We came here because of the great recommendations and overall it was ok, but unfortunately nothing more.
There are (officially) no ingredients like potatoes or even simple pasta, for example with salad (you'll probably get them if you ask); Another, well-known guest had potatoes with steak (neither of which is on the menu).
The vegetable plate was good, but without any side dish it's a bit small; The side salad (we simply ordered it, it wasn't officially available either) was good and fresh, but so sour because of too much vinegar that it went back. Apart from a small “I’m sorry” there was no comment.
The lasagna was delicious, reasonably priced and visibly freshly prepared, but it consisted largely of tomato sauce before you even saw the lasagna.
We sat at the front right at the entrance and were the only guests at times; There were also seats on the first floor and it would certainly have been comfortable there, but we didn't know that.
CONCLUSION: As I said, it was quite ok, quite tasty and fresh, but there were a few points that mean we certainly won't be going here again.
Regarding the rating, for us the food was more like 3-4 and the ambience as well, but I decided on the 4* in both cases -
By far the best Greek restaurant around. Service always attentive, warm and courteous. Fantastic gyros and the appetizer platter is also highly recommended. We are already looking forward to the next time!
Worst store in all of Solingen. The service was disastrous; The food was by far the worst I've eaten in recent years & in the end I was deliberately charged €10 too much. I'll never go there again!
The management of the new “Alt Ketzberg” is already known to us from the times of the “Landhaus Kovelenberg” and the “Zunftstuben” and has often attracted us with their special and familiar hospitality. Our last visits to “Alt Ketzberg” also confirmed our previous experiences. Robert and Viki and their team welcomed us like old friends and also entertained us. It is clear that they enjoy their job. We were served very friendly, we were asked several times whether everything was OK and special requests were gladly taken into account.
The restaurant has been renovated and exudes a cozy and very inviting atmosphere. The seating is very comfortable and you don't want to leave the restaurant again.
The range of dishes on the menu is somewhat reduced compared to the previous locations, but it is a good mix of Croatian and German cuisine that does justice to us. The quality is of the best quality and the taste is amazing, the portions are very generous and the price-performance ratio is very good. The drinks menu is more than sufficient and also of high quality.
The summary for us, a restaurant that we would be happy to recommend and would love to visit. We'll be back.
A thank you to the “Alt Ketzberg” team.
Another visit to Alt Ketzberg, the restaurant was well attended, which reflects our experience, great delicious food, cozy atmosphere and nice and friendly hosts. It was a great evening, the food was great as always and everything else was great too. Thanks to Vicky & Robert and the team.
Basically a sports restaurant. Rustic and simple. Very nice and attentive staff. The dishes are hearty and rich. You feel good here and will be happy to come back.
We were there on Christmas Day with 28 people. Had reserved and pre-ordered. Because the number of people was quite large, we had four dishes to choose from (veal cordon bleu, rump steak, game goulash and fish (different types). For the children there was chicken breast with fries and pasta with bolo.
The drinks came immediately (positive). The children received the food first (positive).
The food overall, all four dishes, were consistently great.
The highlight was the dessert. It would have made it onto television.
