Tried it after being recommended by several rehab patients and was very impressed with the service and the food! We had burgers with fries... Simply brilliant.

The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive. Since the renovation it has become significantly brighter and therefore more comfortable.

The ambience and the beer garden are absolutely cozy... anyone who stops in Zwischenahn or visits the Zwischenahner Meer should make themselves comfortable here and drink a delicious country beer! 10 out of 10!

We were there relatively spontaneously with 14 adults and 4 children and we were all so excited. The staff was incredibly fond of children and also really looked after the slightly older children. The food was great, the ambience and the property itself were really nice. There was even a changing table and a cupboard with diapers etc. we can only recommend it. Thank you!

Good food in a cozy atmosphere, try it out!

We were there for breakfast and had a very pleasant stay. The buffet was rich, nicely prepared and fresh. The fresh fruits in salads and sliced ​​were particularly delicious. Drinks were also available, as requested. We'd love to come back!

When we arrived we were first told that we couldn't eat anymore (6:30 p.m.) and then it went. We were assigned a table, but no tickets. We then gave ourselves a treat and saw what we wanted. For ages no one came and didn't ask what we would like. When we took the initiative ourselves, our order was taken. We ordered cordon bleu and the portion was bordering on outrageous About 1 teaspoon of hollandaise, a small hand of fries and a cordon bleu the size of a cardboard beer mat. OK. In the end we paid €71.00. 71..!! Never again...really. That was so cheeky... we've never experienced anything like that before. But the atmosphere is actually very nice.

We were there for breakfast this morning. The ambience is really nice, but what was promised wasn't offered, for example. Antipasti, fried eggs, stuffed eggs, cocoa, several types of jam. Unfortunately the salmon was refilled much too late. Tea and coffee were on the table. However, we had coffee twice. When we asked, we were told that tea would be brought soon. Unfortunately we no longer received the tea. For the price, the breakfast is definitely way too expensive. As I said, the atmosphere is really nice. Something definitely needs to be done with the selection.

Been there once again after the renovation. Disappointment inside. The galleries with the old tools and machines from earlier times were renewed with wallpaper. It's getting bigger but the charm is missing. We were there at 11:30 a.m. A wheelchair user with her family was already there. Hot weather. Doors closed. Even when a service employee came, it didn't open. Only when we asked at the side entrance were we invited in. Not a large number of parking spaces. A bus came and chaos reigned. Cars were parked.

Perfect food, service and great ambience

I really liked the atmosphere in the Ahrenshof. From the menu I chose the grilled corn-fed chicken breast with red wine jus, baked vegetables and potato-mustard puree. However, the potato and mustard puree was very spicy and only tasted like mustard. It almost completely disappeared. The chicken breast had a thick bone. The oven vegetables consisted of three strips of zucchini and 3 strips of pepper. I would have expected a little more for the price.

Unfortunately it wasn't that successful. The prices are totally unreasonable. 25 euros for a small piece of meat, a mini portion of fries and an inedible salad. The food didn't really taste good and it was really a shame for the price. The only good thing was the ambience. The waitresses didn't even ask if you wanted something to drink... Too bad - never again.

Except for the parking situation, everything else is perfect. On public holidays you should definitely reserve a table and arrive early to get parking in front of the restaurant. If necessary, allow people with disabilities to get on and off at the entrance. The painting on the wall in the main room doesn't fit with an Ammerland ambience, but that's not a bad thing.

A cozy restaurant. Sufficient space, clean and comfortable. The family-friendly facilities (playground) convinced us to stop by spontaneously. The culinary offering is really very disappointing. The high prices (unfortunately the norm in Bad Zwischenahn) are not justified in this restaurant. There were three of us there for lunch. On my On the plate there was a mixture of a wild herb salad, soaked in a dressing that was too sweet, together with probably the remains of a day-old cucumber salad and mashed tomatoes, fried potatoes that were too dark and burnt dry bacon cubes. On another plate were fries that tasted like rancid frying fat. The other dish was pasta with a flavorless sauce. The portion sizes were generous. The content is very unsatisfactory. On Sunday we were invited to a family breakfast in the same restaurant. A bitter and watery filter coffee awaited us at the table, as well as an unimaginative and unloving breakfast buffet. The service staff were all very friendly.

