The food is very good and there's plenty of it. You definitely won't leave hungry here.

We were a group of eight at Kitchen's for dinner. The restaurant's ambiance is great – very stylish yet cozy, and the service was relaxed and efficient. Six of us opted for the Swiss cheese fondue. The fondue itself was delicious and not too strong. However, what was completely unacceptable were the two tiny bowls of greasy, crispy bread croutons served to everyone. The amount wouldn't even have been enough for one person. The croutons were difficult to spear and barely absorbed any of the cheese (which was also too runny). We repeatedly asked for more bread slices and each time received only a few. Furthermore, the large tea light under the cast-iron fondue pot was far too weak to keep it warm. The other side dishes were tasty, but the most important thing is the cheese and a sufficient quantity of good bread. That's what I would have expected at these prices.

The vegan menu was outstanding! Absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, we (and the tables next to us) always had to wait quite a long time for drinks.

The food wasn't worth the price. The Königsberger Klopse (meatballs) were like rubber balls. The taste was awful. I wouldn't eat there again.

It's great that this fantastic menu is also available in a vegan version - we'll definitely come back!

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The five-course menu was excellent and worth every penny. Our only slight disappointment was the soup bowl with cheese fondue, which the kitchen seemed to add on at the last minute. Everything else was top-notch culinary art, and each course was a delight. Our server, Rayelle, did a fantastic job. She explained each dish in detail – friendly, cheerful, and charming. We're already looking forward to the next themed dinner and will definitely be back.

The presentation of the food was truly special, our waitress was able to answer all our questions, and the taste was, of course, perfectly balanced – a wonderful journey through Switzerland. We're looking forward to the next country! Wellness for taste and soul.

Vegan experience - everything was above expectations!

We only stopped for a drink at the bar. The atmosphere there is very pleasant. The restaurant, however, is visually stunning. It has an ambiance reminiscent of the Great Hall in Harry Potter. I'll definitely go there for a meal soon. The prices on the menu are rather high, though.

Three ladies, all over 70, set off from Itzehoe to visit the Westfield Center and end the evening with a delicious meal at the recommended restaurant, The Kitchen. When my wife entered the living room around 10:30 p.m., I've rarely seen her with such a happy expression as she recounted her outing. While visiting the rooftop terrace, they had to be rescued by a restaurant employee because, in their age, they had mistakenly used the wrong elevator—the one for hotel guests. They later ran into him again while waiting tables, and it turned into a delightful evening with a delicious meal. Thank you!

I can only give it five stars. The service staff was very attentive but not intrusive. The food was cooked to perfection and the ambiance was unique – the style was very thoughtful and well-designed, and the noise levels were well distributed, allowing for a pleasant evening.

A wonderful concept—we were on a culinary discovery tour of South Africa yesterday. With a magnificent menu, great wines, and outstanding service. Many thanks and "thanks for having us."

Great atmosphere in the HafenCity location. The service is very attentive and friendly. The food is creative and very delicious, although some of it is purely a matter of taste. The prices are on the higher side, but the overall package is very harmonious.

We had a delicious 3/5 course menu with matching wine pairing for our wedding anniversary. The entire service team was very attentive and guided us pleasantly throughout the evening. Our waitress, Rayelle, in particular, was incredibly helpful and treated us very courteously! I find it very bonding to be taken on a journey by the restaurant and to experience the team's individual impressions of each culinary region through storytelling. We look forward to the next menu!

The restaurant manager/head chef is constantly creating new dishes, which he prepares in a way that is simply a delight, inspired by his travels abroad. The five-course menu is perfectly coordinated, and each course was a true delight. For a menu of this quality, you would pay more than double at a Michelin-starred restaurant. I highly recommend it and am already looking forward to the new menu, which launches in November.

This restaurant has a very stylish interior. The food was very fresh and delicious. The beef tartare was especially tasty. The staff were also very kind and had lovely smiles. I'd love to go back on a special occasion.

The restaurant and bar have a very cool interior and a cozy style. We went to the bar beforehand to enjoy a drink or two before dinner. Unfortunately, the food (a la carte) wasn't that great. The fish (wolffish) was delicious. But that runny mashed potato wasn't our thing at all. The food was also too salty. But everyone's taste is different. We only had the main course. To feel completely full (even as a woman), you definitely need an appetizer or dessert. We think it's better to choose the 3- or 5-course menu at this restaurant. The service is very friendly. We went back to the bar afterwards because we really enjoyed ourselves there. The bartenders are very nice! We tried several cocktails. They are professionally prepared. 👍🏻 We'd go back anytime!

