I'm still dreaming about the food at Bolliwood restaurant in Germany! The samosa, butter chicken, and chicken tikka were all outstanding, but the Naan was the real star of the show. If you're a Naan lover like me, you owe it to yourself to try Bollywood's version - it's life-changing! 5 stars, hands down.

Very tasty Indian food, be careful with the spicy! Between 1-4 I had 2 and that was pretty good! My salt lassi was really delicious, especially the naan was freshly baked and warm 👌

I was here for the first time yesterday and the food was very tasty. The portions were large and freshly prepared. There is a large selection of dishes and many dishes can also be prepared vegan. Since the small outdoor area is adjacent to a street, you can hear some traffic. The outside area is still surrounded by a hedge, which means that the noise is well insulated. The service was very attentive and courteous. I will definitely come here more often.

Had Indian food here today. The food was very tasty and the service was very friendly. You can sit outside or inside if it's too warm outside. We felt very comfortable, the owner is very nice and it's nice to talk to him. We'll definitely be back soon. I can highly recommend the restaurant.

Worst food I ever had in Erlangen..... I can cook better at home.... I ordered chicken curry and said medium spicy... It was so spicy so spicy that I had some health issues because of it. There was no taste at all it seemed like they only added chilly powder and lots of oil.. Nothing else.......

I've been a regular customer there for years. Always the best quality for many years. - Super Service - Great food - Very stylish and authentic ambience. The boss's wife cooks here herself and is a true master. You can taste the passion. The boss and his son ensure perfect service and always have an open ear for every guest. It couldn't be better! If you want to feel like an Indian Maharaja for a few hours, this is the place for you.

Food was okay, could have been a little more and the starter was sometimes very salty but as I said you can get over all that. What you unfortunately can't get over so easily is the story behind it: A regular guest, who apparently regularly spends time with his companion in a corner of the indoor area, behaved extremely rudely and aggressively towards our baby, who was being changed and breastfed indoors for a short time while we were sitting outside. He repeatedly complained about his presence and harassed us with derogatory comments. Among other things, he said that this wasn't a kindergarten, that he wanted some peace and quiet and that we should leave. He emphasized that when he comes to eat once a week, he wants to be left alone. His behavior was that of a downright child hater, which made our visit very unpleasant. To our regret, the innkeeper did not intervene (he is definitely fond of children and family-friendly) to put the man in his place or to defuse the situation. In retrospect we found this a bit unfortunate. We noticed that this regular guest regularly sits in a corner with his companion indoors and, without exchanging a word, takes a kind of “maternity break”. He harasses families with children with his threatening manner, which creates an unpleasant atmosphere. We would like to know if other guests have had similar experiences with this regular guest. We hope that such incidents can be avoided in the future so that all guests - including families with babies - can feel comfortable with you.

Best Indian restaurant in the area. Been our preferred restaurant for many years. Food is consistently very good, spiciness on request and always appropriate... you rarely have this continuity. Family business with heart and you can taste it. Ambience outside and inside very nice, not overloaded, but still authentic. Absolute recommendation for this restaurant.

Very good food. In our opinion the best chicken curry in town. Unfortunately the prices are just a bit high, especially for a Bhatura for example (almost €6 for some dough that is fried in oil). If you order two, as they are also quite small, you're almost at €12 just for "bread". But it is worthwhile in any case. Would love to come back. If the prices were a little cheaper I would like to do it more often. :D

There is a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that can be ordered - no matter what you eat there, it is always delicious! The sharpness can also be adjusted individually to your preferences if you want. In addition, the service is always super friendly and courteous (the boss usually serves himself), which makes you feel comfortable and welcome!

Minus points, zero stars! Not recommended! Little seasoned, bland and bland. We have already tried several Indian restaurants in Erlangen and generally eaten a lot of Indian food, but we won't go here again. Cooked and served here with minimal effort. No taste of ginger, onions or the other fine Indian spices. The meat was warmed up and didn't taste like it had been baked in a tandoori oven. There wasn't enough rice and the naan bread only came shortly before the end of the meal. We ate with three children for 130 euros and can only say: What a waste of money (the Indian restaurant on Goethe Street is better, not the fast food joint! Or the "le bar" if it is still open)

We have been eating at Boliwood regularly for years. No matter what you use, it simply tastes great. The restaurant is family run and you can tell the passion. The portions are large and nicely prepared. The lamb is buttery tender, as is the chicken, there is a large vegetarian selection and vegan is also possible without any problems.

The food is simply divine, the service is very warm. Especially the homemade cheese (paneer) with mango – a poem 🥰

The landlord is friendly and very accommodating when looking for a place. His wife, the cook, personally asks whether everything tastes good. Fresh, personal, warm.

I am so, so grateful Erlangen has this wonderful, Indian restaurant. I have been a returning guest for many, many years. Their food is delicious and varied, they have plentiful vegan options too. The owners are very friendly and often engage in little chats. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and a delightful interior, and there is no overpowering music, which is something I much appreciate, since it makes for a calm atmosphere and allows for conversation. The restrooms are pleasantly clean. And to top it off, Boliwood is conveniently situated in walking distance from downtown and the train station, with car parking opportunities very nearby.

Bestes indisches Lokal! Authentische, traditionelle Küche, hervorragende Köchin. Wir sind regelmäßig zu Gast und wollen das gute Essen nicht missen.

