I was here a few years ago and am still very shocked by what we had to experience. There were six of us and 4 of us wanted to eat the menu, however 2 were vegetarian so didn't want to get the same meal. The service said that it was only possible table by table and no offer was made that we, both vegetarians, could order an adapted menu or a la carte, both of which would have been fine for us - after all, we just didn't want to get meat. My girlfriend was on the verge of tears because we just wanted to eat there together. If we had been there in two groups of four and two, we would have counted as two tables. After a really long discussion, the service finally gave way, but our mood was already so low that none of us could enjoy the food in any way. Of course we never came back, this was the absolute opposite of first-class service in a would-be star restaurant.

Love it there, the food and the ambiance are really nice but what makes it great is the team! Always ger a positive vibe there <3

Not exactly top-notch. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my meal. I had rump steak, and the meat was a bit small and not exactly tender. Poor quality. I always had to intervene with the service myself. It was extremely chaotic.

Food with good flavor and enough dishes to share. The attention of the staff was very good, as well as the speed of the service. The place was clean.

The dishes were not flavorful and some were oversalted. One dish even had to be replaced with an alternative. The portions were relatively small and the quality wasn't outstanding. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere with friendly, but not attentive service. For example, the empty aperitif glass wasn't cleared away until the end, no bread was offered, the dishes weren't properly preheated, and in some cases, you had to wait almost an hour for the next course. Unfortunately, the value for money here is completely out of the question.

We've been to Funky's a few times now. Every time it was a fantastic experience. The creations of the dishes are wonderful, for the palate and the eye. There's something on the plate, and only in a positive way. For us it's an absolute star restaurant, as there are a few other restaurants in Frankfurt that don't actually deserve the star... By the way, the bar is the best “speakeasy” style!

Disgusting cockroach discovery in a hamburger The two of us ate at this restaurant last week. Unfortunately, after finding a cockroach in the food, we can't recommend it at all! After we entered the restaurant at 5 p.m., we were immediately informed that the kitchen would not prepare dinner until 6 p.m. We then just wanted to have a drink and look for another restaurant. The service staff then changed course so that we stayed. We were literally persuaded to accept the offer of an earlier meal. We then let ourselves be chatted and looked at the menu again, as the chef had to be asked several times what dishes he could have prepared at an earlier time. Finally we ordered a truffle pizza and a hamburger. While the truffles had no flavor and the pizza needed seasoning, as did the fries, when I cut my hamburger I actually found a cockroach hidden within the toppings. Luckily I ate the burger sliced... When confronted with the discovery, the service staff reacted relatively unaffected and simply said that this could certainly happen in warmer temperatures. Insects would always fall from the ceiling. This reaction was an absolute no-go. As well as dealing with the bill. The hamburger wasn't charged, but the pizza was, which I couldn't eat either because of my disgust. A proper apology was sought in vain. Only a drink to "disinfect" was offered... Very macabre and insensitive. Therefore, the restaurant is not recommended at all and the hygienic conditions leave more than to be desired!

Very nice restaurant! Perfect service! Waiter very kind! The food was also good, potato soup and as main course the “All in One” with nice mix of sea food , chicken and falafel. The beer was fresh and good! Recommend for a nice and calm experience after a long day of work!

I ordered a pasta plate for €10, the pasta looked like it came from an instant pack and the washing water from half a head of lettuce, which I identified as a side dish, was 2 cm high in the plate. I would think twice about eating there.

Good, nice ambience...Unfortunately Frankfurt prices deduct one star.

Unfortunately disappointing overall. We were there for lunch. Unfortunately we were served very late and it took forever for the food to arrive. Strangely enough, we were also the only customers in the restaurant. Card payment only from €25 is also antiquated and no longer up-to-date. The food was quite tasty and the portion size was okay.

EDIT: The 4 reviews come from the 4 people who all experienced the same thing with a single order. That's why everyone has the right to leave their personal conclusion. The fact that you can't satisfy 4 people with one order should give you pause. Thank you for your offer of free ordering, but unfortunately that doesn't help me if the quality is the same. Really underground. So if I could I wouldn't give a single star...! I'm so disappointed, your soups taste like nothing, no taste, thin like water, very, very bad... normally I would have had to get money for eating that... The fried noodles, yes what can you say about that, didn't taste like anything either... It's better to find another cook...or taste the food before it's served...