As already mentioned here, the portions have become much smaller and the prices are more expensive. With all my understanding (of the current situation in the country), I don't think it's fair to the guests to make portions smaller and more expensive. It's a real shame, but it really makes you think about whether a visit to the Arenshof is still worth it. Otherwise it was very pleasant for a long time and it was a pleasure to stop at the Arenshof.

Interesting location, the washrooms are also worth seeing.

We were looking forward to a wonderful and well-kept meal on Valentine's Day. The lady picked us up at the door, ran off, put the menu on our table and ran on without telling us that this was our table. We were also not asked whether we wanted water or something else with our wine. She also had to ask what the soup of the day was. Quite a bit of time passed between the starter and the main course. The food was okay. When we had finished the main course, the main waiter (she was dressed differently than the others) picked up the plates and didn't ask if we would like anything else, dessert or something to drink. After a while, and she walked past us a few times, we were finally able to order our dessert, but still no question about further drinks. And where we wanted to pay, she deliberately looked past us and went to take a break. We then paid with her super friendly colleague, who saved the evening after all.

The Ahrenshof is a very good culinary address. Whether with friends or for an evening for two, wonderful ambience, modern, elegant and yet a bit of a living room atmosphere. I would classify the offering as upscale German cuisine. The liver and half duck are highly recommended, heavenly delicious.👌👌👌

I have known Ahrenshof for years. This time I was disappointed. The portions are significantly smaller and the prices have increased. I got soup as a starter without a spoon. Then the waitress looks at me and says: Straw? Was that supposed to be funny? My main course was piping hot, I left the restaurant with blisters on my palate. I was wondering why my food was so hot. Convection oven? How come? See the dried sauce. I would have liked to drink more, no one asked, even though my glasses were empty. Very expensive and not filling. A pity

On Saturday we were at the Ahrenshof with five people to celebrate my birthday. The prices there are a little higher than normal, the ambience is very nice after the basic renovation. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, we were a little unlucky this time throughout the evening. Maybe it was because it was very crowded. Unfortunately, the desired “Martini” starter was not available at first. Both fish dishes "cod" were in very small portions, so a larger piece of fish, or a second piece, would have been good for the otherwise delicious taste. The beef roulade was not really seared, light brown and, according to my friend's feedback, rather bland in taste. The two "country house plates" were well prepared, but the amount of "bacon" in the bacon beans was more likely to be guessed at than seen or tasted. The sauce tasted good, but I wouldn't have identified it as a black beer sauce. We pointed out to the service staff twice that the portion of cod was too small and the service staff were also aware of the missing martini. - A digestif, e.g. Ramazotti or Grappa, on the house might have stopped me from writing this review. That would have been a nice, conciliatory gesture, especially since €250 for five people isn't exactly a small amount of money. We will certainly visit the Ahrenshof again and then hope for a more pleasant experience.

Everything was redone, so unfortunately the old charm, which I found very pleasant, was lost. We were served in a friendly and courteous manner. The food came in a reasonable time. I was a little disappointed with my duck. I felt like she had a warm bath in the deep fryer. The side dish was good. The prices were maxed out.

We made a very easy online reservation today at short notice. Very cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. Our dog was also a welcome guest. The food was classic, there was something for every taste, and it was very good. Not a long wait. Price - performance appropriate!

Super tolles Lokal, Chefin und Personal einfach super gutes Klima. Es ist alles unkompliziert es wird gleich alles getahn was der Gast möchte. Das Essen war von Anfang bis Ende genial es ist nichts auszusetzen. Der dicke Kamin rundet es alles noch ab und wer da einkehrt muß unbedingt auf die Toilette gehen das ist das beste, was ich gesehen habe es paßt einfach alles. Es ist sehr zu empfehlen und wir werden öfters einkehren ob wohl wir von der lüneburger heide kommen es ist es uns wert. Es ist alles mit Liebe gemacht. Vielen lieben Dank 💝

Die Renovierung ist sehr gut gelungen/ der eingestaubte Charme ist verschwunden, trotzdem ist das Ambiente gemütlich geblieben. Unser Antipasti-Teller war wirklich sehr gut. Der Hauptgang „Krosse Ente“ hat uns nicht gefallen, das Essen wurde wohl in der Küche warm gehalten, der Rotkohl und die Kartoffeln waren oberhalb leider schon sehr trocken, das Menü kommt nicht ansatzweise an die Küche des alten Ahrenshof heran. Leider fehlen auch tolle Desserts, wie z.B. die gemischte Dessertplatte.