Excellent, attentive, and professional staff will accompany you throughout the evening. A fantastic working atmosphere prevails! We experienced the menu as a wonderful culinary journey, gathering glimpses of the team's travels. A wonderful wine tasting tour complemented the menu. The value for money was more than satisfactory—we would have paid more for such an enjoyable evening. After having a lovely evening with a set menu at Kitchens, we wanted to go there for dinner on July 12, 2025. We arrived at 8:20 p.m. After being registered but not greeted, a completely unmotivated employee came over after about seven minutes and told us that no table was available. There were at least seven more free tables in the restaurant... It was very obvious that they had absolutely no interest in us. Even the best cuisine is no use when the service is so blatantly lacking. Hence only one star!

In dem Moment als mein Getränk serviert wurde, wies ich den Kellner darauf hin, dass sich darin eine Fliege befindet. Das kann passieren, die Frechheit passierte danach, als mir wenige Minuten später exakt das gleiche Getränk mit der kleinen Fliege darin erneut serviert wurde! Absolute Frechheit!!! Man hatte offenbar probiert die Fliege zu entfernen, war dabei nicht erfolgreich gewesen, sondern hatte sie nur weiter hinein geschoben, und gedacht damit wäre es erledigt.

An absolute 11/10. We chose the 5-course menu; each course was a culinary surprise and perfectly matched. The trainee, in particular, provided incredibly good service; we have the utmost respect for that! All in all, it was the perfect evening for us!

was here as a team dinner, with a party of 6. all went for 3-course menu, also a few bottles of wine. from the first moment till the last, all experience was exceptional. the kindness of the staff, taste of the food, the interior decoration and all the other small details were amazing. I saw couples, families and much bigger groups were having dinner at the same time, therefore the restaurant is very convenient for the different kinds of gatherings.

First of all, praise for the nice and attentive table service, which did its work with enthusiasm. The food (5 course Korean menu) was a real treat, we were/are really excited about it. Actually, everything here speaks for five stars, good service, delicious food and a very nicely decorated restaurant. But since the tables for two with the seating on the bench are very close together, so that you can actually hear every word the other guests say, we were left a bit perplexed. Above all, there were still free tables for two on the "middle island", and even when the table neighbors left, the table next to us was occupied again, even though there were other free tables. With this table arrangement, at least one table should be pulled out along the length in order to gain some distance from the neighbor; after all, it is not a canteen.

We had a very nice evening in Kitchens with the Korean menu and the recommended wine pairing. We particularly liked the beautiful yet relaxed atmosphere and the excellent food. There is a minimal service deduction for the fact that we were served by 4 different employees. Everyone was very nice, but with just one dedicated server it would have been even more professional and the "story" of the Korean menu would have been even more complete.

Das Koreanische Menü (5Gang) war ganz okay! Der Sous vide gegarte Fisch schmeckte ziemlich langweilig, die dazu gereichte Beilage war nach meinem Geschmack zu salzig! Der Service sehr gut und aufmerksam. Mir persönlich war das Restaurant einfach viel zu dunkel! Es fehlt das Tageslicht. Der Abend war alles in allem sehr schön. Allerdings würde ich das koreanische Menü nicht noch einmal wählen. Dafür hat es mir nicht gut genug geschmeckt. 105€ ist dann auch ein stolzer Preis! Aber es war mal eine spannende Erfahrung.

Went here with family and chose based on reviews and preference for Korean cuisine. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Although everyone raved about the Kitchen's, the food was neither good (the advertised authenticity did not correspond to the food served) nor anything remotely special. Unfortunately some of the dishes came cold - main course. In terms of price, the performance is clearly misunderstood. For a 3-course menu it took almost 3 hours with 1 hour between courses (kitchen totally overloaded, including at other tables). Refilling wine at this level must be included in the service. The service was very friendly and unfortunately couldn't save the kitchen's weaknesses. (quality and waiting times) All in all, unfortunately a disappointment for such a big announcement of a special approach to gastronomic demands.

Courteous service, great location, but I expected much more from the food. You get the feeling that Kitchens wants to be so much and doesn't live up to its own expectations. The food is okay to good at best, but I personally found it lacking in depth of flavor and sometimes the entire composition wasn't well-rounded at all, especially with the starter (burrata) and dessert (blackcurrant mousse). In Hamburg you can eat better for less money, I'm very sorry.

What food and what great staff! The course menu is star level!

