und aufmerksames Personal Tolles Ambiente und schöner Biergarten Waren schon oft hier Essen und werden immer wieder kommen Super lecker ist auch das hausgemachte Eis