Ich hatte einen traumhaften Hirschburger. Das Ambiente, mit dem riesigen Kamin in der Mitte, ist schon außergewöhnlich.

Sehr schön. Leckeres Essen. Unbedingt auf die Toilette gehen.

Es passte alles. Kinder bekamen eine eigene Speicherkarte die auf der Rückseite bemalt werden konnte. Die Buntstifte wurde prompt dazugeliefert.

"Kuh"les Ambiente und wirklich gutes Essen. Der Ziegenkäse mit der Melone als Vorspeise war sehr, sehr gut und auch der Haupgang (das Maishähnchen) war ein Gedicht. Zum Abschluss ein Crumble...nicht ganz Preisgünstig aber absolut empfehlenswert.

Decent food, somewhat overpriced. But the service is what prompted this review. Unfriendly, unprofessional, and totally off-putting. We have never left a restaurant without leaving a tip before tonight. But this crew seemed oblivious to the fact that they work in the hospitality business, and seemed upset that we were patronising their place of business from the moment we arrived. Weird.

Ich wollte keine weiten Wege mehr zurücklegen und deswegen entschied ich mich das Restaurant aufzusuchen, obwohl dort sehr wenige vegetarische Gerichte angeboten werden. Es war kein Problem ohne Reservierung einen Tisch zu bekommen. Für mich wurde extra ein Nebenraum geöffnet. Auf meine eher witzig gemeinte und beiläufige Äußerung( „ich habe Hunger“) wurde eingegangen, indem ich rasch meine bestellte sehr leckere Suppe bekam. Ich bin kein großer Fan von Burgern und schon gar nicht von Pommes als Hauptgericht in einem Restaurant. Aber das, was mir dort serviert wurde, war der „Hammer“ und ich würde meine Meinung gerne revidieren, wenn ich häufiger dermaßen lecker essen könnte. Das Ambiente ist sehr einladend. Was aber unglaublich überzeugend ist, sind die Menschen, die dort arbeiten. Unheimlich lieb und zuvorkommend. Obwohl es sicher ein arbeitsreicher Samstagabend war, hatte ich das Gefühl in einer sanft ruhigen Atmosphäre zu speisen. Es war immer jemand präsent, der unaufdringlich nach meinem Wünschen fragte. Ich danke Ihnen für Ihre Gastfreundschaft und Umsorgen.

Nein , es war eine Spontane Idee.Die mega Antwort war ,Sie glauben nicht wir oft wir das hören spontan Essen gehen....(wir waren zu zweit ) Wir haben spontan beschlossen das Lokal zu verlassen Und sind spontan zum Ahrenshof def gegenüber liegt gefahren Wir wurden herzlich willkommen, obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten Der Service sehr gut, aufmerksam nicht aufdringlich, oder aufgesetzt Das Essen,auf den Punkt Ambiente auch sehr angenehm Es hat sich gelohnt den Abend dort zu verbringen Nochmal ein Lob,an den Service und die Küche und natürlich an den Koch !!!

Eines vorweg, der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten zu dritt eine mediterrane Vorspeise auf Antipasti Art. An dem Salat, außer der Kresse, war nichts frisches an Salaten auf dem Teller zu finden. Es war bald so, als hätte man bei Lidl eingekauft. Das zu Preisen, die unverschämt sind

Bei unserem diesjährigen Besuch stellten wir fest, dass der Ahrenshof renoviert und die Speisekarte minimiert wurde. Nach der Renovierung sieht alles viel heller und freundlicher aus. Die bestellten Schweinelendchen mit Rotkohl und Kartoffeln waren sehr lecker und alles wurde sehr heiß serviert. Die Preise sind zwar etwas gehobener als woanders, aber wenn die Qualität und Portion stimmt, ist mir das ein gutes Essen wert. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Super Ambiente, das Essen hervorragend. Ist auch nicht gerade Preiswert. Das günstigste Essen liegt bei 26 Euro.
