La Empanaderia in Erlangen

I had the ceviche, it was absolutely delicious, I just thought it would have a bit more sweet potato on the side. Like I said, it was fantastic. But for my guests, everything was perfect, absolutely everything. Thanks again for the lovely evening.

I did not expect to find my all time favorite ceviche in Erlangen, Germany. But, I did. 😀 La Empanaderia is fantastic. Great decor and overall vibe, and the service was so friendly.

Unfortunately, I received the wrong steak, but I got a complimentary dessert. Otherwise, I was extremely satisfied and would gladly come back.

We had a party with former colleagues. Everyone was very impressed with the delicious food and excellent cocktails. The only slight drawback was the beer selection, which could be a bit more extensive, even though it's a South American establishment. From the reservation process to the service, we were very pleasantly surprised and would gladly return.

Every time I have visitors in Erlangen, I drag them to the empanaderia first—and it's always worth it. Great food, wonderful atmosphere.

An absolute insider tip. We stumbled upon it by chance, as it looks rather unassuming from the outside. Once inside, however, we were treated to a tour of South America. The service is attentive, but sometimes a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, even when it's busy, the staff is always friendly and happy to explain the dishes. The food is amazing, by the way. I've rarely seen so much authentic cuisine that also tastes so good. In the summer, there's also a small backyard for seating, which was very cozy. We'll definitely be back.

The empanadas were delicious, but the wait time was too long. The wait was VERY worth it, as the food was amazing.

Very tasty. If you order an aperitif between 6 and 7, you get a free appetizer! The menu is very limited, with not many vegetarian options, but cheese-filled pastries are always a hit :) The baked bananas are also delicious! I would recommend about 3 empanadas plus a side (salad or fries) if you want to fill up. Reservations recommended.

A real insider tip! The ambiance at La Empanadería is extremely pleasant – cozy, stylish, and inviting. The service was consistently very friendly and attentive. While there can be short waits at busy times, this was completely acceptable and didn't detract from the relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were delicious, and the appetizers were definitely recommended – fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. I had the sandwich and can highly recommend it – it tasted amazing! We celebrated our wedding here a year ago, and it was simply fantastic! It's still as outstanding a venue today as it was back then.

A cozy restaurant with a great decor. There's a lot to discover when you look around. The service could be improved. The lady who served us was nice. However, she was a bit too relaxed; it felt like we were talking past each other. The girls at the front bar were fun and on the ball. The food was good. We liked the sopaipilla appetizer the best of all the dishes we ordered. The burger was good and plentiful, but I felt it lacked a bit of freshness and flavor. We also ordered dips to go. Our cocktails were delicious, and we ended up taking some to go. Conclusion: We'd love to come back again, but we'll sit right at the bar with the great bartender and enjoy cocktails and a few sopaipillas.

A very lovingly decorated restaurant with a very harmonious atmosphere. The food is good, but not outstanding. The selection is quite limited. The service could be more attentive; you'll sometimes be happy to linger over an empty glass.

Simply WOW!!! Extremely friendly and attentive staff, in a very beautiful setting with excellent food, invites you to a short vacation in South America. We were thrilled with everything and can highly recommend the restaurant "La Empanaderia." The appetizers and main courses were very tasty and plentiful. We will definitely return and make the trip from Bamberg to Erlangen. Why? Because it's simply worth it!!! Keep up the good work!

The place is cozy, with vibrant and tasteful decor. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff are attentive and courteous. Excellent value for money. A place you simply shouldn’t miss.

Loved the place, the food and the team! Had empanadas, the mbeyú and the Lomito El Roque! Delicious! Gilda and Vera are great hosts who came to our table to make sure everything was to our taste and liking! Can’t wait to come back!

We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at this restaurant. Almost every dish we ordered was scrumptious. We highly recommend the ceviche, grilled sweet potatoes and cauliflower, and chimichurri. Come to think of it, the steak for two was also excellent. If there is one area which I feel the restaurant can improve on, it's the side dishes. The only choices are fries, mashed potatoes, and tomato and onion salad. The tomato and onion salad was less flavorful than the other standout dishes, and the side dish options felt a bit limited for those not in the mood for potatoes. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant!