Total guter Laden. Super essen, netter, zuvorkommender Service. Allein schon das Knoblauch Naan ist den Besuch wert. Was uns super gefallen hat war dass man den Schärfegrad bei jedem Gericht auswählen kann. Dabei ist mild auch wirklich mild und scharf auch wirklich scharf 🌶️

Wir sind da schon öfters Essen gewesen war jedes mal sehr gut und das Personal ist auch sehr freundlich. Können es nur empfehlen.

Der beste Inder in der Umgebung! Hier wird noch frisch und mit Liebe gekocht (meistens nur durch die Frau bzw. das sehr kleine Personal des Besitzers, deshalb variiert die Wartezeit auch je nach Restaurantbelegung, was verständlich ist und bis jetzt nie ein Problem dargestellt hat). Es gibt eine riesige Auswahl an vegetarischen und vegan bestellbaren Gerichten - egal was man dort isst, es ist immer sehr lecker! Auch die Schärfe kann individuell an die Vorlieben angepasst werden, wenn man das möchte. Und alle, bei denen die Augen größer waren als der Magen ;-), können Reste für ein kleines(!) Entgelt (so auch in der Karte vermerkt) mitnehmen (Material und Aufwand sind mehr wert als dieses Entgelt...). Außerdem immer super freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service (der Chef bedient meist selbst), bei dem man sich einfach nur wohl und willkommen fühlen kann!

Das essen wird immer individuell und frisch zubereitet. Es schmeckt einfach lecker.

Viele Jahre schon zu finden, immer wieder lecker, freundliche Bedienung, schön renoviert, sauber, alles herzlich, angenehme Schärfe des Essens auf Wunsch veränderbar. Kommen gerne wieder. Wir waren wieder da und nach wie vor einer der geschmacklich besten weit und breit.

Eines der besten Indischen Restaurants das ich kenne. Das Essen schmeckt immer wie mit liebe gemacht und vorzüglich. Auch habe ich stets das Gefühl vor Ort willkommen und gern gesehen zu sein. Meine Frau und ich essen hier immer wieder gerne.

Wirklich schlechter Service. Wir haben über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet (wir waren nur zu dritt). Das Essen war ok... andere indische Restaurants in der Nähe sind viel besser. Wir müssten auch für die Verpackung des Take Away zahlen ohne wir darüber zu informieren...

Sehr leckeres Essen! Ich war schon lange nicht mehr so gut Essen. Ich bin sehr begeistert von den verschiedenen Gerichten, die man nach persönlichen Geschmack schärfen lassen kann. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das Mango Lassi zu einem scharfen Gericht. Der Kellner war auch sehr nett.

Our friends and I go for dinner every other Sundays . The owner takes the order and serves the food with lot of care . Hospitality is 5/5 . The ambience is good and they have a bar serving alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks . The chai here is good. My favourite is the butter naan with chicken tikka masala . Sehr teuer, ca 16€ für ein Gericht. vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass das Lokal gar nicht indisch eingerichtet ist und das Essen sehr geschmacklos war. Von der indischen Küche erwartet man doch etwas anderes. Das butter chicken schmeckte wie passierte Tomaten mit Sahne ohne irgendwelche Gewürze. Und das Hähnchen wurde nicht einmal mariniert. Auch das Ambiente ist nicht schön. Außen sitzt man an einer viel befahrenen Straße und nebenbei direkt die Zugschienen. Innen lag auf unserem Tisch eine tote Fliege . Würde nicht empfehlen dieses Restaurant zu besuchen.

Das mit Abstand das beste indische Restaurant in dem ich war, ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen der einen Absprung in Erlangen macht, toller Service und Vorallem gutes Essen gibt es hier! Geschmacklich eine 10/10!

The service is poor. The food was served to different people at different times. They do not split the bill and asked you to pay altogether. You have to deal with the individual bill calculation yourself. We were around 12 people. We deal with all the calculation ourselves. I will recommend never visit this place at all.

Schönes kleines indisches Restaurant. Wir sassen draussen, ab und zu hat man einen Zug gehört, aber dafür kann das Lokal nichts. Essen war sehr lecker. Wir hatten Garlic Naan als Vorspeise, Lamm-Khumbi, Channa Masala (Kichererbsen-Curry), Sabji Kofta (Gemüsebällchen) und Tandoori-Keulen. Fleisch (sofern nicht veggie) war sehr zart, Sossen waren würzig und man konnte bei der Bestellung die Schärfe bestimmen. Bei den Tandoori-Keulen empfiehlt es sich, die Grill-Sauce dazu zu nehmen, sonst ist es etwas trocken. Wurde vom Chef so empfohlen. Preise waren ok für das Gebotene. Sehr gute Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten.

From amazing food to regal ambience, Boliwood has it all. We tried Chicken Karahi, Chicken Vindaloo and Tikka Masala. Everything was upto the mark, their mango lassi feels so authentic, without any artificial sweetness. The decor is exquisite with a touch of antique charm. Would definitely recommend Boliwood to anyone who loves indian food.

HELAL!!! Das Boliwood bietet eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und einladende Einrichtung. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend, und der Service war prompt und effizient. Ich wurde herzlich empfangen und fühlte mich sofort wohl. Das Butter Chicken, das ich bestellt habe, war ein wahrer Genuss. Die Aromen waren authentisch und die Zubereitung war hervorragend. Das zarte Hähnchen war in einer cremigen, leicht würzigen Sauce serviert, die perfekt mit den Gewürzen ausbalanciert war. Jeder Bissen war eine Geschmacksexplosion, und ich konnte die Liebe zum Detail in der Zubereitung deutlich schmecken.