Tolles Essen, anders als man es kennt. Themen-Küche mit 3. oder 5 Gänge Menü. Auch als vegetarische Variante erhältlich. Wir hatten ein Essen von der Karte. Top Qualität und sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. War nicht unser erster Besuch und auch sicher nicht der letzte Besuch. Beim nächsten Besuch in Hamburg werden wir wieder hingehen.

We had a very nice evening with you! Starters (tartar & daily recommendation of beef broth) as well as the main courses (steak & daily recommendation) were perfect in terms of taste and visual appeal 👌 With her manner, very friendly and competent, Hanna gave us a very pleasant and enjoyable evening and gave us very good advice on our choice of dishes, so that I had a fantastic dessert at the end. All in all, we'll definitely be back! Thank you for the very great and no longer usual service, dear Hanna.

We ate a very special menu inspired by Korean cuisine. Very creatively designed and a wonderful taste experience... every course is a surprise. We really enjoyed the evening at Kitchens.

In allen Bereichen ein wahres Erlebnis: spannend designte Räume mit Wohlfühlfaktor, supernettes und ungewöhnlich aufmerksames Personal, das uns jedes Gericht liebevoll erklärt hat und unaufgefordert auf unsere Vorlieben (z.B. vegetarisch) geachtet hat. Das südkoreanische Menü ist für den Gaumen und auch für das Auge ein Genuss und die Fotos für die einzelnen Gänge schaffen eine originelle Brücke zum Herkunftsland. Es wurden sehr schmackhafte Zutaten gelungen kombiniert, so dass es Gang für Gang ein abwechslungsreiches Erlebnis war. Auch der Wein korrespondierte wunderbar! Da ein Geburtstagskund unter uns war, haben wir sogar noch als Überraschung zum Abschluss einen Minikuchen mit Kerze erhalten. Anlässlich des Weltfrauentags haben die Frauen eine wunderschöne Rose mit auf den Weg bekommen - ein rundum gelungener Abend! Gerne kommen wir zum nächsten Menü wieder.

Cocktails in the bar and then dinner in the restaurant. We had a nice evening but the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for me, so no full marks.

Unser zweiter Besuch im Kitchens hat uns in unserer bisherigen Einschätzung bestätigt: Hier zählt offenbar vor allem der Umsatz über dem Wohl der Gäste. Besonders als jemand, der aus Österreich stammt – einem Land, in dem Gastfreundschaft und Flexibilität großgeschrieben werden – war ich enttäuscht. Service: Höflich, aber unnachgiebig Der Service war professionell, aber mehr auf Effizienz als auf echte Gastfreundschaft bedacht. Besonders störend war die völlige Unflexibilität bei der Menügestaltung. In meiner Heimat ist es üblich, dass der Gast im Mittelpunkt steht – individuelle Wünsche werden, wenn möglich, gerne erfüllt. Ich esse keine Süßspeisen und hätte stattdessen lieber eine zweite Vorspeise gewählt, gerne auch gegen Aufpreis. Doch hier gab es nur ein starres Konzept: Ein Menü gibt es nur mit Dessert, Punkt. Diese Haltung lässt wenig Raum für eine persönliche kulinarische Erfahrung. Geschmack: Angepasste Aromen statt authentischer Küche Die Idee einer koreanisch inspirierten Küche war der Grund unseres Besuchs, doch geschmacklich blieb das Menü hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Authentische Würze? Fehlanzeige. Das Kimchi war kaum scharf, die Flank-Spitzen des „Korean BBQ“ nur dezent gewürzt, und das sous-vide gegarte Filet wäre ohne Jus schlicht zu trocken gewesen. Positiv zu erwähnen ist die vegane Version des Menüs, das meine Frau gewählt hatte, welches deutlich raffinierter arrangiert war.  Insgesamt wirkte die Küche zu stark an den europäischen Gaumen angepasst – was bleibt, ist ein wenig inspirierendes Geschmackserlebnis. Die Vorfreude auf eine echte kulinarische Reise wurde hier enttäuscht. Wartezeit: Viel zu lang Ein echtes Ärgernis war die Wartezeit. Wir saßen um 19:15 Uhr am Tisch, doch der Hauptgang wurde erst kurz vor 22 Uhr serviert – und das, obwohl unser fünfjähriger Sohn dabei war. Als wir nachhaken mussten, wo unser Essen bleibt, erhielten wir die knappe Antwort, wir seien ja „zwischendurch mal rausgegangen“. Kein Wunder, nach über zwei Stunden Wartezeit musste unser Kind sich einfach mal die Beine vertreten. Dass dann das Dessert noch weitere 25 Minuten auf sich warten ließ (während die Küche bereits eifrig gereinigt wurde), obwohl es großteils vorbereitet gewesen sein musste, zeigt deutlich, wie hier vom Service auf das Wohl der Gäste geachtet wurde. Nachdem die Flasche Wasser seinen Weg ebenso wenig an den Tisch gefunden hatte wie das Glas Wein zum Hauptgang meiner Frau. Vergessen. Kleinigkeiten, ich weiß, aber bei dem Anspruch.. Preis-Leistung: Nicht gerechtfertigt Die Menüpreise wurden laut früheren Kommentaren wohl noch einmal erhöht: • 3-Gänge-Menü: 70 € (Weinbegleitung 32 €) • 5-Gänge-Menü: 105 € (Weinbegl. 50 €) Unser Abend hat uns insgesamt knapp 300 € gekostet, ohne einer Flasche Wein wohlgemerkt (eine 3-Gang-Weinbegleitung für 1 Person inklusive). Bei diesem Betrag erwartet man nicht nur gute Zutaten, sondern auch eine entsprechende Aufmerksamkeit gegenüber den Gästen – sei es durch eine flexiblere Menüstruktur, ein stimmiges Timing und v.a. einen Service, der sich bemüht zeigt. Hier fühlten wir uns jedoch mehr als zahlende Kundschaft denn als willkommene Gäste. Fazit: Das Restaurant hat eine schöne Einrichtung und ein vielversprechendes Küchenkonzept, doch das allein reicht nicht. Ein Restaurant, das mit einer kulinarischen Reise wirbt, sollte nicht nur geschmacklich überzeugen, sondern auch das Erlebnis für den Gast in den Mittelpunkt stellen. Stattdessen bleiben starre Regeln, lange Wartezeiten und ein Gefühl, dass hier eher Umsatz als Zufriedenheit zählt. Nach zwei Besuchen wissen wir: Ein drittes Mal wird es für uns nicht geben. PS. Ein abschließender Besuch in der three Fingers Bar passte zur Service-Erfahrung bisher: Ketchup zum Grilled Cheese Sandwich für unser Kind: “Geht leider nicht, die Küche hat geschlossen.“

