I'm soooo sad! A great, cool place with an insider tip feel, and then soooo many things that aren't right. Where do I begin? Contrary to expectations, the menu offers a relatively limited selection. So far, so good. However, unfortunately, several dishes and several wines are unavailable. 🤔
Speaking of wines, anyone who relies on Spanish or Portuguese wines will be disappointed. Overseas is the trump card. Unfortunately, many of them are only mediocre. But there are also some good wines available, mostly red. The white wine selection is rather modest. Two young people run the place. She, with the guests, he, in the kitchen. While you enjoy the very friendly service at the table when ordering, the customer orientation unfortunately lacks after the food and wine are served.
No one asks if you enjoyed the food, whether the wine was a good match, or if "everything was OK." What a shame.
The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant and, given its small size, even a bit cozy. You can feel at home. The restrooms are tidy, except for overflowing trash cans. The tables and counter look appealing.
And the food?
Yes, there are serious flaws. Unfortunately.
The prawns are as bland in flavor as the frozen food they come from. The patatas bravas are unfortunately soggy, like German fried potatoes, and the little bread with two small liquid dips is significantly overpriced. Boquerones are out – and only the tuna balls stand up to the demands of the crowd. Delicious, even if one of them falls apart when you pick it up.
That leaves the bill. Positive: You can pay by card. Negative: Unfortunately, they only give you an "interim receipt," which, according to the tax authorities, has no other purpose than... , so you have to ask for a proper invoice twice.
No one should let a single review deter (or encourage) them from visiting a restaurant. Because every impression is ultimately just a snapshot.
Snapshot.
