We spontaneously decided to eat there today. Luckily, we got a table. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to share this experience... The pizza was divine, and the drinks were fantastic.
But the real highlight was the staff and the location.
We've rarely been so incredibly impressed by the warmth and "Franconian charm" with which we were welcomed.
Even if the "Jäger" (a type of sausage) was warm.
And what we don't have, we don't have :-)
An annual visit is a must; the delicious regional food is fantastic.
Enjoy a traditional meal in the cozy dining room with other people. Conversations flow and wonderful stories unfold.
Reserve a table in advance.
In summer, there's a beautiful beer garden.
Yesterday, we celebrated our birthday with about 20 friends at Stefan Eder's Restaurant and were all extremely satisfied. Stefan put together a wonderful menu. We were all more than satisfied. With each course, there was a hush of silence, and then from all corners came, "Hmm... are those caramelized peas in the sauce?" The dishes were prepared right before our eyes, and our questions about the ingredients were promptly answered by the live chef. The service was friendly, with frequent check-ins and refills.
We've been coming for years, hiking in the beautiful vineyards and through the diverse landscape, and we've never been disappointed by the food – on the contrary, we've always been pleasantly surprised. Many thanks to the team!
Don't order from them under any circumstances. If the order arrives (or if anyone even answers the phone), it's guaranteed to be wrong. Their unprofessionalism is unparalleled.
Wine connoisseurs, delicious food. Friendly, family-run hospitality. Everything your heart desires. Since we didn't stay overnight, I can't comment on the rooms. Based on the appearance of the dining areas, I assume the rooms are tidy and clean.
Update September 4th, 2024:
Gyros and calamari were okay too. The latter is probably breaded itself, but I assume that the calamari is frozen food. I think the portion is a bit small. Unfortunately there was no nightcap on the house today either. Apparently it doesn't always exist.
I had the best gyros here in a long time! Huge pieces, and deliciously crispy 😋 I ate a gyros plate with souvlaki. Souvlaki was okay, but not nearly as tasty as the gyro. The side dish was braised green beans and potatoes and boiled rice. And a tzatziki with lots of garlic! Sitting outside in the beer garden is very comfortable under the trees and away from the hustle and bustle. There was a small salad for the main course and a nightcap on the house at the end. The owner greets every guest personally, and overall there was a (hospitable) friendly atmosphere here. Next time I'll just eat gyros here 😊
