We were in Bad Zwischenahn for a training course and stayed at the hotel. It's a very nice hotel with good rooms and friendly staff. And the food is delicious, too. It's good value for money.
We had dinner at Ahrenshof with another couple. The ambience is ok, but that day the restaurant was so full of “cabbage drivers” that the noise was unbearable 😩 and normal conversation at our table was not possible.
The service is good; The order was taken quickly and the food was delivered promptly.
Unfortunately, the food we ordered wasn't what we actually expected. The 3 half herrings disappeared under a sauce, the bean salad was an unrecognizable puree and the fried potatoes were warmed up and swimming in fat.
The meat dish was also not freshly prepared, but also warmed up.
After eating we told the waitress our experiences; Not a word of regret, just “I’ll pass it on to the kitchen.”
For us it was a “used” evening!
The dinner did not meet our expectations, but the price was unreasonable😡
We will not visit the Ahrenshof again for dinner or recommend it to others!
This was our second time eating there as a couple.
Unfortunately we didn't like it so much this time. Very disappointing.
In terms of taste and unfortunately also service technically not commensurate with the price.
I really expect a lot more when you go out to eat star cuisine.
When we paid the bill we weren't even asked if we enjoyed the evening.
About the details:
For the main course we paid over 20 euros more per person because we didn't really like the taste of the main courses, and got 2 very thin strips of meat, maybe 100 grams (waygu) with a little bit of nonsense. You have to let it melt in your mouth...over 40 euros on top
The service often forgot about us, dishes were only cleared away after a long time.
We are very sorry, but we had imagined the evening differently.
We had a bit of a feeling that we were somehow saving money.
On the first visit it was great.
The pizza is very tasty and the staff is very friendly. I can recommend the kebab pizza, the meat is good and the pizza is in the oven for just the right amount of time. The restaurant is very nice and the prices are reasonable. 👍
Didn't blow us away.
Ambience: Seems a little loveless in parts. You can definitely upgrade something there.
Food: Solid, but fairly mediocre compared to others in orienteering.
Staff: very friendly in direct conversation, but otherwise very slow and inattentive. Went there with 6 people and only got 4 tickets. Other guests received a welcome ouzu, we didn't. Drinks were sometimes empty for a very long time without asking for anything new. Taking the order also took a long time.
All in all a very simple Greek restaurant - unfortunately not enough for another visit.
The location is very nice. I don't know the rooms because I didn't stay there. This young person who served us should be sent back for further training.
