Humanly speaking, I would never!!! book it again.
I booked a room around 8:30 p.m., and since my wife had been feeling bad during the night, I canceled the next morning at 8:30 a.m., but they told me it wouldn't work. I had to pay half the room price as a cancellation fee. Humanly speaking, I would never!!! book it again.
Great atmosphere, good food, great service from the assistant. We had a really great evening! Usually, I would give 5 stars but I have to subtract 3 stars for absolutely unprofessional behavior from the cook towards vegans. If your group contains any vegans, think twice about going here.
The cook made repeated insensitive comments aimed at vegans and towards the end, out of nowhere, even went on a long rant about how bad vegan replacements products supposedly are (which he was unable to back up with even a single fact when asked). I sadly cannot recommend the cook at all.
For us as club members, it is always nice to be provided with such good and friendly food, even if we request it before the official opening hours. Thank you for that.
The three of us had lunch at Gardeners Nosh, and my daughters had the gluten-free pancakes and the blueberry pancakes, which they found delicious. I had a salad that, in my opinion, was inedible. The avocado was brown and spoiled, the fennel was withered, and the salad was a mix of fresh and old leaves. There was no dressing at all! The server was very understanding and removed it from the bill. I was offered something else, but I had lost my appetite. We all had drinks and paid €45.
Very friendly service, lovely ambiance, but the seating was very cramped. The sauce was superb, the vegetables prepared with great attention to detail, but unfortunately the meat wasn't so good. The prices were a bit too high.
I visited Bianc Restaurant in Hamburg with two friends, eager to end our weekend trip with a Michelin-starred experience. The restaurant’s ambiance impressed us initially—minimalistic yet intriguing, and with an open kitchen that clearly set the focus on the food. We were excited to try the Emotion menu with wine pairing, as Chef Matteo Ferrantino’s reputation for refined creativity and clear flavors intrigued us.
The food, without a doubt, was excellent. Each dish was a thoughtful expression of the chef's creativity and craftsmanship, elevating quality ingredients in an impressive way. However, the evening's experience was marred by several service missteps. While the restaurant was fully booked, it took a noticeable amount of time for service to properly start, and unfortunately, it felt as though we were overlooked by the staff throughout the night. We were by far the youngest table, and it seemed the staff was more focused on the other guests, likely because they didn’t take us seriously.
A significant issue occurred when we were served the wrong course. The plates were quickly whisked away from our table and placed directly onto the neighboring table, even though we had already looked over and smelled the dish. This was handled quite unprofessionally by the service staff. Despite the fact that we were practically leaning over the food, they didn’t prepare a new dish for the other table—no apology, nothing.
As the evening progressed, service slowed down further, and despite arriving before other guests, we ended up being served after them. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the wine pairing. While the food was outstanding, the wines fell short of expectations. The selections were bland, uninspired, and not at all harmonious with the dishes. For a Michelin-starred restaurant charging €150 for a wine pairing, I expected much more thought and care in the selection process. As someone who enjoys and appreciates wine, I felt the pairings were lacking in depth and failed to complement the dishes.
The night took an unfortunate turn at the end when I offered feedback on the experience. Rather than accepting it gracefully, the server became defensive, and the situation escalated when the chef de service joined the conversation. He responded with arrogance, dismissing my concerns, and even questioned my dining experience in Michelin-starred restaurants. It was an unnecessarily unpleasant interaction that left a sour taste at the end of what could have been a lovely evening. His boastful comments about his qualifications and the absurd markup on the wine only made matters worse. We calculated the actual cost of the wines, and it turned out they were charging five times the online price, which felt unreasonable.
In the end, we left feeling unwelcomed and disappointed. The food was fantastic, but the unprofessional, rude, and dismissive service ruined what could have been an extraordinary dining experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves their service, as the potential for greatness is there.
Absolutely fantastic!
From arrival to departure, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming.
Excellent advice and recommendations, and the food was divine! (Not for those with a large appetite.)
Bring plenty of time and simply enjoy!
The service was friendly, young, and attentive. While they seemed a bit inexperienced regarding the wines and dishes, this didn't detract from their charm. The food was delicious, natural, and not over-seasoned, unlike what I've experienced in Michelin-starred restaurants.