A really chic restaurant/bar in a very good location in the Hafen City. The staff is very friendly without being intrusive. The ambience is tasteful and creates a harmonious atmosphere with the calm music. The food is beautifully prepared and tasty, but given the ambience, it's missing a little bit for 5 stars. A little more spice (yes, individual preference) would be good for the whole thing. Otherwise unusual ideas and a nice wine selection.

I can't describe the evening in words! We were here for the first time, but not the last time. The menu with the wine accompaniment is simply amazing. The Tuscany theme is consistent. We had a wonderful evening yesterday in the “Kitchens”. We have rarely eaten something so varied, inspiring and delicious in the last eight years since we stopped eating animal products. It started with the greeting from the kitchen (Saitan smoked in a bamboo basket, delicious!) and continued through all three courses. My husband had the South Korean inspired menu with wine pairing, I tried the vegan wine soup and the “green sauce”. Everything was extremely tasty and attractively prepared and the waitress was extremely competent and friendly. Only the non-alcoholic Column Zero white wine would have tasted better served ice cold (the nice waitress knew how to advise and brought ice cubes) and the acoustics in the room offer little privacy. At least we were able to celebrate her marriage proposal with the woman sitting next to us at the next table. Overall, absolute recommendation!

The kitchen put a lot of effort into creating really great food. We can highly recommend Kitchens for both vegans and carnivores and will definitely come back. Lovely cocktail options available. Great wine selection. The tasting menu was great, the only thing I would have loved is for the brisket to be a bit less dry. Otherwise the rest of the meal was great, lovely experience. Great staff, professional and attentive.

I had the pleasure of visiting Kitchens Restaurant and absolutely loved it. International cuisine is presented here at the highest level. The pasta with truffles is particularly recommended – it was incredibly fresh, excellently prepared and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. The service was also a big plus: the waitress was extremely attentive and friendly without being intrusive. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the dog-friendliness of the restaurant. We were there with our dogs and they were immediately given a warm welcome - including a bowl of water that was provided straight away. Despite the full restaurant, the atmosphere was pleasant - the volume in the room was well dampened, so you could have a relaxed conversation while pleasant music played in the background. The ambience was very clean and stylish, which rounded off the overall impression. Although the price level is a little higher, the quality of food, service and atmosphere fully justify it. I can highly recommend Kitchens - especially for guests traveling with dogs - and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
