We have known Rudolfs for a very long time, but we haven't been there for 1.5 years.
Now we wanted a corner table when we ordered 1 week in advance. We were told on the phone that there was no guarantee. When we arrived, we received a table of 8 that had been put together. We were then kindly told that there were two other tables available - they had been pre-booked. So then there is a guarantee of the choice of table.
Well - we have to say that the lack of empathy and poorly trained staff around the boss couldn't provide anything to ensure that we had a nice evening there.
A good restaurateur in 2024 should be much more than that.
You have empathy and an attentive eye, or you don't.
The half duck I ordered turned out to be two wings on the plate.
Next time we'll go back to Bistro Elbe 27 opposite.
Very friendly entrance, beautifully laid out. Chairs very close together, they are discreetly replaced for heavier guests, they obviously thought I was slimmer, it was extremely uncomfortable. Our service was curt, our food was served at a rapid pace on the paper tablecloth. There was no advice or information about the process. That's why the table next to us asked us for the flyer - absurd considering the price! It seemed incredibly rushed. I then changed the chair myself because there was no one to talk to. My husband's comment that it was too spicy for him was simply ignored. The dishes were then thrown onto the sushi tray - incredibly unpleasant. From dessert onwards, our service was no longer visible. We then had to ask the friendly lady at reception for the bill. We had Henssler's mix, it was delicious, but unfortunately not exceptional. Only the variation with truffle butter and the avocado were special. The logic of how you should divide 3 sushis by 2 is beyond me. The makis fell apart (nori sheets), our sushi delivery service can do that better 🙈. It was nice, but it doesn't need to be repeated, I told the lovely lady that too. We felt much more welcome in the Bullerei and the sushi in Berlin is also better with our regular sushi makers.
Note: Photo with guests has been edited, it was actually full.
Went to the Clouds open-air bar.
The ambience is nice, but the view is not as good as in comparable locations.
The biggest negative was definitely the cocktails. Priced at a high price, none of the cocktails managed to impress in terms of taste and fell significantly behind those of other local bars with higher prices.
We weren't sure if we could just sit down. We sat down as no one seemed to notice. I think it's nice for the kids that there are fries, but the taste was just as strange as everything else. Fried noodles had a strange aftertaste, duck was ok. But I really didn't find anything that tasted really good. Lunch buffet for €40 for one adult and two small children is too much given the quality of the food. Service is also rather rough. We won't be coming back. Too bad!
Great ambience. Super nice service. We arrived late, the kitchen was already closed, but a selection of cheese was still possible. Cool mix of restaurant and market hall. Will come back.
I had dinner with my girlfriend today and it was incredibly good. The buffet has everything your heart desires, whether you like Asian or not, there is something for everyone. If you get up briefly to get something to eat, the old used plate is taken away and you can continue eating. The waiter with the French accent is super friendly and courteous. When asked, he brought me and my girlfriend extra creme bulee, even though it wasn't supposed to be served until later. I can only recommend it and I will definitely visit the shop again.