The empanadas are delicious. However, they are also very expensive for the portion size, hence the deductions in the rating of the food. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Since it is very busy, especially in the evening, the volume level is correspondingly high.

I've never had such a perfect burger in my life - every bite felt like a soft cloud of cheese, sweet brioche dough, smoky beef and an intense but satisfying truffle sauce. The empanada with jalapenos and cheese is a greasy sin that you'll want to commit again and again. The ceviche with delicately cooked perch, just a little more coriander is missing from perfection. The service was quick, warm and unobtrusive. The map seems a bit random at first glance, but what lies behind it is fantastic.

Nice restaurant, good food. The only thing that really bothered me was that you were only allowed to stay for 2 hours. You spend a lot of money and want to sit still for a while when the mood is good.

We ordered and picked up the “bikini trufado” this evening and were really shocked. Beforehand, we called the restaurant and asked whether the dish was a larger sandwich or roll or what you could imagine. Not once was it mentioned that it was just toast. We even asked whether it would fill us up if we ordered the larger portion, as we were expecting a SANDWICH and not pieces of toast (see picture). We have now ordered the “large” portion twice and paid a total of 28 euros (without TG!) for it because we were expecting a normal, filling sandwich. When we got home, we were completely horrified: for 28 euros we only received four small, greasy triangles of toast per portion. This in no way corresponds to what we asked on the phone and absolutely does not correspond to the price-performance ratio. This dish may taste good as a snack, but for the exorbitant price and tiny portion, we feel completely ripped off. Very disappointing and absolutely not recommended!

We went there because we wanted to eat cassava. We tried this once in South America and it was very tasty. Unfortunately it couldn't be found on the memory card. Otherwise the food selection is also very thin. What is available is more bistro food and also very expensive. For example, they want a whole 7 EUR for a large bottle of water! The range of South American drinks is also very limited to non-existent. They don't even have guarana. In any case, we will never go there again. By the way, after we left we passed a bakery and had something to eat.

Expensive for the amount of food but really tasty

Worst restaurant that I went to in a while and I wonder why! I should have just gone to Casa Argentina in Nuremberg!! Firstly, the service is soooooooooooo bad, that the guy who was serving us was not even interested to offer anything to us. It took them 30 minutes to come to our table to ask us for drinks. The Empanadas were quite dry and tasteless, I wonder how it’s their specialty. I asked the waiter to get my the Chimichuri salsa. He said we only give it with steak?! The food is below average. We ended up paying 328€ for 9 people (including 3 children), and it was definitely not worth it at all. So if you want to eat South American food, you'd rather skip this one. I will never ever go to this place again. @the Owner - Firstly, thanks for giving me a call and trying to understand what was wrong with the service of the restaurant. Please be receptive to feedback when it is given, and accept that the waiter that was servicing us that day was particularly rude. It could be that next time (if we ever plan to be there) the service might be good, but that evening our experience was ruined by the rudeness of your waiter. On the food and steak - everyone has the right to their opinion. We didn’t like the food and that’s our opinion that’s all. On the cake, we asked your staff if we can bring it, so don’t make it sound like you did a favor. We know the rules of restaurant and wouldn’t take the liberty to bring something if not allowed. Not sure who had 5 glasses of wine, atleast we didn’t. We all had to drive 😎 Take the feedback with a pinch of salt. I appreciate the time you have spent on this, but it’s also not true that no one has criticized with restaurant in past 5 years. Have a nice day! A nice and cosy south american restaurant in erlangen. Empanadas are a must!!! Rump steak was also amazing. My friends were also very happy with a dish called Milanese (not sure about the spelling). I was too busy eating I did not take photos.

The service was super friendly and accommodating and the food was very tasty across the board, but the ceviche and cheesecake (muy cremoso is not an exaggeration) are the absolute insider tip
